Pharmacy is grossly understaffed. New changes cause huge inconvenience to customers...requiring ID now for some meds, certain meds now must be called in instead of using refill on the app (spent an hour on hold just to verbally refill my prescription), they don’t order enough meds to cover monthly prescriptions, I had to call again to question them about stock before I was offered a partial refill. Returned 5 days later to pick up the rest of my prescription and drive-thru was closed for no reason. I don’t appreciate being forced to go inside an unsafe location simply because Walgreens won’t properly staff the pharmacy. I attempted to transfer my prescription to another pharmacy due to constant stocking issues and found out, that is not allowed without doctor’s phone call now. Good luck retaining pharmacy customers by making the process so much more inconvenient, inconsistent, and inefficient. The money you’re “saving” by understaffing will not be worth the loss in profit you see from customers leaving. I hate to assume the worst, but wonder if other locations in Bloomington or Edina are experiencing these things or if the company decided that customers at Hiawatha location had less resources and more likely to accept sub-par services than people at other locations. Let’s make it harder for people already struggling because their time, health, and convenience is less important (sarcasm), thanks Walgreens.

I have finally given up on the Walgreens pharmacy. I liked that I got texts when my prescription was done, but they get absolutely everything else wrong. My doctor called in a prescription and I got a text saying that they were out of the drug (it's commonly available and they did have it in the end), so I called them and asked that it be transferred to another Walgreens that *did* have the medication. After being on hold for ten minutes, she came back and said that the doctor prescribed the wrong dosage, that his prescription wasn't covered but another dosage would be. So I messaged my doc and they sent another script. I get another text saying that the med would cost $30. I called back and they said that my insurance would only cover a different brand of the same drug but not the generic brand. I asked why and they told me to call my insurance. Thirty minutes later I find from my insurance that the drug isn't in their formulary so it wasn't covered at all, and that that's what they told Walgreen's in the first place. Bye Walgreen's. I'm switching to a local pharmacy (and I'm already glad I did). Addendum: this Walgreens, and many of the others in the area, has an expired drug depository to safely dispose of drugs. But all of them have been full (and locked) for weeks, and the managers have no idea who managed the bins, or even who to call about them being full. We found one at another local pharmacy.

While the daytime people have their issues, nothing compares to the overnight guy. He is rude, condescending, extremely judgmental and unprofessional. He seems to think he can change store policy whenever he needs to (to avoid filling things while someone is waiting). He seems to think he can pry into my CONFIDENTIAL relationship with my doctor, and judge his prescriptions for me ("I've told you to talk to your doctor about this many times!"). I am not on any pain killers or anything addicting, or any controlled substance. I would kinda understand if I was coming in early for oxycontin, but I'm simply trying to fill my zoloft. I usually can only come overnight because of my work schedule. I've actually had to figure out his schedule so I can wait until someone else is working overnights because he causes a lot of anxiety for me. In my 50+ years on this planet I have NEVER experienced something like this. I don't seem to be alone there. I am probably going to call corporate about this, because honestly, he's really, really bad for the store/company. If there was ANY close option besides there I'm sure most of us would go. I'm not sure what to do at this point.

The worst Walgreens in the city. This place would be out of business if it wasn't for the location. The lines are long, not by the amount of traffic through the store but by the incompetent people behind the registers who create bottlenecks for the store operation. Do not expect to "just be in and out". I made that mistake yesterday. Took me a total of 1.5 minutes to find what I needed in the store. Got in line at the register, 3 people ahead of me. Another register opens, GREAT, with 2 registers i'll be out of here in no time, now i'm next in line. Waited for 15 minutes behind what seemed to be a regular return, however the worker couldn't figure out how to return anything. After 15 minutes, I hopped to the other line, next person in line in this line now. Somehow waited another 10 minutes while this lady figured out the concept on how a debit card works. It's been 25 minutes now, so I left that line and begged the guy behind the camera area to check me out. After 30 minutes, i finally purchased my $2 item. With all that hassle I should have just stole it. Clean house with your employees or make this place a CVS.

