A few bad experiences. 1) I went in to get my mental health care plan renewed as I hadn't used it. The Dr said 'i can see Dr Julia gave you your plan'. I corrected him, 'it was Dr Perera actually'. He said 'Dr Julia gave you your plan and you've had your mid-plan review.' I corrected him again, 'I've never seen Dr Julia. It was Dr Perera and I haven't had a mid-plan review because I haven't used any sessions.' He said 'Dr Julia gave you your plan; it's all here in your file' and turned the screen to me. I read the file notes and "my" cervix and its impact on "my" sexlife before checking the top of the screen and realising he had my sister's file open. We're estranged and I don't want to know about her sexlife. The Dr is required by law to let her know that he showed me her file. We don't speak so I don't know if he did but I bet he didn't. 2) I had the first appointment of the day on a Saturday. I was messaging my partner about how late they were running even though I was the first patient and that the doctor chatting with another patient about hair cuts better not be my dr. She was. She saw me for 2 minutes didn't examine me just told me my spleen was bothering me and ended the appointment. I then rang my partner to chat while I walked home. She billed my appointment as a mental health breakdown appointment because it's worth the biggest refund to her. I used the text messages and the phone call (4 minutes apart) in my fraud complaint to the Department of Health to prove that she was billing appointments fraudulently. I didn't hear the outcome of the investigation. 3) I booked a phone appointment over the phone. The fella on reception gave me the 6pm appointment. After the appointment the dr said she was putting me back through to reception. The receptionist then told me they were now charging for appointments after 6 (note all appointments are charged for now). I said "that's ok. My appointment was at 6, not after" he told me at 6 still counts. I said he didn't let me know at the time of booking, it was non-urgent and I would have taken another time if informed. I didn't pay. I later got a notice telling me to pay. I rang and asked to speak to the practice manager. They weren't available. I left a message asking them to call me. They never did.

I am extremely disappointed at this medical clinic. 1 star is generous. My fiance attended here on 25/8/2022 and from the moment of arrival we were greeted with negativity from the rotund receptionist. I observed her being reasonable to caucasian people but when patients of ethnic, usually middle eastern origin attended, she would raise her voice and roll her eyes. This is clearly a sign of unconscious bias, if not out and out racism. It then became personal for us. After my fiance's consult, we attended the reception to pay the gap (they're no longer a bulk bill clinic). The man who served us told us there's no gap and "it would all be covered by Medicare". We asked again, if there was anything to pay, he repeated it would all be covered by Medicare. So we walked out. Within about 15 minutes of us leaving, my fiance who had just had a medical procedure and who English is not her first language, was called by the rotund female receptionist and accused of leaving without paying. My fiance explained to her the discussion she had with her male receptionist colleague, there was no apology from the rotund lady and she insisted we turn around to come back to the clinic and pay. It was peak hour traffic and we had other places to be. She suggested we pay over the phone (which is inappropriate as its not a secure way of paying). The rotund receptionist then repeated her allegations of us leaving without paying, suggesting that we knew there was a gap to pay. Again, there was no apology for what was clearly a miscommunicnation by the male receptionist. A side effect of the treatment performed on my fiance by the clinic is increased heart rate and it was extremely unprofessional and dangerous for this rotund receptionist to antagonise my fiance by telephone because of this medical clinic's own misinformation about payment requirements. I called the clinic on Friday, 26 August to discuss my concerns with the Practice Manager. I left my name and number for a return phone call. I am still waiting for the phone call. As they do not want to return my call, I hope she at least takes the time to read my review instead. I have no doubt many others will. And yes, I will not be returning to this medical clinic.

