Trust Me - Go Elsewhere Sleep in your car, sleep in the street, sleep in a ditch.  But do not  book to sleep here. I was warned by a family member that it was bad.  I didn't listen. Run down, with so many problems. Had the maintenance man to my room 3 times on the first day to fix the shower rail and replace the shower head. It's not particularly clean. The outside grounds are a shambles, and can't be defined as to what any area is for. Booked 2 rooms. Wife and myself in one, daughter in the other. Our room.  Lighting is extremely dim. Some lights don't work either.  Peeling wallpaper. Shower head that was useless and leaking. One socket available in the room area, but two sockets floor height by the door, so situated that they were useless.  Every other socket taken by the light, the phone, the TV. View from the window - dire. Mattress completely wrecked. ADDED BONUS - A pair of underpants drying on the radiator.  So let's take that as a sign as to how much cleaning goes on. Daughter's first room.  Absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke. Daughter's second room. (For one night.) An apartment room. TV didn't have any sound on any channels.  Items broken, trim hanging off work surface. Lamp shade so badly broken and damaged that it shouldn't have been in the room.  Bathroom tiles loose and lifting as you walked on them. Daughter's third room. Acceptable. But still with issues. However, "the staff were really good ".

Terrible state of disrepair.

The building and rooms apart from the main reception and bar area are in a generally low state of repair, although this could be to match the period theme of the building. All was reasonable until I tried to go to sleep, at which point I found out that the toilet, which uses a electric shredder and pump that is quite noisy (which is fine on its own), decides to turn the pump and shredder on hourly like clockwork, ensuring that you are woken up at least once an hour. Following this consistently broken sleep, I then unfortunately slept through my 7:30am alarm, as it turns out the one plug socket in the room didn't work so my phone had died during the night! To its credit, I only overslept by 20 minuets, thanks to the hourly toilet shredding powered alarm, so you can rest in confidence knowing you will never sleep in too much. Following oversleeping I dived in the shower, however the shallow shower tray does not drain well, preventing you from being able to shower for more than 2 minuets without flooding the building. When checking out I informed reception of this, to which the response was 'hopefully we do better next time'. Needless to say there will not be a next time for me and I strongly advise you think twice too. Unless you frequently oversleep and are late, at which point the built in toilet alarm and 2 minute shower limit may be something of value for you. Room 2 - 26/07/2023

Room 16 was very compact having to turn sideways to pass the end of the bed to access the bathroom. The TV worked but there wasn't a consistent signal, I reported this to the male receptionist who attended my room and determined that there was possibly a streaming problem. He disappeared leaving me thinking that he would return, sadly he didn't, this left me to have a very quiet and boring evening in my room. The system was working in a neighbouring room. There was no discussion about changing my room. Was it a streaming problem or a hotel issue? The toilet had what looked like urine in the bowl, if it was cleaning fluid it was a poor choice. As others have said the breakfast was great but on cold plates it got cold very quickly. The young lady / waitress was very polite and helpful. Ironically the heating was on when I arrived with the window open and it remained that way all night.

Booked a double room for a romantic weekend away, the room was full of ants so had to move. All that was left were some twin rooms so had to go to one of them. When checking out, we expected to be offered a discount. We were not offered one, and also were rejected when asking and explaining. Emailed the manager who agreed that 'no discount need be given'. Not good enough for a £170 for 2 nights priced place. Customer service is poor to say the least. Would not go back. Also, the rooms are old and lacking commonly expected comforts. No sockets near the bed and only 1 available anywhere nearby anyway. No wifi easily accessible. Shower was weak and old. Not happy at all. £170 I'll never see again. The Hilton a couple of miles up the road is cheaper...should have gone there but wanted somewhere quieter and old fashioned. Mistake.

Only putting the one star as couldnt put zero in. Had an awful stay last weekend with my mum and sister. Room was out dated, lining paper not even wall paper peeling from the walls. Cupboard all peeling and chipped. Toilet seat was a health hazard. Single bed the springs all gone and needed to be replaced. Bedding wws old, worn and smelly. One duvet was rotten and duvet cover looked like it had been pulled off of someone elses bed pre used, totally unfresh. Hairdryer was awful you could have picked up a better one from a bott fair. Alarm bells should have rung when we had to pay before even seeing the room. Avoid at all costs. Wouldnt go back if it was free. Raised concerns with the manager but she was not interested at all.

OK sized carpark Quick check in, most info given, Room(17) was a good size as was the bathroom. Bed was comfortable enough had a good night sleep but you could hear the traffic outside. Main heaters didn't work, there was two oil radiators in the room Shower was rubbish no pressure and either way to hot or cold !. The plug in the sink wouldn't pop back up so left the water in the sink ! Evening meal consisted of either fish and chips or curry ! Lots of restaurants nearby 5 minutes walk Breakfast not included. Plenty of paths and good running spots nearby . WiFi good. Would I stay again yes but want a different room !

