DOG PARK NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE. As residents of NW Portland, my wife and I (both wheelchair users) have heard people speak fondly of this dog park. The overall area was very nice, with paved paths abd a varieties of different spaces. We arrived to the dog park to find there was a step down into the space, which meant neither of us could access the dog play area. I hope an email to the Portland Parks can start a conversation on how to make your space accessible to all users. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to take a photo of the entrance as an example of the issue. Could someone please post a picture of the step down from the second gate?

Even in the twilight, folks gather here to hang out on the lawn. At other times there's basketball, canine recreation (in and outside the dog park), kids on playground equipment. Even Quidditch! And what other park annually hosts hundreds who come to see a grand avian event - the "Wallace Swift Watch" - when in September, thousands of migrating birds called Swifts swarm and circle overhead before settling in Wallace School's chimney for the night. All month long! How cool is that?!

We came here a few times while staying in Portland with our daughter. She loved the playground selection and seeing the dogs running around. Overall just a great vibe at this park with a lot of use, and it felt very safe the few times we visited.

Can be dusty in the summer and muddy in the winter but it’s in a great location and it’s located within a large park area. Usually shaded from the sun so it’s nice for the dogs to stay cool when it’s hot. Fresh water fountain for the dogs and there’s usually a ton of tennis balls around.

I like the school Park there's tennis courts and it's really big and their swings that go really high so it's a cool part dog park 2. There's ttrees, climb to the top way up there!! Every fall season Swifts dive into the school chimney, scores of them!! Playing field.

The restrooms are now open with two additional porta-potties. The park has an off leash dog are, basketball court, children's play ground, two baseball areas and an open field. The tennis courts are on the other side of the elementary school adjoining the park.

I would give 5 stars if the bathrooms would open back up b/c that's the only bad part about this park, no bathrooms ANYWHERE even close. Aside from that there's a nice dog run section that's always steady packed. 2 baseball girls, 2

This park is that fire. Y'all know how it is. Fire is as fire does. And this park does have excellent basketball courts, a dog park, bathrooms, and a big open field. Right in NW Portland! What more could one ask for?

Nice park in the neighborhood with multiple playground areas for the little ones, tennis and basketball courts, and hidden away in a residential area keeps this place free of homeless/drug addicts and urban campers.

Nice quiet park where you can commute to via bus or streetcar or park nearby. There are children nearby during school hours, but there is enough space to not need to be inundated with kid sounds. Dog friendly.
