This is a review in regards to the pho I ate here and not the other dishes since I did not try them. So we decided to go here because it is a Vietnamese restaurant which means they should have a decent bowl of Pho. I could not have been more wrong. I am 99% sure the pho they served us was the instant pho from Costco. The only difference was that they added green onions and shabu shabu meat. It was horrible considering we paid 12$ each for Costco instant pho. If you come here get the dishes and not the pho. The only reason I gave 2 stars and not 1 star was because the service was good. Edit: Nous sommes allés sur place alors que l'endroit était plein à craquer. Le service à quand même été rapide et les serveurs étaient souriants. La table d'hôte était à rabais, un très bon prix en ces temps où tout est cher. La nourriture était délicieuse et les portions généreuses. ---- Il faut être patient (pour emporter) car c'est un endroit très occupé, mais la nourriture est toujours excellente et les portions généreuses. Nous commandons toujours les combos avec soupe et nous sommes entièrement satisfaits.

Je n’es pas été manger directement là bas par contre je suis une fan de ce type de cuisine et parmi une panoplie de restaurant de ce type que j’ai essayé c’est permis les meilleur que j’ai mangé et je vous recommande vivement leur soupe poulardine tout simplement divin. J’ai commander aussi la combinaisons de poulet griller tellement subtile mais tout en saveur on distingue viens chaque aliment qui ce trouve dans le plat et les épices qui sont parfaitement équilibrées avec le reste !!!!!! Définitivement, Chez Lien est un restaurant incontournable pour déguster la cuisine asiatique. Depuis de nombreuses années je savoure les délicieux repas servis ici. Les ingrédients sont frais, savoureux et de qualité . Le service est rapide et le personnel est courtois et chaleureux. Le propriétaire est exceptionnel, il est présent et à l’écoute de sa clientèle. Les assiettes sont de bonnes portions et les prix sont raisonnables. Je recommande chaudement ce restaurant.

Had a combination plate of ginger chicken. Comes with soup. Although it was not the kind of Vietnamese nor Thai restaurant I am used to(no pho, bun, fresh rolls, pad thai etc), it was flavourful. Salad was julienne cabbage lightly dressed. Lots of vegetables in the chicken dish. The plate is plentiful and enough for big appetite. The service was fast; the place was half full as soon as it opened. Seems very popular with locals. Very basic interior, nothing fancy. It is in Montreal East so menu and service are all in French. The staff is helpful.

Ma 1ere fois ce soir chez Lien rue Sherbrooke, le service fût très bon, le rouleau impérial est le meilleur que j'ai goûté de tous les restos asiatiques où je suis allé et la soupe Tonkinoise au poulet, appelé "poulardine" sur le menu était vrm excellente garni de poulet grillé, de bons légumes croustillants, généreuse en nouilles et très bon bouillon, vrm succulente, j'espère que vous ne changerai pas la recette. Je vais retourner c'est certain...

Let me start by saying I never take the time to review anything. Forgive my punctuation. I’m upset and hungry. this is the Worst soup I’ve ever had Chex lien has a reputation for being the best pho in the city. I received some hideous mush cross between an imperial and egg roll soggy and tasteless. My noodles are over cooked. The broth some super sweet won ton hybrid. the vegetables are over cooked like they were prepared for a toothless grandma. Like come on!! It’s barely edible.

La cuisine est vraiment excellente, je ne parle pas des portions, whaou Le service est excellent et très rapide. Pour l'ambiance, c'est un peu bruyant, car beaucoup de monde, mais on peu discuter normalement et tout est bien correct. C'était ma première (nous avions réservé.) cela ne sera pas ma dernière visite, je recommande fortement.

Je suis mitigée… J’ai toujours adoré ce resto. Je viens d’y retourné et je sais pas ce qui se passe, mais le service était mauvais, la soupe ne goûtait plus la même chose et mon plat principal a rapetissé. Le menu est varié avec des formules pour tous. Les portions sont très bien fournis et les prix sont très correctes. Bon services en salles, le personnel veille à votre satisfaction, avec de petites attentions; chants et bougies d'anniversaire, remplissage permanent des verres d'eau fraîche, cadeau du chef... Petit bémol, tous les moyens de paiement n'y sont pas acceptés. (pas de visa ni de mastercard, interac et argent comptant seulement.)

Worst Service ever the owner was lost at the time of paiement and when I asked to add something to the order at the arrival of the restaurant he told me I should have ordered before arriving. The food was super soggy and super sweet and almost just fat. We ordered General Tao and didn’t even get what we ordered and over cooked. Also the Food tasted like it was precooked and then frozen and recooked. Not recommending this place to no one.

Love the table d'hôte and the combo platters. Generous plates for what you are paying ! Not worth it though to get the individual meals. It's great for take-out !
