This store is useless. They say they are a small family business. I was looking for Birkenstock Foot beds for a pair of clogs I wear everyday. I was told about this place by another store on Alma and 4th. By the way is a great place and the people are nice and don't treat you like your nothing. Anyway I found the place and called up to find out if they have foot beds in stock. The lady that answered the phone said she would look. A short time later came back on the phone and said they did indeed had some in stock. I asked what time they closed and she said 6pm. Ok! great I'll be there before they closed that day. As I had to come from surrey. I found the store and parked my car. I get to the store only to find the store door locked. I saw someone at the back of the store. I waved at her but just to be ignored. I knocked on the door and still nothing. I know she saw me because she turned her head to look at the door when I knocked on the door. After a while the person disappeared from sight and turned off the lights of the store. At that point I had been standing in front of the store for about 10 minutes and at that point I said to myself well that was a waste of my time and gas. Just to follow up I called the place this morning and asked to speak to the manager. She answered the phone and I told how I felt. She did remember me and what happened. She was telling me that she was going to come to the door but had been working by herself all day and she had to go to the washroom. It was excuse after excuse with her. I finally just hung up because I could see it wasn't going any where with her. Sooo I would never send anyone I know there. I have no idea how they are still in business. If you want to be told you are wrong and made to feel like your dumb then please go there.

I've been shopping from this store since the early 90's. All my Birkenstocks have been purchased here including my first pair that I backpacked through Europe in 1993. This is one of my favourite family owned, local shoe store. I recently accidentally bought a pair of Birkenstocks I already had, I don't know how I did this but I did. I didn't realise this until almost 12 days later and I was worried that I was too late to return/exchange them for a different pair. They were unworn still in the box, and I went back to the store and explained what had happened. The store personnel was very easy going, and was totally okay with my bringing them back. She was really helpful with finding me a different pair to purchase. I left happy and relieved that it was a pleasant experience, and there was no need for me to have worried at all. She even acknowledged that over the winter, we can forget the sandals we already have and end up purchasing the same ones by mistake. That was helpful to hear as it was exactly what happened to me. The whole experience was a positive one, I will definitely shop there again.

Absolutely abysmal service. I bought $160 birkenstocks 6 months ago. One shoe sole has worn to the leather, while the other has normal wear. This is obviously a manufacturing flaw. The staff couldn't care less. They were rude, and acused me of wearing the shoes in the sea. I was told that I would need to contact a shoe repair service to get them repaired. This is the kind of service that pushes customers to the large retailers and to online shopping. In response to your response. The shoes are not worn out. One shoe is worn out. This is a defect. I did not try to intimidate her or talk over her. I most certainly did not yell. She was rude and unhelpful. Her response to my query as to your store's lack of customer service was a shrug! You may want to review your screening when hiring people. It also appears (in other responses on here) that your response to a complaint is to blame the customer. I suspect I would get better service elsewhere, since you have set the bar so incredibly low.

I will be bringing this up to the higher ups i know around the area. I find that i always had a good time shopping here when i was a kid, but today i was discriminated against and treated like I was gonna run out with the shoes. Guy stood at the door and closed the red rope like I was gonna run. Ended up paying 200$ of shoes today that were supposed to be on clearance and they have something wrong with the inside, non refundable ofcorse... lived here near kits almost all my life and I've never been treated like this. Ended up being to scared to tell them I didn't wanna buy the shoes. There probably getting donated. I know that parts on me but I should have never been made to feel that way... Probably saw that I was a less then wealthy, dark skinned 20 year old and assumed I was a thief.

Salesperson asked me if I was “just browsing” I guess thinking a browsing customer wasn’t interested in buying. But I was. Unfortunately the selection was very thin and the lady didn’t seem all that knowledgeable about the shoes (I was looking at Tevas and sneakers). Certainly undersold me on their offerings. So I left. Given some of the rave reviews I was underwhelmed but I wasn’t looking for Birkenstock’s so maybe that’s the problem. Lots of Birks

Great selection and sale at the end of the season. My husband and I went to two different stores only to find that they only had 2 styles left and only certain sizes. Amazed that this store had a WALL of Birkenstock that they carry all the time, and additional styles on sale. We each bought a pair, and the gentleman who helped us was extremely helpful! We'll be back for more later.

i went there one day to ask if they had a foot measure. Cause i couldnt figure out what size my shoes that im wearing were. The person said we dont have one anymore. Go to comfy feet across from dairy queen. I said nice . walk up there in this weather. They said take bus. No wonder i never go there for shoes. Neither do my friends and colleagues.

Very bad service. Would not take back very recently purchased boots which were not fully waterproof. Salesperson told me I could bring them to Salvation Army !! I needed to say " F____ off ! " but held back. And that pair was all I could afford anyway. Worked hard to find a good fit. VERŔRRRY upset !

I'm heading out on vacation tomorrow and planned my whole day around getting to this store by 5:30 so I could buy shoes for my trip...but when I got there, there was a sign on the door that said they decided to close at 5:30. I'm pretty annoyed.

This is where you buy quality, comfortable brand name footwear. Ie Birkenstock. Pricey but they have really good sales. Where I buy walking sandals and winter booties. Service is hit/miss. The sales ppl can be very snooty or extremely helpful.

  • Brad McPhee

Knowledgeable staff, can answer any question on care and upkeep of their shoes. Genuinely seem interested in helping to the right fit and style. Best place to buy Birkenstocks in terms of styles and selection in Vancouver.

Awesome staff- the guy was super helpful and I bought an awesome pair of shoes on sale. Would go back for sure- thought the guy working there knew his stuff and was nice to my kids while I shopped.

  • Dustin Behnka

Birks and Mephisto sandals, any style you're after. The prices are the same everywhere for these sandals so you don't need to bother shopping around, just find the style you like and buy it.

  • Andy Di

They are awesome. This is the best place in western Canada to buy shoes!!! Great selection. Can't wait to make it back to Vancouver. Keep up the good !!

  • Anouk J

This store offers a small but very good selection of quality shoes. We like coming here, and they have sales every once in a while too.

  • Ethan Blair

Such a great selection, such great staff - always a pleasure to go into this store!!!

Some of my favourite shoes came from here. Small selection, but great stock.
