Really wish I read the lower reviews before making an appointment here. Was referred here by a family member. Like many of the other reviews I had the same experience of getting the first exam, the dentist finding some issues, then they bring you into the boiler room and try to pressure you into paying for 5-10 visits all up front, to the tune of over 3000 dollars. If you decline they will bring the Dr in to try and close the deal. Very relentless and felt like a car dealer trying to sell an extended warranty of underbody coating. For me they wanted to do 2 cavity fills, 4 laser gum treatments with deep cleaning, and a cap. I did everything except for the cap. On my 2nd cavity fill a 2nd dentist I have not had before was putting on the pressure to get the cap. I told him I was going to get a 2nd opinion since the cap was close to 1500 out of pocket. After that he was very offish and did not seem happy about that. He rushed through my cavity fill, and at the same time I complained that the cavity fill from a few weeks ago was hurting. He blew me off "we will look at it next time". This is when I decided I was done with this place. Fast forward to 6 months after my last visit here. I chewing some gum and the first of the 2 cavities I had filled here came out. So I ended up going back to a different dental office that I stop going to since they were farther away and less convenient to go to. They compared my x-rays I took from 3 years ago and confirmed that fill from recent and not a cavity from before I moved here. So 500 dollars later I had to get that repaired. Granted A+ did offer to repair that (before the cavity fell out, it was hurting) but only AFTER I wanted a refund for my last cleaning since I did not want to go here any more. They did have some very good dental hygienist who did a good job. Many of the big turn offs compared to the few dental offices I have had in he past: the front staff seems pretty disorganized. Every dental office I have been to they know who you are based on your appointment time and chart. This one does not, you are just another customer at what feels like a fast food chain of dentistry. You will also have to wait a while in the waiting room, often past your appointment time. Every visit you will probably get someone different, different doctor, different hygienist. Since getting my first exam here I have had TWO second options and sets of x-rays, neither saw a need for a cap. I really wish I just paid for a 2nd opinion before paying the 1500+ for their services.

I’ve been going to A+ Family dentistry for about 6 months. So far my experience has been good, super easy to make the first appointment especially since it was an emergency. The office staff are always super sweet and friendly. Dr. Justine and the hygienists are extremely gentle and careful with their cleanings and procedures. I do have to say Dr. Justine will make things right if anyone there at the office makes a mistake. If it wasn’t for her fixing an issue with my Invisalign retainers I’d be writing a different review. But Dr Justine really went above and beyond with correcting the issue. What happened was, they took out my permanent retainer (permanent retainer had been ruining my teeth and I wanted it off for years) and did a scan of my teeth to get an Invisalign retainer instead. I waited 3 months for it but at that point my teeth had moved and were getting crooked. I called they office and somehow Invisalign couldn’t make the molds because there were gaps in my scans and so they needed to get my teeth scanned again. At this point I’m worried because my teeth had moved. When my retainer is ready, it’s ready within a week but it’s a mold of my crooked teeth. At this point I’m upset because I wasn’t going to pay $700 for my teeth to stay crooked. So I tell this to Dr. Justine and she comes up with a plan to put my first scans and last scans together to cover up the missing parts from my first scans. I know she spent days doing this and without even charging me. She said it’s the first time she’s ever had to do this for a patient. My new retainers came in and it worked! I’m so grateful. My teeth are finally going back to the way they looked before. I know this review was a little bit of a roller coaster but the point is, Dr. Justine and her staff are extremely accommodating. And because of how great they are with handling my cleanings I will be going back there for as long as I live in San Diego. Even if I have to pay a little extra, it’s worth it. It’s really hard finding a good dentist office who actually listens and cares about their patients.

I have never written a review in my entire life, but my advice would be: read all of 1 and two star reviews before deciding to come here. I was a patient here for a few years before I realized what this place is really up to. For example, they are extremely forceful and put so much pressure on you (on the spot) that is very difficult to make decisions because you want to trust them. After having braces as a child and going to the dentist regularly for my entire life (AND I wear my retainers from having braces), when I came into a cleaning - after being a patient for 2+ years - they told me I needed Invisalign. I was open to a conversation/consultation, and in that consultation they didn't answer any of my questions or explain why it would cost $5k. I left there feeling so confused and pressured and in that meeting (that I thought was a consultation), they pressed me to sign up for a credit card and charged me $5k. After leaving, I realized I made a huge mistake, but since it was as consultation I thought I could change my mind, but the 5K charge was already pending on the account. I asked for an itemized receipt of charges and they refused to give me that multiple times when I called and told them I needed to think about it (and because I absolutely didn't need Invisalign). After many phones calls and emails, I finally got them to cancel the charge and the credit account but I am NEVER going back. Be careful!

