This is just my honest experience of what I went through dealing with them to repair my car! I have a 2015 Chevy Malibu that I purchased new back then. 3 weeks ago my engine light came on and I checked the error using my own device. The error code appeared as P015A which is basically saying that your O2 sensor is not functioning well. For the first time during the past 8 years owning my car, I decided to try somewhere different other than the certified dealers and I called them to set an appointment. Their mechanic showed up and per the P015A code, changed my O2 sensor. However, following that day not only the engine light came back on again (with the same error code of P015A), but my engine was very short on power and even shutting off at stoplights, or when idling randomly. I called them again in order to fix the issue. The mechanic showed up again and saying that there was nothing wrong with the sensor and he know what he is doing because he is the mechanic. I said to him that it doesn't make sense that just right after replacing the sensor, the condition got even worse! But he didn't address the issue and said that my catalytic convertor is faulty and needs a replacement!! and charged me again at the end for what he called a new diagnosis! I did not buy what he said and took my car to the GM dealership in Calgary. They did the test and confirmed that my O2 sensor was faulty causing all the headaches and replaced it for me with a GM sensor and resolved my issue! I got so furious with the service that Instamek provided me with. Thankfully, they refunded me otherwise I would be more than glad to take them to the court by all means!

2.5/5 (a pass but barely). I dislike giving a less than stellar review but it feels necessary do to. First and foremost - my mechanic Davoud was a great guy and seems like a very smart mechanic. I enjoyed his explanations and he clearly knows his stuff. They got him out within a few days to replace my left wheel bearing and battery after my car didn't start one morning and wasn't driving particularly well. After my car was fixed, we noticed the ABS light has come on. He said he'd fix it but needed a part and to call them back tomorrow and we could arrange that to be fixed. This was like 2-3 months ago and it took many months of telephone tag and multiple times being promised by the customer service rep that either they would call me back later in the day or management would. This happened at least 3 times where I did not receive a call back. I'd get busy with work and forget about it for a few weeks and then try to pick the ball back up - recall them and reexplain the situation. It was a pain in the a** It may seem harsh to give 2/5 for this but in my eyes this service is supposed to be convenient and save me time. It ended up draining much more time and energy of mine than if I had of just taken it to a traditional mechanic. I don't think I'd use Instamek again personally - however I don't think they are to be avoided at all costs. They did get out to my place fast and did get me back on the road quickly. I just believe their customer service/organizational skills could be improved and the experience was not a pleasant one for me.

InstaMek saved me thousands! I don’t know much about cars, and trying to buy a used one felt like playing Russian roulette! I’ve been burned in the past. But with InstaMek, there is a way to make an informed decision!! I used them last year to do a pre purchase inspection on a car for my daughter, and then again this year for my son. They showed up the day I booked them, which is key when you’re negotiating online deals with sellers who don’t like holding a vehicle for anyone. They drove to the sellers home, which is amazing, as I lived 3 hrs from the seller and couldn’t have brought it in for an inspection any other way. Dom came to inspect, and gave an amazingly detailed report. It felt so thorough, including photos and a test drive, along with a phone call follow up to discuss things in detail. I felt so secure in my decision with both vehicles, without even seeing them in person! I would highly recommend InstaMek and have already told all of my family and friends about them. Thank you Dom, for taking so much of the guesswork out of buying a used vehicle!

I used to love instamek and have used them for years. My car has been in storage for about 2 years on and off due to having several surgeries. They were the last company to do an oil change on my car. They damaged the oil filter cap years ago so they couldn't do an oil change on my car and now expect me to pay hundreds so they can replace the oil filter cap. Instead of taking responsibility, they blamed the damage on me somehow saying that I did not move my car in 2 years which is not true. I am incredibly dissapointed and do not recommend them. They said the damage that they caused isn't covered by their warranty.

Instamek appeared to offer excellent service. They agreed to pay special attention to the frame of a tacoma that I was interested in. They reported that the frame was in good shape and there were no issues. I called to confirm. I bought the truck and took it to another mechanic to have work done right after. Turns out there is a nickle size hold in the frame, right where I asked instamek to look and several other soft spots. Instamek apologized for missing that, and refunded my inspection cost, but I have a vehicle with a rotten frame. I will not be using instamek again.

Mechanic prices are crazy high now especially with pretty much mandatory scans, so no real way to avoid that. But I used InstaMek yesterday as my car was dead in our underground parking and they arrived on time, did the work, were informative and answered questions and did a thorough job and left a clean work area. No extra BS charges, it was basically the quote. I got their membership and it paid for itself, saved me $30 more bucks too, so worth it if you need anything more than about $500 done.

Instamek booked me to have my winter tires put on today and didn’t even bother to tell me that my service was cancelled because their mechanic was hurt and they had no replacement. I wasted my whole day off waiting for them! They have no problem charging you a hefty fee for not being available for your appointment, but they don’t have the consideration to cancel or reschedule. I am so mad I will never use this company again.

In Feb 21,2023 my car won’t start. I found Instamek on line and gave them a call. Spoke with Francisco and he was supper helpful and I got same day service. Dominic a very friendly and knows what he is doing arrived even earlier than my appointment to my house got me new battery and I was set to go!! Thanks for coming and installing new battery Dom, on the cold snowy day! Much appreciated your help.

David was excellent. He was able to come even earlier than expected, was very thorough, explained our options well and there was no hassle or pressure. Our vehicle had absolutely no power so it was wonderful to not have to have it towed somewhere. Great to have the vehicle back on the road and look forward to using the service again for other maintenance! Would highly recommend.

Had a dead battery and was blocking the driveway so couldn't get to my other car. Thought I'd give Instamek a try to come and replace the battery. Josh was great! Personable and skilled. We had a little problem (which I like to call "Volvo things") but Josh was able to sort it out and get a different battery quickly. Arrived on time and work was done as promised.

Don’t waste your money, if you can go to a real shop. The mechanic who came to inspect my vehicle showed up late and rushed his way through it and didn’t notice half the things that need attention. Update: you guys still haven’t responded to my email I sent a week ago, great customer service you’ve got there….

The 5 stars is for the mechanic Tristan that came out! He was awesome. He got car running. He was very knowledgeable , friendly and easy to deal with. If I were to rate the company I would give the no stars ⭐️. I had the biggest run around with the owners . I would recommend the mechanic to anyone!!!

Thank you Davoud from Instamek! He's not even done the work as I write this because of how well this service worked out! Solved the issue within 10 minutes, Got the part needed to fix it permanently and did an excellent job! If you don't want to pay for a tow, I suggest this service!!!