The truth about this Walgreens is you do NOT care about your over night crew. You do not give legal breaks, as witnessed by multiple customers who come in and see Jaymie at all hours of the night pushing through at the front desk with absolutely no assistance no matter how often she calls her manager and requests a break. Her codes go unanswered by her boss. Her calls for help go unanswered. She didn't get a break last night and she rarely gets legal breaks at all, I'm sure if you check your tapes you'll see as much. This will be reported by me if not her. Still, she keeps her best customer service up. You need to get more help for your staff or retrain your manager because they're not responding to help calls or breaking their staff. She comes home crying and PHYSICALLY SICK because she's not being taken seriously or given LEGAL breaks. What's worse? She has diabetes and she's got a blood clot in her leg that makes these breaks essential. Show that you care, like your ads suggest, and start caring for your staff. I mean, read the comment below, she's the best part of your overnight crew and you need her.

I was here at about 11pm on Saturday the 22nd. I needed to pick up some medicine for my son who just got out of the emergency room and needed some prescriptions to help him breathe. My wait time was near an hour. And then the pharmacist who helped me wouldn't accept our health insurance (even though the hospital had just accepted it, it had been accepted by our primary care doctor, and another pharmacy). We called our insurance company and we are in good standing. The insurance representative says that it should have gone through at the pharmacy. I had to pay out of pocket for medicines my son desperately needed. I didn't feel like the pharmacist was on my side in trying to solve this. I felt like he just wanted to get me out of the store as fast as possible. I don't know if it was his fault or the system he was using. I could have used some help on a rough night for my family, but all I got was aggravation.

  • Lizzy Nelson Fitness

I'm aggravated I even have to give this place one star. I've been forced to come here multiple times because it's the only 24 hour Walgreens around my house, but it doesn't matter what time of day I come here I'm always waiting inside or outside at least 20 minutes or more and the staff are extremely rude! I once visted another Walgreens and I told them about my experience there and they were surprised because they do much more prescriptions at their location and had me in and out within 10 minutes of dropping my presciprtion off! One time a doctor sent my prescription in, I called to confirm it would be ready asap, I waited 2 hours didn't hear anything called back and at this point it was 1am and they said they hadn't started it yet!! I could write a book, I have never written a review about anywhere in my life but this place is the WORST I will drive any length to any other pharmacy to avoid coming here.

  • Caitlin M

I have had crazy waits here before, but today is the last straw. I made an appointment to be vaccinated at a specific time. I was at the pharmacy for an HOUR - 5 minutes before the appointment to 55 minutes after it. That is how long they took to get around to vaccinating me. Then, I had filled out the paperwork online which the app prompted me to do - but I was told they have no way of accessing that and that I have to fill out a paper copy of the form. Brutal, just brutal experience. Every time I go there is a line and they are very very slow to get through it, whether it's the drive through or inside the store. To top it all off this location is just a bit sketchy in general. I am switching to Costco. I should have been in and out in a few minutes, the vaccination itself took less than a minute. Save your time and avoid the stress of going here.

Daughter and I had to wait in the parking lot for over an hour for them to just locate the prescription that the doctor just sent in to treat her for the Flu. The pharmacist said she couldn't find it in the system even after we called the doctor and confirmed that they sent it to that specific location. When we sat in the drive through pharmacy waiting she came back to yell at us saying that we could not wait there, it was 8 PM and there is another lane, don't understand what the matter was. After an entire hour of waiting and putting up with everything she never ended up doing anything to work towards a resolution so my daughter had to spend the night with the Flu with no medicine. Then we had to deal with getting the prescription to a different pharmacy. Will never go there again, that is a given.

  • Vernia Coleman

The costumer service of the pharmacist that runs all of it is very horrible she’s hella rude she yelled at us for “harassing” the lady that helped us at the window but we didn’t we were simply telling her that we got a text for the medication we need being ready and that’s all we were trying to say but she got the lady that runs the whole pharmacy and she yelled at us and said “we just got it 5 minutes ago and we’ve been nothing but patient to you guys” but it was supposed to be done inna hour and we went a hour after calling. my sister went to the hospital last night and hasn’t had her nebulizer medication for 2 months because of them and we’ve called a nursing line 10 times in the past 2 days to get it because she used half of a inhaler after getting it cus she couldn’t breath

  • William Linstrom

Not 24/7! I see a lot of bad reviews about wait times for prescriptions which personally I understand with the current employee shortage. I also understand not being able to run 24/7 for that same reason. What I don't understand is not updating your hours online, or updating the voicemail so when people look it up or call the store, they know the true hours. I pulled up at 11:30 after calling and checking online and both said they were open 24/7. When I arrived and they weren't open I sat in my car for 10 mins and counted 12 cars that pulled in, found out it was closed and left. Really sad that the managers won't take 15 minutes to update the information, and save all of their night customers a pointless trip.