I have been going here for about a year. I had one cavity filled and I get cleanings done every 3 months. It's slightly more expensive and out of the way of other dentists I have tried, but it is worth it. I have had a complicated dentist history and A LOT of bad experiences with dentists. I have seriously seen at least 13 different dentists and establishments. I feel comfortable here, everyone on all levels communicates with me and it is a very well run establishment. I adore my hygienist Claudia and schedule my appointments around her. One time they messed with one of my appointments a few times, I came in and they said Claudia was booked. I was very annoyed because I rearranged my schedule so that I could see Claudia specifically. They were extremely apologetic, tried to make it work for me, and in the end I settled for a different hygienist that day. She was AMAZING. I felt so silly for making a stink. I've just had so many bad experiences with hygienists and dentists, I was scared to see one other than Claudia. I was so impressed with the attention to detail and professionalism of everyone there, every time I go. I feel HEARD there. So I pay more and drive 20 minutes out of the way to go there.

Where do I begin. This place is so amazing! To start the customer service is impeccable. On my first visit they welcomed me and made me feel like I’ve been going there my whole life! When I talked to the dentist she informed me of everything that was going on with my mouth! She provided me with several options, solutions and information to the work that I need to get done. She was very informative! The second appointment it got even better my dentist Dr. Gladvin made me feel at ease . Check this out he even turned on the chair to massage me! When he numbed me to get ready for my procedure. He could understand that I was uncomfortable with needles . But he made it painless and quick . Let me tell you that the work is spectacular! This is by far the best dentist I have been to! They text you for appointment conformations and tell you that they are looking forward to seeing you. Did I mention the the great music selection and great assistants ! This will forever be the place I choose and I know that if you get services here you will too.

I recently got my wisdom teeth removed. The whole experience was traumatic and frankly completely unacceptable. I trusted the dental clinic to provide me with the service that was promised on numerous occasions: a gentle extraction, where I would be 80-90% sedated, and would not feel a thing. Instead, I laid there for over an hour wide awake while my impacted teeth were ripped out. The massive amount of pressure, pulling, and cracking was unbearable. I’m very aware of the implicit bias in the medical field and don’t feel that my screaming, crying, and hyperventilating was taken seriously. As medical professionals it is your responsibility to provide the service that was promised and that I paid for. Previously I had nothing but praise for A+ dentistry but would now warn anyone from entering this experience. If you could not provide the service that was promised then I should have been referred to a surgeon that could offer IV sedation versus offering false promises all so you could keep the money in house. Shame on you.

This place is absolutely amazing! Carlos from the front desk to Princess who just did my deep cleaning, they’re stunning. Amazing attitudes and reassuring personalities! Made me feel so comfortable and happy thank you guys for everything!!! Okay! I made the previous one quick in the office but now that I'm home I can write a detailed amazing experience I just had there :)! Princess is an absolute DOLL. I have a huge phobia of needles and I needed to do two rounds of deep cleaning with laser so that's a good amount of numbing we had to do and she was just the best!! She is so comfortable to be with and she walks you through it so well. First one was last week and second round was today and my mouth feels soooo much better. Not sore at all and honestly excited to go back and get them checked with no anxiety:)! This office is just full with a bunch of good hearted friendly people it's almost unreal LOL thank you so much for the best dentistry everrrrr :)!!

I've had worse dentists than A+. But I've also had better. They are very organized, and their appointment system is easy to work with. The problem is I couldn't get out of there without a sales pitch on some procedure that costs 5k that "I don't really need, but could use because it might prevent issues later". First it was 'come in 3 times a year". Tried that, still got cavities. Of course every time it ended in a sales pitch. Then it was flouride every time. Then it was Invisalign. Then it was a mouth guard. I know I don't grind my teeth at night, I've never had a hygienist tell me I do and that was the last straw. Nobody should be pushing $5k products that cause years of discomfort to patients unless they actually need it. It started feeling more like I was going to a used car dealer than a dentist and I started to seriously question how much their intention was about profit and how much they actually cared about the quality of life of their patients.

