Disappointing Experience at The Gutter, Williamsburg Brooklyn I recently visited The Gutter in Williamsburg Brooklyn, hoping for a fun evening of bowling with friends / staff. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the experience. From the moment we arrived, we were met with a series of issues that marred our evening. The bartender was physically attractive, but a bit rude. Her unpleasant attitude made us feel unwelcomed. It was evident that she had no interest in providing good customer service, as she paid little attention to our needs and seemed more focused on her own disinterested demeanor. To make matters worse, Lane 6 repeatedly gave us trouble with the pins. It seemed as though the pins were malfunctioning or misaligned, resulting in frustrating disruptions to our game. We had to call for assistance multiple times, which further interrupted the flow of our game and added to our overall dissatisfaction. The combination of an unresponsive bartender and faulty lane equipment significantly hindered our experience at The Gutter. It is disheartening when a supposedly enjoyable activity turns into an ordeal due to poor service and technical problems. Given the multitude of bowling alleys in the area, I would strongly recommend considering alternative options before choosing The Gutter. A night out should be a time for relaxation and enjoyment, but my visit to this establishment left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied.

I work in customer service, and I can honestly say that I've never dealt with a more rude and blatantly disgusting staff. I originally emailed this business to book a party for a birthday, which on the website, allows for parties renting two or more lanes for 2 hours, to do so... After not receiving an email back, I called yesterday to see if I could speak with a manager or someone in reservations, the man put me "on hold" but just put the phone down, and clearly turned to whatever male manager was working and informed him of what I was requesting. I could hear them both chatting and could clearly hear the manager laughing and say "tell him I haven't checked all my emails and I'll get back to him". Today I called to simply ask if I could book the reservation over the phone. The woman who answered would not even listen to me, just kept saying "no we don't do reservations over the phone" Ok well I emailed and no one is getting back to me "'I'm sorry I can't help you" well is there someone who can? "no sorry I can't help you" continuously cutting me off and wouldn't even listen to me at all. Completely unhelpful, extremely rude... This place is a joke I get the "grungy" vibe of it all, but it doesn't meant the staff have to be trash...
I went here last night for some bowling and beers. The beer selection is good and priced moderately. A pitcher of Mother's Milk is $21, which isn't bad for a quality beer. The space is very cool in the bar room as well as the back bowling area. There was a trivia event going on in the bar room which seemed cool. The only negative I have to mention is the seemingly high price of bowling. For three people to play three games it was $72. I am not sure what bowling prices usually are, but the actual bowling facilities are in serious disrepair. Now I couldn't care less about that, except it seemed odd to have a high price tag with such shoddy equipment. The balls, the lanes, the things that shoot the bowling balls back to you, the computers, are all as bad as you could imagine. Most of the balls look like they were found in a dumpster. Anyway, overall a good experience, I would just like the price tag for bowling to be lower. As I said I am not sure what bowling costs, so if the price I mentioned above is appropriate, then this place has no downsides. Either way I will go back, maybe just for trivia though.
First time here, celebrating a friend's birthday. There is an extensive beer selection but since I don't drink beer, the bartender stated confidently he has a full bar which I saw when I finally looked up from the beer menu. Yes, you can bring your own food. We were here mainly to celebrate & bowl. The rum & coke I had were in opinion not that strong until it hit me 20 minutes later. We talked, laughed, and munched on popcorn. The bathrooms are unisex, don't wear expensive shoes & clothing here, it's a dive bar and the bathroom tells that tale. If you want to bowl you have to get a numbered ticket, we had 66 and when looked up after an hour and half it was only 59, we slowly realized we may not get to bowl this night. So we drank some more then plotted our escape to Jimmy's Diner a few blocks away to get some grub. Two of my friend's tried to find a later number but with no luck, when we left the digital number display read 61. Meh!!
Service was horrible and bathroom is disgusting, some of the lanes/screens are broken. I came with a small group for a team event and honestly the vibe isn’t bad because I’m down for a divey kind of scene. It’s the bartender who was giving us a really wierd vibe. She kept reusing our old glassware which I though was odd. She was very rude and made it felt like an inconvenience to be serving drinks. We tried to close our tab but had to wait while she finished her McDonald’s fries in the corner. I’m a bartender at a dive bar myself and this kind of service is just embarrassing for the industry. On top of that, one of the two lanes we reserved was broken the whole time and continuously needed to be reset so all the scores and orders were wrong in case anybody wanted to actually bowl a game. It’s a shame we spent our money here.

Came here on a date and I felt like the place itself was fine and a fair price to play. I’ve heard good things about the live music and we did get to catch a bit of decent comedy happening in the back. It’s retro/old school (so obviously it’s not going to be a fancy screen and set-up), and I feel like the bathroom area was better than a lot of bars. Maybe there’s a lot of regulars because I felt a lot of eyes when I first walked in. This might sound silly to some, but here’s why I’m writing this and put two stars. A staff member bumped into me hard and I nearly fell over. No one else was in the way and I hadn’t interacted with that staff-member. It shocked me and just felt random and nasty to do that to a patron. I looked up expecting some sort of apology or thinking it was an accident but she didn’t even look back. So rude. Definitely not coming back.

