Walked in and went to the first bartender we saw. I didn't get her name but the Asian girl with dark hair and a ton of make up that was bartending last night needs to be removed. Her attitude and customer service were horrible. We ordered our first drinks with no problem other than the fact that she had an awful attitude. We also put in an order for fries, took our number, and sat at a table across from the bar. While drinking our first drink I didn’t really think about how long the food was taking because it was fairly busy and I understand the food service world however I started to see large groups of people that came in and ordered after us receive their food so when my fiancé went to order our second drink he asked her how much longer on our one order of fries and she told us that it would be another 5 to 7 minutes (aka an excuse for forgetting to put in our food order) and proceeds to give us a second round of which one drink was incorrect. My fiancé then went up to the bar again and asked her if that was the correct drink and she got an attitude and said that he saw her make it so he should know it was correct and refused to remake it. At this point my fiancé and I were frustrated and decided to cancel the food order and close out our tab. I would really hope that this is not a race issue considering I was the only black person that she was serving at the time and also conveniently the only couple being mistreated. Either way the only reason they get one star is for the location, music, and atmosphere. I may give this bar another chance but if she’s behind the bar I will run the opposite direction! May not order food considering their poor sanitation rate that I noticed after ordering food. Should’ve picked the hot guy as my bartender. He and the blonde working seemed to be friendly to ALL of their customers.
Great Food!!! Great Entertainment! BUT, the staff are VERY Non ATTENTIVE (to say the least) I had been there several times before and as usual it took a while to place my order, even when there were only a couple of people at the bar. This particular time, I was greeted and She remembered me from the night before, I said I'll have the same thing I has last night, then she walked away as did the other waitress and all went to the kitchen. There were about 2 other people at the bar. When they left me sitting there I didn't see ANYONE for quite a while 4-5 min. I'll say. Finally a Guy came out of the kitchen and looked at me, (This was the FIRST TIME ANYONE HAD MADE EYE CONTACT WITH ME) I said can I please Place an order? (Now a GOOD 8-9 minutes from when I sat down at the bar). He put my order in the computer. I sat for a good 25 min. and NO ONE IS MAKING EYE CONTACT WITH ME LET ALONE ACKNOWLEDGING I WAS EVEN THERE. I waved my hands to get someones attention and said, Can I please have that To-Go? Finally my order appeared in the window, the waitress pack up my food and tied the bag in a knot. She laid it in front of me and walked away, never making eye contact. Well I sat there with two girls and the Guy all walking around me waiting to pay for my food, I was even waving my credit card in the air.... THEN it Happened... EVERYONE went back into the kitchen. NO ONE AROUND. I REALLY Tried to pay for my food but NO ONE seemed to be interested so, I walked out. The Guy came running after me from across the street and said they were busy and didn't see me. He handed me the ticket and I went back in to Pay. HE HAD NO EXCUSE, NOTHING TO SAY, He realized it was their fault and he couldn't argue with that... Not too sure I want to go back as the SERVICE is VERY VERY POOR.
I worked at this place under the manager, Dustin. Dustin agreed via text that I could work for the weekend and train me. I worked as a server and bartender all night on Friday and Saturday night until 3 am (ALL STAR WEEKEND) They had me scrub the bar and bottles and the dirty kitchen until 3 am each night. When I asked for my tips/pay he told me I was working for free. I tried to dispute with the Dept. of Labor and they said what he did was not right, but legally he was only obligated to pay me minimum wage per hour. The bartender, Gaby, took home all of my tips! She also told me to “charge the drinkers whatever you want to charge them” Throughout this whole weekend I wasn’t even on their books! The kitchen was dirty, had bugs everywhere and I overheard the staff talking about reusing drink glasses. Never will I ever step foot at the local again! They used me for work all weekend as my pay went to the bartender named Gaby. When confronting Dustin the manager, he blocked my cell number.