Absolutely disappointed by the service at this clinic. I’ve been trying to call the clinic several times for the past two days but it kept going through to the automated message to wait till an operator was free to answer my call. Did that like 10 times each day and never got through. Finally got through today to be told there was no appointment with my preferred doctor. Whilst I understand the receptionist has no control over what happens with the phone, she was not at all empathetic and was quite rude. I believe her name was Sherri. I can understand that the doctors fully booked and at least pretend to care and see if you can check with the doctor about what can be done. I have been waiting for my blood results and no, I don’t want another doctor to “read it” to me. I did the right thing and booked an appointment soon after the blood test but that got cancelled because of the doctor family situation, I get that. I tried to book an appointment again online but it only allows phone consult when the doctor said she wanted to see me in person to discuss a plan. So I try and ring the clinic but no one picks up, 2 days later finally someone picks up to tell me you cannot see your doctor because they’re going overseas. This is to do with my health, the least you could do is to at least try and speak with the doctor because on the website it looks like there’s plenty of appointments available! Just the general attitude of the receptionist was disappointing! On a positive note, Dr. Mozhdeh is an amazing and very caring doctor! I am so glad to see her back at Blair Athol Medical Clinic!

Avoid this place!! They are absolutely useless. It always takes at least 10 minutes just to get through to reception who are condescending and unhelpful. Then they mess up bookings way too often. Last week I booked an appointment and confirmed with them that it was in the clinic and so I turn up to the appointment for them to tell me the GP didn't even work that particular day. I pleaded for them to work with me just to be told "nah, sorry all the GPS are booked out". I went on hotdoc straight away and there were so many appointments available. And then I booked an appointment for the following week as well as a telehealth and never got called. I called reception at the end of the day to ask when I would be called and was told it was booked as an in-clinic appointment (which it 100% wasnt) and that I was charged a $25 for not showing up. They are absolutely terrible with their telehealth appointments, no matter what time of the day I make it for, I get the call at the end of the day. I end up waiting all day for a phone call. And the GP I usually see has denied my son a blood test in the past, saying, "he's growing, he can't be deficient in anything". Didn't even bother investigating his poor health that I kept telling her about. I had to order and pay for my own blood tests then which came back proving I was right, he was dangerously deficient in numerous vitamins and needed urgent help. The negligence is disgusting. I've given this place way too many chances as it's close to where I live. It's really not worth it, I'll be looking elsewhere for a better GP.

Unfortunately the only saving grace of this medical clinic so Dr Winnie. I have been attending this clinic for a while now and every other doctor I have seen has been quite horrible from making me fight to get blood tests taken to almost not listen to a thing I said/described. Also resulting in making me feel extremely horrible in what is a vulnerable moment when seeing a doctor On multiple occasions the staff/doctors have also not followed up on things they said they would. Such as emailing me sick certificates I required, calling me hours after scheduled phone appointments or filling out medical forms correctly with information I told them. Their phone system also never works. I am constantly on hold to an automated message for 10+ minuets and have to end up hanging up and calling back an hour later only praying I can get through. One occasion I had to drive to the medical clinic due to the delay on a phone appointment and my inability to get through on the phone system. I understand being busy and having a lot to do but after dealing with this exact thing constantly for over a year you have to notice it does come done to management an work. I have worked in health care before . You can’t be flat out non stop busy every minuet of every day. The brilliant care I have received from Dr Winnie is the only reason I return to this practice. I hope the practise soon listens to reviewers and can implement change at some point.

Hii Please please please dont do to this clinic, as I have a long story. I had a ankle sprain before 2 years ago, so I went there dr. told me nothing was wrong. So they just give me some cream. And still I have a pain in my ankle so I went there so they told me to do X-ray, but nothing was wrong. So they don't care about me. So after requesting them many times they were ready for ultrasound scan, but unfortunately nothing was wrong. So then after every time I went there they just say me, all will be ok. And even I told them should I for work as I have to do hard work on my job , but still they didn't stop me, even I asked them to stop it or not. And after so many time requesting them for MRI but they were not ready for it. So due to this I didn't get any proper solution here and my Pain increases so I went to my home country and I have done MRI and when I went to dr. Here in Blair Athol medical centre so the same dr. Who treat me for around 1 year, he hasn't open my MRI and just told me I am not expert in this so he just wrote references letters for orthopedic surgeon. Ohhhh my god, If you dont know how to trat ankle, then why you treat me for 10 months. Please please please I wish everyone going to somewhere else, not in to Blair Athol medical centre.