The best dentist I’ve ever been to!! They are all very nice, seem happy, and make you feel welcome each visit! They have personalized the room for me almost every time by writing my name on a small white board. They put as much care on your teeth as any other doctor would. The BEST HEALTH CARE SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO Honestly, better than any doctor I went to in SD. Dr. Janice is very caring. It seems like she takes good care of everyone here, even her co-workers! Everyone is very thorough and she makes sure everyone does their best! Princess has the most kind, soft spoken, gentle, and understanding soul. She is the best for cleanings! You are able to see your teeth on a computer screen above, where they have offered me to watch movies on as well!! You can also listen to music!! They always want the very best for you and always try to make it work. There was also someone on site who helped me with the finances part of it all. More like A+++++ dentistry!!

Tried this place with my boyfriend since it is close to home and we will never be back. There is a “finance office” where a pushy sales consultant takes you in the room and tries to upsell you on everything and LIE about the condition of your teeth. They tried to tell my boyfriend he had seven cavities and needed all this extra gum treatment for nearly $2000. I sat in the office when the sales consultant was trying to sell him on this and I knew it was all a scam. If you’re wearing Gucci shoes and expensive jewelry in a “dentist” office, I know you’re trying to make some commission off me. Felt like a used car lot rather than a dentist office. My boyfriend and I went to another office I had been to before that is much farther from home and both of our gums and teeth were completely fine. Needless to say, we will be making a long commute to go to an office we trust rather than this cash grab of a place.

I am normally not a confrontational person but I feel it is important to share my experiences. I went in for a checkup and my thought was because I have a dental insurance, the checkup would be free...as it usually is in any other office. The conversation of payment did not come up at all until the end of the checkup. A few weeks after, I received a $111 billing. I am very disappointed and feel very deceived. I feel like costs should have been discussed prior to the checkup itself. They had my insurance and everything...it feels really unethical to me that they didn't tell me beforehand. I wonder if they think that $111 is an insignificant amount? Because I'm very certain it is for many of us...that's like a whole week's worth of food for my family gone because I naively stepped into their dental office. For anyone reading this. Please...really think hard and long before you decide to visit.

I always look forward to coming to A+ Family Dentistry. The office space is inviting with really nice decor. The equipment used is top notch. But what makes the experience pleasant each time are the people in the office. Everyone is really great, from front staff to the dentists. I never feel pressured to do anything I'm not comfortable with, and I always feel that the end goal is to keep good maintenance so I'll only need to come back for routine cleanings. It's great to hear the staff tell me that they have patients who've been with them for years and they only see them routine cleanings. That tells me two things: 1. They're not trying to get me do any unnecessary procedures. 2. They have great service and their patients keep coming back ( me included!) Lastly, Danielle is the best! She has a soft touch and always remembers my little quirks. This place is awesome!!

My husband went there for a $99 special deal for a basic exam and cleaning. They said he had 4 cavities, needed a deep cleaning, and one of his molars was cracked so it would need to be pulled out. It may cost close to $5000. They were pushing him with the panoramic treatment like a vulture, not a professional doctor. They did not clean his teeth stating that it would need to be a deep cleaning. If they offer you a deep cleaning and refuse to do a simple routine, think twice. We went to a different dentist's for a second opinion. No cavities were found. They cleaned his teeth(not a deep cleaning), extracted the cracked molar, and we are going back in two weeks for follow-up. Everyone was nice and professional there. We do not like unprofessional sales pitches. If any treatment is truly necessary, we are willing to pay but not for this dentistry.

What a terrific experience as a new client for A+ Family Dentistry. Their name reflects the quality of service and care you receive as soon as you walk through their doors. I’ve never had a dental office be as thorough as A+ was. From sending multiple reminders and confirmations about my appointment, to showing informative videos, photos, and a closeup view of my teeth, I feel like I learned more about my dental health in my first visit here than all the visits I’ve had combined over the years. Dr Janice is an absolute sweetheart and made me feel as though I’ve known her forever. I’m actually looking forward to my next visit here, which is the first time I think I’ve ever said that about a dental office! I highly recommend them.

