EDIT: Thank you Automasters for trying to contact me about the review. I can confirm that the customer service during the experience was less than impressive. Only after I have left a review do you seem interested to speak with me. On the day of the service as mentioned below, the Manager couldn't even call me back when he said he would. You responding to make yourselves look as if you care is too little too late. I also found an Automasters sticker on the back of my car today, which I think you should ask the customer before putting it on. Especially when the Manager knew I wasn't happy with the service. Pretty cheeky if you ask me. As far as the $295 service, I advised I would like my car serviced, which the Manager came back and said would be approximately $2200 as it needed the 165K service (other things were also suggested needing attention). I said no thanks and advised I would pay for the check but was going somewhere else for the service. You can swing it anyway you like but the point of a review is to give an opinion, and my opinion below stands. People who read this can make their own choice on whether they use you or not. I found much better value and customer service elsewhere. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I asked for my car to be serviced as it was due. I dropped the car to be serviced at 0830 in the morning. They called 2 hours after and advised that I had a list of things that needed to be fixed that totaled $5200 (this included the service for 165km $2200). I told them to do no work and await my phone call. I called another mechanic who I have used before for work vehicles, and he advised he could do the same itemised list for approximately $3000. I called back and advised to do no work as the discrepancy of price was too much for me to look past. They advised that because I booked in for a service that I had to pay $295 regardless even though I hadn't even chosen the type of service I wanted (165km service was due). I said I wasn't happy for them to do the work as I had not agreed, and had actually advised them to do no work until I called back in the first instance. I advised I was happy to pay them for the check of the items that needed fixing. The Manager said he would call me back with a solution, which he didn't. When I called them back an hour later to chase up the unreturned phone call, he advised he had listened to the call recording and it showed when I booked it in I asked for service. Poor customer service from the Manager. Lucky there is plenty of mechanics out there. Wildly overpriced place that was excessively more expensive than the competition. Very bad business especially when we are all suffering due to lockdown and reduced hours at work. Shame on you Auto Masters.

I have taken my car to a number of places over the last 30 years. But now I just go to Automasters on the Parade. I'm always so grateful that they take the cheapest route possible to repair my car. Dont try to talk me into other work, and the work that they have done has always been good - never had any trouble with any of their repairs (unlike some other places). I've always been so happy each time I have gone there that I havent got a massive bill. Let me give you my most recent example. I was driving along with smoke coming out of my car. I called the RAA who informed me I had something wrong with my gasket (they wrote it down for me). The RAA informed me it would cost anything from $150 to $1100 to get repaired. I looked up this repair on the internet which advised the repair could cost anywhere from $150 to $1200. As a pensioner, I thought - thats the end of my car. Automasters said they could fix it just by sealing it all up. I was charged $130. And they did a clean up of the fan belt for free - it was making a squealing noise. Drives fine now - and that was some weeks ago. They will tell you if something is likely to need fixing at some point in the future, but there isnt any hard sell to get you to agree to extra work.

Went on Saturday for car service.Requested to replace one parking globe as the other one was working and they charged $50 on top of other charges ($365 in total) just for replacing the parking lights. Which is merely a $5 halogen globe. When I came back home and tried the lights, the one had issues before was still not working. Rather they replaced the one that was working fine previously. Not sure why it was hard for them to double check before delivering the car back to customer. Also, requested to change only wiper refill as my blade was original and was of very good quality. Instead they replaced the whole blade with a cheap quality one. Not a good experience at all Edit : The owner Russel is a good person and handled my issues professionally. My lights and wipers are fixed in no time.

Prior to taking my Hilux to Automasters i was in the city dropping my partner off at work and i had the window down and i heard a horrible noise coming from my clutch i thought oh no! There was also a violent vibration on the peddle and through the gear stick.. luckily I nursed the Hilux home and called Automasters who were just down the road, they put a young mechanic called Sam in the driver's seat to diagnose the problem. After driving around the block he said immediately it's a blown unijoint in the tail shaft that explains the vibration and the awful noise coming from under the car. Thanks to the guys at Automasters they had it fixed that day and turned out to be a lot cheaper to fix than installing a new clutch!

This is my second service with Auto Masters in Norwood on my Ford Fiesta 2010. The car always feels better to drive after being serviced here unlike other auto service centres I have been to in the past. One really good thing is that they always call first for any work or repairs that need to take place and provide a quote so I know how much it will cost. It's good value for money as well. The cleaning of windows and vacuuming the carpet etc is a bonus. They are very professional and easy to deal with. Thank you Auto Masters. Highly recommend for services or car repairs. The payment methods offered make it easier to stay on top of everything.

Dropped my car in here last Monday hoping they could help fix the issue it was having, they gave me a call on Tuesday told me it was going to be $1000 to fix the problem, picked my car up on Tuesday afternoon AFTER THEY TOLD ME IT WAS ALL GOOD, only to turn the car on an still have the exact same issue. I don't know how you can justify charging someone that amount of money and not even fix the issue!! I then had to take it to a different mechanic who actually took the time to work out what the actual problem was! They were nice enough to help me out only to what seems like rip me off at the same time! Extremely disappointed.

