My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Black Fire, a Spanish restaurant that left us absolutely delighted. We opted for the three-course meal, and it turned out to be an unforgettable culinary adventure. The food at Black Fire is nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish we sampled was a masterpiece, taking our taste buds on a journey through the rich and vibrant flavours of Spain. From the first bite to the last, we were treated to a symphony of tastes that left us craving for more. What truly stood out was the authenticity of the cuisine. It felt like a genuine Spanish experience, transporting us to the heart of Spain with every bite. The attention to detail in each dish was evident, showcasing the chef's dedication to capturing the essence of Spanish cuisine. The ambiance of Black Fire further enhanced our dining experience. The warm and inviting atmosphere, coupled with friendly and attentive staff, made us feel right at home. It's not just a restaurant; it's a place where you can truly savor the moment. Our evening at Black Fire was a reminder of the power of food to create lasting memories. If you're a fan of Spanish cuisine or simply appreciate exceptional dining, I wholeheartedly recommend Black Fire. It's a culinary gem where the food is indeed out of this world. We left with our hearts and stomachs full, eager to return for another exquisite meal.

Black Fire is a higher end, decently sized restaurant tucked into the developing Albert Street Station area, nearby QUT and the city botanical gardens, an easy walk from public transport and other nearby bars and entertainment. Prices are approachable and good value for the serving and quality present. A very solid offering, the restaurant's menu boasts local and deliberately selected meats, with gluten free and vegetarian and vegan options available. The duck breast with dauphinoise (a crisp outside to a creamy potato side) was delicious with the Calvados based sauce, though I personally thought the shallots were a little too sour and vinegary to mesh well with the rest of the dish. The sourdough bread with cultured butter had a very nice flour-dusted crust and soft toasted inside, though there could have been an extra flavour element like garlic or a pepper or herb mixed into the butter or oil. The drink menu has well known staples and a few Spanish offerings-- the Pulpo Albariño was light and refreshing and subtle, and the house prosecco was a good way to start. Definitely worth a visit for a moderate sized group booking, a romantic evening, or a small family get together for a special occasion.

Throwback to our dinner on 11 June in Brisbane at Black Fire ✨ We got: Long Island & Strawberry Cocktail Wagyu Short Ribs with Chipotle Sauce on the side Delicious, tender, fall-apart ribs with great glaze. Chipotle sauce added a nice kick. Black Angus Rib Eye with Beef jus Perfectly cooked steak, lovely char and nicely seasoned. *Both meals included sides, we chose roasted potatoes and seasonal leaves with mustard vinaigrette which paired perfectly with the meat. Although the food was great, the service wasn’t on par. Our waiter was friendly when we caught his attention at the start, but it was so hard to call anyone after even just to get a cup of water while the restaurant was pretty quiet. It almost seemed like the waiters were avoiding contacts We also caught a bad table placement where we were close to outside window, and we didn’t know there was a wind gap so our steaks got cold in a matter of minutes and the fat on it congealed Overall, it was still a good experience and the meat was yum. So if you’re in brissy looking for some nice grilled meat, come by this place and make sure to sit somewhere close to the inside and near the waiters haha

