We stopped by Wally Pets with our 13 week old Bernedoodle today on the advice of our dog trainer because Wally Pets will loan you puppy harnesses that you can exchange out for bigger sizes as your puppy grows (so you don't wind up buying new harnesses every few months). Wow! That alone made the trip worth while but the staff at Wally Pets are amazing. They recommended new food (we wanted to switch off our breeders food) and provided us with tons of free samples so we could make sure our pup likes it and that it agrees with his stomach before purchasing. They recommended fabulous, stimulating toys and treats specific for our puppy's breed and tempreament (and let him try the toys out too!) and never tried to upsell us on anything. Geniunely good people that sell high quality products. Our pup also got a free squeaky hedgehog he is obsessed with already. Wally Pets will be our only pet store from now on. This is a great local business worth supporting!

Paul Brown (the owner of the pet shop) is the most incredible person on this planet. He cares about all animals, that said, he selects and carries quality supplies. He always gives great instructions and suggestions when any customers purchase anything new from their routines, or even just any questions. My dogs adore him, and now all I need to say to them is "wanna visit Paul?" and they would get their ass up ASAP and ready to go! I highly recommend this pet shop because of the great energy, staff, customers, and pets you get to meet here. Most importantly, very cool architecture elements. I went into the store for the first time on Friday and the first thing that made me feel welcome was the way that they greeted me. They have some of the top quality brands of pet food for some of the best prices and the cashier even told me that they have the best prices in town which I noticed while I was shopping. Also, they were so thoughtful and generous since they gave me a bunch of samples too as I was paying and about to leave. They not only have good quality products but their customer service is very positive. Because of all this I will definitely be back to shop here.

Wow! What a wonderful, friendly store. Paul the owner gave me helpful advice to keep my new puppy safe, healthy and the free hedgehog toy is adorable! The store clerk was also friendly and helped fit my puppy for a Wonder Walker harness. You pay for one harness and as your pup grows you can upgrade to the next biggest size for free. Amazing customer service! Now I don't want to go to any other pet store in Seattle, as this small business with quality inventory is my favorite go to place for everything I need for my precious furbaby. Highly, highly recommend!

I just adopted a dog and went in here to see what kind of things I might need to start with. I must have met the owner, because I left with a free toy, gratis food samples + treats and a good talk about settling in a new 4-legged family member. The store is clean and evenly split between food (the back half) and pet supplies (toys, harnesses, bowls, coats, etc etc). Everyone there seemed happy, excited for every pet that walked in and happy to see their humans as well. Honestly if I had an excuse to go in every day I would do it just for the positivity. :)

The absolute best pet store in Seattle! Our dog has a sensitive stomach and eats Fromm dog food, whcih is a Wisconsin based company. Upon moving to o Seattle, it was great to find they carried this brand and tried to always keep two bags in stock at all times. We have also called ahead and they will set aside any item you want to pick up later, which has been extremely helpful. Their prices are very competitive, even when compared to when we purchased the food back in Wisconsin. The staff is very friendly. I would highly recommend this store to anyone!!

I've had a lot of dogs in my life - from regular pets to professional competition dogs. So I know another smart dog person when I meet them, let me tell you - you're never going to find another store with an owner/operator like Brownie at Wally Pets. The selection of great food is astonishing and Brownie will order you anything he might not have on the shelf. His first concern is your dog's health and wellbeing. I can assure you that you're not going to leave this store without a smile on your face, shaking your head and saying, "What a great place!"

Paul is an amazing man. And his store is amazing as well. I only buy my dog needs here. He is always willing to help me get what I want. My dog is like a little kid in a candy store. When going to the Bark In Style next door for a bath, Freddy immediately goes to Wally Pets for love from the staff. After the bath he goes right back over there too. It's cute. All the reviews of this place are true! It was my first day with my new dog Gus and they showered him with toys and treats. While inside the store my dog was the most comfortable I have seen him since we'd met. The owner clearly loves his business and the clients who come in. He was actually telling me what not to buy in his store to save me money! This will be my go to pet store forever! The positivity in this place was rare. Before I left with my purchases they showered us with free toys and food.

The owner "Brownie" is a perfect example of a small specialty shop owner. He is very personable, knowledgeable in all products he carry, passionate about the work he does, and makes great product recommendations. I switched to a different type of cat food on Brownie's recommendation, our cats love their food, and I end up saving quite a bit of money on top of that. Oh, he remembers what our cats like, and he treats my two boys like his own grandsons. I cannot go anywhere else to buy pet items.

A fabulous shop with an equally fabulous staff who are genuinely caring and helpful. They carry or can get more unusual foods that the big boxes never heard of, or other stores don't have access to. Their prices are very reasonable, comparable or better than the other specialty stores in town. They are absolutely dedicated to making sure your pet is fed and safe. That is a real blessing. My next trip will be for some new food my kitty likes and checking out the extensive frozen raw products.