From the reception staff to the dentists themselves, A+ Family Dentistry in San Diego really made me feel welcome and truly outdid themselves with some of the best customer service I have received. They are very knowledgeable and take the time to explain all the procedures and costs in detail. The receptionists are very accommodating and assist with all the insurance forms and requests that I have had. With regard to the services themselves, Dr. Victor spared no effort to ensure my comfort and complete satisfaction. Pushy sales consultant forced me to pay for the procedure before I even had to budget for the holidays, my birthday, I have court fees and I just paid rent. She applied for care credit and I didn't even get the care credit break down. She took me to the front desk of the office asking how I am going to pay in front of everyone. I was madly embarrassed. . Why would anyone do this with checking with the patient to see if it's okay. Heart less. Update after response since there is no reply back. I actually called in and canceled all my apps, express the distasteful, sales tactic to the receptionist and left a message to have you guys call me back. Don't be hesitant to reach out to me.

Claudia is a great hygienist! I was only due for my teeth cleaning, not an exam, however she noticed that my recession seemed much worse so she quickly grabbed a doctor to look. Sure enough, my root was almost exposed and they recommended I get a filling done ASAP, and they even were able to fit me in later that day with Dr. Janice who I’ve been seeing for the past year! I really appreciated this since it’s very difficult for me to get time off work. The staff at A+ Family Dentistry really care about their patients and try to make them feel as comfortable as possible. I highly recommend them for your oral and orthodontic needs! Dr. Janice is very skilled in Invisalign as well!

Just moved to San Diego and looking for a new dentist? Did you get a flyer from A+ in the mail? Throw it away and RUN. Do not let the good reviews fool you. I’m assuming that patients were pressured into leaving positive reviews just like they pressure patients into unnecessary treatments. I went in there for a regular cleaning and was told I have 4 cavities and needed a deep cleaning because my gums were so bad. I denied the deep cleaning and was immediately shunned by the staff. Got a second opinion and was told my gums are absolutely fine and a deep cleaning would do more harm than anything. Absolute cash grab. DO NOT GO HERE. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

I’m one of the many who didn’t get to go to the dentist much as a kid, so I’m getting a lot fixed later in life. Everyone at the office is so kind, so understanding, and they strive to have you looking and feeling your best. Their work is very thorough and detailed, they go over every procedure with you to make sure you’re comfortable, and they send reminders for every visit which keeps me on schedule. Going to the dentist (especially as an embarrassed adult) is scary, but everyone at A+ Family Dentistry has done an amazing job of creating a comfortable environment for me to face my fears and take on my dental health with a smile.

I do not remember all their names but Meaghan and the rest of front staff is so friendly and makes checking in and out easy! Dr. Victor, Dr. Lin, Maria & other hygenist with pretty nails (sorry forgot your name) are the BEST! They are gentle and make you feel so comfortable. I've always had a great experience with A+ Dentistry. Very professional, caring and have a comfy office too. From cavities to cleanings they have a great staff. They are also communicative about pricing which I highly appreciate. Shout out to Princess & Ken for keeping my teeth shiny & clean! Update: After not going to the dentist during COVID, they told me I had to get a deep cleaning that was about $400. I was pretty good about cleaning so I was very confused. I felt like they were pushy to the point to where I became highly anxious and uncomfortable. That is something I don't appreciate. I won't be coming back.

I have always had a fear of going to the dentist, but everyone here has been very patient with me and made sure I understood what they were going to do. Berenice one of the hygienists here is wonderful. She made sure I was comfortable the whole time and gave me some good pointers on brushing/flossing. They have a TV for you to watch while you’re getting fillings, helps distract me. Still the dentist isn’t my favorite place to be but I trust everyone here to do great work. This is a place I will commute to even if I move. I highly recommend them if you’re in need of dental care. Wonderful people working here!

I highly recommend this dental office, they meet your needs and they make you feel at home. Everyone in this office is very friendly. I love how they explain everything very thoroughly for you to understand. I also like how they help you with your financial needs for you to get your treatment work done.i was really nervous for my wisdom tooth extraction but they helped me get through it and it was very fast and easy with no pain, that I actually got it taken out and I went back to work with no discomfort. Also my healing/ recovery was very good I didn’t have any problems and I took my medication as needed.

