I was asked by this company to leave a review of the service they did on my Volvo, so here it is. They changed the oil, washed and vacuum the car for just over $400.00. Quite a lot of money for such little work. I was advised by this company that the car required the replacement of the lower control arm bushes at a cost of $2600.00. I wanted an additional opinion and so asked Volvo. I showed them the photo supplied by Cox and was advised that the “split” in the bush was a typical manufacturers mark and that the bush was fine. Out of interest I asked Volvo for a quote to replace the lower control arms and was advised that it would cost no more than $1100.00. I was also advised by Cox that I had a nail in the wall of one of my tyres and that it would require replacement which they would do, at significant cost.. I took the car to Jax Tyres in Prahran for a second opinion and was advised that there was no nail in the tyre but only a small piece of metal trapped in the tread of the tyre. This was removed and there was no damage to the tyre. Cox wanted to charge me additional costs for replacing various filters as these were not included in the ‘fixed price’ service fee. Surprisingly these were going to cost more than Volvo would charge. Cox also charged me a fee for paying by credit card, something that most merchants don’t do. Finally a large and very unattractive rear window sticker advertising Cox was applied, without my permission or consent, to the rear window. It took me some time to remove it. I won’t be going back to Cox to have my Volvo serviced after this experience. I had wanted to support a local business but never anticipated being treated like this.

I paid $198 for them to diagnose a problem because errors were coming up and the car would jerk and go into limp mode. After diagnosis they told me it will cost $1600 to replace 2 solenoids in the valve bank and that will fix the problem. It didn't fix the problem. The car went into limp 10 min after driving it out of their workshop. I asked for the old solenoids back because it would be easy check if those solenoids were a problem in the first place. Eddie refuse to get them for me. I took it back and they told me its other issues that will cost me another $1900 to fix. I decided to get someone else to have a look at it. But when I picked the car up that 2nd time, it was so much worse than when I dropped it off. Now it was coming up with new codes on the scanner that haven't come up before. I pulled over, and after inspecting the spark plug coils (one of the things they wanted to change for $1900) I noticed one was snapped (refer photo) and wasn't even plugged in properly. Letting a car go out like that is down right irresponsible and dangerous! It would have been sparking all over the engine! In my experience, if Eddie gives you a free coffee mug... than they have taken more then your car for a ride.

Great service! They attended to my car last minute for an air-con gas / filter issue. The entire team was incredibly friendly and let me freely voice my concerns without undermining me or cutting me off like other service centers had. After looking into it, they promptly called me to advise what they wanted to attend to and the cost before going ahead to ensure it suited me. On dropping my car off they offered a replacement car complimentary to get me back home and to run errands until my car was ready for pickup. The loan car was clean and suitable and a great help. On top of the service they even washed the exterior and vacuumed my car complimentary to an excellent standard (this has rarely been done in other places so it was a great extra). I’m so impressed with the service all round. Even if there’s a problem with the gas in the future I feel very confident in returning to them if needed. I’ve had very mixed experiences elsewhere and this had been by far the most professional, cost conscious and stress free I’ve experienced in Melbourne! Also as a side mention the customer office and the car servicing space were both so well kept and clean which also contributed to a great experience. Thank you!

Be cautious of the high prices charged and the quality of the parts used at this workshop. I had used their services for some time, and unfortunately, I encountered some issues with the parts they installed in my car. The sway bar link they replaced was of very low quality. Despite being adjustable and less than a year old, the rubber joints were already bursting without proper lubrication, resulting in a lot of noise. The radiator inspection and replacement of hoses were even worse. They used a worm clamp to secure a hose to a plastic part, which is not suitable for high temperatures fluctuations. Over time, the extreme heat and cooling of the radiator caused the plastic to become fatigued, resulting in cracks around the tube where the hose fits. This could have been avoided if they had used spring clamps designed to expand in heat. Now, I am left with no choice but to install a new radiator with spring clamps. Therefore, I advise you to exercise caution when it comes to using parts provided by this workshop. It's important to be aware of the quality and suitability of the parts they use in your vehicle.

I brought my Hyundai to Cox , knowing that they are specific on Europe car, but they also very happy to take mine . My car have oil leaking problems and it’s not leaking on the ground case, I have to top up once every six or eight weeks, been tried a few other auto services but none work it out, then Cox team be able to identify what exactly it is and also checking out some other hidden problems that I know . This is a 14 years car should have it be fixed! Including front tyres, brake pad and disk, castor rod bushes , alignment etc, I have to talk to my husband and let him decide . And Dinil with the team were so friendly and happy , didn’t mind I did not proceed all the jobs they tackle and they finished everything nice and clean, they charge me a very reasonable amount, even the wheel are shining and spotless ! I felt like these people are not only service the car well, they service our heart too! Keep it up, it is not small things, I will surely come back to fix the problems have no hesitate to tell all my friends to come!

