Small park, just south of Safeway (currently open from 6am-10pm), with two(2) ramadas, a basketball court and kid play area-- next to a remedial school (Genesis). Only open from 7:30am-7:30pm. Be sure to use the restroom before you get there and bring plenty of water with you; as there are no restrooms and the drinking fountains do not work that well. The park also doesn't offer any electrical outlets or grills. The shopping complex does offer a Subway (currently closed for remodeling), and an Einstein's Bagel (closed at 2pm). Along with a Cricket Wireless, a BofA bank (no tellers for quite sometime now, due to Covid-- I would guess), a UPS store and a dental place. When the park closes, there is a 3rd party security company that takes on the task of keeping anyone stopping in, overly well informed, that they are not welcomed till the morning. Not many trees for shade and the kid play area is sparsely covered-- be careful to check that the equipment is not to hot for the little one(s). McDonald's is just down the street, east of the park. Unfortunately, they do not offer a playplace nor do they have any charging stations to recharge your devices.
It had a lot of trees you could sit under for shade a little playground which little kids would probably enjoy and they also had a basketball court. Unfortunately at the moment I went there, there were a lot of homeless people passed out in the grass and sitting at the tables taking up the whole space. Although I feel very sad about the homeless I would be afraid to take my children there at that time considering I believe a lot of them were under the influence of substances. I will say that this is not always the case.
It's ok for a park with no bathroom. My friend and I layed down for awhile together on the lawn with our blanket of course. We are not homeless. I live in a hotel there are no guest allowed and he lives in an apt. Where there are no guest allowed int the 20th due to COVID-19. so we met up and hung out for a bit. I went with him back home. To drop him and his groceries off. And I'm headed back to my room.
I recently visited Townsend Park, and it was a refreshing experience. The park was spotlessly clean, which made the ambiance inviting. The beautiful greenery and well-maintained paths created a serene setting. It was the perfect place for a picnic with my family. We enjoyed the day, surrounded by nature's beauty. Highly recommended for a pleasant outing!
On Sunday morning at 9am there's a brief church service while breakfast is served. I like it there are doing a great service to the community and spreading the word of God. It's awesome.
it's across the street from McDowell marketplace. I go there on occasion. it's very small and nice place for children is a playground and a picnic area to set and rest if you need to.
Great structures and green grass! Some equipment for young children but mainly geared toward older children. A few homeless people hanging out there.
Another fine example of the Phoenix Parks offered for our convenience to just relax or entertain our family for which I found clean and sanitary
Park was relatively clean as far as Arizona parks go. Water at the water fountain is very hot so make sure to bring you're own. No bathrooms.
Legacy Christian Center holds service in the park on Sundays at 9:00 am. Come join us as we feed and have a great time!
Nice, quiet small park with shady spots. We brought our lawn chairs and lunch from McDonald's and had a nice picnic.
Just walked by. They keep it clean. Homeless people like to sleep on the grass. Really small park.
This park is well maintained and the basketball court is also good. I enjoyed here.
Love attending Church in the Park and help feed the homeless there Sunday mornings!
Very good place to take your children to and great place to cook out at.
Nice community property. Next to the school for musically gifted.