Been waiting for my new patient appointment for a few weeks because I really wanted to see the GP I booked in with on recommendation by my specialist. I confirmed appointment last week when I received the reminder text to confirm and had filled out the online new patient form. I called on my way to the clinic to see if the doctor was running on time, and I was told I didn’t have an appointment? The receptionist was really rude to me and I said why like I never cancelled, and I confirmed the appointment? She then looked up my name and cut me off while I was speaking, only to tell me my appointment was cancelled and that I must’ve pressed the wrong button. I was a medical receptionist for four years and I know the way she spoke to me was disgusting, rude, and didn’t try and figure out a solution or speak to the doctor. I went home and checked, and I had confirmed the appointment (image attached), so they just cancelled my appointment somehow and didn’t tell me. Even if they DID think it was my mistake, it’s still a mistake and I was on my way to the clinic anyway, and they could have spoken to the doctor. So bad, don’t bother going here, especially given the other reviews.

I have been a client of this clinic since it was established. Despite it being distant from my home where I could go to a clinic more convenient to my location I choose to go to the Blair Athol MC.The service is always respectful and professional with a good dose of empathy, where u are not treated as a number rather than a person. My GP is Dr Kamal however when he is booked out,Il have gone to a number of his colleagues with the same amazing service . They listen and and are pro active to diagnose and direct ur health care toward resolution of ur health issue. I recommend this clinic to anyone who asks me whether I know a good GP. I am in the industry myself so I am more than aware of what services I can access and won't endorse any clinic or doctor I wouldn't go to myself. Keep up the great service and thank you for being there when I need u.

I was absolutely blown away by how friendly and helpful the staff and Doctor (Julia) are, something I haven't experienced at a Medical Centre, actually if I'm going to be honest, ever. Our Family Doctor (totally different medical practice) moved interstate 10 years ago, and ever since we've had to put up with snarky, rude admin staff and Doctors who make it clear they don't really give a damn. It was extremely refreshing being greeted by lovely admin staff and my daughter was treated by Dr Julia Wellalagodage, who went above and beyond to help. Highly recommend. Although its not close by, I have the added bonus of treating myself to Chicken Chef chips which is not far away and makes the trip worth it :)

I have to say that this is one of the worst medical centers i have been to. The appointment times are only 10minutes and you'd be lucky to get half of that time with the doctor. Then there's the doctors, they think all your problems are from stress. Dr Parsa kept telling me my problems are from stress. After changing to a new medical center/doctor i found out i have renal artery stenosis and need a stent put in an artery to my kidney. Also need an arthroscapy on my knee which they failed to diagnose. Based on my experience the doctors at this practice aren't too interested in diagnosing your problems and more interested in chasing up money for a missed appointment.

Terrible staff and service, I've been going to this clinic a few years and have had all of one decent appointment. I've had issues from trying to find a psychologist and getting no help, having been diagnosed with tonsillitis then put on medication only for it to auctually be glandullar fever and ending up much more sick because of the medication(the only reason i got the glandullar fever diagnosis was going to a different gp), waiting up to 2 hours for the gp to call me for a phone consult, and being flat out ignored during appointments. It is awful not being taken seriously or getting the help you need from a doctor and this place needs lots of improvements.

Probably the best, friendliest medical centre We've been to. Never waiting ages on hold to book an appointment, haven't had to wait very long to be seen either! The doctor we're seeing is the most professional, loveliest one we have seen yet and actually genuinely cares and respects you!! You're not just another $.(they do bulk bill also). The receptionist ladies are nice too! If you're in a rush maybe don't go on the busier days of the week and you'll pretty much be seen straight away!! They have all the necessities too such as clinpath, a pharmacy, a psychologist etc. Would highly recommend over Prospect Medical Centre anyday, no questions asked! :)

This medical centre was a godsend. After living in Adelaide for over 2 years and having to pay each time my family went to the Dr's finding a clinic that BULK BILLED was amazing. The doctors and staff here are kind, friendly and extremely competent. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed if you choose to use Blair Athol Medical Clinic. The hours are fantastic and it is so convenient with a pathology collection site and pharmacy in the same building. Dr. Wella is our family doctor and I can guarantee that we will not be moving anywhere anytime soon.