It has been a good while since I have last experienced going to a dentist, A + has made my welcome so easy and very pleasing the whole staff is very friendly and you can tell they really care about your comfort which is much appreciated and they really do thrive to keep with their vision. They do their best to help their clients afford their services, dentists are never cheap and the ticket price I got recently is more than I'd like but they worked with me and I'm not to worried about it and with the care I've been getting here I'm happy to pay it to them. I am a client of the BEST A+ Family Dentistry in San Diego! My experience with this very professional business is without a doubt a miracle for me. At 70 years young I have had more than my share of bad experiences. This is the caring and understanding I have needed and I get that from the entire staff. I tell everyone about them. I’ve been going to A+ Family Dentistry for several years now. Every time I go, I’m always impressed by their incredible service and clean offices. Every hygienist and dentist I’ve seen here is very accommodating and knowledgeable, and is always happy to answer questions or help make you more comfortable. I never get stressed going there, but I really appreciate that they have options for patients who are more sensitive. This office isn’t the cheapest, but they take many forms of dental insurance and their services are well worth it. I highly recommend A+!

I had been with different dentistry in San Diego, but I have never been satisfied with the kind of services they've provided to me. until finally I met Dr Justene Doan, she has an exceptional skills and talent in the dentistry field, she was an amazing, very professional, honest and has a magnetic charm that you will trust her right away. Dr. Doan was blessed to have magnificent, dentist assistant, and staff, working for her-from the reception area to the back office. I would be pleased to recommend A Plus Dentistry to my colanguage, family, and friends.

Always an A+ experience with them! My dental hygienist today (sadly I missed his name) was wonderful. My appointment today was for my scheduled dental cleaning. My hygienist today was exceptional. He was very diligent and patient with my cleaning. He also gave me good pointers and good education on how to improve my cleaning. I usually dread my cleaning appointments before because some clinics don’t give you the time (that’s why I haven’t been to a dentist for years!) but A+ has made my visits wonderful and they always take care of their patients!

Can you love your dentist? At A+ Family Dentistry, you are treated as a person not just a patient. From check-ups to Invisalign to corrective work, I have been very pleased. They act as if I'm a friend every time I go in and, today, I had an emergency crown replacement before I fly out tomorrow for my son's wedding. They squeezed me in and took time to care for me and fix me up as good as new. The front office staff is always welcoming, friendly, professional and kind. Truly customer service and dentistry at it's best! Yup, I'm in love.

So let me first start by saying that I’m not very good when it comes having to go to the dentist I normally avoid it as much as possible. My experience at A+ Family Dentistry how ever has been an amazing one they have taken amazing care of me from day one and it definitely doesn’t have the feel of a dentist office when you come in it’s very comfortable. The staff are amazing and kind from the moment you walk in till it’s time for you to leave. I highly recommend A+ Family Dentistry to anyone looking for a dentist in the San Diego area.

It was a wonderful experience! My teeth was wonderfully polished and takin care of without any problem. The entire process was fluid and flawless. Dr. Victor; who was also my pen doctor was the one who removed my cavity and potential cavities and he did amazing! Along with the assistant, in which she did good too! I recommend this place 100%. They have a video playing above while they're working on your teeth and sometimes they even have massage seats too haha. This place is the best dental I've been to and I can 100% recommend it.

I moved here to San Diego less than 2 years ago from Ohio. I hadn't been to a dentist in over 10 years, so needless to say, I've needed a lot of care. This entire business is run with such detail and care. From the financing, scheduling, and the amazing work of the dentists (especially Dr. De La Cruz. She's phenomenal, if you schedule with her, you're in amazing hands), this is hands down the only dentists office I'll come to. Everyone is so friendly and walks you step by step through every detail. Cannot recommend A+ enough.

The scam of the supposed dental office. Charge me $200 just to tell me I need $6000 worth of work done on my teeth. Useless place. I hope they go out of business they are liken to having a Mercedes Benz with a dead battery, empty gad tank and five flat tires: pointless. You could and should tell people before charging them $200 if insurance will cover the cost of anything. They way they don't spend $200 that could be used elsewhere insurance would cover the cost. I see it has been 5 days no response.

