This is a church and they’re supposed to help the community. Someone named elder Terry reached out asked me for paperwork to help me with my rent then turned around and lied and played in my face saying they can’t help me all because I’m waiting for my boss to give me a start date on my new job because she’s sick. After he asked me that if they help me with January rent will I need help with February and I told them no. These people assisted me last year with $300 towards my rent and that’s why I called them back again because sometimes people just fall on hard times. Whoever that lady was was extremely kind and made an exception for me which saved me from eviction. Now Terry is a liar and a fraud. So is the rest of the “committee” that claims they help the community when they don’t. Terry just tried to tell me that he suggests I start a job and get paid then reach back out to them if I need help but that makes no sense when I would literally have income and would be able to pay my own rent. He is full of it!!!
I would highly recommend this church. My job brought me out to Seattle for a few months last summer. I came out here not knowing anyone and felt very welcomed. They also followed social distancing protocols during COVID, which really impressed me. For young adults, I would definitely recommend their young adults ministry. As I mentioned, I was only in Seattle for a short time, but I was very happy to find an active young adults group in the Protestant tradition. The members are all very welcoming and the group does a lot of social events, service projects, and attending church together. It is a great way to network to find Christian friends in the Seattle area. If you are reading this and are a young adult on the fence about going to church… go join them!! You won’t regret it!
Some guy who works or goes here ran out to us when we were in the parking lot they own up against our building which was mostly empty. Proceeded to lecture us about our registration without even saying who he was. Then threatened to tow us. There is no parking available in our building and this church has multiple lots that are always empty. Why take up so much space that residents need badly??Super creepy and weird of them to be watching and waiting at their windows to come out and yell at strangers about their registration as if it’s their business.
This church has three parking lots in the university district, stuck in spots where residential parking is sorely needed. They don't give church members any incentives to use public transportation. Instead they just sit on lots that are often near empty while people who actually live in the area struggle to stay on top of 2 hour parking limits streetside. Otherwise, nice religious ppl.
I followed your evening service. I was greatly impressed by the fine message and the beautiful music. I do miss the Organ musiic. I do attend a fine Church but all the playing is done by guitars. Years ago I attended for many years Hollywood Presbyterian Church with Dr Ogilvie. Thank you again. Sandra Eddy
I love this place. They offer a lot of classes and opportunities to get to know each other and serve our communities. Everyone is nice here. It also has a parking lot which is a good plus considering the u-district is so hard to find a parking spot.
I had a choir concert here, and the acoustics are very good. The inside of the church is beautiful and spacious. I took a star off because the entrance is hard to find, and there was this weird mirror and door collection thing off to the side.
At first I felt as if I and Barney were strangers in a strange land. Gradually though, as people tried to approach Barney to greet and pet him, as well started introducing myself to the congregation and it wasn't. a strange at all.
UPC is one of a a few churches in the area who do sacred worship music well. The sermons are solid and the church body strives to reflect Christ. You will this church involved in the community as well.
Very thankful for a timely message to move forward with a New Years Covenant instead of a New Years resolution. One focused on God which will last vs. one focused on yourself which won't.
Change Agent - The stewardship of this church is phenomenal. I personally saw an entire Greek System changed by the outreach of the college program. Greek 1995-1999 @ the INN
Everyone was down to earth, not pushy, very kind and helpful and eager to help,I felt at home instead of an ant(a number, or worse...a bother) Thank you! God bless.
This was a very beautiful church, however I felt I could easily get lost in it. The pastor was a terrific speaker, but parking was horrendous.
I've been attending here for 30 years so I'll admit bias, but this has been a great place to worship Jesus Christ for me and my family.
Literally the bestest church EVER!!!! I love it soooo much parking is wonderful HIGHLY recommend going GOD IS AMAZING AMEN!!!!
A wonderful inclusive church. So many different groups to be invited into. It makes this large church seem small and intimate.
Good service and great place for kids. Sermon was good and the sanctuary is gorgeous. Parking is a little difficult
A beautiful church family, but not for those who affirm the LGBTQ community. We left due to this in 2020.
Wonderful church. Music in the first service is beautiful and worshipful.
Excellent easter event hosted by the church!
