I love shopping at A1 Tropicals, I learn something new every single time I’m there. The staff are highly professional, friendly and above all knowledgeable. I’m still very new to the Tropical fish world and until now I have found it very difficult to find a business with staff who know exactly what they are talking about and can offer good solid practical advice. Knowing that I can trust the staff at A1 Tropical is so important and on a number of occasions they could have sold me expensive products that I really didn’t need, but they didn’t. I wouldn’t have known any different but instead they shared their experience by showing me the best and most affordable way to keep my aquarium in pristine condition. I will continue to visit A1 Tropical and I would definitely recommend this business to anyone looking for fabulous service, products and of course beautiful fish.

My absolute favorite fish shop in Adelaide, fantastic selection of freshwater fish, great quality cichlids, community fish, dwarfs and some pretty rare breeds. Worth a drive to have a look at their expansive selection. Both Kyle and Nick have always been super helpful and go the extra mile with their knowledge to help with whatever questions I throw at them. If you want service that goes beyond just selling this is where you come. I can never remember all the fish I have, so I bring along a photo and Nick 9/10 will remember what fish he sold me last time anyway. He will then help choose fish that will be suitable for your current mix, instead of just selling you what you think might work, but could lead to stressed fish and even worse dead ones. Do yourself a favour and visit A1 when starting or stocking your tank!!

The best for beginners and experienced fish enthusiasts. My partner and I just started our first tank and we have been given alot of really bad advise from other stores, as we found out after some googling. We went down to A1 because of their 5 star google raiting and we're extremely impressed. Kyle was awsome! He spent so much time with us he asked heaps of questions and he never made us feel stupid for not knowing things. The selection of fish here is amazing so many to choose from and not just the normal every day stuff you get at other stores. Prices are cheap, but you are also paying for quality. Great experience will definitely make the trip down from Mt Barker again!

Some fish where over priced but they had some truely gorgeous cats, plecos and rams. I bought two kilifish fry and theyre absolutely thriving in my tank! Theyve grown amazing and i cant get over the colours on them! I bought two plants in gel cups. The grass the girl recommend is growing and spreading fabulously but the anubis is well screwed. It hasnt grown at all and is very dull and lifeless compared to my intense anubis. Not their fault though. They have some gorgeous fish and i wish i had a bigger tank for some of those cats

What a fantastic place. This place has thriving with the new management. The previous grumpy owner has left and since then this place has definitely won me as a customer. I used to go to other aquariums in south side of the city but now I have an aquarium close to my home that has a good variety of fish and great team to support my hobby. They have healthy good quality fish for a reasonable price. What else you could asked for!

By far the best aquarium/fish shop in the whole of Adelaide. All the other aquarium/pet shops triple the price of their fish but at A1 they sell their ram cichlids (the best fish species) for 9 bucks! Amazing. Even the pet barn on the same road sells their rams for double the price. I'd like to buy all the fish to support them but there is only so much I can keep!

A young man greeted me soon as I walked in the door and asked how can he help me today, I told him I was after a baby Oscar for my small tank that I had set up for til he's big enough to join the rest of my tropical fish in a 6ft tank. Best fish store ever! The employees are very helpful and the tanks are in pristine condition. We had bought all our fish from this shop and none of them died. All fish are extremely healthy. Even a beginner could come to this place and get the correct type and amount of fish for their tank. Thanks for the AMAZING service!
