This is the review for our last 6-month grooming experience. We took our dog for bath & grooming when she was 2 month old. At first two months, the staff told us she was great and just needed time to get use to it. On August, they suddenly told us that our dog was super anxious and stressed to stay in the kennel and she needs express service with extra $13. Okay , we feel if it is good for our dog then it is fine. Last month, we booked an appointment with a specific stylist and when we got the store, they told us that two trainers would do the service with our dog while no one called us before for this change. When we got home, we found out that our dogs nails were bleeding while still no one told us about it. We understand that this is normal and happens, but why no one told us about it? This time, we took her for bath again, when we were waiting in the line, our dog met a small puppy and they were smelling with each other. Maybe the small dog feels scared(since Our dog is a large breed) and started barking. Our dog barked back. The staff then told us to wait outside because our dog is aggressive. Well, the small dog could wait inside the salon. I just want to say is this wrong for a dog's personality if she feels offended? We did wait outside but not for aggressive reason is because we don't want to scare that small dog. We were loyalty customers for this store and now we feel so disappointed for the attitude.

Took my Golden Retriever cross in for a fall clean up. They offer a defurring brushing that in conjunction with their shampoo and skin treatment should significantly reduce shedding. Certainly less shedding happening now but we'll see about how long it lasts. In any event, it beats having that fur block up my drains. We paid for the shampoo, defurring, and nails and I certainly feel the cost was worth it. Staff were very professional, there was a brief check in process that included a physical check of Chardonnay's skin and fur, they also checked for matting in case the brush out might cause problems. As well they took a few minutes talking to the dog and making her feel comfortable with the situation. As well as the dog, the humans were subjected to covid prevention protocols, politely but firmly, something I appreciated for my safety. The booking was for 4 hours but they took about 2+ hours. They called to say she was having a rough time with the hot air dryer and rather than stress her out did we mind if she was left a bit damp. Chardonnay was certainly happy to see us, and was a bit damp, but she dried out during a quick walk around the block when I took her home. The experience does not seem to have disturbed her at all and I would certainly consider it for a regular spring and fall event. They offer some discounts if you pre book grooming sessions and if you want regular grooming it might be worth it

Very disappointing service today. My dog has been getting groomed by Roxanna B.for the last 6 months. She is wonderful, caring, warm, & extremely friendly. Today we were booked in with Abby K & boy did we notice a difference in both attitude, customer service & in the actual grooming itself. 1st off, i was charged more than i have ever been for the bath & trim w/ Chi package that we have continuously been getting our dog as we noticed it works wonders for his shedding. 2nd Abby was cold, rude/short in responses, & seemed almost bothered by being at work. She asked if i wanted his nails done for $18 extra or if I'd like the promo on for terth ears and nails unless i "wanted to pay more for less". What kind of customer service interaction is that?!? 3rd Our dog looks like he didn't even get furminated, trimmed or nails cut. His normal trim around his genitals and bottom fluff weren't even touched. We were charged extra for teeth, ear, and nails & his nails are longer after this appointment then they EVER are with Roxanna....& we paid extra. The attention to detail is lacking, the customer service is lacking, & i am very disappointed with this experience. Not to mention my dog was distress crying when we got there which should have been my 1st clue as he is extremely mild mannered & Roxanna's favourite to work with (just ask her).

My boyfriend went into the store yesterday to get kitty litter. Went there cuz he saw a flyer advertising $3 off. When he went to pay, cashier asked for membership phone number. He was sure we had signed up. Neither phone number worked. So cashier said we can just skip it, and he was charged full price for the litter! No where did it state its a membership price! Even on your site, says nothing about having to have a points card to get the sale price. I have reordered online for store pickup, hopefully my boyfriend will want to bring the litter back and get a refund for the full priced box. This was extremely poor customer service. Neither phone number works so she doesn't suggest signing up, just charges full price?! I'm thinking we should just get our stuff elsewhere from now on. I emailed customer service to report this and i just got a, sorry about that, here's a $5 coupon good with a $25 purchase. The only thing more pathetic than how he was treated was customer service's response. Since when is a points card needed to get an advertised sale price? Apparently, at PetSmart. But they won't openly advertise it, just surprise you at the till.

I wish I could give 0 star to this awful place. I usually don’t go to those kind of big Walmart for pets for grooming, but we are new in the city and someone referred me to one specific girl. I have a standard poodle, we always do the « teddy bear » cut. The girl there told us that my dog was really matted and that she will try her best to not cut his hair too short. When I arrived there and I saw my dog, I was SO shocked! I have seen my dog with way longer hair than he has before his grooming. And I know he was matted, but this is no excuses to shave him completely and let him only with his skin. I swear, I can see his skin now, my dog has a white patch on his nose and chest, and now we don’t see it at all, all we see his skin. This wasn’t a dog living on the street for the whole winter, there is no excuses for letting him with only his skin!!! Please, if you are thinking of giving this place a try, DON’T!!!! Also, now I have to go to the veterinarian, because he is itching so much that he has red patches. I don’t know how someone with a bit of judgment could do that!!!