AN EMPLOYEE STOLE MONEY OFF OF MY CARD. I went to the local on July 12 at about 2:15pm and stayed for a few hours, paid my bill with a card and left. On July 15, I noticed on my bank statement The Local swiped my card for more than what was actually printed on my bill when I signed it. The bartender wrote in a 1 in front of the tip I left, giving themselves more money than I allotted. So I called on July 15 at about 4:30pm and asked to speak to a manager and was hung up on. I called back and no one answered. My bank called the same day as well and the woman who answered wanted to know why the rep. wanted to speak to the manager, what customer it was regarding, etc. We were told to call back the next day at a certain time because the manager would be in, which we did, and were told the manager had just stepped out. Go to another establishment or pay in cash here. Won't be back.
Stopped thru here while on the Trolley Pub celebrating a friend's birthday. We ordered the wings, and they were pretty good. Nice and small just the way we like them. Not those big steroid wings from other places. We went back for lunch a few days later, and we ordered the wings and Nachos this time. Yummy again. You'll have to park in the garage and do a little walking, so make a date out of it and enjoy uptown. Or do what we did when we went back the 2nd time, one person makes the rounds around the block while the other person jumps out and picks up the order.

I ordered 15 wings ahead online. I waited 15 minutes and walked over. Once I got there they “didn’t receive and order.” When she looked at the IPad it was there. I then proceeded to wait 45 minutes on the wings. When I asked what was taking so long I got the excuse “The printer in the kitchen didn’t have paper so they didn’t get the order.” I waited 20 more minutes to only receive 10 wings and was told there was another 5 minutes on my other 5 wings. Never once offered my anything while waiting. Was my first experience with them and don’t really want to go back.
I went on a Tuesday evening during the bar bingo. I thought this will be fun. No no no. Service was horrible n the food was worse. I tried to order nachos which was on the menu. They don't serve nachos, they have tatchos. Ok that sounds interesting. I wanted the beef on it...but they don't have any more beef. This is their taco tuesday special, how do you not have beef. the queso cheese on the tatchos was lumpy n tasted horrible. I couldn't even eat half. I ended up getting very sick that night. Pretty sure they served me old old leftover food.
You know how people say location is key well the local has the perfect location drawing in a mixed crowd and great people. The staff is super friendly and security is professional. Highly recommend checking it out and seeing what bar crawls they are apart of.

Might come to late night drink but the atmosphere isn't really dining conducive. Wouldn't order the pickle chips again, very greasy and not so tasty. Beer was fine, BBQ sliders we're good and waitress was friendly and adequate. Smelled like a bar. Table was sticky like a bar and the music was hopping like I should get up and dance instead of being able to hear my wife across the table. Over all okay. :/ But don't bother with the pickle chips and know it is a boozy bar you're eating at.
Worst place I've ever been to. I paid $25 for my friends and I to get into. We waited over 20 minutes to get a drink and it was so hot and disgusting in there. The bouncer at the door was rude and would not give us our money back even though we paid $25 to walk in and walk out. I cannot believe that you have to pay $25 to buy over priced drinks let alone just stand there for 20 minutes in a hot disgusting environment. The Local should be ashamed of themselves AND give me my money back.
The Local is located right across from the Blumenthal Theater in Uptown Charlotte is a pretty good spot the people are chill and the drinks were pretty good. It's a very diverse crowd which is what we like and everybody came together to have fun and there was no drama. The dj that night was pretty good too, there is no parking so you have to get in where you fit in. So I would recommend trying to get Uptown a little early. They serve food also but we haven't tried any of it.
Fantastic bar to watch the game or just to have a few drinks. Wife and I went there on our night out because the other bar around the corner was full at 7:30. They had several games on and as others have said, Gabby was great. Doesn't hurt that they are a Giants fan bar. We left after a bit to check out a few other places but came back later and we were surprised that they had a DJ and the place was packed. Highly recommend this place.
My husband and I like The Local! The atmosphere is nice for a little nightlife outing. On my last visit I see they have renovated the restrooms which are still coming together, but I see the vision. They look nice! They have good wings and I like fried pickles so I've had those also. I prefer going during the spring or summer to make use of the patio, but they had it nice and warm inside on the cold night that we decided to get out.
The snacks were tasty and good portions The vibe was on point Nice place to chill and unwind and chat with my friend on a night out in town Reasonable prices Go to the bar to order Friendly service ignore the graffiti on the table, didn't realize the profanity in some Can't find the pics with food, but it was pretty decent looking and tasty

