I would rather rate this surgery as a -1 but do not have the option. They are the most rudest, unhelpful receptionists I have ever come across - This is not even my surgery it is my partner's. They do not care about people or life. I get there is a pandemic and feel they are using this to their advantage. I have had to call them a couple times on behalf of my partner whilst he is at work and have only met with rudeness when I call. My surgery is Ingleton Avenue and they are so nice and helpful and we get appointments and helped whenever you call. This shoddy lot think it is ok to ask what you want a doctor for - what has happened to private consultation with a doctor, I was spoke to like I was nothing and not important. I am going to carry this on and follow their complaints procedure and show them how bad they actually are!

Would it really hurt the receptionists in this surgery to be professional, friendly and helpful? I think it wouldn't hurt. It might even make their work more pleasant. But NO! Where do I start? Absolutely unpleasant and unprofessional staff ever! You can never get through on the phone, forget having any luck in getting an appointment and be prepared to be interrogated about your personal and private problem by unqualified receptionist. The doctors and nurses are actually quite good but are let down by reception big time. I just don't understand why are they so nasty when no one is coming to gp for fun, people normally go there when need help so some common courtesy would be welcome. Looking at the other reviews I can deduct that this isn't just my opinion and the surgery's manager should take action.

Avoid this surgery. End of. I had a blood test back at the beginning of March and had been awaiting my results. A Doctor contacted me to let me know that I would need to be seen face to face to discuss it further. The Doctor also informed me that she would get the receptionist to book me an appointment over the phone. Several minutes later I was contacted by the receptionist who spoke to me in a vile manner then rudely questioned why I hadn’t discussed my blood test results over the phone and then rudely asked why I was having the appointment…this isn’t the first time but it’s definitely the last as I am changing Doctors now. I suggest the receptionists mind their own business and book the appointments as asked, without a fuss

Worst Surgery ever. Never able to get an appointment, even though I call straight away once they open. Receptionists have the worst customer service I have ever seen, a piece of wood could do a better job, constantly put the phone down when it takes you forever to get through to them in the first place and are also very rude. Doctors are not helpful at all. I spend most of my time in 24 Hour A&E's wasting their time on simple things as MY surgery never has time for me and I do not trust their medical opinions after failing to recognize I had a urine infection! After years of this I have requested to move surgery's, certainly do not recommend. the only reason I put one star is because I didn't have the option to put 0.

To the Receptionist at The Welling Medical Practice, My 75 year old Mum came to you for help when she suddenly experienced chest pain whilst out shopping in Welling. You, very coldly said she could not speak or see a Doctor for a whole week. She cried, do you remember? I’ll give you another clue …. She told you that her husband of 57 years had just died and that she didn’t feel very well, do you remember her now? You showed her no compassion or understanding or any kind of human response. After speaking to you over the phone today I recommend that you find alternative employment because a Doctors Receptionist role is obviously not the right job for you. I will be taking this further.

Have been trying to call this GP for over two hours. Number has been constantly busy and cuts the line off, while this isn't a problem for me as I work in the NHS and the call is non urgent, any patients in need of talking to their GP for medical issues would surely be better served changing GP to a surgery that bothers to employ staff to answer phones. Unfortunately one star is the minimum rating, seeing as this doctors surgery doesn't even answer it's phone a 0 star rating would be more appropriate. It may actually be quicker to start studying for a medical license in order to treat yourself rather than put your health in the hands of these individuals.

I have been a patient here for a number of years as its close to where I live. The "service" has gotten much worse over the years. The reception staff are appalling. This week things got even worse. I booked an appointment over two weeks ago for a checkup following an operation. When I arrived at the surgery I was told the appointment had been moved to the Avery Hill clinic but no-one had told me and it was too late to travel there. The receptionist refused to rebook it and referred me to Erith Hospital. I am going to change surgeries. Best way to describe this practice is the clueless being led by the useless.

Good luck getting any help from this place. You're lucky if you can reach anyone by phone, appointments are a nightmare to make - often getting cancelled or incorrectly rescheduled without notice even after a long wait time for said appointment. They will lose medical letters, not send important referrals for months, ignore emails and letters sent to them and if you even dream of being frustrated by any of this they will dismiss your complaints like you're at fault. If you have any long term medical issues, you are better off finding a new surgery. If I could leave less than 1 star I would.

