We are very happy with the care our dog has received over the years he has been attending for his yearly Vaccinations and have always been spoken to politely by all of the staff in the practice and on the phone. We had a diagnosis made last year by them of a condition (laryngeal paralysis) that would gradually deteriorate with time and it could affect Finns ability to maintain his own airway and an acute event could happen at any time. Finn was close to collapse on a walk due to his airway disease but on this occasion he managed to keep his airway patent but I rang the Vets first thing the next morning to express my concern. The receptionist recognised the importance of a prompt review&fitted Finn in that same day. He had a thorough examination&we were advised ultimately Finn needed surgery (off site )on his larynx as his condition had deteriorated but they would like do a blood test prior to a CXR before we made arrangements for surgery at the specialist centre. Unfortunately due to Finns characteristic excitable behaviour around new people he became overly excited at the appointment for his blood test and lead to his airway obstructing due to his laryngeal paralysis. This has been something we have been aware can happen at any time due to the nature of the disease and Finns airway had already temporarily closed off whilst on a walk. Because we hadn’t yet opted for surgery Finns airway was always at risk. Finn required urgent emergency care at the Vets and the treatment Finn received was faultless. The Vets&Nurses acted quickly to preserve Finns life. The team of Vets kept us informed of what was happening at all times they were kind and caring and were very empathetic. It was a distressing time as owners but the way the Team cared for us and Finn made it much less of a stressful experience. Rebecca was incredible and we could see how experienced and professional she is and has the very best interests of the animals in her care. Rebecca was calm and clear with the options we had and supported our decision making as owners. Rebecca saved Finns life by inserting an ET to maintain his airway and drove Finn under anaesthetic with 2 Nurses to The Willows for emergency surgery on his larynx. If Rebecca and the Team hadn’t have given this life saving treatment it is certain Finn would not be alive today. Post survey Finn has been back for check ups and the team have been friendly and welcoming, giving Finn fuss and have asked how his recovery was going on the phone. They are a passionate and lovely team and we are so grateful for everything they have done for Finn.

All started off well. I called up on the Tuesday to ask about the puppy starter pack and was advised how it works and what the cost covers. I mentioned that I think my puppy might have an ear infection and the advisor told me I would be able to call back when we’re paid and book the starter pack. I would have to pay additional charges for the medication if she needed them. I called again today to book my appointment I was told that I would have to pay a consultation fee on top of the £75 because she may not Be vaccinated. I explained I was advised we could bring her in and we could talk to the vet during the starter park about pups ears. The advisor placed me on hold and asked a Vet to come and speak to me, she was very rude and condescending and kept saying there was no way I had been advised this. I then said that’s ok thank you I’ll take my pup else where as I’ve been told different things. I suffer with anxiety so this made me wary as it’s not a good start. I was then called back a few moments after disconnecting the call to have the Vet imply I was a liar, that I had spoken to her best nurse so there is defiantly no way I would of been told this. I explained that that is fine that is how they want to be I would prefer to take my puppy else where. The vet continued to be Rude until the call ended I repeated several times I just wanted to take my business else where. It’s boarder line harassment to call a client back after being told we don’t want to do business with them anymore. When calling to say I wanted to make a complaint we was told there was no ombudsman we was told there is not one. If we wanted to raise a complaint we can email the head of service directly. I was already speaking with the head of Service and she kept repeating how I had misunderstood the situation. I feel it’s unprofessional to call clients back after terminating business and keeping complaints in your practice to make sure they can’t go any further is also wrong. They come across as a place that would like to charge what they want and how ever much they feel on the day.