Yesterday at 5.00 pm, my 1-year-old dog (a "super dangerous" golden-doodle) had an appointment to get his nails grinded but apparently, in the 15 second we were there, he was assessed as "not trained" to get the service. Something more than a month a go, he wasn't "a hound from hell" to get a full grooming service. Neither it was six months ago.... Might be that quality of his training goes hand-by-hand with the amount of money you're planning to spend, and the time you're planning to spend it at. This morning he's staying in a daycare that charges a little over than what Pet Smart does for the service they didn't want to provide yesterday. Still didn't get any call to, please, please, save us from this beast! I guess that they honor their name, and the only thing "smart" there might be "pets". I wouldn't give appointments if I wasn't planning to keep them; it is not good for the business. So, looking forward to (never) trying again! And of course, unfortunately my money for toys, treats, food, etc., for the spam of my dog's life will have to go somewhere else.

Well it serves me right... I should have read the reviews. I thought they would be professional groomers but I learned very quickly they are not. Apparently, my 2 year old maltese/shi tzu growled and tried to bit the groomer when she lunged at him to put a collar around his neck??? This was a surprise to me...... I was standing right there. When I suggested she try again the mouthy manager (so I guess she was) jumped in and made one excuse after another why they couldn’t groom my dog. My dog has been groomed several times and no one has ever has a problem with him. He is very meek and kind. I really should have asked what training and experience these two had. I wish I could give them no stars. It almost seemed like they didn’t want the business. Well that fine there’s lots of other places that do. I would not recommend taking you pet here nor the groomer Sam.

I have fish and lizards. For supplies, the prices can't be beat! The selection is pretty decent. However, I'm very mixed about buying live animals from them. I have purchased two Betta fish and they are doing well. I also bought 4 ghost shrimp. 2 are still alive and doing OK. My big caution was a mountain horned lizard I purchased about two years ago. In the store, it seemed relatively healthy, so I bought it and brought it home. I kept heating and humidity at the proper levels and fed it proper food. Within a week it had died. The vet said the lizard was sold to me sick, and they should have known. So, for supplies, I recommend them. Live pets, yes if just inexpensive fish.

The often have the product that I have trouble finding. That being said, prices are slightly more expensive and their staff are not as good with the animals as I would like. I am very picky about pets environment (especially parrots so they don't feather pick). I have had a parrot for 15 years, and had staff tell me blatantly wrong info, and disregard my corrections. When I advised them to change something in the parrot cage (for safety) they ignored me. That being said, I have had only good experiences in other departments. Their fish and reptile people were fantastic, extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. Overall, a decent place but not one I would shop at regularly.

I was very upset when I left this store today. I was in the isle where you buy collars. The "dog trainer" was recommending a steel prong collar for a 5 month old puppy who pulls when he walks. I came home and did a bit of research on the collars and they all say that they can be dangerous for the dog and painful and are not recommended for the average dog person. I think this person should not be recommending such a collar for a puppy. That is just cruel and this experience at the store today has upset me a lot and changed how I feel about this place. I guess I have to find another place to shop for dog supplies.

Luv this Pet Smart, always have everything I need to buy & then some Great selection & always good deals. Its amazing that it's still 1 of the places you can still actually take your furry pooch into the store. Especially with all these covid-19 restrictions. Hand sanitizer & shopping cart cleaner avail right @ the front when you walk in. No entry allowed without a mask enforcement, which is really comforting. Everyone really respecting the 6ft socially distancing rules. Feel very safe doing my shopping there, especially with all that's going on. Thank u to the staff @ Pet Smart 5

The selection of product in this store (Kenaston) is great. I came in to get crickets for my bearded dragon and I asked for 40. She got me 33 crickets and the cashier charged me for 46. The fish and reptile department seems a little neglected as we noticed dead fish in the tanks and the crickets didn't have food or water. When we were in the other aisles looking for product, no staff came to ask if we need help with anything. If you want good crickets, staff that know what they're talking about and ask if you need any help constantly, go to the Leila store. They care about everyone there

Thank you sooo much! I love my pets, I take great care of them and this place has almost all of, when it’s all in stock they have it all! I enjoy coming here. I did it all over the phone because online my check out wasn’t working. That’s ok because I got what I needed! My dragon will be super happy! Best verity of food! Most places only have Mealworms super worms and crickets.. this place has much more! I love it here and can’t wait till they open up the doors again. But please, keep safe and keep the animals safe.. they matter even though they don’t talk.

Went in to buy a fish for my girlfriend, i had no idea about the tank sizes and their respective fish type, so i go this associate with green-black hair streaks to ask some general questions and she obnoxiously started laughing and talking in a mean/rude tone, i just laughed and apologized about it that im sorry I didn't knew anything about fishes, she just ignores and starts laughing. Ruined my day, but some other associate helped me out, anyways meet my new betta companion, she's beautiful!!, Prepping her tank while she rests in there!