We didn’t get quite what we expected for the money unfortunately. There was a smell generally within the ‘annexe’ where we stayed. Our curtains were grey and mouldy... clearly not cleaned for several months. Bathroom sealant mouldy accompanied by smell from waste pipes. As soon as you entered our room the smell was present. Spiders and cobwebs preset to corridors and within the room . The main dining area was generally good as was breakfast. A disappointment overall which is a shame because if time was spent on attention to detail it could have been a totally different experience. There are so many places right now offering such a lot for your money and @ £100 per night unfortunately Tudor Lidge doesn’t offer that.

For the price, it's a great option - especially for the location - and shouldn't be knocked. Additionally, the building itself is very attractive from the exterior. The rooms themselves are very mediocre, however. Poor lighting and dingy, dated decor made the room feel miserable, a dodgy bathroom door and difficult shower controls made washing a chore. The bed was absolutely fine and there was enough room to walk around, which was nice. Ultimately the hotel is nothing spectacular and needs some renovation work done to it to properly capture a pleasant atmosphere but for its price and convenience it's an absolutely excellent option for a place to stay if you're staying for a few nights in and around Eastcote.

  • Jane Presland

Hotel is definitely on the shabby side but the room and bathroom were clean. We needed to stay locally so it suited our purpose. I would stay again but it's definitely not the Hilton. The bed was comfortable but we did have to ask for tea/coffee supplies to be topped up. This really should be automatically done. We didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on the standard of food. Reception staff were very pleasant, no complaints. Basically it just needs an overhaul as its a beautiful building.

Not great experience. I was supposed to stay tonight but could not stomach going back for the sake of my health and sanity. Room 19 is dated and has a punishment feel to it. All fabric surfaces felt wet to touch and as a result the room and bed smelt and felt musty and mouldy. Bathroom is dated and shabby with poor ventilation and the shower cubicle is not for fatties. I do want to end on a positive, the room was clean. Who every the housekeeper is takes pride in their work. Pay your housekeeper more and don’t loose them, they provide the most value to your business.

Has declined terribly. Booked on experience of 12 years ago when it was an excellent hotel with well kept grounds and buzzing with weddings and business men in the bar. NOT ANYMORE. Restaurant now closed. No atmosphere or people in bar. Grounds neglected and overgrown. Rooms not particularly clean. Months of dust above door and tops of mirrors. Cheap feeling mattress. One pillow case not properly washed (could still see remains of female eye makeup. Strip over bottom of bed needed a good wash and curtains looked shabby. Sadly not the hotel it once was. Needs a good manager to sort!

It was very much value for money for a single traveler! I booked a single room and it was small but I was only there for 3 nights and just sleeping there so it suited perfect. The bed was comfy, and the room was warm. The shower was nice but a bit small. The plumbing was also noisy when you flushed the toilet and it wasn’t very well sound-proofed from outside noise or noise from other rooms. All in all though it was very cheap and suited me for what I needed and I would probably stay here again!

A shame. That's the best way to describe it a shame because they just do not spend money to fix anything, it's a lovely looking place and could be great but needs serious work. They keep selling rooms with a faulty boiler hoping guest don't complain about the cold water, which a lot of them don't but not me. I was upgraded after threatening for a refund, so after an hour they upgraded me to posh suite but broken radiator valves so heating was stuck on. One extreme to the other.

This is a nice friendly no fuss place. The main building itself is a superb 500 year old half-timbered house. My room was in this part of the hotel. However there are also more modern annexes. The room itself was small but comfortable. The bathroom plumbing ws a little quaint, it made odd noises, but was fully functional. Breakfast was in a nice spacious dining room was a good UK standard but coffee was from a vacuum container and you had to ask the kitchen for toast. The staff was very diverse and friendly. I can recommend it.

  • Mark Richardson

Terrible, room, in their 'NEW' annexe! Built in 2003,Not been redecorated since. Room 51 was musty & dirty and not a good experience. Peeling wallpaper, dirty skirting boards, Chipped/marked bedroom units and one of the two single beds you could feel the springs through - Awful. On a plus note, the breakfast was very tasty & plentiful. The receptionist just dismissed our concerns with a 'well I've got your money' type of attitude! We do not recommend this hotel, shame really It could be something really excellent!

  • Lesley Palmer

Supposed to be a three star! The wallpaper was pealing in the bedroom. Everything was tatty. The gardens had just been abandoned to their own devices. Was not just Winter neglect. Could be lovely if properly maintained. Especially as it was very sunny during our stay. It's only saving grace was bathroom although dated was clean, nice white towels and the bedding was also clean. The mattress had seen better days though. The breakfast was quite extensive and enjoyable. Could have been better with hot plates....

