So I came here based on all the great reviews and it's close proximity to my job. I had been without AC on my truck for an entire summer and I wasn't about to do it again so I bit the bullet took my truck in. First off, I had a quote from another shop that diagnosed my AC issue and asked Ashford Memorial if they could beat the price and they said yes. Well, it ended up being almost $1200. ( the quote was just over $1000) so they didnt beat it but anyway. My AC was blowing again so I was happy. I must point out that it has never worked as good as it did before it went in but it does blow well and cools for the most part. Within the first week of getting my truck back comes all of the weird stuff. My hazards would come on randomly while driving. When I turn my right signal on, the left one would come on instead or the hazards would come on instead. Then different dash lights would come on randomly and turn off. Me being a worry wart, I would check fluids, when the lights would come on and nothing low. I got an oil change even though it wasnt time and it still kept happening. Then I noticed that my hazards button appeared to be stuck down... so I saw that the steering wheel cover was wedged against it holding it down so it couldnt move so I smaked the cover just enough to shift it to where the button was free. That ended the hazards and turn signal issues but not the icon lights in my dash. So I delt with it a few more months and then it was time for my inspection/registration. I take it to my normal place and they say their computers cannot connect. I was so upset. They said I should go to a dealership and have them try. Well after trying 4 dealerships that couldnt help me because supposedly my truck is a 2006 and their computers only worked on vehiles as old as the lot has been open. Atleast that is what I was told. Then the 5th one that had been open more than 2 decades said they were backed up 4 weeks due to all the flooded vehicles and couldnt get me in. By then my inspection would be past due. I finally got a recommendation from a friend about a shop they had gotten really good service from so I tried them. Long story short, I ended up having to replace my entire computer because Ashford Memorial had to open my dash and disconnect my computer to fix my AC and then didnt put it back correctly and it was completely fried! So 3 weeks and $3000 later I have my truck back with a new computer, AC that works at like 75%, but it passed inspection and runs great so I guess it could be worse. I do want to point out that I didnt contact Ashford Memorial to ask them about my issues once it was diagnosed by the shop I used even though they asked me if I wanted to try that before they got started working on it. I just didnt want Ashford Memorial to touch my truck again once I was told that they destroyed my trucks computer. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 star is because my AC does work.

My 2003 Nissan Altima was having issues starting and the check engine light was on. I went to do a routine spark plug replacement to fix the issue, but I saw that it was out of my DIY hands when oil was sitting in my spark plug wells. So I decided to look for a mechanic.. This place had some really positive reviews, so I said why not. When i went in, they were really welcoming and nice to me. I understood that I had to jump in line and wait a few hours to get a diagnosis, but I still got my car looked at and repaired the same day.. I figured it was a simple seal that needed to be done(which I didn’t know how to do myself), but Nik told me that my valve cover, ignition coil and tube seals need replacing. This ended up costing me $929.92(my whole broke college student savings). I was very grateful despite losing it all to save my ride. He also briefly explained other issues that may need attention in the future. That same day, when i got out of class my car still had trouble starting. So the following day, I brought the car back to the shop to get down to why my car is still tweaking after a $1000 repair, but left with a quote for a $300 repair that will “fix the starting issue”. Annoyed, but whatever. However today, I come from school and for some odd reason my car is smoking from the engine, and my coolant fluids were all over. Now my car went from “not okay” before I got it serviced by them, to “still not okay” after I got serviced, to “my car is dying” not even 48 hrs afterwards. I’m not gonna discredit anyone else’s experience but even when I came back to say that my problem wasn’t solved, I still didn’t feel like I was at least supplimented for spending a grans of my own money on a problem that didn’t get solved. I COULD say that at least its gonna prevent any further oil leakage, but now my car is completely out of service, and all I really got was a quote and a good day... I don’t know what my next move is, but I’m certainly giving 3 stars just based on their, apparantly good, attitude. Don’t see myself using their service in the future because of trust issues.

Absolutely the worst mechanic ever! I took my car to Ashford Memorial Auto on two separate occasions and in both cases, they failed to correctly diagnose the problem. I took it to them mainly for convenience because they are close to both my home and work. They seem very legitimate, warm, and they do have good customer service skills. But to actually do the work on your car and fix it correctly this isn’t the place to take it to. The first time I took my car there I had the oil changed and the turn signal light replace. I also told them that my car was overheating some and could they check it because the radiator is full and had been replaced a year ago. The oil change and light cost me $80 bucks; the overheating problem they told me that the radiator and water pump needed to be replaced. I later learned that there was nothing wrong at all with the radiator, it was just the water pump and the system needed to be flushed. The next time I took my car to them, I was having issues with the car not starting every time. They looked at it and told me that it needed a new fuel pump and filter; $800. I simply couldn’t afford that. Check Amazon and found all of the parts I needed to do the job myself for $120. I got the pump and filter in and still had starting issues with the car. I got a diagnostic code reader and attached it to the car and found that there were no issues with the pump, but the crankshaft sensor had gone out and there were some fuel mixture problems, which leads me to wonder did Ashford connect a code reader to the car? How much more would it have cost me to have the crankshaft sensor replaced? Another $1,000 to $1,200? It seems to me that all Ashford is looking to do is pad their wallets and not actually fix your car. I would probably put up with poor customer service if I could actually get my car repaired for a decent price. Here you're just getting ripped off with a smile.