I will never step foot in here again, I understand the upkeep of multiple animals can be hard, but when it's your job to demonstrate proper animal care to your customers and you lack all knowledge on the species you have, it's very disappointing. Their fish section was polluted in Ich, they had birds with overgrown beaks, and hamsters that were attacking one another due to them being solitary animals that have been cohabbed. This store cares about money and not the animals actual well being, it's very disappointing! Wouldn't recommend

Love this location! I go here weekly for dog food/ treats / toys even grooming - staff are always friendly but never pushy - I love being able to shop without being harassed by sales people . Grooming staff are a little less friendly, but it's understandable : how are they supposed to know which dogs they can trust and which they can't! One of my two puppies was sassy getting her nails clipped and they turned her away , but were very kind about it. They also give free treats as samples which my Dogs love !

I went to your store today and the lady working went above and beyond for us. We are from out of town going to pick up a puppy from the airport and were upset because his plane was delayed and he was waiting a long time. She sympathized with us and told us her own story of knowing someone who used to work there and would play with the puppies through the crate. It made us feel 1000% times better and she even asked to see pictures of the puppy. Amazing service. Thankyou so much for turning our day around.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG THERE FOR GROOMING! They injured my dog really bad The eye of the dog is full of blood and the vet told me that it need surgery because they damaged the dog eye! PLS PLS PLS. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG THERE they told me because it took longer than expected they would not charge me for the grooming ! Now I know why Those people are not professional at all and they do not love the animals at all trying to hide the injured they do to the animal got brought in!

Ive gone here on 4 seperate occasions and not once have I had a staff member approach me to see if I needed any assistance. Very bad customer service the location in st james is the same way. Its pretty pathetic that customers have to chase down employees for some assistance. I would be in the store for 30 min periods and still not one employee would ask me if I needed assistance. Even one star is a generous rating. The best one is in transcona great staff there.

I went to buy fishes from this place. I was so happy when i entered the place. But as soon as i went to fish section the rep. Incharge there was so rude. She didnt even ask me which one of them i would like to take it home. She just took it out. And told me that the one which i like i cant buy it. Thats means she is gonna tell me where i should spend my money. She might be expert but being rude piss me off. Never coming back to this place nor gonna recommend.

I am in tears..... after 6 hours my Sheltie looks like an Aussie. These are not qualified groomers, I was told after that the groomers may not understand all breeds. My Sheltie's pants have been completely shaved off and will NEVER grow back the same. I am at a complete loss for words and have learned my lesson. I will be taking my fur baby to a real professional. Pet Smart you should be truly ashamed.

Went to return an item and stood in line. Wen it was my turn the older lady told me she would take the next customer behind . Because it would take awhile to find my transaction history. U mm why? Isn't it first come first serve. She seemed very negative.and talked down to us. Not friendly and welcoming. Maybe she shouldn't be working the front. The store was clean and organized. I like the selection of products both in the cat food (wet and dry) and litter. The cashier that I dealt with for a return was rude and not an attentive listen. I felt like I was bothering her and that the process was the worst possible thing. Other experiences with different cashiers have been good but the customer service could definitely be improved

Always love to peruse the aisles with my dog, who I think enjoys the 'shopping' experience WAYYYY more than I do Everyone is friendly & always willing to help, but never 'in your face' pushy. Items are usually well stocked & store is always clean & clutter free. Really enjoy the extra savings as a member as well. Definitely recommend this is your 'go to' pet supplies store!

The website wasn't working properly so we called to reserve some small bags of Kitty litter that were a great deal. When we got there, they had set aside bags that were twice the size of the ones on sale, and they were out of the ones on sale. Talked to the Manager and she gave us the giant bags for the sale price of the small bags. Count me as a satisfied customer!

What a refreshing change to meet staff who actually enjoy working . I talked to three staff member all of them were happy and full of advice . Even down to apologizing for taking winter items and putting them I storage. They went and retrieved the items and allowed me to try them on the puppy for fit size . So nice to meet people who appreciate what they are doing

Always like bringing my dog here to get supplies. They got a really good selection of dog food which is good to give my dog some variety. Toys and clothing are fun but always sold out fast. I guess people in the area really love their pets. Employees are always happy and really try to help. Not lazy and just give you the runaround as in other big box stores.

Really great products at great prices with friendly staff. I was looking for a specific product, Red Leaf Angus Beef dog food, and PetSmart was the only store that carries that food. My dog *loves* that food. The staff were very helpful and signed me up for the "PetSmart Treats" loyalty program which makes buying products here even cheaper! Win/win!

I will never go back there for grooming ever again. Kristin was rude to my dog and lacks customer service and created a concern to up sell private obedience training. My dog has had obedience training and I have taken her to 2 our groomers who said that my dog was perfectly fine and there was zero problems with her behaviour.

Went to buy fish on multiple occasions, each time there were at least 2 or 3 dead fish in the tank. No thanks, I'll stick places that care for their fish as well as sell healthy ones. At least have the decency to remove the dead fish from the tank.