I have been using this vets since 2020 for my rabbits. In lockdown I couldn’t find a vet to operate on my bunnies due to everywhere being busy. Rebecca agreed to neuter my two bunnies if we used them in the future. Their were some complications in the surgery but overall went alright. Unfortunately, one of my rabbits broke his leg in 2021 so we took him back to oaks and Rebecca advised we had it amputated as the option of getting it repaired somewhere else would be expensive. This is would not have been the best option for my bunny and was convenient as if I didn’t use oaks the money would go elsewhere!! Recently at a routine appointment Rebecca stated ‘we have a problem’ she started to explain a problem he had with his ear due to being a lop rabbit. She then told us the only cause of treatment would be to operate on his ear leaving him with a hole that we could later clean. She was handling him quite ruffly to the point I thought he may be injured. She had no care for my rabbit. This is a very invasive and costly procedure so we were unsure. She gave us no other options and insisted we have it done so he doesn’t get an infection. We then went to seek two second opinions in which they assured us his ear is completely healthy and the cause of him scratching was due to skin mites and simply gave us a spot on treatment. I am appalled at the way Rebecca treated my bunny and unsure what she would’ve done to him if I had gone ahead with this procedure. I am disgusted that as a pet owner I put trust in this veterinary centre and I feel violated. I will NOT be returning here and would advise you not to either for your pets welfare. This is a money driven business with no morals.

We moved our three pets to Oaks from another nearby veterinary clinic because we were concerned that the financial side was dictating their treatment. We are very happy with the the care that our dogs and cat are receiving at Oaks and the treatment is always realistic and appropriate. The cost of identical procedures is substantially lower at Oaks compared to where we used to take our pets and the communication is much better. Our 16-year old cat was very unwell last year and when we were taking him to Oaks we were preparing for the worst. At the examination he was diagnosed to be suffering with diabetes, but Rebecca was optimistic that we had a good chance to get him back to a healthy state. She explained clearly the process, cost and possible outcomes and this helped us to make a decision easily. We went ahead with the treatment and for the following few weeks we were in daily communication to adjust the insulin dose according to the sugar readings we were getting from a sensor Rebecca fitted on him. A year later, he is now 17 and in remission from diabetes. Other than being on a special diet he is still going strong. My wife and I, find our visits to Oaks to be pleasant experiences and we never had any issues with the service we have received there. It is a busy practice but we never feel rushed and we are always treated respectfully. I have no hesitation in recommending Oaks to anyone with a pet.

100% recommend After regularly visiting Vets 4 Pets (the Pets at Home vets branch), I searched for a rabbit specialist in Birmingham as I didn't trust the opinion I was given at Vets 4 Pets. When I came across Oaks, I brought in Smokey who had gone very quiet and not herself. Rebecca quickly identified the problem, clearly very experienced in recognising signs and symptons, and handling rabbits. Long story short, Smokey is back to normal thanks to Rebecca's diagnosis and treatment! Unfortunately, I then had to take Nibbles in - who had lost a lot of weight, and seemed to have an injury. I made the difficult but well-informed decision to put her to sleep, after a very open and honest discussion with Rebecca - who helped me by sharing her views on the situation. The very sad situation was dealt with very well by the whole team, with Rebecca sorting my payment prior to the treatment so I was able to leave straight away. Finally, I have just received this card in the post offering condolences for the loss of Nibbles - which is such a lovely gesture it brought me to tears all over again. So thoughtful that they've taken the time to do this. Absolutely will continue to take all of my pets here from now on. Thank you to Rebecca and the team for all of your help.

We have been with The Oaks for over 8 years with all three of our pets. We have 2 cats and a Cocker spaniel, and honestly I wouldn't trust anyone else with the care of our trio. Our cat Ginny was seriously injured years ago and they saved her life. Not only that but we had an abroad holiday at the time, and they helped us to look after her and had photos sent so we were reassured she was okay the whole time. She is now at the grumpy age of 8. Recently Rebecca has been supporting us with our cocker spaniel with an ear infections and recently being spayed. We were so anxious, but Rebecca and the team did an amazing job with a neat operation, loads of care and information and helped us to make the decision through sharing research and information that really helped us. I wouldn't trust them with anyone else and I've even recommended my family to use them too, and my sister also has her dog and cat registered with them. Niamh is now a fan of squeezy cheese! Nicki is also amazing, and between them and the whole team we know if we need any support then they are there to help.