This place is beyond aweful. AVOID AT ALL COST... I bought tickets for a charity comedy event and the doorman was super rude bc I had an expired ID. fine. Its policy for them to have a manager check when the ID is expired. I get it, But the doorman was so rude he yelled at me and told me to move. It was also below freezing.... Im over a decade over drinking age and was trying to have a nice chill, paid for, comedy night. The female manager came out and asked me for something with my name AND AGE... all i said to her was, no,i have a small purse with 3 or 4 credit cards with my name but not age... she started getting super angry at me and when i asked her if she had something in her purse with her age on it, she lost it!!! Kicked us out- lost money on the show. Will never go back.
What a place to have some fun with a big group of friends! The lanes are old and the balls have seen better days but the old school vibe of this place and the electric atmosphere of 8 lanes of wild drunk friends all having a blast is amazing. The scoring computers are extremely old and difficult to setup and work. The pins also seem to fall randomly during the reset process, screwing up the game but everyone is having such a great time it's rarely a big deal. The bar side of this place is also large and open able to accommodate some pretty big crowds.. I'd hope this place never changes because compared to the mega bowling alleys this is a hidden gem in Brooklyn I plan on having a launch party or birthday bash at sometime down the road.
My partner and I used The Gutter for an event the night before our wedding in June. We had about 50 family and friends come for pizza and bowling. Working with The Gutter was incredibly easy. Joanna was responsive to emails, gave us an entire area to set up food (and for some older people to chill), and helped make sure guests had shoes and were getting up to bowl. The bar was awesome about keeping a tab for a large group and everyone was really friendly (considering this was probably in large part not their typical crowd). We’ve always loved The Gutter on our own and with friends. Our big, diverse crowd had a great time and it set a great tone for our wedding the next day.
Great spot to meet up for casual bowling. The bar area makes for a really convenient meet up and post game hangout spot. I'm not a serious bowler, but the quality of the actual lanes and equipment might leave a little to be desired for a serious player, but for the casual games I've played here, it's been perfectly serviceable. Very casual dim bar setting that also sports a billiard table. Good selection of beers. Bathrooms are all individual private stalls with a later communal sink. They also host a comedy show on Wednesdays which I've been to a few times and enjoyed on every occasion. Actually quite surprised I haven't seen anyone bomb yet.
When you think of bowling in Williamsburg, most immediately think of Brooklyn Bowl (which is a pretty kick ass place, too) and forget about The Gutter. While it's not as slick as BB, I'm a big fan of The Gutter, which takes me back to bowling as a kid. The atmosphere is amazing and it's a great place to go bowling with friends and then catch a band in the back, with money left over! They have some good beers on tap, the staff and bartenders are great, which all make for a great time. If you're more of a serious bowler be sure to bring your own ball because the ones they have on the racks are "well loved."
Just read all the other comments stating how rude the staff are- that was my experience. I specifically called to bring in a baby so my husband and I could bowl. YES u can, if they are under 1. The bouncer- SO rude, so unwelcoming, made the whole experience awkward along with the manager. Bouncer kept demanding who I spoke with on phone. He asked the manager about the baby. Manager said fine. I was so disgusted about the way both handled the situation we LEFT immediately. I did nothing wrong and they made me think I did. They should have been NICE and handled it better. Jesus. Customer service, anyone?
Absolute awful experience. Bought 2 comedy tickets and the bouncer wouldn’t let me in because my ID recently expired (which hasn’t even been an issue flying with TSA). The bouncer refused to answer questions about a refund and got aggressive with my sister and I. They were very hostile to the person behind me who had to explain they recently transitioned genders, so don’t look like their ID photo. The bouncer was absolutely awful to them as well. I emailed the management about my experience and refunding my tickets and they never responded :/.

The lady in the front desk was really rude. İt was an easy Monday night, with not a lot of people but somehow she managed to turn this into a horrible night by changing our lanes mid game, not communicating, and being obnoxious. İ asked what was going on and because they accidentally allowed me to add a third person to my game they shut it off on frame 6. I've been here many times before but overall tonight upset me as a patron and made me not want to ever come back.