  • Salika Pao

I was in the baby section looking for formula. I needed an assistant to get them. I went to grab an assistant that was in eye sight instead of pressing the button. When we got to the formula, he yelled at me to press the button next time and showed me the button to press. Excuse me but you were within eyesight. Didn't know it was such a big deal. Then I asked if there was any more. He angrily snap back at me quickly saying that's all they had. He brought the formula to the front without saying anything else. I brought this up to the cashier and she said that was the manager I was dealing with. What a rude encounter I had with the manager.

  • Andy Mott

Consistently the worst experience I’ve ever had with a pharmacy. Drive through is always a mess (huge line). They’re always baffled by attempt to pay or pick up purchases made via their app. Typical exchange goes like this - they tell me prescription will be ready in 15-20 minutes. I go shopping for 30+ minutes then return and try the drive through where I wait another 10 minutes to be told that the prescription will be another 15-20 minutes. Wildly frustrating. This time I used the wait time to setup mail order delivery of prescription via CVS which - I pray - means I’ll never have reason to return.

  • Brian Alcaide

Literally the worst pharmacy I’ve ever dealt with in my life. 45 minutes to get anyone on the phone, I asked to have a prescriptions order faxed to my doctor, they only requested one (the one I specifically said I did not need right away), and absolutely ZERO accountability for mistakes. I literally had one of the staff tell me it was my fault that my prescription was filled at a pharmacy on the other side of the city for some dumb reason even though I ordered the prescription in their pharmacy in person. Avoid this place like the plague if you can. This would be a 0 star review if it could be.

  • Derek Laughlin

Ok. If you are looking to get in/out of a Wallgreens in a hurry, this is not the one. It's not that the staff are slow, they are working there tails off. It's the management. I would say 95% of the time I walk in there is at least 6-8 people waiting in line with one person on the register. That's ridiculous. The wait times need to get fixed. Overall, the staff is friendly and Katie one of the main pharmacists, saved me a bunch of money because my Dr wrote my script really weird. She went out of her way to do so as well. So if anything, that's my silver lining. Thank you Katie.

  • Kate L

This place used to be slow but acceptable. I've gone here regularly for several years. I live very close, but will be switching to another pharmacy that is farther away in search of better service. They completely ignore the drive-through regularly. The past several times I have come here I have had to wait over 20 minutes for someone to talk to me (both in person and in the drive through), sometimes with only one person in line in front of me. I do not know if it is the Walgreens system or this location in particular. I would only come here if it were a late night emergency.

  • K Dedolph

Is it just me or is every Walgreens pharmacies VERY slow!!! All Walgreens (I've been to their pharmacies in multiple states) all have EXTREMELY slow service in their pharmacies. Went to this location & no one helped me in the drive thru for 20 minutes, but a lady who got their after me got service before me. They didn't even card me, which they always do. I must have scared them. I wish there were more Shopko's by me because they never make you wait as bad as all the Walgreens I've been to & they know how to deal with customers.

  • Evan Jarmusch

I've picked up meds here 8 times and it's never been pleasant or quick. I only ever used this Walgreens in the first place due to the close location and since it used to be 24/7. First time I picked up meds here, they forgot one prescription and charged me for it anyway, and then wouldn't admit or correct their mistake. Everytime I'm at the pharmacy, it takes upwards of 20 minutes to get my monthly prescriptions (which are always filled prior), despite being well-staffed. Definitely not going to pick up my meds here anymore.

  • Kevin Kuglin

Walgreens needs to better equip the pharmacy overnight. It is very disheartening to see Ann working the pharmacy with just one other person while there is a large line inside and in the drive thru. She seemed very flustered and I can see that she is overwhelmed. I was not upset about not getting serviced right away, but I was reasonably frustrated that this company allows nice people like her work on all fronts without support. Until this changes, I am no longer going to Walgreens, I am taking my business to CVS.