My partner just stopped by to pick up some cat food to hold us over a few days while we wait for our food to arrive from (unnamed large online pet retailer)-- that we had ordered in haste. When he simply asked for a recommendation on food, the associate at Wally gave him some sample packs of really nice food for free to hold us over. We are so touched. We will definitely be buying our cat's food from here in the future, to shop small & support local :) thank you again!

They are the nicest!! Make sure to bring your puppy in, they will let you use a harness and size up, no charge until your final size. This really keeps me coming back. I've gotten the K9 backpack there as well and sized up when my puppy had a growth spurt. They let my try dog socks....she hated it and I have them back. This place also has a great selection. I love their dog stuff and cat stuff. The toys are excellent. Lots of beds to choose from. I can't rave enough.

Allen the owner was charming and generous with his time. I can hardly believe I did not know about this locally owned pet store. Found them by searching for a very specific dog food. They have a great variety of foods and I liked that I could find choices that were from ethical companies that follow their ingredient sourcing and support good quality meats in the foods. Finally made my way to Wally Pets after loads of people recommended it. This shop is what small businesses are all about. The people who work there are so delightful and attentive to every customer. You can tell they're not trying to sell you anything you don't need and truly care about you and your pets. They have a cone loaner program where you simply borrow a soft surgical cone (~$30) and just return it when you're done. Love the sense of community here.

I just needed cat litter and happened upon this place because it was next door to a sushi restaurant I went to. The store was already closed, but the owner smiled and let me in and said, "Just get anything you need." So I grabbed a bag of litter and walked out the door, but not before he stopped me and gave me a new cat toy for my cats. This is why I support local business. I will definitely be coming back here again and maybe for the rest of time!

Paul from Wally's Pets is probably the sweetest most helpful man you could ever meet. He's very knowledgeable and always willing to help. We moved from Wallingford over a year ago, and we still make the drive to get our dog food from him and him alone. I will caution that because he's a little chatty and tries to be helpful, you may have to wait a bit to pay. Nothing wrong with that on my end, especially as you see the passion for pets in his eyes.

This is the store for any and all animal lovers in the area. On top of having the best selection of items for animal well-being, the owner and everyone I've met there have been some of the friendliest and sweetest people I've ever met. Paul has been an absolute pleasure to chat with everytime I've met him and he's really a pillar of the sort of community kindness I've come to love so much about Wallingford and have always loved in Seattle.

So, after getting lied to at Mud Bay I've now made it a point to only shop at local pet stores. This one by far has been the greatest experience I've had shopping in a pet store. Wally himself made it his pleasure to make sure I got everything I needed for my puppy. They even give a free toy away for new customers with new dogs. I will always go here now as long as I'm in Seattle. And everyone else who works there too is super super nice.

This store is loved by so many people for a reason. Paul is a kind-hearted member of the community that is genuinely here for the animals of Seattle. He was amazing with my dogs and incredibly knowledgeable about anything you'd want to know to raise your dog and make sure they are healthy/protected. I bought one of those pressed catnip balls while I was visiting Seattle from Denver. The owner insisted that I take home more toys so he gave me some for free for my cat to enjoy. My cat is picky, but the toy mouse he gave me was awesome and she is going crazy with it right now. I would highly recommend this shop. They have some very unique toys, good food, and more. The dog leashes made of climbing rope really caught my eyes.

I am traveling through Seattle and visit this store to buy some food for my cat. The owner, Paul brown, is a very kind person. I ordered cat wet can one week ago, but the products seem still out of stock. So I come back to store and meet the owner. He was very kind to me and wanted to help me order the canned food I wanted, giving me a discount and three extra packages of cat food. If I had the chance, I would come here again!

This place has the best service of any pet store I've ever been to. The owner and every staff member I've interacted with have been friendly, helpful, and genuinely concerned with helping me find the products I need. They've offered to give me samples of returned foods, cleaners, etc., but I'm happy to pay full price here because I'm confident in their recommendations, and know I can return it if it doesn't work for me.

Best Pet store in town! The owner Paul, really knows how to run a customer-first business. He truly runs his business out of love for pets and his customers. He'd probably be upset if you didn't tell him about a food or treat your pet didn't like. That said, there isn't a bad product in the store and he'll find something for your picky eater. I am very upset to be leaving the area, I know I won't find a better store.

I just got home from visiting Wally's with my tiny puppy Arya. She whined the entire car ride home cause she wanted to go back so bad. The staff is so knowledgeable and they suggested items you would definitely need but didn't think of. They also have lots of small size sample dog food to try. They are mainly organic which is important to me. They also had very competitive pricing. I will 100% be returning soon.

Had the pleasure of meeting the owner. I was buying specialty dog goggles for my sporting dog and Walley Pets happened to be the only pet store in WA that carries the product. I explained to the owner that my dog has an reoccurring eye injury and wants to get back out to doing what he loves. He was very supportive, kind and helpful. The pup loves the goggles and is ready to get back to having fun!