I visited the restaurant on a Tuesday evening and the first thing I noticed was that the decor tries to invoke a Spanish vibe. Spain historically is very multi cultured and regional. Catalonia and the Basque Country want to be independent; Andalusia in the South is distinct for oranges and Valencia’s tapas. And not to forget the Sierra Nevada. The interior design hasn’t kept the metaphor to be honest with any of Spain’s regions but to me was rather a bit of a mix and match. This was reflected in the menu and wine list. Fuego Nero associates with coal fire and grills yet no central display of such. The menu was not dedicated to dishes prepared with this method either. I was looking out for my mains: a seafood risotto (Italian btw). Unfortunately, to me it was neither a risotto or a paella (Spanish). The Albariño was pleasant and fairly priced. All in all I think this restaurant has great potential and I hope that it will focus on authentic Spanish dishes only with a complete Spanish wine list to match. Otherwise it will be more of a touristy, quasi Spanish place to eat.
Highly recommend the pork belly as a starter. Unfortunately, the Aracini balls were not desirable, very bland, and didn't seem fresh. Steak, ribs, and all sides are also recommended as all were very flavoursome and cooked perfectly. Cocktails were very generous and perfectly made, no skimping on the alcohol. Barman even gave us a free cocktail, which was very appreciated and generous. My concerns, though, with this location, were that there was no vibe, very quiet indeed. Only ourselves and maybe two other tables. The toilet is terrible and is located in the lobby of the hotel next door. Only one unisex toilet on offer and the smell was terrible. Toilets are important for an establishment, but when not quality or limited, this is a no-go for myself. Overall, dining here was ok, but will I be back, I don't think so. I've tried it now, but nothing overly stood out for me to return.

Just went there for a lunch, I never write reviews, ever. However, my lunch was absolutely horrible. Asked for a recommendation on the lunch special and was told the rump would be good choice…and it was absolutely awful, couldn’t even chew the steak, had to spit out the pieces after chewing. Told the gentleman who recommended it, and his response was that I should have probably ordered something else. He had also recommended the burger, even stating they only had two left, and it was mediocre at best. Covered with processed cheese that tasted like cheese whiz. Brutal. Travelling from Canada, staying in a high tourist area. Would advise to stay away from the lunch specials here. Being in a tourist area (staying at the Westin near by), if there was an apology or something done when this was brought up at the end of the meal, would have been appropriate, this is something you would expect. This review would not be written if there was some sort of accountability for the poor food. Would NOT recommend.

Throughout the evening we were hoping our experience would get better, especially with the recent reviews on Black Fire we had read. We were anticipating a dish was coming and it would blow our minds away. Overall it was an underwhelming dining experience. The dishes were presented on small slate plates and our food fell off onto the table when the waiting staff placed them on our table. Main course was arriving and it was a little comical how our fresh cutlery were placed (see photos). The ‘hand cut fresh local sweet potato chips’ looked very McCains and tasted average. The chef was not accommodating to our food allergies & intolerance, let’s just said the seasonal leaves salad was not by choice. One star to the bartender who was full of joy when servicing drinks, another star for the prosciutto, fresh bread and olive oil balsamic dish - best dish of the evening!

The dining experience at Black Fire in Brisbane was truly outstanding. The service was exceptional, with the entire staff delivering an unparalleled level of attentiveness and care. Each dish served was a delight to the palate, showcasing exquisite culinary skills. For those seeking a touch of Spanish flair, the sangria is highly recommended. In terms of the meats, while the rump steak was cooked to absolute perfection, the Wagyu beef, though slightly overcooked, still offered a rich and enjoyable flavour profile. This minor deviation in cooking style did not significantly detract from the overall excellence of Black Fire.

Welcomed on arrival by friendly team member seated quickly at nice table. Offered choices of water and took general drink order, handed menus. Ordered Chefs tasting. Entrees served fairly soon after 1 by 1. Delicious and very well presented, Our mains was a huge portion of lamb and rump steak, with 2 large bowls of sides. We could not finish the meal as completely full. Well done, only hiccup was 2nd drinks served, they forgot someone's glass of Red wine, took them 15mins to realise this then just came over and sat on table no apology or any said, this was the only let-down in an otherwise great evening.

Visited here tonight simply a walk in from google maps and wow we are very impressed and will definitely be back. The service was exceptional, amending dishes to our taste, friendly staff and great service. Now onto the food.. exceptional steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully, even the sweet potato chips were knock out. We shared two starters which were great portion sizes and clearly high quality ingredients and presented perfectly and so delicious. Thanks for a great meal we will certainly be back. 10/10 reccomend

Food was delicious, the steak was perfectly cooked and very tender, the slow cooked lamb was very lovely with a subtle sweet flavour that I would have liked a little more of. Pretty restaurant but the scrunched Ikea fake flowers on the table were bit out of place, might be time for an upgrade. And sadly for $5.50 the juice was quite sad, long life and gross orange juice despite having a breakfast service from the upstairs hotel. BUT over all for a lunch or dinner experience the meat is very well cooked and the dutch yellow potatoes are divine.

