Pete is an amazing vet! He's great with our dog who is really nervous of vets. Pete used to be at the Sutton Park branch of the group and we've followed him to each time he's moved location. A few years ago our last dog developed cancer, he operated and prolonged her life by a number of years. He is compassionate and caring. He is not a particularly chatty man but is phenomenal with the animals so that is not a problem for me. I know some people want/expect a super chatty person but I'd rather a fantastic vet who is quiet and direct that a super chatty one who is sub par. [At a different vets, I encountered a super friendly chatty vet who proceeded to tell me that our late dog had cancer because I was anxious and she needed hemp oil and apricot kernel oil and that I needed to take them too, his friend sold good stuff and that if I do that the dog will be fine in 4-6 weeks. I was anxious cos I had found a lump on my dog. I got a second opinion and saw Pete. He checked our dog over, operated and found the lumps to be cancerous, had them analysed in a lab. The analysis found that it would have spread quickly and killed our dog. Had I followed the "chatty" vet's advice our old girl would not have had the extra few years she did thanks to Pete! Pete is great but not a super chatty person]

Extremely disgusting behaviour from this clinic who missed cancer diagnosis in our cat and were adamant his issue was a broken tooth, the complaints procedure is just as bad, despite having all the blood work (where they again missed information) they condoned the vet's behaviours. We ended up taking our cat to another Vet clinic (same company) in Kingsheath who were extremely helpful and were able to give our cat a accurate diagnosis - I honestly feel this particular branch is concerned about money and nothing more, put my cat though hell having to continuously take him back to this vet, giving him mediation he didn't need, taking more and more money from us - when the illness they were treating wasn't even there! Save your pet the heartache and anxiety by taking them to the Kingsheath branch - who seems to genuinely care for animals! Bridget Harper's negative review below - mirrors our experiences of the Erdington clinic!!

Not the same positive experience as usual. We have been registered with this vet since 2013 and have never had cause for complaint. Recently however our elderly cat became unwell and we thought it was serious. Katarina the vet on duty was very good and started the process of trying to find out what was wrong but after that the whole experience was totally unsatisfactory and in the end I had to chase up blood results and go to one of the other practices to try and arrange the scan to determine what was wrong with our much loved pet. misplaced paper work, some staff who didn't seem to use any initiative and it generally felt disorganised. In the end we went for the scan and had a positive experience at New Hall vet clinic but until sadly our cat had to be euthanized. I'm really sorry to say this but I would be very reluctant to return to the Erdington vet clinic unless there was a significant change.

Called last week asking for eye treatment for my cat that he has had before, due to Covid I couldn’t take my cat to the vet, spoke to the receptionist and she said she would ask the vet if I could get someone to collect the eye drops, the answer was NO, can’t you get a neighbour to bring the car in, my neighbour is 84 erm NO, I said is it about the consultation fee, yes she said, I stated that in this situation we are in I’m sure the vet can issue eye drops, I informed the receptionist that if not then I require the vets name as I would be complaining, refused to give her or the vets name, got a passing friend to get the eye drops. Following day I got a letter telling me to remove my animals from the practice, all because the didn’t get the consultation fee, refused to give contact details for my complaint. ALL I CAN SAY IS BEWARE OF THIS PRACTICE

Normally a superb service, however we took our elderly cat Sasha there on Thursday to have her nails clipped. I normally hold her whilst this happens and we have little fuss, no problems. However, on this occasion the assistant insisted on holding her by grappling her and pressing her down on to the table. It was obvious that Sasha was distressed but the assistant just pushed her further down onto the table and then covered her head with a towel resulting in Sasha being more distressed and eventually urinating all over the table, floor ( and I'm glad to say, on the assistant) Sasha has been bad in the past ( suspected stroke?), for which she seemed to be recovering, however last night she seemed a lot worse again after this dreadful experience. As I said, we normally have a good experience, however I will need a long hard think before we go back.

My 12 year old cat went with my daughter for his yearly vaccination which is one injection. He had two injections. I couldn't understand why so called them. After speaking to them I was told it's two vaccinations mixed together in one injection. If that's the case I can only imagine that they may have been given separately. I no in the scheme of things it may seem silly, but the second injection hurt him and there was no explanation as to why he had two injections. We normally use Castle Bromwich vets, and have never experienced that before

Disgusted with this place they miss diagnosed my dog saying that they had gastroenteritis and we were sent to a different vet for overnight night care because they don’t have the facilities to care for animals overnight only to be told within minutes that my dog had a major infection and sepsis and there was nothing they could do so this place had kept my dog in agony and stress for three hours more then she had to be I will never forgive or recommend them to anyone seriously if you’re pet is sick take them anywhere but here!

  • Charlotte Swinscoe

The male vet there is extremely rude and patronising. Also £44 for a conversation is terrible. The female vet we have seen before is lovely a lady from Romania, fantastic with my rescue dogs and very professional. The male vet didnt even say hello to my dog just took her from me, barely checked her over, after already telling me it was a behaviour issue before checking. I wanted to make sure my dog was not masking any pain. He was so patronising and rude, I am not taking my dogs there again.