Didn't know what to think at first... there is no sign that says seat yourself and no one greeted us. After 5 minutes one of the bartenders came around to where we where sitting and greeted us...... she was nice but brought out dirty menus. She offered us some suggestions since we're first timers. The food was delicious and it didn't take long for our food to come out. I ordered the pulled chicken sandwich with side salad!
I was in there the other night with my friends and we were treated poorly by the staff. There were only five other customers in the bar at this time. All of them seemed pissed off to be working there and messed up our order. The guy checking IDs was very unprofessional to say the least. In my opinion, I also think the place is gross and dirty inside. The bathrooms never have soap or paper towels. Trash all over the floor.
After work celebration, sat for nearly 30 minutes snd realized no one was going to help us. Went in to order drinks and sat and waited. And waited…. We were all hungry so we went back in to ask for a server. No one ever came. We left and will never return. Reviews said food was great but wouldn’t know cuz we left without eating due to the fact that we sat for over an hour and NEVER EVER SAW A SERVER !?!?!
Love PNC Pavilion for concert venues! This is one of my favorite spots for concerts, and they usually have amazing artist. First time was Keith Urban, then recently I saw Halsey, Backstreetboys and Shania Twain a week ago! Looking forward to Matchbox 20 next and 3 Doors Down! Only thing is—- food! Soo expensive and not really a lot of options. But that’s just me. People seems to enjoy rather trash food.
The Local offers a hometown bar feel in the heart of the city. I liked the high top tables and it was nice out when we visited so they had the garage doors open. We were here on a Friday afternoon so it wasn't busy, but it was a little bit of a struggle to get our drink orders. There were only two bar tenders and they stayed behind the bar. We did not get food and continued our walk through downtown.
Showed up for a late lunch. They had a cheap taco deal for a Tuesday which was great, $2. (Recommend the buffalo shrimp). The Gamecock was one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. We sat at the bar and the bartender was running the entire restaurant on her own, so that being considered, the service was good. She even went so far to suggest a few places for us to go for nightlife.
Could not have asked for a better place to stumble upon. Staff were friendly and super accommodating. We were stranded, due to airport fails and the staff allowed us to settle in and even stay after close to allow our ride to arrive. We are most grateful for the hospitality. Thanks again. We will definitely return when in the area.

Came to Charlotte with some family from Croatia and they demanded a passport for identification and not a government ID even though we were in there the weekend before. They stressed that the "whole block" wouldn't let us in...well we got into every bar except this one. Who tf carries their passport to the bar in a foreign country? LOL just FYI if your visiting.
This hole in the wall dive bar (the good kind) is an oasis in an otherwise franchise-heavy downtown Charlotte. Waitress was genuinely friendly and chatty. Dart boards and an array of mules made a memorable, welcome escape from a day of Christmas markets. Their bar food was good enough to convince my Southern Belle tour guide to forget dinner elsewhere.
Very rude service with a hint of discrimination, there’s plenty of other bars to patronize in this area you can easily skip this one. I wish I could give zero stars; rude service, low atmosphere, lame bartenders and weak security. Honesty just go to any other bar and I do NOT recommend going here after a game, these people do NOT want your business.
This place is super cool! Big communal tables inside and good seating outside. Tons of TV's for sports, probably the best place around. Only reason for 4 stars is the table clearing service was a bit slow so food and drinks piled up. But the bartenders were busy so I get it and it really wasn't a big deal. We definitely enjoyed our visit!
A friend and i went here as part of margarita bar crawl. we got the drink fine, That is ridiculous, the bartender did give us a number for a food. so it took them 45 min to get the food out. after asking 3 time about it.