  • Lacey Wells

Poorly staffed combined with very poor customer service. Never a thank you or any help with any concerns I have. I try to get my prescriptions quicker through drive-thru and it's longer than inside. When I drop off my prescriptions days in advance so I can pick up quick the next day it still takes 30-45 minutes. 75% of the time they are out of stock of my prescriptions. With my work schedule I need a 24 hour pharmacy close to home otherwise I would never set foot in this Walgreens. Such a shame.

  • Maria Nubia Ali

I would like to agree with the others who’s consistent problems and experiences with this pharmacy mirror mine!! Unbelievably worse customer service in the entire state of MN. I mean in person and over the phone. They do not know what they are doing! They will not even attempt to help solve any problems on their end. I will never use this pharmacy. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND ENERGY! Corporate needs to seriously fire everyone, get intelligent workers in there and train those people!

  • Cody Bryan

To be avoided. The inventory is seldom stocked (see picture), the employees are always incredibly overworked and understandably irratible. One of the employees today told me the store manager, Dan, would prefer to under-staff the store, fail to stock shelves, and have customers wait in a very long single line rather than staffing another cashier. If you have to go to Walgreens, you are better off crossing the river and going to the one on Ford Parkway. This place sucks.

  • Sarah Taylor

As I write this, it is going on 65 minutes that I've been on hold--and it's nearly 11pm!!! I just need a simple question answered and nobody appears to be answering the phone at the pharmacy. This is TERRIBLE customer service. I'm fine with being on hold for a reasonable period of time, but over an hour at 10pm?! What the hell is going on? If your pharmacy staff is that busy, you clearly need to hire more people! This is ridiculous.

  • Jacob Gulliver

A truly terrible place to get your medication. Nothing is ever ready when it is supposed to be when prescriptions are ordered. Today was not the first time we were told to "come back in half an hour" and then told it wasn't ready when we came back. Employee blamed it on a computer glitch, that's happened before too. That's the norm here. Pay your employees better and give them the training necessary to avoid this nonsense.

  • Katie Schulz

The pharmacy wait time is crazy. They need to hire more people. I waited in line 15 minutes for a prescription that was on auto-refill and was told it wouldn't be ready for another 30-40 minutes. I came back 45 minutes later, waited (with no one else in line) another 20 minutes until someone at the pharmacy talked to me and told me it would be another 5 minutes. 15 minutes after that I finally got my prescription.

  • Karen Reid

I live close and have used this location for years. Service is bad and lines are long. They have lost rx orders and failed to refill crucial medications for my family. Last straw was again waiting days for asthma medication. Poor communication and a real lack of empathy. I’m trying another location and, if I find out it’s not the location but the company, I’ll have to travel outside neighborhood for a CVS.

  • Joseph Tillman

Went here for a covid booster today. Made an appointment online for a covid booster at 2pm, showed up at 2pm, was waiting for half an hour before I was seen. Discovered when I got home that I'd been given the wrong vaccine....yikes. The flu vaccine isn't going to hurt me or anything but that's just unacceptably bad. Absolutely no trust that I'll actually get what I ask for at this pharmacy in the future.

  • Alec Ericksen

We walked out of the pharmacy after unacceptable wait times and customer service for a scheduled vaccination. Attendant at the pharmacy counter was extremely unprofessional. was wearing what I would call pajamas. We had an appointment for a vacancies and was told to wait as we watched 3 people go in front of us. we had our 1 year old with us.. I am positive we were forgotten about by the attendant.

  • Alena Stewart

The pharmacy is woefully understaffed. I consistently got contradictory information when trying to fill/refill a prescription for my son. Every time I go in, the store is basically empty and the pharmacy is slammed. After my sick son had to wait overnight for a refill we had been told by the Walgreens system would be ready that day, we will be going to a different pharmacy.

  • Aaron Pyles

Absolutely horrific. I've given them multiple chances and an exceptional amount of grace due to COVID and the understanding of staffing challenges. There is no leadership here and I've have repeated experiences of getting a voicemail of "prescriptions ready" and subsequently showing up with it not being ready. This place is horrible. Go somewhere else.

  • Noah Schneider

I've been going to Walgreens for years and this is by far the worst one. I frequently wait 30-60 min on hold, the staff is short with you, and there is always a line of at least 5 people. I know it's not the staff fault, but management seriously needs to hire more people. However, I'll be switching to Cub Pharmacy because this place is intolerable.