  • Kim Morris

This is a friendly, affordable hotel near a line of surprisingly good shops and within walking distance of the tube. The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff were really helpful, especially the blonde woman at reception who was efficient and so accommodating. The only downside for me is that there are no sockets at the bedside table to allow you to charge a phone while catching up on messages but I have found this in very high end hotels too. I would certainly use this hotel again.

  • Andrew Dennett

I booked the executive suite with 2 double beds and on arrival found that the only ‘executive’ they could show me was one with a single double bed but they offered a family room and we didn’t want to make a fuss so we took it. little did we realise that it had cobwebs and dust and dead silverfish in the kitchen draws but live silverfish in the bathroom. the bed I stayed in squeeked more than a mouse at any movement…. family room for sure… if you’re the Addams family.

  • Paul Jaye

The pros: The price is very fair The front desk staff were very friendly. The room comes with biscuits and everything you'd need to make coffee and tea The cons: Room 1 is dilapidated. The double bed mattress is old and no longer supportive. The bathroom had a very musty smell. The room was very cold, and there was no obvious thermostat or heat control. I'd stay again in a pinch, but I wouldn't make it the centrepiece of my vacation.

  • Ben Madgwick

Hotel was okay, wouldn't recommend for more than a night. The rooms don't have AC, which in this heat isn't great, instead we were left with a small fan. The room itself was a decent size however the bathroom definitely needed repairing in places; shower curtain was coming off its rungs, toilet seat broken as well as flusher. Breakfast was good, standard fry up choices with a good selection of fruit and juices as an accompaniment.

  • Daps

It's a 500 year old building at its earliest so don't think everything is going to be plumb level. My room was running down one side so a bit of body vertical alignment was necessary. Rooms clean enough abiet basic. Just under a £100 a night in the run up to Xmas so not bad.

Was there last night. Cheap and cheerful. Left my biker boots in the lobby and a pair of slippers in a grocery bag next to the wing back leather chairs in lobby at bar. Will call in the morning to see if they are still there hopefully! Not sure if they have a lost and found. Breakfast was good too! 5 days later my boots appeared in Manchester from the post by royal mail, life saver! Thank you Tudor hotel. Amazing!!

My partner and I have stayed here a couple of times and each time, we've never had any problems. Grounds are nice, staff are helpful and we like the rustic/old feel to it all. Never had the food there, so we can't comment on that, but overall, great stay for the money!

Too pricey for what is being offered. No option for breakfast or other meals as kitchen closed. Aged rooms, squeaky floor, doors and bed, poor soundproof, small screen TV probably less than 20" useless as too small to watch from bed, sockets placed in very awkward places (if phone chargers need plugging in). The only good thing is the free carpark, but this has limited spaces too

  • J

The mattress was as old as the building and ensured a night's sleep was out of the question. The curtains were filthy. I placed my toothpaste on the shelf on the bathroom and apparently the weight of a toothbrush was too much for it. If you like being uncomfortable all night and listening to traffic, you've found your hotel. Thankfully the breakfast was nicely presented.

  • Breit Ideas

Quiet, clean, basic but we didn't need more. Friendly and helpful receptionist. Good location - just a 10 min walk to tube and free parking. Felt it was okay value for money. We booked 2 days before our stay and everywhere was sold out so they could have hiked the price but didn't.

For location its perfect. I liked the staff and the breakfast area. That said I was really disappointed with the room. Needs a makeover badly. I would also suggest that room one which is over the reception area is not suitable for use. You feel like your in reception. You can hear every word of every conversation. Our sleep was interrupted badly.

  • Paul Dixon

Good sized double room in the annex section behind the main building, clean and tidy, good sized bathroom, could do with power sockets near the beds. Staff with little interaction due to Covid-19 were friendly and helpful. Would stay again, as really good location for Mount Vernon hospital and other transport links.

Previously tapped one star by accident. Go little hotel, not fancy but a great location for getting in and out of London. 15 mins from Wembley Park on train and some nice shops and pubs in Eastcote. Have stayed here many times with no issues. Stay friendly and efficient.

Excellent value place, great base for visiting London, tube 5-10 minutes walk. Breakfast is fairly good, although food, tea and coffee can be on the cool side, cold plates to put it on. It's a minor gripe, but if it was hot you'd really enjoy everything about your stay.

  • billy boy Moldon

Nice place and cheap compared to most places, nice lady on desk. Bathroom could probably do with an update...but that's very minor. Shower was really nice, had a good nights sleep which is the main reason I stayed there. Had nice fish pie in the ascott up the road.