After leaving my previous vets due to lack of knowledge and being unprofessional. My German shepherd puppy at 12 weeks old was severely poorly! I registered with oaks the same day I was given an appointment. The vet told me upon my arrival she read up before my puppy arrived, regarding his symptoms. I was so upset that my boy was getting worse and worse after £400 with my previous vets! Rebecca at oaks was amazing! She done her research and thoroughly checked him over! We walked away with medication for his diagnosis! I can’t thank oaks enough, the day after our visit I seen my little boy with his sparkle back! Great team! Great reception also that got me registered that day and was seen straight away! What a loving caring team you have! I’m forever thankful x I need to add also… Rebecca the vet told me to call her, even on her day off to let her know how my puppy was doing! Keep up the great work, love and support oaks, you by far are delivering the care us animal owners need

I was recommended this practisce by a colleague a few months ago. I called the practice to register our two dogs and they told me we would be notified when the transfer is made by our previous vet. I drove to the practice yesterday to enquire about it since we had no idea whether the dogs had been registeted and a lady with tattoos on her arms was at the reception desk. I explained to her that I was looking to find out if my dogs had been registered with their practice and in a blasé way ignored my request and asked me back if I wanted to book an appointment. I asked her to listen to me and I repeated myself explaining that I was not sure if our dogs had been registered with their practice and that we had not received any confirmation. She replied in a disparaging way that this is not how they operate. I asked her to explain to me how they operate and stared back at me in bewilderment. Not a great start. Please OVC train your staff to be engaging and polite.

I'm so impressed and pleased with the prompt and thorough care my little dog has received here. I honestly couldn't thank vet Rebecca enough for everything she has done. Not only did she get to the root of his health issues in less than a week when it had gone undetected at a different vets for months if not years, but she was able to explain everything to me in detail, answer every question I had and would also be kind and understanding whenever I became upset or worried regarding numerous concerns. For me, this goes a long way. The nurses I have spoken to or encountered have been absolutely wonderful. All with lovely manners and a nurturing disposition. If you want your pet to receive great medical care and you appreciate professionalism within a caring environment then I highly recommend Oaks Venterinary Centre. I honestly can't envision taking my dog anywhere else from now on and don't plan on doing so.

Oaks took care of our cocker spaniel for nearly 15 years. In particular the vet nurses / reception staff are never too busy to offer advice or just listen and when we lost our dog in September they couldn't of been kinder, even down to the card they sent us it was so appreciated and we were very touched. I have just got French Bulldog puppy and I have already been calling for advice which as usual nothing is too much trouble and will certainly only be using Oaks. As for comments on Rebecca, she is a person who says it how it is and like all of us when we know we are in the wrong (spoiling our dogs and making them fat) we don't like to hear the truth, so if that isn't for you just make an appt with another vet at the practice

  • Susan Guyll

I was recommended to Rebecca at The Oaks by a nearby Rabbit Rescue centre, as we had a really poorly bun who was refusing to eat or drink for two weeks. Even though they were not taking on new patients she agreed to see us, as we had been through 4 places with absolutely no success in a diagnosis. Within a few minutes she had looked at him and diagnosed his condition as overgrown molars and dental disease. She then went on to do a conscious teeth trim and taught us how to syringe feed him if he still struggled to eat properly. I can’t thank her enough, he’s such a loving bunny he deserves the chance to live and have fun, which he seems to be doing already within a day. Thanks to the team at the Oaks

  • Emma Atkins

Somehow brought my cat back from the brink of death for which I am eternally grateful. Given 4 stars due to the vet initially wanting to put her down and not give her a chance but once discussed and treatment started I am so happy to have been given some more time with her. Also maybe a little expensive compared to some other vets but yet fitted her in as an emergency despite not being my regular vet and so again you have my gratitude. Some may not like it but in my case (being autistic), I very much appreciated the frank and honest nature of the vet. Yes it's upsetting to hear she may not live a hugely long life but I'd rather know upfront and be told straight. Thanks from me and Pan

  • Cornelia Lerch

Oaks Vets have looked after my two cat's since they where kittens in 2014. Now I am moving away I really want to express my gratitude having received such professional and empathic care for my pets for so many years and without fail. Most consultations were with Rebecca Rowe. She is an excellent vet. Her diligent attitude, good diagnostic skills, great cat lifestyle advice & helpful treatments have more than once cured quite mysterious illnesses of my cats over the years. Without Rebecca and her wonderful team my cats would not have had so many happy cat lives. I hope to find such good Vet Practice in my new area again.