I booked an appointment a week prior to my visit and confirmed to their text reminder too. when I visited the clinic on the day of appointment I was told the doctor is on leave and no other doc is available. When I asked why I wasn’t informed of the cancellation, the receptionist bluntly and dismissively replied we tried to call you but you were unreachable which is a blatant lie as I never got a call and my phone’s always reachable. The service level has gone from bad to worse in the last year or so. Wouldn’t recommend this place anymore to anyone.

Great practice, friendly reception staff and decent doctors. Moving from Melbourne to Adelaide was hard as I was anxious in finding a new doctor and starting all over as I have quite a list of health issues. Though Dr Nadia makes me feel so at ease and takes the time to listen to me. The reception staff promptly transitioned my health records when I needed them and they always know me by name when I walk in. The only thing I would change with this practice is the restroom facilities. There is only one bathroom for both male and female.

Dr Kamal was recommended to me by my Neurologist of 5 years. He is a very kind, thorough & professional Doctor with a gentle manner. My only regret is I hadn't seen him earlier with my chronic medical condition. The reception staff are always friendly & helpful...they go the extra mile. Having Clinipath right there is extremely handy for my regular blood tests as is the Clinic Nurse Hannah (another beautiful soul). I had a very disappointing experience with this clinic. The head receptionist I spoke with was extremely rude, unhelpful, and showed no empathy towards my health concerns. I requested to be transferred to someone who could better understand my needs, but she refused and continued to be unpleasant throughout the call. Empathy and kindness are essential in a medical setting, but unfortunately, the clinic's head receptionist failed to provide even basic care. I strongly suggest considering other healthcare options.

Been going there for a very long time. Asked for quick phone appt to get a script for toothache which kept me up all night. Turned away. If thats how you treat a long standing patient, i have no words but wow. Called back an hour later because the pain and someone else got the last appt as i called, how does that even happen when i called an hour earlier and there were absolutely no appointments and no squeezing me in? Finally got an appt 2nd time calling its definatly changed my views on the clinic.

I’ve been going to this clinic for years now, and slowly slowly they’re getting worse and worse by the visit. From ending up in hospital from an iron infusion that was done in a rush. To waiting 45mins on hold to make an appointment. The doctors I’ve seen here seem very inexperienced and would not recommend to anyone. Unfortunately this is the closest clinic to my house but now I am willing yo travel further for a decent doctor. Shame on you all for calling yourselves health professionals.

I used to go to this place for 5 months. I have been recently for my baby's vaccination. But unfortunately the baby hadn't got her Medicare card yet and nurse denied vaccines. I was told by nurse that I can buy vaccinations from pharmacy and it will be rebatable. And I did so. But when I tried to put them on Medicare claim I was told that the nurse gave me misinformation and the vaccines are not rebatable although they are part of national immunisation program. This costed me 420 dollars.

This medical centre is so pathetic it’s beyond a joke. Now with this payment that needs to be processed it’s an absolute joke. I pay with my Mastercard only to find out they can’t deposit the refund. At what point would the reception staff not make me aware of this prior to paying. Now I need to stuff around to get a refund. All they said is do you have another card. “Sure I’m a financial institution that has half a dozen cards to meet your needs. How pathetic. Not going back ever again.

Very poor service. Receptionists are not trained well. In the last few months they started to ask 15 dollar for each appointment. They only want to pay by debit card and the rest of Medicare u won’t receive. The only reason I went there because of Dr Anita Rahber. She is amazing and very good doctor. However if you book with Dr Chathuri Rajapaksha, she only give u 5 min and doesn’t check you properly and just want to get rid of the patients . Not recommended plz

Use to be my go to GP location but recently the service is so appalling for crying out loud medical professionals should be more kind and caring. The evening crew receptionist is extremely rude to patients treat them horribly. I’ve been sitting there for an appointment few times overheard her insults and low comments yelling at patients it’s amazing no one has done anything. GPs are quite good tho. Reception staff OMG seriously they need some good training.

