It's been run down for so long but now, some great development. A new imaginative playground, pathways, seats and barbeques. The playground includes an earth mound with slides and climbing equipment. There's also a great water play area. Set in remnant and planted bushland with an oval and a golf course, it's a huge area. The grandkids love it. Great place to walk the dog (must stay on lead).
Playground
Brand new and fantastic. A mound with slides, soft surfaces for climbing and other challenging equipment.
Dog-friendliness
Lots of interesting bush trails for dogs (on lead only)

Great park overall. Good for the kids with the relatively large playground which the kid would be enjoy. There are also two old trams on site as well which could benefit from a good clean and restoration. There is also a nice cottage as well for functions/wedding - very picturesque, like something out of a Beatrix Potter book. What can they improve on? Public toilet is pretty average. Men's toilets locks are all broken as well which the Council need to fix. Overall good place for picnic and get together with friends.

Wattle Park is a great park for family gatherings, picnics etc. There is a bar be cue, a few tables with bench seats, a couple of old trams have been secured in the park for children to play on as well as other climbing equipment and a slide. At the moment - December/January - the park is very dry. I would love to visit again after some cooler, wetter weather. There is adequate parking, mostly in the shade and a couple of parking spacrs ate allocated for Disability Parking.

Nice large sized suburban park with many tall Euculypt trees providing a home and food for many birds. We saw lots of Cockatoos and Corellas. Highlight were the Gang-Gang cockatoos, cracking open the seemingly impenetrable gum nuts! Currently the park is undergoing some upgrades, including repairs to the heritage buildings, old trams and installing a new playground. Expected to be completed soon. Should be good when they it's all finished.

One good thing to come out of lock down is that we have spent a bit more time finding places to go that are local to us. Wish we'd known about this park much earlier - lovely walk, fun play area for the kids, and old trams converted so you can have picnics in them. And even though there were quite a few people there, it did not really feel that busy because of the size of the park.

An expansive park with a whole range of tracks and some great picnic spots. The tram is an undercover seating area and great for larger groups and picnics. There's a small park a various tracks including more hilly routes and several that were quite flat. Lots of birdlife here and ample shade on the walks from the tree cover. Good for running or taking the dog for a long walk!

A great local park for long country walks. I come here to play tennis in the summer and there's always a fitness group, footy or cricket team playing on the oval. The barbecue area is free and the old trams are a great attraction for the kids. There are also a nice 9 hole golf course and a very classic garden Chalet that my auntie was married at a couple of years ago.

  • Timea Kiss

absolutely loving this park. shot some of my new music video here today! my dog came with me and couldn’t stop smiling. beautiful foliage, expansive greenery with so many tall trees and hidden areas to explore, it’s a great place for the whole family, toilets and water taps available. i could take my shoes off and simply relax for hours!

This park has a lot to offer. Whether one wants to play cricket on a newly built pitch or to experience running in the woods, this park is a must visit. Also, the 2 tram models parked there provide a unique touch to it while providing a vintage experience at the same time. It has got a golf course, tennis club and a wedding venue too.

The park is huge. Great for picnics with the gas BBQs near the old trams close to the playground. Great oval that attracts tonnes of joggers who have made their own path around it. Numerous tracks (kms) throughout. Lots of park benches to rest. Not allowed to fly remote helis, drones or planes due to hospital within 5km.

nice park, peaceful when its not crowded, and great for barbecues. theres quite a few trails that lead into the "forest" area which are quite fun to explore. there are around two ponds, one large "woods" area, an oval, a picnic/barbecue spot, and a playground. there is also a running/walking circuit which is quite good

Great public park. Wattle Park is MASSIVE with a lot of hidden gems to find and a long history behind it. Wattle Park is a fantastic choice to bring the family. There are large open areas to kick the footy, take photos etc. A playground, barbecues and two decommissioned B class trams that hold park benches to eat at.

  • Busy Man

Wattle Park is a hidden gem in Burwood, Victoria. It has amazing views, historic features, native plants and animals, and lots of activities for kids. It is open every day from sunrise to sunset, and it is free to enter. Wattle Park is a great place to relax, play, or explore. Highly recommend!!!

  • M L

Nice park with heaps of nature all around. Unfortunately the kids playgrounds are closed at the moment because of covid restrictions but there are still trails around the park to walk. We saw kookaburras and lots of parrots. It's quite an enjoyable trip and definitely worth checking out.

  • Ella

Great scenery my dog and I think. Lovely nature reserve and playground with seating, excellent place to go on a Sunday arvo. There's nothing bad I have to say about this park besides from the poor colour choices on the play equipment but I am an entire or designer so I am very picky.

  • Tammy Ratnayake

It is a beautiful place. Needs bit more maintenance as I heard some branches cracking up last night but did not come out of the tree. There can be dead branches on trees that are dangerous to public on windy days. Other than that could not have enough of this place... …

  • Heather Whitby

Attended for a funeral service. Very nice place however, biggest problem was a big lack of speakers. Not sure who arranges that side of things but so disappointing not to be able to hear the speakers on the day. People go to a lot of trouble to write their eulogies.

  • G Lee

Huge park with lots of space for different workouts. There are walking paths galore as well as an oval. You can walk the loop from the carpark along the path bordering Riversdale & Elgar Roads for approx. 2km. That's also the Tram playground for the little people.

  • Matej Satur

Delightful unfussed back to nature park. Excellent big walks with lots of local fauna and flora. Enjoyable quirky public golf course. Highly recommended. Dog friendly, exciting child's playground, toilets, BBQs, and W class trams for the children to play in.

