As a parent of 8 years at the school, It has been a whirlwind of changes, however, my family have always felt respected and able to openly communicate. Every school has positives and negatives. VRPS has had it far share, yet I am confident my children lives have been enriched. Here is what I love about the school: - Display of compassion, empathy and individualised learning. Demonstrated and adapted very differently for my two children within their primary school journey. - One of the many changes was to offer a holistic approach well-being, traditional education and life skills delivered through a great resource of programming. My kids have opportunity to learn traditionally in the classroom and within the natural environment whether that’s through learning about basics of horticulture, peer group activities or classroom setting. - The classroom spaces seems to be a great learning environment and easily adaptable for traditional education and/ or modern relaxed, yet structured approach. - The positive behaviour strategies and programming is hands down a wonderful achievement. It teaches my kids about their own behaviours and builds emotional intelligence. Strategies that workplaces with adults pay for as “professional development”. To have the foundations taught at young age regularly shapes for a positive culture and future. - Pet therapy: offers kids with fears the opportunity to reduce them, kids who are not fortunate enough to have a pet have exposure and benefit. - The last 5 years, specifically has generated a very positive cultural shift. This evident with the great sense of pride and community.

My child has been attending Victoria Road Primary School for 6 years now and we have been absolutely delighted with their progress both as a student and a member of the school community. The whole staff at VRPS go above and beyond for the kids and are always kind, approachable, receptive and prompt when we have needed to contact them. We always feel listened to and a genuine part of the community. Communication is key, and we always feel connected to the school through correspondence and notifications in the parent portal. My child feels supported and safe and has felt that way since our initial tour all those years ago. There are so many wonderful programs and opportunities given to the kids and I feel it really enriches their school experience. New building works and renovations have also added so many possibilities for the school and its been really exciting to see. I highly recommend Victoria Road, its a lovely school to be a part of. Thank you VRPS.

Our kids love the friends they've made and their teachers. There needs to be a lot more work on communication with parents. I love the idea of the online portal when it works and is a positive experience for parents. Unfortunately, not everyone has time to spare to jump online and check for notifications every hour of every day. The uniform is one of the things that really helps LWPS stand out from other local schools, so it is a real pity that it will be changing to blue like so many other schools in the area. The PBS program is fantastic and has really helped our boys to show empathy and support for fellow school members as well as give them confidence to discuss their own feelings and concerns in a safe space.

Our family has been part of the community at Victoria Road Primary School for 5 years now and we absolutely love it. The staff are amazing and go to such great lengths for the kids. In our time there we have witnessed so much wonderful change happening both in the curriculum and in the school facilities. Learning spaces are bright and open and the kids have access to so many different ways to learn through specialist subjects and areas of interest. I've found the teachers to be supportive and more than willing to work with us to help our child. I highly recommend Victoria Road Primary School.

Just over a year at the school now, and I’m yet to meet a teacher or member of the staff who don’t always great me with a welcoming smile & a friendly chat. We moved to the area in the middle of a lockdown where a school tour was not an option. After speaking to the office, asking a billion questions. ( almost ) We found the Principal and Assistant Principal to be very helpful. So, we took the chance... and boy am I glad we did! We have noticed many academic improvements and enjoy the size of the school. Here you are known by name, not a number. Bravo VRPS ‍

Victoria Road Primary School recently joined us for a school camp at Roses Gap and were a pleasure to work with. The staff were amazing and so well organised from start to finish. The students were friendly, had amazing manners, and were confident to challenge themselves on the activities with great peer support. The group also showed great resilience when some adverse weather impacted the camp during the week. Thanks to all at VRPS for a great week, and we hope to see your school back at Roses Gap in the future.

Amazingly caring staff and respectful, happy students! I'v been facilitating Yoga for students and teachers during remote learning and loved both. A school investing into the well-being of staff and students during these challenging times is rare. I can highly recommend the school for your child. Communication and organisation was outstanding, warm and welcoming.

Amazing school! We have been working with this school for 10 years now - time flies! Teachers are professional, dedicated and caring. They work evenings and weekends to make things happen for their students. Students are respectful and represent their school well. It's a pleasure to work with Victoria Roads Primary School.

It’s a utterly horrible school, the bullying was out of control the last time I was there and, if the teachers don’t see potential with you, they honestly won’t even try, don’t make your kids suffer going to that school, let them learn in an healthy loving environment.

Have been working with this school for 4 years, the staff are respectful and are a pleasure to work with. The children are resilient, persistent and respectful. I look forward to working more with this school in the future.

We moved to VRPS last year and so far VRPS has exceeded expectations. Teachers are super friendly, kind, supportive, and genuinely care about our child's progress and wellbeing. Great community vibe, so happy we moved :)

No school is perfect. VRPS provides quality learning environment, very supportive of students, children are happy to attend and I've never had a refusal to go yet in the 6 years involved in the school.

  • Amanda Johnston

Happy, friendly little neat and tidy school. Excellent philosophy from the Principal down. No bullying, happy playground.