I went to see my friend while she was training to be a bartender here. I tipped her very well and so did all of our friends. She made an agreement with the Manager Dustin to get her tips for the night which is why I tipped well for her. At the end of the night she didn’t not receive any money even though she worked a lot of people.
First time trying and hands down the tacos and side of Mac are great! I picked three tacos 1. Spicy buffalo, 2. Chicken and 3. Steak. My three selections were the the bomb with the exception that I must Warn the buffalo shrimp is moderately spicy. If you want takeout they also partner with GrubHub for delivery.
Went in and automatically had a great time. Mark and Gabby were behind the bar, and they created such a fun environment. They ask if you have a mask when you walk in and that’s great, understanding COVID. Personal opinion is to not go out if you are worried about it. Great dive bar, just what I was looking for
Loved it all, great atmosphere, bartender/service, food. Just didn't like tripping over all the dogs inside. Still would definitely go back.

Out of all the places my wife and I visited in Charlotte, this was our favorite stop. Fun staff, friendly local people, and great food. $2 tacos on Tuesday (which is a crazy good deal in a major metropolitan area) that were absolutely delicious. Do yourself a favor and swing by!
The Local is another one of the tiny clusters of bars along Tryon Street in Uptown Charlotte that have a massive crowd. Well into the late hours of the night you can see crowds pouring out of these bars. I met a staff member from this bar and she was a wonderful human being.
Really cool place. We stopped by before going to a show at the spectrum center. It is bar service so you have to go to the bar to order. Loved it just wished the tables were wiped off.

I'm visiting from out of town. Google mistakenly lists this place as a brewery, which is what I was expecting. The low rating here is entirely about not meeting that expectation; the beer selection is mediocre and no local options, even.
Stopped in here last Sunday (9/10) while in town and ended up staying through the end of the early NFL games. It was an amazing environment that had a group of "locals" but the staff did an awesome job of making everyone feel welcome.

I took clients here today on a business lunch and both the food and service were literally atrocious. I was embarrassed. They claimed to be out of onions, peppers, mushrooms, bacon, and eggs. I miss the good old Phil’s Deli days!

Has the best Taco Tuesday in town. I almost always have meat of some sort in my tacos but this place has amazing veggie tacos too. Update: they no longer serve veggie tacos so the buffalo shrimp tacos are my new favorite.
This place was awesome! It was super packed since it was a Saturday night but the service was still quick and friendly. Great place to people watch. I only wish they had darts or something to do while hanging out there.
This bar was lit!!! Security was tight coming from fellow a Security guy!!! Food was awesome (had the black bean burger). DJ played bangers all night on sat night! And the Bartender I had was fantastic...will be back!!
We were were visiting from out of state and just looking to grab a drink and the bartender gave off vibes like she just wanted to go home. And she charged us for a drink we never had. I wouldn't recommend this spot.
I love this establishment. Great food, atmosphere and staff. I've been there a number of times when the bar is packed and I still am able to get a drink pretty quickly compared to every other busy bar in Charlotte.

Great little spot with patio seating, damn good food and they have Miller High Life - opted for the spaghetti sandwich which they should toast and butter and garlic powder the bun to take this to next level
Spent 30 dollars to get in, and I literally watched the security with dreads let so many people in without paying anything lol so its who u choose to charge that's real nice .... I guess it's who u know huh
Long line only to find that it was $10 per person AND a $10 “cash app surcharge” to enter - it’s literally free to use cash app (with debit/bank account not credit). There is no reason for this.
We were walking past this bar and the music drew us in! The DJ was great. Drinks were on point and it was good to see a mixture of people having a great time. Would definitely go there again.
Looking for a place to eat and rink after the Panthers game? Hit up "The Local". Everything was so good (minus the fries) . Recommend definitely. The spaghetti sandwich will change your life.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! The staff is super nice, great personalities, quick with the drinks, and the food is GREAT! Definitely a great friendly environment to hang out with friends on the weekend!

Casual pub vibes- the bartenders were really nice. Drinks were typical, but the apps were great! We got pretty much all the apps with cheese on them and loved them. Love a good mozz stick.
Another hidden gem in uptown Charlotte. Great place for lunch that is surprisingly inexpensive ($5 daily specials and $8-12 regular meals). Love the old pub atmosphere and high-top tables.

Cold beer and hot babes. The girls here are straight up supermodels. The food is just a bonus. If there was a president of this fine establishment, it would be Babe-raham Lincoln.

Great spontaneous visit with a semi-large group. Good food. The wise guy mac and cheese was bomb and so were the fried pickles.
