There are a lot to be expected at the art center( playing of drums, opportunity to learn a thing about kente weaving styles, have a hands-on experience in carving, paintings and dance on a good day , Sellers here are comely, approachable as always. Shifting from the personalities that sell there, Is the environment. I’m highly disappointed at the look of the art Center. Just as huge as the place welcomes you, the attitude of Art and for the image of The capital, Accra, a great deal of attention needs to be give. The entrance is unfriendly, there ain’t enough maintenance from my observation. This spot on the map, by the sea needs a facelift indeed. I like the place but not proud of the outlook. Sincerely.... but then, I’ll recommend anyone that loves handmadejewelry, bags and Artifacts , visitors from around the world and indigenes to patronise from this place. It’s safe and the people there are beautiful in character. Visit to have an experience of a kind. There’s a gentleman behind the main stream of stores that makes xylophones ... he’s fantastic. You should go look out for his pieces amongst other amazing men and woman traders.
I had great fun at the Centre for National Culture. I am impressed with the curious arts, designs and crafts of the people. With so much commitment to excellence and details to the letter. You will find enough things to buy - clothes, gift items, etc. You can also go there to learn about how to make these things. People here are friendly and accommodating (I didn't expect business people not to be calm, have listening ears, tough). The place is clean and yes, it's worth visiting.
A great place to visit, very aesthetically pleasing and engages all your senses with art and music. Lots of well crafted handiwork like wooden statues, bronze & iron figures, kente fabric, beads and drums are on display with price ranges for every type of pocket. The people are fun to be around and very helpful. An immersive experience. It is located close to Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleom and not far off from the Bank of Ghana.
It was nice to see all of the artwork, especially in the gallery. If you don't have a local with you, offer less than half for the opening price and don't pay more than 60% max. It's still a tourists price but that was a helpful rule when shopping here.
Great place to get Souvenirs & Gifts, have multiple stalls/Vendors vying for your attention/business:; be prepared by knowing what you are willing to purchase & how much money you are willing to spend, Great location for African Gifts, Highly recommend
I liked the place Nothing much than a place where we can get stuffs such as status, clothes and so on The environment is cool Located after the kwame nkrumah museum If willing to buy anything from there , please bargain
Pretty run down square reflecting the diminished regard for Nkrumah and other Pan Africanists over the past 50 years, but interesting and solemn, particularly all the old photos in the museum and the lonely tomb.
This place located around Jamestown is very beautiful. It houses a lot of cultural and traditional projection Artefacts and ornaments. The place is full of beautiful history and stories
Nice arts & crafts market with big variety. But salesmen are too intrusive and overcharge. Don't pay more than half the price they ask.