Had my car towed in a few weeks ago for an engine non-start, the staff there was very professional, clinically tested all problems associated with a non-start and finally found out what was the problem. As for pricing, due to me never going there previously, and having my car towed in unable to start - they could have charged me anything and I would have very little say on the matter. On the other hand they did not, and they charged me a very reasonable price!! These guys are highly recommended, and will be back again!!! Thank you Auto Masters Norwood.

The team at Automasters Norwood are great! I've been bringing my car to be serviced here for a few years. I like that they are honest in what needs doing, and understanding of my interesting descriptions of parts of my car I think need looking at! (Honestly you guys deserve a medal understanding my descriptions of thingy, and that bit!). As a woman, I've had car places try and rip me off in the past assuming I don't know any better, and I'm happy to say Automasters Norwood do NOT even attempt to try this! Massive thank you!

I just had a God’s sent help from Ben and Sam. I called the shop because my car wouldn't start and in less than 5 minutes Sam pulled up next to my car to help and I don't know how (because the problem wasn't battery as I first had thought), but in a matter of a few minutes, he made my car start again. Guys, no money in this world would pay you for what you have done for me and my car today. You're amazing! Thank you so much for existing! You're amazing!

Took my car in to see why it was making a rattling noise. They were great at communicating what was wrong with the car and offered me multiple options on how to go forward repairs wise, including a breakdown of the cost of each repair option. While I didn't go ahead with any of the options as the price of repair vs value of car was too high, I was still happy with the service and advice I was given. Would definitely come back here in the future.

Fantastic Service! They were able to squeeze me in last minute to look at my car air conditioner. When they saw I had a small child with me he said he would look at my car as soon as possible (I expected within a few hours). 40 mins later I got a call to say my car was all fixed and I could pick it up. It turned out to be a simple fix which he waived the fee for and sent me on my way. Fantastic service!

Amazing service- Brought in my 1992 Toyota MR2 to inspect an issue with the charging system, the staff were able to quickly diagnose the issue and suggested the best course of action. The car needed parts from interstate but the staff were quick offer me a loaner car and had the repairs done very quickly. Fantastic service, great price with very honest and professional staff. Would highly recommend.

After a minor drama with my borrowed car today, I cannot thank Sam and the pit crew more for their assistance today. Whilst it ended up being no more than a new battery, Sam came across the road to my work to jump start it and then tested the battery once we were back at the workshop. New one replaced immediately, no dramas at all. Really appreciated all their help on the 'phone and in person.

The receptionist was lovely and explained the procedures in a friendly and understandable way. The middle aged mechanic was unfriendly and condescending. When I asked why I wasn't offered a cheaper option on my tyres over the phone, which apparently was available, he commented that it "wasn't his problem". I paid you to make it my problem so maybe next time you could be more professional.

Absolutely phenomenal service from Sam, as well as the team at Norwood. They provided expert advice over the phone, and took the time to listen to my problems. When the problem persisted, they were dedicated to resolving the issue for me. I have never experienced this level of customer service from a mechanic, and cannot recommend them enough.

I have added to my previous post. Just had daughters car fixed. Needed new clutch. They did it between Christmas and New Year. Wow! A hard working team that get the job done. Happy to recommend. Quite simply... fast and efficient, cost effective... complete life savers. Brilliant! RAA recomended and glad I took their advice to go there.

Sam and the entire Norwood team has been amazing. We had our first car checked by them and we never looked back since then :) Sam is always accommodating and helpful. Honest, hard-working mechanics. These guys worked for days assessing, identifying and fixing the source of leaks in an old Troopy. They honour their Warranties and stand by their work. Their costs are very reasonable and they are happy to explain their work. I recommend and will use these mechanics again.

Great mechanic shop. Very honest and detailed. Would have no doubt in their work. They even offered a service car (company car) as your alternative if your car is still under repair. They also vacuum your car to look presentable. Pls next time, also include carwash for free. Joke. Thank you.

Absolutely brilliant service, dropped my 1990 MR2 SW20 off there after a clutch failure and had it ready just a few days later, called up confirming it was okay to do stuff without messing me around and just doing it, absolute top price too. Definitely recommend for all MR2s out there ;)

Good on ya guys. I could not open my bonnet and they fixed it for free, and I've never been there before. Everyone I met was friendly and chatty. They've just gained themselves a customer. Now to top my water up so I can wipe my windscreen clean.

Older guy used to do great jobs. Younger mechanics tried to make money by giving massive list of parts that they said need to replace, but didn't even take care of basic stuff like engine oil. The engine blew away since I got service from here.

Called in here to get some replacement wiper blades not really understanding it was a car service centre. That said, exceptional prompt help provided and driving away 10mins later with new wipers. Thank you so much will recommend you to anyone!

Honest. I was charged a good price for the work done. Key deposit box and parking for pre day drop off. Friendly people. This is the second time I have used Automasters in Norwood and will continue to use them for all our car services.

I needed a new headlight globe, in a tricky spot so couldn't do it myself. Was quoted $150 elsewhere, called these guys, Was able to drive straight there, 5 minutes and $35 later all done. So happy they were able to help.
