So disappointed in the City of Albuquerque in their general care of the City parks, this park in particular. The tennis courts are absolutely not maintained. They are cracked, the top layer is torn up and flaking off throughout. The trees surrounding the courts are not maintained, so the debris falls into the courts. For such an otherwise lovely park in a very expensive neighborhood that is used by so many people, it is shameful that the city cannot find a way to take care of the courts taxpayers would like to use and pay for. They are unusable for anything that resembles tennis.

I grew up only a few blocks west of Altura so I may be a little biased. But hey! It, and the well kept neighborhood surrounding, survived my friends and I skating the days away and partying through the night. Those formidable teen years filled with angst would not have been the same without the tranquil backdrop of this park. And today it still holds true! Nice to see the young next generation enjoying it as much as we did... 40 years later.

It is a very good park with trees and areas of shade, tennis courts, space for the kids and there are usually groups of people who are playing volleyball and you can join them. At least on Saturday mornings, there are soccer games of local teams and might be a bit crowded but still is woth it to go and have a nice day outside alone or with the family

Park looks and feels much nicer now that renovations are done even if it still remains as a place for people to walk their dogs and children to play. Walk to the east end of the park for one of the best views of the Sandias within a residential area, with (still) few to no two-story houses that may block the views.

Nice, clean park with lush grass and shade. The playground equipment is lower and safer than most parks in ABQ, and suitable for my toddler without intense supervision. The tennis courts looks well cared for, there are plenty of shaded tables and benches spread out and I saw at least 6 roadrunners.

This is a clean park. I was able to navigate the entire park, in the dark, without my glasses. Not once did I roll my ankle, or step in a hole, or get surrounded by bums who are after your spare change. It is peaceful, well kept, and very quiet. The grounds keepers do a beautiful job. Thank you!

Kids, soccer, tennis, lots of good looking people. I like all the trees with memorial plaques. It aids in a sense of peace, and wonder. One od them said the guy had beed exercising their for 39 years before he passed, I could almost feel him in the breeze. Crazy!! Love love that place..

Nice park to go for a walk, large trees ring (triangulate?) the edge of the park and it is very popular for a walk. A good place to go if you like to see other people out and about when you go for a walk. There are also lots of nice places within the park for a picnic.

  • Michael Fleming

Quite a nice park in a tucked away neighborhood. Was up very early and running errands with the dog, so we stopped there for a cool morning walk and sniff session. Worked out great. If you're in the neighborhood, it's well worth stopping and enjoying the trees.

Very relaxing park to have visited for a hour.I went to go exercise with a friend. It was raining but that didn't stop us from getting a work out.Probably would not go unless I end up being on that side of town but it is a very nice park for all ages.

I was playing tennis and a little toddler and a homeless dude came running in and started screaming, me and my friend ran, we went to the playground which is far too small for adults, had a very bad time, the playground didn't even have dipping dots

  • Christian Denny

It's in a really nice neighborhood. This always people running, walking or biking around it. It provides a jungle gym, tennis courts and grassy fields. The grass is really nice too. I really enjoy coming and jogging or playing football here.

  • Morgan Ramirez

The park was nice a lot of people out but not crowded. Its nice to see family's out enjoying life through all the caos that goes on in the world. Very peaceful setting i recommend going to anyone just wanting to relax and get outside

  • Naga Appani

A great place to walk, play, and relax surrounded by a great neighborhood. It's very well maintained, there are tennis courts and also lots of space for other sporting activities like soccer... A great park overall!!

  • Rob Mangone

Great hidden gem in the city! Mature trees, great grass to play on or rest, and lots to do. Thursday night with music and great food trucks just make it a perfect place to hangout at! Take the family and enjoy!

  • Katie Fitter

This review is specifically for the playground. The equipment is in terrible shape. It bakes in the sun all day, which makes it unusable. Such a wonderful park, but the playground needs a major upgrade.

  • John Ballenthin

A spacious park with trees and much shade. A couple of tennis courts. Grassy surface for playing or picnics. Multiple picnic tables. Surrounded by low speed limit roads in a quiet residential area.

  • Keola C

Chilly that morning but the only thing that is bad is the streets become one lane around the park when busy so it can get hectic. Your day will depend on your patience as well as others haha

  • Duane Ross

I just recently discovered Thursday's at Altura Park. Friends and families were set up all around while a line musician played guitar and sang. A truly lovely evening in Albuquerque.

Like a sports stadium or dive bar, come with the crowd and leave with the crowd and you'll be fine. .5 miles around, and a good tracker for running and walking

  • Barry Ore

This is a wonderful, quiet, large community park with tennis courts, playground, open space, and a treeline all the way around that provides plenty of shade.

  • John Ballenthin

Spacious, tennis courts, soccer or football practice for grade schoolers, picnic tables, lots of trees and shade, traffic is sparse and slow. No restrooms
