Contrary to many of the reviews here, we thoroughly enjoyed the food at Ushna. The butter chicken and chicken biriyani were both great, and the views and ambience were lovely. However the food was overshadowed by the lackluster service - our waiter was particularly slow and inattentive, compared with waiters in other restaurants we have been to in Dubai this week. Maybe the waiters are overstretched as there didn’t seem to be anyone available when needed on the balcony area. We had to wait and then ask multiple times to first place the order, then ask for popadoms and lastly ask for the bill - making us feel disregarded by the waiter. We waited over ten minutes just to pay and leave. He was also quite rude, trying to take a dish away which still had food in. On a separate note, the toilets in the restaurant were very small and quite dirty when we visited. Such a shame really, as if the service was better we would probably have returned.

I went here to try a desi iftar along with my colleague. They gave us a a fantastic ramadan set menu which had some great options. After starters we went to pray and then were served a frivolous main meal. We tried Biryani, lamb chopsticks, butter chicken and some awesome naan flavours. The staff kept on ensuring if we needed anything, which was very sweet of them. The ambience of this place is wholesome and has good vibes. Will definitely come again.

I was torn between giving it 3 or 4 stars. To be honest, the food quality was superb, so was the service. However, the price seemed too high for the set up. That is, the restaurant is moderately decorated without any lavish set up. Also, due to its size, sounds from the kitchen were too loud and effected the dining experience. Another negative was their choice of music, which did not have anything in common with the restaurant theme. At the end, I have to be honest, the food trumped all the negatives and pushed me to better rate them

I had lunch with my friends at Ushna. It's located in Souk Madinat, which is a very touristy place and I believe their food and price are geared towards accommodating the tourists. They use a lot of cream and less spices, and we were not very impressed by the quality of the food we ordered. If you want more authentic Indian dishes, Ushna is not the place to go. But the ambiance is much nicer than many other Indian restaurants that I've been to, and the service was friendly.

I had a wonderful experience at this upscale Indian restaurant. I'm grateful that I chose to bring along our friend's brother who was visiting Dubai. The food was incredibly delicious, and the restaurant's interior had an impressive aesthetic. The staff who served us were exceptional individuals. Moreover, Madinat is a fantastic location for visitors. Our friends thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and we had an amazing lunch there.

This was a really good restaurant, probably one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to in the world. Some cool and new options were a pleasant surprise. And above all, the service duality was top notch! I didn't get the waitress's name, but the waiter was Nithin - and both were phenomenal, very patient and polite helping us understand their different menu items. Food was served fast, they and the owner all came to check a few times how the food was, they made jokes with our kids, and we felt really cozy and comfortable.

Amazing food, and Good outside seating for a nice weather in Jan, kids loved the Butter Chicken with Chur Chur Naan, Must Try . Mr. Bilal was very helpful in food selection.

We had Vegeterian Food. To begin with, Smoked Tomato Chai, then as part of Main course - Dal Makhni, Paneer Lababdar, Sabzi Hyderabad Biryani and Roti. Hyderabadi Biryani was nice and other items were okie dokie. Service was good. Due to summer, we got a table inside the Restaurant and the ambiance was nice.

Nothing “Dubai Swish” about this place BUT the food is really good and the service even better. Mina was superb. The dishes pack a punch on flavour and all our party commented on this. The rice was a bit of an after thought but hey, I will forgive them . A few “scoops” at the Belgium beer cafe then next door to Ushna for some great food equals a top night. Try it and prove me wrong, I dare you

Had a great lunch here! Appetizers with 3 amazing pickle dips, followed by a perfect mix of salad and samosas. The cocktails are special too, and the aestethic of the place will make for an overall great experience!

Its how Indian restaurants are in Dubai, in the beginning there food is amazing and slowly with time the taste just disappears, service was very slow and expensive for no reason. Still nice outdoor seatings with burj al arab as view is the only best thing.

I had the worst experience at ushna this week. The food made me and my family very sick . I experienced extremely bad headache , stomach issues and I was sick for a good 24 hours. Extremely disappointing

Linda gave directionsfor us in Korean because we are Korean. She was so kind and professional. We were very satisfied with the food and the butter chicken curry. And it was tender and tasty. All of the clerks' excellent service and perfect food made my family want to visit again