Very nasty GP surgery. I'd been lucky to stay healthy prior to now and rarely visited. So it came as a shock to be treated so insolently and in such an uncaring fashion by the GP. Dr A-B was so unpleasant and disrespectful. I was frankly astounded. And both times I called to check on the progress of my referral I was told by the secretary that she's just too busy to deal with "routine referrals" and never gets past the "urgents." You have to be near death for them to take you seriously. After waiting 9 months, I gave up and switched to another surgery. Avoid this place like the plague.

  • Charlotte Mcc

I haven’t had one good experience at this gp. The doctors just rush through walk in appointments and don’t address issues properly I was refused antibiotics for a chest infection thats made me terribly sick and as someone who suffers with asthma the chest infection is much worse I was told to take paracetamol even though I’ve said I’ve tried painkillers, soup, teas literally everything. I was still told I wasn’t sick enough for antibiotics. A doctor surgery should make u feel welcome and safe. But now I feel like I can’t go to them for anything because they do not help!

  • Jane Collins

Why are the receptionists so rude & unhelpful? Every other GP practice in the area will help with appointments etc, not this lot, even though I said my laptop was out of action I was told to fill out the online form to get an appointment - even though I was there in person & she was standing next to her screen!! And that was only after she'd dragged herself away from chatting to her colleagues, and myself and another person were standing in the rain waiting to be attended to. Don't the doctors care about how their receptionists come across to the public?

  • Jane Webb

No understanding of mental health. I cant cope with the phone so they leave answerphone messages and ask me to phone them. But I could cope with a text. They make referrals which get cancelled because I cant cope with being assessed by phone and they dont even tell the referal agent to assess by writing or one to one assessment. So in 3 yrs Ive had next to no care and absolutely no support. Its only because of self care and self help my condition has improved. If I could cope with complaints Id go to CQC. But Im improving so maybe not much longer.

  • Di Grist

Have been at this surgery since 1952 and since Dr Sylvester retired it has got progressively worse. The best doctor they had was Dr Balaji and he left! Can't make an appointment more than two weeks in advance and I'm pretty sure no one checks previous history when you go for an a consultation! Now trying to get online so rang on 20th and told online services only do Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so rang today and she’s not in until Thursday. Clearly the receptionist couldn’t give a damn. Time to move on! Just wish I could give a minus score.

  • Adam Russell

Trying to book an appointment is absolutely pointless here! This is why whenever I need help I go straight to A&E, it might be wasting there time and mine but I know I will be seen. Just called to make an appointment for my two year old, I'm told it's fully booked for two weeks. So, if you know you're going to be ill or have anything serious then you need to call them two week prior to knowing. Definatially moving the family to somewhere else, which seems like most people are doing at this place because it's not even near good.

  • Patrick Richardson

If we’re possible to give a minus rating then a minus 5 would be appropriate here. If your sick and in need of compassion advice assistance or maybe even some medical help keep clear of this practice unless you want to add mental health issues to your list of ailments because these useless unhelpful rude individuals will drive you made with shocking levels of incompetence. And just in case I haven’t been particularly clear do your self a favour and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE ANYWHERE ELSE

  • Liam McCartney

I understand and I appreciate the receptionists may very well be over-worked but their lack of compassion and professionalism is simply unacceptable. Some amazing GPs and nurses at the practice; However to access them is hell. Telephone appointments constantly. Not everything can be solved by a telephone appointment when people are otherwise engaged. Please set up video-calls and diary manage effectively to aid the GPs and nurses! Many thanks.

  • Tracey

I have been waiting for this surgery to get back to my medical solictor for several weeks now which they have finally done today, when I spoke to my solictor today he informed me that in all the years doing this job he has never came across a surgery has bad has this one. Also when trying to make a appointment all you get told is to email, no one wants to help you and no one seems to know what they are doing USELESS!!!