  • Dave Pearson

I can confirm that the awful reviews on here of Rebecca Rowes rudeness are very accurate. Obviously they have brilliant reviews, they have other vets. She told my partners elderly mother she had 5 minutes to decide whether to have her dogs eyes removed or her dog put to sleep. She left & sort a second opinion and the dog is alive & on medication & shall be reviewed in a month. Rebecca Rowe also called the next day unaware of the second opinion, threatening to report this elderly woman to the RSPC. I know the veterinary surgery shall give a rediculas reply & all I'll say is read the reviews & I rest my case.

  • Emily Lynall

I've been here a number of times with my dog, for the most part the vets I have had communication with have had good service. However, Rebecca is an unfriendly, miserable women. A Katie Hopkins of the veterinary world. I've had her see my dog twice in the past couple of years and she can't help herself but make rude comments about 'the state of him' (her words). It happened 2 years ago and I put it down to her having a bad day, however I went recently and the same again. Its a vets where you take unwell animals, its not crufts. If my dog was in a good state I wouldn't be visiting. I will not be back.

We have been using the oaks for a number of years now, recommended by a rescue centre. We travel over 1 hour each way to visit the oaks because they have been so supportive and good with the care of our pets. If I have had to go to different out of Hours vets, closer to home, I never feel confident as I do when we visit the oaks. We have only ever had contact with Rebecca for our rabbit and I really appreciate her direct approach. She is professional and honest about what your pet needs and always has your pets best interests at heart. Really could not recommend the oaks enough.

  • Jade Loren Smith

If you have rabbits this is the BEST place to take them. Rebecca is so knowledgeable, honest and talented. The whole team genuinely cares about your pets and looks after them like they are their own. I was quoted £800 for an MRI by a previous vet but Rebecca diagnosed and treated the illness without this. If she doesn’t think something will help she will be honest and will not just keep adding treatments on and increasing the price. Two of my bunnies needed surgery in one week and throughout the whole team has been amazing and made the process so much easier for me.

  • Catherine Turner

Had a great experience with Oaks. Between the vet Rebecca and the nurses, they have done everything to make sure my cat is healthy. Rebecca is very thorough, knowledgeable and explained everything clearly. The nurses are kind, and take the time to answer all your questions and worries. They clearly all put the health of your pet first. Prices very reasonable - my appointments with the nurses were even free, which shocked me because they were so thorough and helpful! Receptionists helped sort out my pet insurance and are always friendly. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

  • Christopher Boulton

Our dog has always had great treatment at this vets over the past year so no fault there. However due to rude nature of Rebecca Rowe, one of the vets at the practice we sadly shall not be going back. The vet is local to us which is a shame, but I would rather travel further a field for vet treatment than give Rebecca another penny of our money into her practice. Rudeness should not be tolerated especially if you would like to keep your clients. Hopefully her fellow colleagues may be able to coach her on how to speak with her clients.

  • Sam Bissell

Excellent Vets. We have always used The Oaks for all our cats and the treatment and service has been brilliant. Rebecca in particular was so kind and considerate when we had to have our first cat put to sleep due to kidney failure. These negative reviews do not reflect any experience we have ever had at The Oaks at any time. They always give good advice and put the welfare of our cats first, even if that means telling us something that as an owner we don't want to hear We 100% recommend The Oaks and we wouldn't go anywhere else.

  • Lynda Oconnor

A big thank you to Vicki and all the staff. Last Monday I phoned the practice very upset with a very seriously ill dog (tic tac a jack russell) My dog was rushed in and made a priority. We were both treated with compassion, kindness and respect. Having been told to prepare for the worst, after two days of one to one treatment we started to see an improvement. And a week later after continuing treatment she is still here with me at my feet. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone. A big thank you again to you all. .

  • Wellcat

We have been using the oaks veterinary Centre for years and once again have to congratulate the entire team for a job well done. They are very professional, welcoming, helpful, efficient. We genuinely cannot thank the oaks enough for everything they do. Very reasonably priced. Definitely put the animals needs first and will go above and beyond. The practice has car parking at the front and at the rear. It's easy to get to, spotlessly clean and the staff are incredible. Well done Oaks

  • Evan Vrysoulis

After I had raised a concern about not being informed whether my dogs had been transferred to this practice and the blaze indifferent approach by the lady at reception when I popped in I was asked to call Michelle to talk to. After two attempts where I called and asked to speak to Michelle and where I was told that she was going to call me back both times without asking for the best number to call me I was never called by any Michelle. Sorry not good. Not trusting my dogs with them.