I have a very bad experience with this medical clinic with staff front desk reception. I was calling two times in one day in the afternoon I was calling for asking if they any appointment available tomorrow for my daughter X-ray results. The first calling at 4:36pm waiting about 10 minutes and the second time at 6:49pm another waiting for 12 minutes and nobody answered. Very disappointed with the medical staff especially with the reseption on the desk.

Doctor couldn't give injection properly and traumatised the seven year old. He tried to procrastinate and eventually seemed to act like it was an intravenous injection despite it being intramuscular. We are now worried if the Rabies Vaccination was correctly administered. It was meant to be refrigerated but between waiting 50 minutes to get in and the 40 minutes of him trying to avoid giving the injection and some of it coming out again...

Dr Gamini Waragoda is a horrible doctor. Currently in quarantine which forced me to cancel a dentist appt, so i made a phone appt for pain relief medication as i have an extremely bad tooth ache. The entire call he spoke down to me, made accusatory comments and just simply didnt believe anything i said. Essentially told me to shut up and take panadol (which i have) and made me feel like an idiot. What sort of person does this?

The Blair Athol Medical Clinic is a very friendly and Professional practice I see Dr Kamal Wellalagodage who is very Professional and who is very thorough. I have been coming to this practice for over 2 years I travel from the Yorke Penibsula just to see my doctor. The receptionists there are also very Professional and are always very friendly and helpful in any way they can my favourite receptionists there are Jodie & Monika

The only place I could find an appointment at after new years and now I know why. Absolutely DISGUSTING treatment from a female GP there. I was told off for coming in, despite not having cold or flu symptoms and was treated as if I had a highly infectious disease - which I didn’t, just a problem with my eye. The gp wouldn’t even come near me and prescribed me nothing. I am absolutely disgusted and infuriated. Go elsewhere.

I had a terrible experience here! The receptionist named himself as RJ treated me like nobody. He is absolutely racist and even thought I told them I have a Medicare he kept insisting you know how to pay when you book and so on! He was way aggressive and impolite. I would suggest not to go here! I have complained with the doctor and I don’t think so anything is going to happen! They don’t take it seriously! Shame

Had a great experience with two doctors here, very thorough and managed to get a successful referral to a psych. The other doctor i spoke to about cholesterol issues was very helpful, and even made follow up calls to organise further assistance, which i didnt need to follow through with but it was very professional regardless. Receptionist staff were also very friendly, even despite the fact they are quite busy.

One receptionist very rude, I came in personally post work to inform the reception staff their phone lines have been down all day. Kelly is the name of the receptionist who was extremely rude w her reply. As a customer and receptionist myself I found this extremely unprofessional. I will be completing my medical appointments and moving to another GP due to the hostile environment/ staff in this facility.

Dr Kamal is my family Doctor of many years. He and the entirety of the Medical Centre staff have always been very attentive to the health of my entire family. It is a very busy atmosphere and well managed practice. Blessed with on-going support of Health Professionals & Admin staff. My Doctor is phenomenal. I would not go to or take my child anywhere else. Poor customer service and I was with DR for 7 minutes, she asked me to book a longer appointment next time, that's Crazy. I'm Not recommending Two Drs at this Clinic I will update my feedback with Drs Names soon Just to let other peoples Know their is some really professional Dr at this Clinic too Selling the cheap face Mask for $2 to make extra money just for their health and safety.

Dr Chataturi is pretty hopeless she talks with no compassion and no care at all. once she gave me someone else's prescription (which should be a breech of privacy and surely some form of preach of prescription laws) I had to drive all the way back to get the correct form and she came to the front desk and said sorry to the reception and not to me the one who was actually affected.

Absolutely poor service! The receptionist was so rude. I was waiting for a doctor for 28 mins after arriving for my appointment on time. I then asked the receptionist how much longer it would take for the doctor to call my name and she said 'oh 28 mins is not bad at all some people have had to wait longer'. What kind of a response is that? Honestly would not recommend to anyone.

