I wanted to share my experience from the wine dessert evening at Phatbar café with my friends. First things first, the desserts were outstanding. The chocolate cake was incredibly rich and indulgent. The lemon coconut square had a delightful tanginess that perfectly balanced the sweetness. I was pleasantly surprised by the spice cornbread dessert, which had a unique blend of warm flavors that worked surprisingly well. The cheesecake was creamy and smooth, and the crust added a nice contrast of texture. And the Earl Grey dessert, infused with the aromatic notes of bergamot, was a real treat for the senses. Now, let's talk about the wines. The team at Phatbar really knows their stuff. They curated a fantastic selection that complemented the desserts beautifully. The white wines were crisp and refreshing, providing a nice contrast to the richness of the sweets. The port wine had a deep and velvety flavor that paired exceptionally well with the chocolate cake. The Prosecco brought a touch of celebration with its lively bubbles, and the iced wine was a delightful sweet finale to the evening. The atmosphere at Phatbar was warm and welcoming, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They provided great recommendations and ensured that we had a fantastic time. Overall, I can't recommend the wine dessert evening at Phatbar Bakery & cafe enough. The desserts were delicious, the wine pairings were spot-on, and the overall experience was genuine and enjoyable. If you're looking for a place to indulge in sweet delights and great wines, Phatbar is definitely worth a visit.

I was so excited to go to Phat bar and the food and drinks were great. We loved the arcade (especially my daughter) and games, we played there for awhile! The service was unfriendly though, I’m not sure if it was because my daughter was there and it has a more child free vibe… There was definitely a low energy though, un-welcomed feeling and coldness. I didn’t want to rate too low in case they were just having a bad day.

Check it out! Just when you think the Ave is getting old and tired, up pops the Phat Bar. Didn’t even know it was there and had no plans for coffee or a snack. It looked warm and inviting so I went in. Coffee was great but the sugary goodness is where it’s at. I took the Strawberry Shortcake and the Lemon Earl Grey Cake home. Thumbs up all around. They are moist and decadent. I hope they do birthday cakes. The staff were super helpful and friendly (an endangered species). If you like to support local businesses, give them a try. I can’t wait to try some of their other goodies.

I live out of town and have been wanting to stop in for a while. I love the atmosphere. They have soooo many amazing desserts to choose from. I settled on an iced mocha and the cookie dough cake. It was unreal. I normally like whip cream icing and only have a few cakes I like. Phat Bar does an awesome job of balancing the sweetness of the icing with the cake. It's not too overwhelming. The cake was unreal and generously packed with cookie dough. Do yourself a favor and just order 2 or 3 to go.

This place scratches all the neurodivergence in the right way. The aesthetics, cleanliness, attention to detail in the decor... plus free boardgames and all the desserts you could dream of.. vegan & gf included! 4 stars simply due to my lime cake tasting a touch unbalanced in the sweetness to cake to lime ratio, but a cappucino would have most likely solved this! So glad yall are here! This is exactly what Yeg needs: late night desserts & board games!

The staff is very welcoming, the space is eclectic and eye catching. Lots of options for sweet treats made in house, they cater to vegans as well with a vegan cookie, poptart and oat bar options. I opted for the strawberry rhubarb oat bar and such a good choice. It's not overly sweet and a perfect size for price. They have board games to play, an arcade machine and a cute nook if you prefer a bit more quiet away from the main area.

This place is awesome. Please come and check it out because I want this place to thrive!! There’s a reading nook with some cool books, the vibe and aesthetic is so good -retro 90s. Coffee and treats are prime and you can get booze. Staff are super friendly and welcoming. This is my new favourite cafe. Came here on a Sunday just before close. I’ll be back for sure!

Awesome place. 90s inspired and products are A+. Strawberry pop tart was great. I can’t wait for a toaster strudel variation. My one demand is that when you do this, I get to put my own icing on!

Welcoming space, funky, relaxing, chill, all welcome. The food and Java top notch. Can’t give enough respect to this establishment. Child friendly (I asked), they have games and gluten free items. This is a place for kids and adults alike, but really for adults to relive their childhood memories. Thank you for the experience. Hubs and I will be back.

This place has the most amazing vibe, the staff are lovely and the menu is so yummy! I'm celiac and they do have GF options (and vegan). Although it's a shared kitchen they were open about their processes (GF is made first to reduce chances of cross contamination) and I haven't had a reaction and I've been here a few times. Highly recommend!!

This is a great cafe if you're a 90s kid. They have a free arcade you can play endlessly. The coffee is good. The ambience is great. Manga comics, board games it has everything. Just the service could be a tad bit better. They need to engage more with customers. It has become my regular hangout spot for the weekends. Ambience is amazing.

Thank you to the owner for this amazing event, the food was so good and same with the drinks. I cannot wait to go back there and have some great food and the environment inside is soo fun and interesting

We tried the earl grey lemon cake. It was amazing, my kids were dancing in their seats they loved it so much. The icing, lemon layers and cake were individually their own amazing flavours, and all together it was a dream. The staff were so great and everything was comfortable but also very fun. We will be back!

I cannot say how much I adore this place. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the beverages and sweet treats are AMAZING (I highly recommend the rainbow cheesecake), And the vibe is the best! From the the excellent decor to the free mortal combat machine this place is simply to die for!

Been to this amazing bakery twice since they have been open. Both times I had great customer service, the baked goods I bought were always so fresh, and the place is super clean! 10/10 would recommend all my friends, family, co-workers, etc check out and give this place a try!

We hosted a birthday party at Phatbar and had an awesome experience! Brian and his team were friendly, communicative and helped make the event a success. They were super accommodating in terms of allergies (celiac, dairy), and the food and drinks were awesome!

A group of friends and I were thoroughly impressed by the heavenly cakes and cookies as well as the good service. We ordered different flavours of cakes and they were all outstandingly delicious and beautifully decorated! Thank you!

Wonderful place for desserts! I was surprised by the portion sizes in person compared to the pics. Generous for sure. I enjoyed the s’more cheesecake and loved the texture… smooth and creamy. I will be back again and again!

Recently went to a Pop Culture Trivia night here and had a great time. The baked goods are phenomenal, beer selection is great and there were plenty of games and things to do after to hang out for a while. Will def be back.

Very disappointed. Made the time and drove a long way to only find out December hours are so different and found it closed. Google hours do not reflect this change. Perhaps another time we'll get to try it.

Phat tarts are vegan which is great for us lactose intolerant folks. The green pesto sandwich is divine. Cheesecake is a knockout. Really great staff to top it off!