  • Mark Goodwin

I highly recommend using the Oaks Veterinary Centre. All of the vets and staff are lovely but Rebecca has been amazing. She has been so lovely with my kitten Loki who needed his nostrils widened and Rebecca researched the whole operation as she had not done this on a cat so small. The operation was a real success and they have supported us all the way through giving us brilliant advice on aftercare. We found Rebecca very professional and helpful. Karyn Goodwin

  • Emma White

Myself and my family have been using this vets for many many years and never had a problem. We have a pet plan with them and our 2 cats are very well cared for. Today our 2 cats went for their annual check up, were checked over, given their booster injections and also their monthly flea and worming treatment as the vet can administer it a lot quicker and easier than me and my husband can. I could not fault the service received. Thank you Rebecca. :-)

  • Kate Brunsden

If only they could talk! Friendly nurses at this practice but unfortunately, I only had experience with one of the vets. From the moment we first met I was not impressed with her attitude. A year on, my teenage dog now needs to see a behaviourist due to the trauma he experienced as a pup at the hands of this professional whilst I had to wait in the car park. I have moved to a different practice and the experience has been enlightening.

  • Emilie Lauren Jones

Thank you so much for sorting out Zachy's teeth so efficiently today. I can strongly recommend Rebecca to rabbit owners. It was brilliant to see a vet with so much experience and knowledge of rabbits. The treatment option offered here was much safer and cheaper than the treatment we've received at other vets. We will certainly be willing to travel from Coventry to continue treatment here.

  • Cath Clayton

Our poorly cat had to be put to sleep recently. It was sadly unavoidable but all the staff at the Oaks treated both her and myself with nothing but kindness. Rebecca was especially helpful, always ensuring that she followed up on my messages and concerns. Her advice about treatment including how we would manage our cat's final visit was offered with clarity, consideration and sympathy.

  • Steve Bond

Oaks are generally very good but we were told our dog had to have a consultation before they could issue calming tablets due to fireworks. The tablets cost £11.45 for 3 tablets but then £39.95 for the consultation which lasted about 8 minutes ....is there really any need for extortionate prices ?? …

  • Alison Bailey

I could not thank the oak vets enough. They played a massive part in my puppy life(Holly), I couldn't thank you guys enough. Some vets gave up on her but you guys never did. Thank you to the receptionist and all vets at the oaks Holly loved her vet visits lots of cuddles and kisses. Thank you

  • Tom Cullen

You know that feeling you get when you see an extremely competent doctor and you suddenly feel at ease? Rebecca at Oaks gave me exactly that feeling when I took my kitten in. I just knew Moose was in safe hands. I learnt lots from Rebecca and will go back here whenever necessary.

  • Laur

Thoroughly impressed with how caring and dedicated ALL the staff are. Thanks to Rebecca, Vicki, and all the nurses our dog is making a remarkable recovery after a nasty attack. They are truly wonderful and a credit to their profession.❤️

  • Roz Cook

Excellent vet, and we've moved alot so we've been to a few. Very good and understanding with cats: very calm and confident...what more could you want really in the people looking after your 'family member' :)

  • Angie Gatfield

Only had a couple of visits so nothing to complain about. They've been kind and compassionate to both my elderly dog and my new kitten. Helpful and reasonably priced. A breath of fresh air after my last vet!

  • Rachel Foley

Staff are incredibly caring, considerate and friendly. They listen to concerns and act accordingly. My cat has been really well looked after every times she has been there. I would completely trust them.

  • Chris Thompson

Really appreciated the very clear guidance that Rebecca gave us regarding our cat. We now have a clear plan of treatment due to her clarity and understanding of our situation. Thanks for your support.

  • Nat Steeden

A great practice. Rebecca is a wonderful rabbit vet and so knowledgeable. It's also easy to get an appointment and the reception staff are really good.

  • Catherine M Jones

A lovely practice , clean friendly, helpful , not out to just get your money . Been with this practice for over forty years .highly recommended.

  • Tams P

Had a great experience taking my cats in for a check up. Staff were all lovely and friendly and helpful.