I am extremely happy with the service and assistance provided by Mark at Cox auto services. My BMW had been worked on at another mechanics, and I had been uncomfortable and unhappy with the work performed. I was honestly astounded by the professionalism and prompt response from Mark regarding the results from the full diagnostic testing of my car! I received a phone call with a full and detailed explanation of the results. I also received photographs of all engine parts tested. I received a full written report of the diagnostic results, in addition to a quote and explanation of work needed. I think they are the most outstanding workshop I have ever taken a car to. After driving down from Sydney to Melbourne my S Class Mercedes had developed a worrying brake noise. I was only in Melbourne for a few days before I planned to drive back and obviously wanted to get the brakes checked out before I did that. The Mercedes dealership I called was fully booked for weeks and not at all helpful. After some Googling I found Cox Auto. I called them late on Thursday afternoon and got booked in for the very next morning! They could not have been more helpful over the phone. The next day I dropped the car off early at their impressive workshop and by lunchtime got a call that the car was fixed. The car was newly washed when I picked it up and I was only charged for an hour of labour as the fault had been fixed with no parts being required. From beginning to end, all my dealings with Cox Auto were exemplary. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

I can't sing these guy's praises enough!! Andrew was delivered a BMW on the back of a tow truck with lots of unknowns. These guys, within 3 weeks of dropping it off, had the car all repaired and roadworthied and collected today. Very communicative and a written quote of everything detailed black and white. I can't recommend these guy's highly enough, extremely professional group of guys and a pleasure doing business with them. Will be making the trip to Melbourne to have more work carried out. At last a company that can service my Mercedes without out the huge costs associated with a service from a Mercedes Benz Dealer. Cox Auto Service Centre recently serviced my Mercedes for the second time. Not only was the cost substantially cheaper, I also felt that Cox Auto Service was working on my behalf. In the past Mercedes Benz made me feel like they were doing me a huge favour servicing my vehicle, almost like I should be honoured that I had them service my car. Cox Auto were extremely helpful and offered a number of extra incentives. A simple thing like washing and detailing my vehicle thoroughly after the service was completed. Unlike Mercedes, who seemed to not care about the final result! Thank you Cox Auto Service Centre

SCAM ALERT: Let me explain. The usual charge for an RWC is around $320, but these people will charge $250 to begin with. They will ask you to process the payment over the phone before you even take your car in. I told them I had the car serviced two weeks ago from a dealership. However, because they couldn't find any faults, they claimed the brake fluid wasn't changed and had moisturized. To change that, they charged an additional $188, whereas the usual rate would be around $120-$140. Now, because you have already paid $250 and knowing that if you bring back the car, you won't get your money back, you are forced to get it changed. So basically, I ended up paying $438. Absolutely shoddy service with hidden fees.

Although they diagnosed my problem on my 1997 Volvo V40 Wagon. They charged me $397.00 for what they say was 2 hours work. I don't believe it took two hours to diagnose. They then quoted me $720 to replace 4 Ignition leads, 2 Ignition coils and four spark plugs. I had replaced "new" the 4 Bosch spark plugs, the 2 ignition coils and the 4 leads, Total $226.00. I took me 45 minutes to replace all the parts, so the labour at their rate, would be $150 per hour. Total $376.00 I wonder how they would have justified the other $400.00. This auto garage is VERY VERY expensive, for what they do.

Probably the best experience I have had getting my car serviced. Cox Auto as a whole was fantastic at ensuring all aspects of my car were taken care of and attended to from general maintenance to cleaning both inside and outside the car. Daniel in particular was super friendly and explained everything to me excellently. I felt very comfortable asking questions regarding the servicing and Daniel ensured that I understood everything. They even gave me a free umbrella as I was leaving! Would highly recommend booking with Cox Auto for any and all servicing needs.

Really helpful team, booked our car in for a RWC and had it done by the next day. Billy and Graham were great over the phone, so helpful and understanding, explained everything that was needed and put so much effort into finding us the best quotes from suppliers. RWC was great value, the bits that needed fixing were more expensive then we’d hoped but can’t fault the quality and cars generally cost a lot so just grateful to have it sorted- and they made our car look the shiniest it’s ever been! Would recommend to anyone needing their car looked at.

Cannot recommend these guys more highly. I’ve been getting my wife’s Citroen serviced by the dealer for many years, but recently got a very expensive quote from them to replace brakes and thermostat housing. Took it the Graham at Cox Auto for a second quote. Not only were Cox Auto significantly cheaper, their service and customer care was far superior. My car was due for service and needed a RWC for resale. I booked a spot online, dropped the car off in the morning. By lunch time they had rung to one clarify the type of log book service i would need and added repairs etc. to make the car Road worthy and the extra $$ needed. By the EOD my car wasnt finished still on the hoist. But i was prepared and had a loan car. By the end of day the following day my car and RWC was ready and she was cleaned spick and span. Really lovely people to deal with, very approachable and friendly. I would recommend Cox Auto Service Centre if you want a problem dealt with promptly and efficiently, however a high price tag can come with it. If you've got the time and knowledge to shop around a bit, you might find a better deal however if you want someone to help you out quickly and to go the extra mile, they are worth the extra dollar!

Excellent customer service, the boys here kept me updated every single day of progress on my car repair. The complimentary car wash and coffee mug was much appreciated. I will say that labour costs are more than average, but I’m used to going to my local mechanic and mostly Japanese cars. I serviced my Audi A5 Quattro for the first time at Cox Auto having previoussly serviced the car at my local Audi Dealer Service Centre. I think the team at Cox Auto was great. The communication was very professional and I found them to be extremely knowledgeable. And finally, Cox Auto was significantly cheaper than the quote from the dealership for the same service.

The bill was almost $300 more than I was lead to expect, and my car, which had just been detailed before being dropped off, was covered in dust and dirt, which I had to ask to have washed off. Wasn't very impressed. The staff were very friendly and pleasant however.

took my vw polo to have air conditioner fixed I was charged $600 to have it fixed and it is still not working and now want to charge $3650 to fix it. not happy ripped off