  • Paul Whitaker

This is a Minus 2 Star review of the Welling Surgery - the one in New Eltham is miles better. My partner has just been told they are following a 13 week gap before giving the second Covid vaccination. Goodness knows why as NHS guidelines say 11-12 weeks. Unfortunately it is just par for the course with what is a useless practice whose doctors are only interested in you as a patient if there is money in it for them.

  • Graham Tolley

I’ve been lucky and not needing to visit the surgery for many years , today I made contact by phone and asked to make an appointment to see the doctor, the receptionist very abruptly said there were no appointments available and then proceeded to question me regarding my symptoms ! Really!!! Can I suggest that the General Practitioners recruit a practice manager to bring this surgery into the 21st century.

  • CLAIRE MORGAN

My 19 year old daughter has been battling with a serious condition for almost 2 years and we have been back and forth via here and hospitals. Today she had a face to face with Dr Andrews, who was very rude and abrupt and basically told her she had no reason to go in. Wanted to know what she expected him to do! He reduced her to tears! This is absurd and this matter will be taken further.

  • Carolyn Haider

Impossible to get an appointment. On 2 separate occasions I've had to use the e-consult request as can't get through to anyone. First time was for my son and we ended up taking him to urgent care after no response for 2 days. (It wasn't that urgent but we did need to see someone.) Again, I have no response from my e-consult after 3 days and noone picks up the phone. Ridiculous.

  • Paula Dillnutt

On 13th September 2023, my sister became unwell while I was out with her. So I went into the doctors surgery and asked for help. Straight away the receptionist got a lovely lady doctor who took us straight into a room and called the ambulance. Where we found out she had a mini stroke. Well done to you all, what a great service you gave us that day. I can’t thank you enough.

  • Darren Aris

  • Seyoum Fantaye

The people at the reception don't even know the ABCD of customer service no courtesy or politeness at all. They dictate the service, when you call to have an appointment, it sounds like I am the service provider not them. The reception is the face of any service provider this one hasn't got a face at all!

  • mark longmore

Can never get through!! Usually have to wait on hold for over 30 minutes every time you call!! Absolute joke of a doctor's practice! Pathetic drove round to the surgery in the end to find them just sitting there at reception!!! Well done to the practice for increasing your carbon footprint!!

  • Anne Camara

I’ve been treated like a dog by the recepcionistas, I’ve been waiting more than three weeks to get a whooping cough injection because I’m pregnant, I’ve called this gp constantly without success! No empathy, just felt discriminated by the staff there! Not respectful at all! Awful practice!

  • Ryan Fox

Only gave it 1 as no option for 0. Awful and rude receptionist, they never ever answer the phone and when they do all the appointments have gone, even though your on hold. I wish I could leave but all the other surgeries are full, probably from disgruntled patients from here

  • Peter Ellingford

The problem with this surgery is that there is a person on reception who is rude, un cooperative and puts the others down to face criticism. The doctors are really helpful once you can see them. The surgery manager. Needs to take this on board and rectify the problem

  • Steve

Rubbish gp waited 30 mins on hold to book a appointment to be told I can't I have to do a walk in an may be seen,, when I said iv been on hold 30 minutes rude receptionist replied I'm really busy,, yea busy doing what being rude to other patients, useless surgery

  • Michele Fearn

My daughter waited in the phone for 2 and a half hours to get help fr her child. Ended up going to the surgery only to be told call 111. Absolutely disgusting. I have been at this practice for 36 years. Looking to find a good Drs. Only 1 i found I'm out the area

  • PancakePals -

Been with them for over two years and can never ever make an appointment, takes ages to even speak to receptionist over the phone and their best advise is for you to go to a&e because they are full Very very bad customer service, don't bother with this surgery

  • Jake Dennison (Cut Throat Jake)

The reception at this place is a joke, arrogant and take any opportunity to flex their little authority they could, they don’t even open lines in the morning on time and if you go there in person they ignore you for 10-15 mins before talking to you. Useless

  • Pauline Boanas

Trying to get an appointment is a complete joke. Dec 1999 they had 199 missed appointments and said 19 patients had multiple DNA. If that’s the case they should cancel their registration. Been like this for years and can’t see it getting any better …

  • Ion Ceban

3 october was at gp! regards my pain on right lung...after covid...pneumonia..they send me to do xray at Queen Mary hospital. .after 3 months no answer from then...today I been again...and they seid I need to wait more.... P.S useless!!!