I had my beloved family dog Sheena put to rest on the 18th of march 2017 I'd just like to say I can't not thank the clinic enough for the dignity and respect we received , at such an emotional time they were extremely respectful and I couldn't of asked for a better way for my dog to be put at rest also today I received my sheenas ashes back everything was beautiful now I can take her home where she will be with me forever thank you so much from the bottom of my heart forever grateful

  • Gods Watcher

Took my dog here as he’s taken is badly and broken we put a muzzle of our dog the vet was to scared to go near him she didn’t look at it properly and just said “I think it’s broken” sent us out with no bandage nothink to cover up the cut and has charged us over £50 for a bottle of antibiotics that’ I have just googled and can get in most shops for £6 that’s a £44 profit on one bottle of antibiotics that’s discusting you should be ashamed of yourselfs

  • Sarah Sarah

Not the same practice or staff as they have been taken over and the regular vets are no longer there. I took two of my cats for their jabs today and I have no confidence in them. I needed an early appointment and was told 9am, but on the computer it was booked for 4pm!! The vet didn't weigh the carriers and injected in their hind quarters not the neck. I have been going there for the last 8 years but will have to find another practice

Not recommended at all. A Vet Clinic with No rules and no procedures. I travelled all the way from a different area (50 minutes drive) and when I got there I was told that there is not Vet in the clinic and hence they cancelled the appointment. They didn't have the courtesy to phone us and tell us not to come. I wasted my fuel and time. Very disappointed with the clinic.

  • Amanda Louise Smith

It was a rush job, my dog was really, really poorly. But they was really understanding and treated her like she was there own. Put this comment on site about 3 months ago. My dog has since past away. Again they treated her like she was there own, with respect and caring. They did'nt rush me, I was aloud plenty of time with her before. And one more thing Stil miss her!

  • MR TELL IT LIKE IT IS!

Not a good experience. Australian vet was rather arrogant! I really don't know how they can justify the prices they charge. Meds prescribed were £50 each. Online, these were available for way less than half! Real ripoff! The consultation fee was way more than other vets in close proximity. No wonder the other branch closed down. This branch is heading the same way!

  • Jessica Donoghue

Always a good service when we go here. Our pets have been registered here for over 20 years, and luckily we haven't had to take then often. Given three stars as on our most recent visit, the vet room wasn't clean and there was blood on the floor - a real bad idea when cross contamination can occur. Other than that, the staff were absolutely lovely as always x

  • Lisa Boddington

Not happy that I could not go in with my boy despite inside and on the door saying 1 client per animal. They had other instructions on door contradictory to this so I had to wait outside for the few minutes he was inside and was only allowed in to pay. First time at this vets since Green Lane is still closed and think it is lacking in compassion.

  • Freya 77

I was very disappointed after visit Italian vet he give my cat (new kitten) only parasite and fly treatment when I inform him that my new kitten hasn't move at all about 2 days (when another small kitten which we buy was like a volcano) he say that she is dehydrated only and she's scared when she has a injured leg .It's the worst vet ever.

  • stam w

A call-back from vet, he continually spoke over me (couldn't understand what he was saying for most of it, waving phone around?) and as I attempted to interject he switched off the call. Communication/listening skills on this occasion quite appalling. 25yrs+ with this vet practice, since the change to a company chain now reconsidering.

  • Darren Johnson

Was quoted one price for a prescription. Had to chase it up and then when it was finally ready the price had gone up by 50% despite the fact that they had told me a different price and it was the same nurse!! Calls arent recorded so they can do and say what they like. This Vets has really gone downhill in the past few months. Avoid

  • Tina Stockton

I travel several miles to use this practice and to see the vet Peter Rogers . His experience in treating my 14 dogs in the past has been amazing well worth the travel. The staff have been nothing more than perfect to accommodate us. Any vet has high prices and that’s a drawback of having pets but that’s the choice we make!

  • Benjamin Jackson

The vets are very kind and very helpful. We've been taking our dog there for the past 4 years. The receptionists are very kind and they even brought some water for our dog while we were waiting, without us even asking them for it. We appreciate that. I would definitely recommend this veterinary clinic.

  • Celia Burns

I have used this practice since we moved here 25 years ago. My dog has been having ongoing tests and treatment here for six months and I can't fault the care. Katarina has been fantastic at keeping me informed, helping me make decisions and she clearly cares a great deal about her patients.

  • Samantha Wilkinson

I absolutely love this vets simply because the vets and other staff are all so caring towards the animals they care for.All my Cat's and Dog's over the past 15 years have been in their good hands and I wouldn't go anywhere else. 100% a fantastic veterinary practice.Friendly helpful staff.

  • Jane

  • Mandi Gibbon

Thank you to the always amazing Vetinary Clinic Erdington. They squeezed my dog in as an emergency after she punctured her foot. They always treat my dogs so well and I have so much trust in them. They have staff who know my dogs' breed well and the service is always brilliant.

  • Karolina Chalupniczak

The member of staff that did a health check on my pup was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Accused me of god knows what and then didn't leave any time for questions. Treated the dog like a robot Another lady that we had seen before was lovely and great with my dog though!

  • Denise Saul

This practice is absolutely marvellous. We had to have our dog put down before Christmas when Christmas arrived they sent the most beautiful card they are such a wonderful caring team. We will be having another dog soon and we will certainly have them look after him.

  • P Curtis

Took our puppy there for his jabs etc . The staff were extremely polite and helpful. Also the waiting room is pleasant and I found it easy to have a chat to other people waiting to have their pets seen. One of the nicest vets I have been to .