  • Winona Vetsch

Want to wait 2 hours for a prescription to be filled while you wait next to someone who is in for a covid test (and not wearing a mask)? This is the location for you! I thought the pharmacist I dealt with Amal had terrible customer service skills just to add to the fun. Thanks for telling me to come back in a few days for antibiotics.

  • Donna Harrison

Three registers at the pharmacy but I have never seen more than one manned at a time and always a long line. It is at a pharmacy where you don't want to wait a long time. Two perscriptions sent it. Waited for a call on the second which was never sent. Came in to find the first restocked. Have been here waiting for one hour.

  • Amanda Moen

Pharmacy is a mess. You'll be waiting for hours and might have to come back next day to get medication. Dana is the shining star of this place. Unfortunately, there's an employee there named Alex that is so rude and unkind that I would suggest going elsewhere due to her horrible attitude and aggressive nature.

  • Tim Morrell

I have used this Walgreens for over 10 years and it has steadily provided poorer service. Reduced hours, reduced staff, and reduced support from their pharmacy. After this last issue filling trying to fill a prescription I will be not use Walgreens in the future. There is a cub right across the street anyway.

  • Dan McGrath

It seems like every time I visit, the beverage cooler is in deplorable condition. Half-empty, all popular (staple) products unstocked, like an apocalyptic run on provisions has just occurred. I stopped in for a bottle of ordinary Coca-Cola. No Coke to buy. Coke! Pharmacy wait-times are generally obscene.

  • Nicole Steil

The employees are friendly and this review reflects Walgreens policy as a whole. This has got to be one of the busiest Walgreens' in the metro area-why then do they not staff this store appropriately so employees aren't stressed and customers can actually pick up their prescriptions in a timely fashion?

  • Lori Green

Long long line at checkout with 1 cashier on a register and 3 (not kidding) of the employees working on the photos, My suggestion... quit taking photo orders until you get caught up and help the people in line!!!!! This was not a one time experience, Worst Walgreens in the United States

  • Lucas R

no longer a 24 hour store, and don’t expect them to open on time. along with covid vaccines, they should offer free tetanus shots for those who step on all the used needles laying around the property. would never recommend this location even to my worst enemy.

  • Maddie Segovia

Never have enough medication to fill prescriptions and never call to let you know. Requested a refill for 90 pills a week ago and they gave me 5 pills today. Super rude employees as well. Closest Walgreens to our house but will avoid going here in the future.

  • Joe LaCoursiere

35 minutes in the drive-thru to get to the window to wait another 10 minutes for them to fill a prescription that they called and said was ready to be picked up. Customer service? Rude people working in the pharmacy. Tear it down and put in a CVS .

  • Skroller Psybreaks (djskroller)

Is it even 24 Hours anymore? The sign on the building says so, but it's not. Last time I went there it was randomly closed a couple hours early due to their computers being down. I only needed to use the ATM but couldn't go in the store.

  • Christina B

I have been using this pharmacy for over a year now. I have experienced nothing but problems. I have never experienced so many issues with a pharmacy. I have never had any issues using Walgreens until now. Don’t do it!

  • Makiah rae

the white pharmacy lady is beyond rude and i will not be spending any of my hard earned money here anymore. she snapped on me and my mother from giving us false information 0/5 star’s !! horrible service.

  • Nevaeh Miller

If I could give 0 stars I would. This Walgreens pharmacy is rude and discriminatory. The guy Robert that works in don’t know how to do his job and is discriminatory towards people. He needs to be fired!!!

  • Jasmine Jara

The place is mostly organized. The price of many products is more than the quality of the object. There is usually no one to help you around when you are confused or uncertain about something

  • Lucia Webb

The tech at the pharmacy window is always going down, but the people who work there somehow are still so friendly and helpful! Much appreciated.

  • Melissa Manchineel

Used to stop in here more, but because everything is locked up now, you have to have someone unlock every item you want to buy. It’s a pain.

  • Dale Marinenko

If you say your open until 10 then be open until 10! Not the door is closed and your manually letting people out at 9:52.

  • Hussein Abdi

The worst employee ever. Walgreen need to hire better employees her.