Will never recommend to anyone. The receptionist are so irresponsible. They booked me in for a day sergery appointment. Confirmed with me via message. Then the day of sergery, they said “ unfortunately you are not booked with the Dr or nurse. You need to reschedule it.” I did reschedule twice. Still did not get my sergery done. Very very disappointed with the service.

I've finally found a doctor in Dr. Winnie who actually listens to the patient, and doesn't just talk at them. Thank you Dr Winnie. Other doctors here I'd rate as 'average' at best. (Quick to get you in and out, and happy to over prescribe medication) The reception staff are good, handy having a physiotherapist (who is also great) and phlebotomist in the one place.

Finding a fantastic Bulk Billing Clinic with wonderful and kind staff and caring , knowledgeable and thorough doctors is not easy specifically in current situation when many health professionals are even refusing to see you or not working due to covid pandemic. Very poor services I have been kept on hold for 30 min twice in one day for appointment and if try to call they don’t answer . I am not going back there as I missed call from doctor and I tried to call back where I was in waiting for ages at the end I lost appointment which I got after week time and I that appointment needed urgently

Dr Kandasamy should have his medical license shredded. He has no clue what he is doing and failed to recognise an abnormal blood result which required life long medication, also doesn’t know how to fill out basic paperwork for medical clearances. Don’t waste your time, go to another clinic with doctors who know what they are doing.

I've been attending this clinic for a number of years via face to face appointments and telehealth with nothing but positive experiences with staff. Yes this clinic can get busy, however you must consider the dynamics or demographics around. Overall I'd recommend visiting this clinic whether it's for a GP check up, blood test etc.

I gave one star because zero was not an option. Dr Hien Ong Din is by far the worst doctor I have ever met. I was ended up in hospital for 5 days when I was breastfeeding my 3 weeks old baby. That was because of the doctor being so careless. I had to stop breastfeeding after that. I don’t know how she got her license.

This medical center is very good and cares about patients. My doctor Dr Sunil listens to all my concerns and sometimes even rings back to clarify. The reception staff is amazing and at times goes out of their way to help. I have been to other medical centers and they don't provide same level of care but charge more.

it's getting harder to get an appointment as this clinic is popular. great staff. caring doctors. my only gripe is their phone lines. being on hold for 10 minutes is too much. convenient chemist and other services provided. covid testing station too. Dr Kamal and staff are great. I highly recommend this clinic

Coordination to arrange an appointment is terrible and frustrating. I confirmed my appointment 2-3 times and arrange my staff to be at clinic on time. Just an hour prior to appointment. Then they called me that the doctor is ON LEAVE and they’re not sure why nobody from clinic cancelled the appointment!!!

I am giving this rating for very rude behaviour from the receptionist. I just asked her to follow-up pathology clinic for results because they are not provided results to patients instead of listening she asked me to chase by my self and advised me to cancel my appointment. I am very disappointed with this.

11:53 minutes waiting and no one has answered… to be really honest how long do you need to answer a phone call !! Utterly ridiculous. It will take me quicker to reach the clinic quicker than this time ! It is 5:49pm on a Friday, how bad can it be ? Honestly would have given zero stars if I could.

Booked an appointment waited for an hour and they tell you had to make advance payment for the booking after an hour of waiting would have happily done that if they did not waste my time and told me to make payment before the booking. Very bad service i must say. They really don’t seem to care.

Very very very worst service . I was waiting from 3:15 pm . Firstly I have a phone appointment at 3:15 . They called me at 5 pm . I was waiting for one and half hour . After that I was called 10 times . They not answered my call .not received blood test paper . Very bad experience.

Amazing clinic, I have seen multiple doctors on different ocasions although I do have a doctor I visit specifically, but everyone there is so caring and professional, the doctors will take extra time to make sure you are tended to to the best of their abilities.

Only started going here for my partner’s pregnancy visits. Dr Chathuri is great with female patients and makes them at ease throughout the visit regardless of the situation. Definitely worth checking them out if you have are going through a pregnancy.