It is a pleasant and relaxing environment to have Friday gatherings with friends and coworkers. I ordered Angus T bones (500g) medium rare, which taste yummy and juicy with well-balanced fat. It comes with a sauce and a side from the menu. I am satisfied with the healthy options of the sides, but the choices of sauce aren’t my preference. The staff is somewhat helpful but think they are in a rush and impolite due to lack of available worker. Overall, we enjoyed the dinner there.

It’s ok … food fairly standard to be fair.. a bit flat on the flavours, steak was a bit chewy, risotto very salty and on the whole - passable but I wouldn’t say worthy the price. It nothing to really get excited about or bother coming back to … decided to go out of convenience as located in close proximity to our hotel but there are better options. Really nothing Spanish about the place either… shame they don’t make it more authentic Spanish rather than sit on the fence. No kids menu either so not sure how it came Ip as kid friendly
Recently dined at Black Fire, served by the fantastic Faya. She recommended the steak and slow-cooked lamb—both outstanding. Faya's charm and the delectable dishes made for a memorable evening. A must-visit for any discerning food enthusiast in Brisbane.

We had the pleasure of going to the Blackfire Restaurant just as it was offering a special dinner whose main ingredient was truffles. Speaking of the food, it was wonderful and spectacular with the chef making sure that everything turned out beautifully. The waiters were also magnificent in their service, we felt like kings. We will definitely be back, we have to try the rest of the menu.
I had an outstanding experience at Blackfire with the $75 per head set! The pork crackling was delicious, and the steaks were perfectly cooked. The overall set was amazing, and the staff, including the manager, were exceptional—kind and warm. A truly fantastic dining experience. :)

We chose the banquet meal. Which featured 3x starters and 2x mains for $69. The food was amazing! (The photos really don’t do it justice) Range of drinks good, and the ambiance relaxed, but the staff were attentive and friendly! Would love to visit again and try individual meals or even the banquets again.

Food is lovely but customer service needs improving. Ordered chefs tasting platter a few times now but changes portion size every time we go. seems like we are getting less the more people we have at the table. Overall the resurant is good and food taste great.
Been here a couple of times for dinner and found the food to be average. The steak was cooked well, however the Shiraz jus was overly salty, reminiscent of Vegemite. I have had the roasted potatoes and chips, both okay, but nothing special.
Oh Black Fire!! We were recommended to this place by a friend & we were not disappointed!! The boys had the Chefs Selection, I had the Risotto & my friend had the pasta & we all made the same sound with every bite...."uummmm yummm!!". That
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Black Fire and it was an exquisite culinary journey that left my taste buds dancing. Tucked away in the heart of Brisbane, this gem of a restaurant offers a perfect blend of ambiance, service, and,
Fantastic food, made my girlfriend who doesn't eat lamb actually try and enjoy it. This was my birthday dinner and we were placed next to the loudest and rudest people I've come in contact with in my whole life. Very loud and swearing all
I recently dined at Black Fire and it was outstanding! The Prosciutto was perfection, the service was exceptional, and the desserts were so delicious that I can't wait to go back for more. An unforgettable experience! More
Read up about this restaurant, had pretty good reviews. We chose one of the Chef Special share meals, but we're told the pork loin was not available, so we asked for the cheaper option of slow cooked lamb. Meal
I loved the food at this restaurant! A great mix of Spanish and Italian foods and Alejandra at the bar suggested some fantastic wine for my wife and I. Excellent food and service! I will definitely return soon
Wow! Amazing food. The food was to die for, and the cocktails were delicious. The service was excellent. Thank you Faya bowie and Denil for amazing night. We would highly recommend going here for a meal. More