  • vicki

The doctors themselves are very good but it’s actually getting past the reception stage which is the issue. Not being able to get through on the phone and when you eventually do you are greeted with rudeness most of the time.

  • Diana Parahuleu

The male GPs from Asian origin are very rude, 2ice I have been told " if you don't like it, change the practice" If this is a human treating of patients, of course the rating of the practice is slightly above 1

  • Peter Morris

I had an outpatient appointment for removal of a cyst on my neck. The appointment was on time, the procedure was professional and pain free. Very satisfied with the care that I received. Bravo and thank you.

  • Raegan Chambers

Would like to thank the male gp I saw multiple times over my concerns that may seem trivial to others, but he/they made me feel heard and went above and beyond to listen to me and give me support. Thank you

  • Ravi Heer

Never had any bad experiences with this surgery been with them a long time now, if I can't get through on the phone there are always appointments on the NHS App, last appointment seen on time no issues,

  • Kathryn Perkins

Absolutely appalling customer service. Always on hold for atleast 15 mins to get through to reception and can never get an urgent appointment. Always end up having to go to urgent care.

  • Jennifer Diamond

Friendly receptionist and I was given a call back from the doctor virtually straight away who sorted a prescription very quickly. Lovely manner, very helpful. I'm grateful - thank you!

  • Ryan Barnes

No wonder why so many people continue to be sick or worse. Customer care is terrible, spent over 45 minutes on hold then to have someone answer and hang up immediately. Utter joke.

  • tony sales

I've been at this surgery for years, they get everything wrong. All the staff have an attitude except for one. If you are looking for a doctor this is not the one! Dreadful!!!

  • Deaders76

Normally the staff are friendly and helpful, but I have had one or two that don’t really care and trying to get through to them on the phone is pretty much impossible

  • Lexi Dredge

Very rude customer service reception and waiting for 15 to 20 minutes and somtisome you have to pick up and wait ages for appointment and you can't reach them.

  • Ionut Rosu

The lady’s from the reception was a bit racist . I was discriminated telling me the bank statement is not a proof of the Adresse. Not recommend this clinic

  • Ana-Maria Trifan

Absolutely disgusting experience every time I call the Practice. If the receptionist hears you have an accent, they are racist, rude and most unhelpful.

  • Stuart

The receptionists here are horrendous, the docs rush you out the door and if you want travel jabs, forget it, they never have a nurse available. AVOID

  • M

One star is too good. The receptionists just can't cope, they are really unprofessional. I waited 40 minutes to see the nurse, I left, waste of time.

  • Abiha Khan

They don’t even deserve one star rating..Worst customer care and reception service, never have any appointment, don’t know why they are still open.

  • Elvis Elvis

The reception ladys was unusefull and racist. Didn't want me to register because my bank statement she said is not proof of address. Disgraceful

  • M T

I am totally ashamed of being a patient of the practice. IMO all receptionist staff should be sacked and employ competent front desk staff!

  • Loma Chen

Although the Practice has had a few hiccups in the past, seems to be getting back on track, patient care very good, well done, keep it up.

  • Aleksandra Malinowska

I have never met such incompetent employees in my life. The fourth day I'm calling and no one is obligated to pick up the phone.

  • Óli Gunnar Gunnarsson

Had to do an eConsault 3 times and call in 3 times just to get one appointment. Took me 4 weeks to get 1 call from my GP

  • Katie Richards

Rude staff who don’t want to help you and give you attitude over the phone. Shouting at me when im crying down the phone

  • Thames LondonMail

Receptionists are all really helpful and friendly, but the actual speed the GP gets things done is amazingly slow

  • Michael Larkin

I've just waited 25 minutes to be answered and they will not even take an appointment for a nurse over the phone.

  • Rashana Ali

The receptionist who wears glasses and has hair up is rude and unprofessional bad attitude towards patients.