I have been coming here for several years and this is by far the best dentist I have ever gone to. I now have a routine of coming in regularly in keeping my mouth healthy. They are gentle and patient. Everyone is awesome from the front desk, to the hygienists, to the doctors. My favorite hygienist is Berenice, she has been deep cleaning my teeth and gums for a few years now, she keeps me informed and is genuinely concerned for my health. I highly recommend this place to anyone. They're incredible!

I did Invisalign along with dental check ups with Dr. Justine, Dr Janice and Dr Victor. Great job you all, truly committed to your patients. I got the results that I wanted and exactly what we all expected. No hidden costs and fees all was clear from day 1. They guided me step by step through the process. Honestly the best dentist I have ever visited. They have worked with me for over 2.5 years now and my smile has never been better. I am so appreciative of their staff. Very helpful and kind. My 11 yr old son goes here as well and they are incredible with him. I’ve been coming to this practice for years. The staff is always professional, the hygienist are thorough and efficient and the Dr.’s are very knowledgeable. The facility is very clean with a nice, comfortable ambience. They use state-of-the-art equipment for top-notch care. One of my favorite parts is the massaging patient chair! Also, they offer in-house insurance options. I always leave A+ Dentistry feeling refreshed, happy and healthy! Thank you!

We've only had excellent experiences with all staff, hygienists, and doctors- everyone genuinely cares for our health and offers many ways of making this necessary care affordable. I was impressed by the state of the art technology used on my very first visit. They take their time explaining procedures and follow through with next steps. A+ Family Dentistry has a team of professional receptionists and Dental hygienists. Appointments are easy to make and the level of care is awesome. Their team is good about sending reminders for upcoming appointments through phone calls and texts to make sure I am keeping track of my dental care plan. There is nothing negative I could say about their quality of patient care and service. Would absolutely recommend to each and all.

A+ Dentistry is quite a great place for anything dental-related. The staff are very friendly and always up to help you with any challenge. However, I wasn't informed that A+ Dentistry no longer accepted my dental insurance although I was told that they did after multiple visits and had to pay out-of-pocket for my last visit. A+ Dentistry is good, however please be weary of any changes to accepted insurance during your visits.

I really enjoyed my experience at A+ Family Dentistry! I appreciate the staff and my dentist helping me out on my cleaning procedure and making me feel comfortable at the appointment. My dentist helped me by showing how to floss the right way, informing me of different gum diseases, and why it's important to take care of your teeth. I would highly recommend anyone to A+ Family Dentistry to get their teeth taken care of!

I saw dr Sanchez and it was a great experience. He took his time and explained everything as he did his work. He even finished a little early and asked if I was open to doing another filling while everything was out and ready. That was a big deal for me seeing as I am really busy and don’t have alot of time to keep coming back. The entire team is very professional and this will definitely be my dentist from now on.

I’ve been coming to this dental office for over 16 years. All of the staff and doctors make the experience of going to the dentist enjoyable. They are friendly and very helpful with explaining everything you need to know about what is happening inside your mouth. Also bonus they have massage chairs during procedures and a TV overhead so you can distract yourself if needed. They are awesome!

I didn’t have the chance to go here, but my main dentist was booked and I needed an emergency visit, and A+ Family Dentistry was so nice to immediately try and find a spot for me as soon as possible. My main dentist called back so I ended up cancelling (within minutes of my original call) but I really appreciated that, and they clearly care about their patients. Wonderful staff!

They were able to see me immediately and take all necessary actions to ensure maximum comfort. Invisalign had really worked well for me! My teeth were pretty bad and my experience with it is great! Just have to stay up on brushing and flossing after eating and make sure to wear them for the time they want you too. Changing the trays isn’t hard either. My experience overall has been amazing! Just had a cleaning with Princess and she really knew her stuff! I had my wisdom teeth removed about 5 months ago and didn’t even feel it! Everyone is so nice and very knowledgeable. I’m using Invisalign rt now and am glad that I started this, my teeth are straightening nicely. It’s easy to get used to, after having them on for a bit you forget you have them on. Felt like I am in a car dealership. They were pushing deep cleaning and other products on me racking the estimate around $2000-$3000.