  • Kaichong T

Great Australian bush park. Kids love the playgrounds and the 2 tram shells pretending to be tram drivers. Giod BBQ facilities. Great area for picnic or BBQ for a larger group. Walking or cycling track available. Drive into car park via Monsbrough Dr.

  • Helen Forbes

Peaceful and happy time playing with our grandchildren again at last. A couple more swings would be great. Would be lovely for the tea rooms to open for take away coffee. A great midway spot to meet family while the 25km restriction applies.

  • Tim Richardson

4 bbq hot plates, tables, toilets, a little store as part of the golf and decent parking. The trees are all eucalyptus which means the shade is poor and there is no lawn. It looks all a bit 1950s. It's ok but there are much better parks. It

  • Kitty Kat

Regular visitor to this park. Played tennis and golf here and walks and jogs are challenging with the huge change in height over long walking/jogging tracks. The massive gums and small water area running through the park attractive to lots

  • Alexandros Karvounis

It's a spacious and lovely park that features historic buildings, picnic grounds and recreational facilities. It's an excellent location for a variety of activities with family and friends. The Chalet, which is situated next to the parking

  • Rakesh Saha

Wattle park has it all - a chalet that has preserved its heritage, a fantastic circuit for hiking, kids' play areas, enough space for parking, decent bbq cooktops. However, a shed in the bbq area is badly needed ( the vintage tram carriage

  • prabha lenin

beautiful park with Lots of Wattle trees and eucalyptus trees, with many trails to interest an avid walker or a family, good size play area for young children. just pack some snacks, walk the trail & relax in the benches at the play area.

  • John Sharon Kirk

Playground is not easy to find, but it is just near the Chalet. Large space for kids to run. Large number of tables and some BBQ facilities (love the tables inside the trams, yes there are 2 old trams here). Parking was also ok for us

  • raghu K

Best place for day walks and causal gatherings with friends. Tall eucalyptus trees and various treed all around. Even on a sunny day one can definitely find a shadow under tree with cool breezes to chill alone and read a book or so.

  • Kevin Marsden

Really enjoyed the park, but as it was 20°c it was ideal. I dread however, what it would be like in summer with no shade and metal slides! Please cover the park so it will be usable, as besides that, it was a lot of fun for everyone

  • Nara Lee

Huge park! Great place to walk, run or cycle. Plenty of shade for the sunnier days and ample parking to be found. Quite hilly and has a few steeper slopes, so just make sure to watch your step. Lovely visit. Kookaburras here, too!

  • Chris Gallant

This park is a delightful bush reserve in the middle of suburbia with a mixture of Australian native and European flora. Great place for walking the dog. The Chalet is a very nice function Centre set in the middle of the park

  • Ian Cunnington

Very peaceful and old trams as picnic venues and old tennis courts. Open native tree space but no adventure playground for kids. Bring an old tennis racket and an furry dog ball, a kite, a football or a dog or two on a lead.

  • Lindsay Morley

I'm often here for relaxation and a brief walk. Park is well kept and quiet, it's on a hill, has paths and a sealed road. Playground is very popular for the young. Will be nicer when restoration of the trams is complete.

  • Louise Ramsay

Bit sad that the whole park seems to be not very well maintained. Lots of storm damage from 2 weeks previous. The chalet itself is still a beautiful building, but once again, the garden lacked mowing and maintenance.

  • Ray Stephens

Still preserved as much as it were when first seen in 1967. Bit traffic noisier, but the Botanical growth reduces this a bit. Saw no tadpoles in creek, which might be out of season until later next year with Spring.

  • Leanne W

Accessible by No. 70 tram or car - plenty of parking. Large park with plenty of trees, native birds, wetlands, creek, walking tracks, playgrounds, old trams, bbq's, chalet for group functions, oval, Lone Pine tree

  • Pants

Always a great place for a friends catch up & bbq. Good clean easy to operate bbqs, don’t forget to clean up after use ! The playground & tram in need of an update but still a great place for kids to run & explore.

  • Amy Quinn

A great park, loads of tracks to choose from. Very easy walking and a good playground complete with old trams. A great place to visit to get away from it all in the middle of a leafy pretty neighbourhood.

  • A. L

It’s a beautiful and quiet park, my 3yo loves this place so much. The playgrounds are surrounded by a lot of big trees, it’s very chill and comfortable. It’s great for family gatherings and picnics.

  • Sagar Dutta

Great park with walking paths and bbq facilities. it is especially nice this time of the year when wattle is blooming. The old trams in the play area are nice for kids and the park has easy access

  • Sabrina H

Nice park for bushwalk and picnic with a massive playground for kids. Plenty of bench seats and picnic tables with bbq facilities. There are two old trams transformed into undercover picnic areas.

  • Donald McLean

A great place for a walk.....extremely well maintained by Parks Victoria. Pity Boroondara Council can't maintain its parks to the same standard. And the little coffee shop makes good coffee too.

  • Will D

Beautiful parklands with amazing walking tracks through the bush land and also open space to have picnics and BBQ’s. A new playground has been built which great for kids. Definitely recommend.

  • Chandra Vadapalli

Great place to hang out for the day with kids. Lots of seating area, ample parking Getting in and out on the play trams in the parks keeps the kids busy and something new for them.

  • Anton ANTON

A great park to take a walk, picnic, jogging, BBQing, you name it. It's got playground for children and a golf course next to it. You can host your wedding in the chalet here too.

  • James Pereyra

Good walking track bit of up and down hill which make it great for exercise but not steep hills. Would walk it again

  • Ali M Saeed

Very spacious, nice walking trails, couldn’t see many birds, but that’s probably because of my timing, was midday.

  • Vincent W

Good large park to enjoy a walk in the eastern suburbs, some of the paths could be maintained a bit better though

  • lucinda ainsworth