Wally Pets and Paul are the best. Cliche statement, but he really opitimizes a small community shop. He takes care of the customers, loves animals, and makes sure you have the right diet for your pup. The store has everything you would need and more. This is NOT a big box store, or corporate chain. I will not support anybody else, as Paul is a great guy and the store needs to be around forever!!

I seldom buy the brand I have in mind when I walk through the door, but the results are always better for their recommendations. A neighbourhood institution! Such a welcoming place and they care so much for your pets. Every time I go in they load me with freebies, hard to imagine how they make any money. They lent us a harness to try for our middle aged pup who has always pulled, she is much gentler on leash already, and they helped us order a custome new set to match -- leash, harness, and collar. We love Wallypets!

A wonderful local place to find supplies for a pet. The staff are always helpful and knowledgeable. They regularly show that their #1 interest is in healthy, happy animals - finding the right food to help a dog eat well, or the right crate for them to sleep well. They've given me plenty of advice as a new dog owner to get my puppy started off on the right paw. We'll be returning frequently.

LOVE this store. If I could give Wally Pets 10 stars I would! Paul and his staff are friendly, helpful and treat you like family. The selection is marvelous, the décor charming and they have the best dog bed selection in town. My basset hound absolutely adores her special flap bed I purchased at Wally Pets. They also do so much for my favorite rescue Old Dog Haven! Highly recommended!!!

Super nice pet shop that has everything good for your pet. We came in with our dog can left with so much more knowledge and tips from Paul. We got a bunch of Seattle made treats and toys for our doggo. Paul also helps us get fitted with a wonder walker and have us some ways to help with our dogs sensitive tummy. After our first visit, we decided it would be our go to pet destination!

Our pup always pulls us across the street when we're near here. Might have to do with the treats she gets from the cashier or the large amounts of pets and smells. As for the humans, the prices are pretty reasonable and the lady we've interacted with has been extremely helpful both to myself and other customers. Definitely a great spot to stop if you have a dog and are in the area.

I don’t know what I’d do without Wally Pets. Picture it… I come home from work and realize at 6:45 that I have no dog food. As I contemplate whether poor Joe is going hungry or getting a human meal, I realize I can run to Wally Pets. They’re open til 7! Problem solved! Love this shop, love the owners. We’re so fortunate they are part of the Wallingford neighborhood.

Solid selection of toys and balls especially from Chuckit! However the cashier was quite rude when we tried to shop. Paid us no mind, really seemed like they didn’t like something about us or our dog. Also just have a blatantly incorrect answer about a cooling mat. I feel bad returning product to a local store so I won’t, but just a negative experience in general.

Paul is wonderful! I brought in my rescued baby puppy and he spent time with us finding the right items, and made sure she left with lots of options to try and a hedgehog to play with as a welcome home gift! Wally Pets stocks all the hard to find premium foods and quality toys I could want for my dogs. I’ll be a customer as long as I live in the Seattle area!

Wonderful local shop with a wide assortment of options for your pets. We have a cat and dog and are able to get everything we need for them at competitive prices. The staff is also very warm and welcoming. There's even a "store dog" named Olive that is just as sweet, warm, and welcoming to every person (and dog) that comes through the door.

Great variety of options. The owner is very knowledgeable and does his best to take a personal interest in everybody that walks in. When we were switching our dog food over he have us four or five samples (and these weren't tiny sample bags) for hardly anything at all. And prices are comparable to any big name pet stores around the area!

This store is well stocked. It was the only local store I could find that has the My Perfect Pet brand low phosphorus lamb based food for my dog who has renal failure. (I am wary of big named brands like Science Diet that have had recalls for toxins and processing their foods in undisclosed Chinese locations.) The staff is very friendly.

I found this little pet store through a friend. Paul is so knowledgeable about all his products and really wants to get to know his customers as well as their pets. I live on the Eastside but stop by to see Paul whenever I can make it over. It is completely worth the drive to support such an amazing store.

Took my little Samoyed puppy here for the first time today and staff was so welcoming! They gave him a Christmas stocking filled with goodies - food, treats, toys galore. They were very helpful in advising on puppy-safe, fully ingestible, long-lasting chews. Would highly recommend this store for your pet!

Paul made sure our yellow lab started life out right! always gave us food sample boxes so we weren't spending outrageous amounts of money on puppy food, and plenty of toys, truly Wallys pets was one of the parts about wallingford/Freemont that we loved the most. Had to get a cat Carrier last minute on Thanksgiving. This was the only store that was open and they were absolutely phenomenal and so kind they stayed open for long enough for me to come down to get a cat Carrier. Because of their kindness I was able to get my new best friend Lenny the Kitty

We love the clay litter dried by sun instead of chemicals available here. Additionally, I love being able to try out different wet foods, being able to bring back extras if the cats reject it. Finally, the staff and customers are so friendly and I love that regulars know each other.

Everyone is super lovely and helpful! They took the time to talk about my cat's specific needs and sent me home with free toys and food samples :) Prices may be a tad more than a chain pet store, but it's definitely worth the experience and supporting this loving, small business.
