This is the second time I am writing a 1 star review and only the second time I have had telephone contact with this surgery in years. I waited the usual month for my 10 minute telephone appointment to get results (which were all normal so could have simple been told to me by someone other than a doctor where maybe I didn’t have to wait a month). I was on the phone for 2mins 17 secs when the doctor tried to rush me off the phone. I had another very small area of my health to discuss to be told by Dr Hesterman that there were lots of people waiting in the surgery and that I’d have to make another app to discuss it. I was absolutely fuming as I had waited all this time and only taken under 3 mins of the her time. I pay approx £480 NI a month, rarely even use the service and when I do this is the treatment I get. My whole family have experienced the similar mistreatment. My mum was fobbed off re: hip surgery so ended up paying privately for it. My sister was fobbed off about a cough about a year ago, given inhalers to later find out she had stage 4 lymphoma cancer. I am utterly disgusted that people who choose to work in the health care profession are some of the most rude people I have come across. At this surgery they lack complete empathy and rush you past like you do not matter. I completely appreciate the health service is short staffed but that doesn’t mean individuals should be treated like this. This is our health and ultimately our lives. After the phone call I decided to begin registration with a new surgery that’s been recommended. I DO NOT recommend The Village Surgery AT ALL.
I have been in the UK for over 20 years and during this time I was registered with various GP practices. The doctors, receptionists and nurses have never shown the care that people need to receive, especially after disclosing their health issues to them. This changed for me once I had registered with this GP practice. I have visited this practice on numerous occasions since registering and I have always received a very good service from all the members of staff. This practice is the best one I have ever been to. Every time I enter the clinic I am given a genuine smile by the receptionists who check my record and provide me with further instructions. The doctors always go an extra mile for the patients. Today, I visited the clinic after a while and the doctor who was dealing with me was so kind, helpful, understanding and conscientious and once again I have received an excellent service! Many thanks to this doctor and the rest of team. I wish them the best success and lovely patients just like them!
Not used my doctors in over 4 years and I’m disgusted at the organisation and attitude of the receptionists and doctors at The Villagw Surgery in East Barnet. Not only did I have to wait a month for a 5 minute phone call appointment, a further month on no one can give me a straight answer on my MRI scan referral, plus been told after 4 weeks that I was to go to the surgery to collect a form for my bloody tests. Very VERY rude reception staff, dismissive and lacking in absolute empathy and compassion, I’ve never felt so alone and scared for my health. I am looking for recommendations for a new doctors surgery in and around Barnet. Please help!
It was a great surgery when Dr. McElligott was senior partner, but it went downhill since he retired. Now I have to wait 4 weeks for a 5-minute tel appointment, and every doctor I talked to was rushed and cut me off saying "they are very busy and can't talk any longer". The last doctor I told I wasn't feeling well told me to go to a Walk-in centre! They don't care about their patients and they're an absolut disgrace!!! All GP practices should be disbanded and their lazy, complacent doctors made to work in A&E so they learn the meaning of the word "busy"!
I have been a patient at the Village Surgery since I was a teenager. Sadly a combination of apathy and sheer ineptitude, allied with hidiing behind COVID has meant that this is now a basket case of a GP Surgery. And that is a loose definition at that. A simple request to complete a BUPA form sent to them on 12 September has required multiple e-mail chasers and more than 7 phone calls. Christmas songs have hit the airwaves and I am still chasing this form...
After 6 weeks of waiting for the telephone appointment I finally received a call from a GP I originally didn’t book to speak with. The call lasted 3 minutes and 44 seconds, it would be shorter if I didn’t ask a question before so called doctor brush me off without actually discussing my issue. I am looking to change the surgery. For the first time in my life I feel like I actually don’t have a GP. PLEASE DON’T REGISTER IN THIS SURGERY.
If you are lucky enough you will speak to well mannered and empathetic receptionist, so far there is only one like that there. Again if you are lucky enough you will get telephone appointment within a week, all depends who answers the phone. What I’ve been told last week that there is 3 weeks waiting times for literally 5 minutes telephone appointment?! In surgery with four doctors?! What a joke.
I have been trying to make an appointment for two months!!!! The service has been absolutely terrible and the staff were totally useless!!! I don’t normally give reviews but the service has been soo bad and my issue is no closer to being resolved!!!! I’m very worried that it could get worse and this is causing me lots of stress!!!!! I have only given one star because it won’t let me do zero!!!!!
Thanks for wonderful service. My English is not so good, but every time when I call to surgery I have help and support. Ladies on reception are always very helpful and supportive, and try to do everything what is possible to find convenient time for you. Surgery's doctors are very professional and attentive. Thank you for your hard work despite of huge strain.
My daughter had an eye infection I asked them for one prescription which was a rapitadly infection and they did not give me. I had to take my daughter to emergency and stayed in hospital for one week only for the sake of a prescription which apparently she had a bacteria infection in her eye and it could spread to her brain.
An absolutely fantastic practice, if what you're after is GPs guessing at what's wrong with you over the phone because apparently they've decided they don't want to ever go back to work after Covid. A total waste of time you may as well google your symptoms and order meds online.
A big thank you to Dr S Craddock and the team at the surgery for providing me with such an excellent service with my unexpected current health condition. My path to recovery has been excelled by the teams ability, dedication and understanding. I highly recommend this surgery.
The receptionist Kit is exceptionally helpful and she does it with a smile on her face. I saw Dr Craddock for my baby’s 6 week check and she was excellent- extremely kind and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble and she made sure all my health concerns were addressed.
Since moving into Barnet 17 years ago, we have always been happy at this practice. The doctors and practice nurse are totally professional and very good indeed, and the admin team have always been polite, welcoming and helpful.
Terrible surgery. They have 4 doctors and you still have to wait for a month for your PHONE appointment! After a month of waiting I had a call with the doctor that lasted 7 minutes, and even then doctor was rushing!
I have been with this surgery for past 2 years. The staff are really helpful. Doctors are caring and responsible. I am blessed that I had the chance ro register with them. I would like to say THANK YOU to them❤
They refused to visit my baby while having 40 degree temperature. We never manage to get any appointment from them. Staff are not the nicest either. They just want to get rid of you as quickly as possible
Same day telephone appointment is extremely helpful , doctor on the line is super kind and professional , sorted out my heartburn issue on the same day !! I can live again ! big thank you. :)))
I have been a patient at this surgery for nearly 30 years. It is a small practice. Nevertheless, I have always felt that I was heard and my issues dealt with in a prompt and friendly manner.
This is the best GP I have every been registered at the staff are all friendly and very helpful. I disagree with the CQC report as patients me and my family are all very happy,
Family surgery for over 6 decades. Our experience always found all of the staff helpful, polite and efficient. Kit on reception goes above and beyond in our experience.
Very good first impression despite the fact that there is covid 19 pandemic, I felt safe and the staff were professional and polite. Pleasantly surprised!!!!
5 stars for Kit at reception. Kit is very welcoming and professionally friendly. Best receptionist I have experienced at the Surgery!
this surgery is very bad and the behavior of the staff is very rude and they don't have a toilet, would not recommend this to anyone.
The Doctors and the office staff do there very best to help. After 20 years i can say that. The NHS is wonderful we are so lucky ❤
its better than others in the area.waiting times for appointments are far too long.its the same everywhere i think.
Very good service for such a small surgery. Deal immediately with problems and call back when needed.
