It's one of those unique establishments in the whole city. We don't have many. Recently (?) renovated. Consists of one big room but still cozy. Stands by itself next to a park area. It does drinks and snacks. No hot food menu. Went to a Christmas show in 2023. Great fun. Should go to more live shows. Long live The Yardbird Suite!

A little known gem. Best live music venue in Edmonton hands down. Great sound and atmosphere. Run by Volunteers who want to be there rather than have to be there. The shows have top notch musicality and shows for incredible prices. If you don`t know if you like jazz, go here and it will make you a lover of the genre. Yardbird Suite captures to essence of what jazz is about. Great spot for a date (drinks and snacks only last I have been there).
Canada's oldest and longest operational jazz club. Volunteer run and operated, this venue is an excellent spot to see local and international acts. From the weekly Yardbird Jam on Tuesday to the local artist showcase on Thursday, the Yardbird attracts excellent musicians, both those looking to hone their craft and those well established. Highly recommend checking this venue out.
Boasting a history that goes all the way back to 1957 (making it the very oldest and most enduring jazz club in Canada), Yardbird Suite nonetheless remains relevant with great and varied performances. It's also a relaxed place, where you can sit and drink and be entertained. For an evening out, I couldn't recommended it more—it remains a highlight of my visits to Edmonton.
An intimate, up front stage experience. One I highly recommend. No problem hearing the actors and all theatre attendees were friendly and engaging. Any opportunity to attend this venue and catch a show is an experience that one will find enjoyable. Located in Edmonton's Strathcona district, parking is nearby.
The sound/music was amazing. The only thing I recommend is that if you are here for the full 3 hours (which you should be) is that along with your drinks you also get a water and ice because it is very warm in the hall. Band was amazing. Gives off a very romantic feel. Worth your time! Please support local.
Just saw Benito Gonzalez, playing the music of McCoy Tyner, with the amazing drummer Fransisco Mela, and baseman Paul Johnson. The Yardbird is the best venue for real music fans. Great sound, wonderful, intimate venue with comfortable cafe seating, operated by volunteers who love live jazz.
Great little spot for a date night. They regularly have jazz acts. These nights are a little pricy ($30 last time I went a couple years ago) but really nice small tables to snuggle up to with your date and watch some music. Yardbird also acts as a great fridge venue.
This is a place where magic is created ... A haven for those that find solace in an evening of great music, fabulous company, and a sound experience like no other! Many thanks to all the volunteers that are the foundation of this Canadian treasure :-) More
Just saw the Mystics, with my wife for a date night, on Tuesday which is their jam session night. What an outstanding show that was! And the jam sesh afterwards is always a unique experience. We highly, highly recommend checking out the YardBird Suite
One of North America's longest standing jazz clubs, the Yardbird Suite is a gem in the Canadian music landscape. Overall good sight lines to the stage, great sound people, reasonably priced drinks, world-class artists and all volunteer-run.
This is a gem of a jazz venue. The atmosphere is fantastic and the performances are intimate. The staff is passionate and helpful. They get a great roster of jazz musicians. An Edmonton landmark that is world famous in jazz circles.
Love this cozy authentic venue run by real art/music supporters and volunteers! Finally, something local that hasn't been taken over by $$ and commercialism!! Excited to go out and explore more shows! I got myself and my friend a
This place is the real deal. I got my start as a jazz musician right here, playing in the LittleBirds, and getting to listen to world-class jazz as a volunteer. Unbelievable fixture in the Canadian music scene.
Great little spot for live music in Edmonton. Not a bad seat in the house and the volunteers that work the shows are super helpful. Bonus that they have local craft beer at the bar, and plenty of variety.
Best Jazz club in Canada with zero exceptions!! The Tuesday night Jam session is a uniquely popular night and I would highly doubt that there is a better Jazz jam anywhere in the country!
Education concert was very cool! Vocabulary was a bit above my Gr6's level, but they very much enjoyed it! House manager was very accommodating and the band was a blast to watch.
High quality AND friendly space for new jazz musicians. One of the Highlights of Edmonton!

Fantastic entertainment and very welcoming! it was a great intimate location to hear genuine jazz music. very 'local' type of feeling. will go again and its a great price!
Music was good. You know those loud, rollicking movie jazz clubs? Yeah, not encouraged here. Atmosphere a little stilted. They should rent out operation of their kitchen.
What an enchanting evening. The live quartet was smooth and soulful. The venue is cozy and calming. Cheers to all the volunteers that keep this place running.
Like Jazz? Live in Edmonton? Then this is it! Support local jazz..many thanks to the volunteer staff. Enjoy a beer some popcorn and some great music.
Swingin’ lil spot for a top notch performance or some local talent. Acoustics are decent, most seats are a good view and the popcorn is a good touch.
This is very atmospheric and cozy jazz place. Love it! You will be totally amazed by warmth and sincerity of it. Will strongly recommend to visit.
Ever a great place for those while love music. Perfect for any music you want to enjoy with other music lovers.

Always have incredible bands from all over the world. Support local talent. Can't say enough about this place. World class venue for jazz.
Great atmosphere, intimate setting. I love being so close to musicians to watch them play music and interact with each other. Great sound!

First time here. Easy to get to, lots of paid parking. Coffee wasn't fantastic. But it was a good show and good atmosphere.
Sierra Jamerson was flipping amazing. The Yardbird is still the best place in Edmonton to see great bands. Thank so much!
Intimate but well proportioned jazz lounge. $20 entry for non members for a 2 hour set plus 30 moon interval. Recommended
Run by volunteers, nice venue, always have a great night there.

Nice environment with amazing musicians. The beer was good but not cold enough. Strongly recommend!
Went to see Dan Brubeck for my first show here and had a fantastic experience. Great concert venue.
Intimate venue for enjoying live music. Great performers and excellent sound engineering.
A great place to meet friends and enjoy some live jazz music over a drink. Recommended!
Nice volunteer operated facility. Very good acoustics. They do serve drinks and food.
A great place to hear live music. One of a very few spots that remain in Edmonton.