AWESOME MECHANIC. I've been to several different mechanics trying to find the root of the issues with my car, and haven't gotten anywhere. I have battery problems, sometimes can't start my car, electronic things randomly turn off and on. When my car completely died, I got it towed here on recommendation from my brother. They fixed a couple of issues first time, and my car ran okay for a few weeks. I brought it back, explaining that the issues started again, and they fixed a few other things. When I picked it up, it died down the street after I turned it off to get gas. I left it at the gas station and they picked it up, no charge. (I'll say, they did fix several things the first two times, but I drive a volkswagen and they are very finicky. I don't blame them at all for thinking it was fixed.) This time, I got my car back and there were NO issues at all. My car ran like it was brand new. Several mechanics have tried to fix this problem, but only Ashford Memorial has actually fixed it! And all at a good price. The first two times they didn't even charge anything at all because either the issue was too small or they wanted to make sure the problem was solved completely. I called them after the final pick up a week later to pay, as they wanted to make sure my issues were completely gone before taking my money. I will forever recommend them to everyone I know. Nick and Boz run a very honest, awesome family business. Thanks, guys!

Ashford Motors began servicing my vehicles in 1994. I moved away in 2006 to Willis, TX but have continued to use their service and drive 60+miles each way several times per year for service and repairs. I fully trust Boz to get the job done right because I don't have time to drive back for a second bite out of the apple. I have referred many friends to Ashford Motors over the years, especially ladies who felt ripped off when they used other shops and were sold repairs they did not need. Many of them have taken the time to let me know they appreciated the referral and that they were completely satisfied with the service and courteous manner and respect they received. I usually sit in their front office while my repairs are made and I see the manner in which they deal with other customers, most of whom are folks who have trusted them as long as I have for their fair and knowledgeable service. TWENTY FIVE YEARS WITHOUT A PROBLEM.

I fear going to the mechanic the way some people fear going to the dentist. I knew there were quite a few issues with my vehicle, but every time I've taken it somewhere, it was that everything was going to kill me if I didn't spend thousands of dollars right now. Not here. I told Boz my situation, and he and his team prioritized the work, making safety and passing inspection the first priority, and then preventive work, and then what will make things more comfortable. I paid a fair price, to say the least, and my vehicle was ready within 24 hours, inspection passed. And it drives wonderfully! All the creeks, wobbles and noises are gone. Ashford Memorial Auto Repair has certainly made a loyal customer out of me.

This is a very honest and knowledgeable auto repair shop. My family has taken our Mini to them on two occasions to day, and they have done first-rate, professional work. I believe the business if family owned and run, and everyone in the business is gracious, appreciative of the customer, and seeking to provide good service. They do excellent and intelligent repair work: they research, diagnose, and repair the actual problem. In contrast, many shops only seek to do volume business of replacing parts as quickly as possible. They excel in all makes and models, and know how to repair many of the less-common makes and models, like Minis.

  • Halee Scott

I have been taking my car to Ashford Memorial for a few years now, and I have never had any issues with them whatsoever. They have never recommended something that my car didn't need and I know that I can trust them on recommendations and pricing. They are genuinely some of the nicest, most honest people I have ever met and are great mechanics, too! A few months back my car needed to be towed to them with battery issues. They worked hard to clean and repair my cables instead of just having to get them replaced - saved me around $200! Highly recommended.

  • Eric Stephens

These men do excellent work at very fair prices. You will find them amicable to working through solutions so that you are able to achieve your goals whether it is maintenance in a preventative sense or catastrophic failure. I couldn't say enough good things about this automotive shop. Ask for Boz or Nick, they're fluent in several languages and a pleasure to talk to... I could not emphasize enough these are not your average mechanics! They are efficient, compassionate, and display a high level of critical reasoning to solve unique situations.

  • Paul Sarrat

The owner (Boz) and my brother are University of Houston Fraternity Brothers. Boz and his family have always taken GREAT care of us. They are fair, extremely honest and do excellent work. There is no misleading or making up issues that don't exist like the majority of the other mechanics do. I strongly believe in Boz and his family and would strongly reccomend any and everyone taking their vehicles to him. Christian based company that Truely cares about his customers. He is my mechanic for Life!

  • Karl Reusora

  • Mike Geelhoed

I was driving home from Houston to San Antonio and my engine light came on because my cylinder had a misfire (something that had happened previously so I knew exactly what it was). I pulled in at 3 in the afternoon, they took care of me immediately with a spark plug replacement, and I was back on the road at 3:30, and made it home safely in time for dinner in San Antonio. I can't thank them enough for their immediate and friendly service!

  • Homer Simpson

The best mechanics. Good prices. Very friendly and nice people. No up selling or trying to trick you into buying unneeded parts and repairs. Fixed my brakes for a low price. Took my AC in to be fixed, and they told me I forgot to press in the button. No charge and no up sell of things I don't need. Then they told me my inspection sticker was about to expire and offered to do the inspection. There are no donuts.

  • Justin Treaster

Do not use this place. They make a list of every little thing they can fine and tell you ; you have to pay that to get your car fix. They call it a hit list. Even if some of the pair can wait for a later time . The average bill there is $1, 000. Dollars.