Actually this is not the first time I came to bowling at Gutter bar. This time my best friend just want to chill out so I go with her. On Sunday night it wasn't packed, there were 4 groups ahead of us but we didn't wait too long. It was so fun to come with friend no one care the score you get just having a good time. Bartender and another staff are super casual. The early shift was good but the night shift are kind of lazy and boring. That was one of the reason we left because after changing the shift, we feel the service was not good.
RUDE STAFF - it was one of the coldest days of the winter (Feels like -6°F) and they kept the doors wide open for over 15 or 20 minutes because they were loading beer kegs. the whole bar was so cold, it was unbearable and everyone was wearing coats and scarfs inside. when i politely asked the bouncer if they could please close the door he rudely yelled at me “it’s not my problem”. i asked another member of the staff and they said the same. why would they not just close the door, i don’t understand....
I love that this venue is open until 4am on the weekends! Reminds me of why I love New York, spontaneous fun at any hour of the day! The bowling alley isn’t luxurious so don’t expect too much. But it was operable and a bit pricey its $25/half hour which is about one game depending on how many ppl you have. I couldn’t imagine coming to this place while it was busy, seems like a recipe for chaos. However we came when no one was around and had a blast!!! I would definitely go back.
Bowling was awesome but the people that work here are extremely rude. And I’m not just talking one person.. every person that I encountered working here was awful. The woman who helped with bowling, anything but helpful. The bartender, worst attitude I’ve encountered in awhile. The woman clearing drinks, extremely off putting. I know it’s New York but you can’t make this up. Won’t be coming back, there’s enough places that are fun but don’t have such a rude staff.
When I went to an event here, I thought I was lost! I kept walking and walking and didn't see any end in sight. Finally we made it there and I think it's the best bowling alley I've seen in the city. It's got more personality and is smaller - you can tell the equipment is older, but it still works and adds a nice bit of charm to the place. I also really liked the bar area - there were people that hung out in that area who were clearly not bowling and it worked.
Right next to its famous, larger neighbor lies a small bowling alley. The entrance is nondescript, and the bar looks like a typical dive bar. Don't be fooled, there's a full bowling alley that looks more like the typical ones you'd find out in the suburbs. This is a good thing. There's nothing fancy or hip about bowling here. You get pitchers of beer, don your bowling shoes, and bowl away. There are not that many lanes so I would recommend arriving early.
The Gutter is a great neighborhood bowling alley, yet one that definitely shows its age. Problems periodically arise with both game setup and pin-retrieval machines, which admittedly does take up a considerable amount of total play time credit that has already been paid for, as lanes are paid for at an hourly rate. However, the staff is very attentive and strict with Covid-19 policies to ensure the safety of everyone, which is highly appreciated.
I mostly go to The Gutter for the bar. Only bowled here once before and had a lot of fun, but wouldn't necessarily wait in line to bowl again. The waiting list to bowl can be long and lane quality/ball selection is sub-par, although understandable for small groups and parties. Great space though, lots of seating available and I like to sit at the bar. Always visit when I'm in the area. They have Monday-Friday happy hour too.
I’d wish I could give them a zero, but here we are... Thinking you’ll get to bowl here on a weekday or weekend. It won’t happen. Big group or small group, it doesn’t matter. I’ve attempted to go here MULTIPLE times. But each time it has taken 3.5 hours. No rhyme or reason behind the delay or points system. This place is so disorganized and needs a better reservation system. Please add a time limit. I’ll never come back.
I've always loved the gutter and their old lanes. Right now they're taking safety to another level. You use a glove to pick out your ball, you are assigned to a specific area, and they are distancing lanes. They put a lot of effort into keeping all parties safe. It kind of sucks that you can't drink and bowl right now but that isn't their fault, regulations prohibit. They do have a large outside area you can drink at.
This place is very old school, the way it designed and the feeling that you get from it. A lot of the locals are hanging out there. There is a vintage bowling alley in the place, 70-80's style . There is a live show room in the place, with local bands , cheep and cool. The drink's price are good, compare to the area. They don't serve food, but u can bring your own, or order in. Fun place, pact at the weekends.
I was a bit skeptical about a bowling alley in Williamsburg, but I was pleasantly surprised. The bowling alley is next door to the bar, which is actually pretty fancy, but not in a "your bowling shoes aren't welcome here" kind of way. Loved the drinks, the services, the beer selection, the basic house wine (actually good) and the alleys were fun!! Old, old, OLD school score machines, but who cares! It was fun!
Had a pretty bad time solely because of the annoying rude bartender. There was just a lot of attitude when he was literally the one who forgot to ring up our items like. I’m not expecting an nyc bartender to be particularly kind but it’s like why did he have such a chip on his shoulder when he was the one who made the mistake

Been coming here over 10 years - Love everything about this place! The wood panel walls, dive bar, collection of bowling ball bags and beer chandeliers, Uncle's basement in the 70s vibe, re-purposed lanes from the midwest, candy machine, defunct phone booth, tons of single stall restrooms... It's just great all around. Just keep in mind bowling is cash only and the wait can get lengthy if you arrive too late.
From the events that happened in the background, to the very spacious main bar, to the bowling alleys, you can't ask for a better place to sit and have drinks. No frills, no pretense. This place does exactly what it says on the tin. A great and friendly staff. Call it a throwback, call it a meeting place, call it a neighborhood bar. Whatever you call it, just make sure you get there for some good times.
Go-to bowling spot as well as comedy joint. They have a stage in the back + a 2nd bar for shows, events, comedy nights, etc. Plenty of restrooms, never have to wait. Bowling is expensive but worth it. Staff is straightforward. Drinks are decently priced. Not the best prices, but worth it for the atmosphere and vibe. Smoking area outside, plus they have a pool table and a couple pinball machines.
My wife and I hosted a party in the Spare Room and had a great experience. The team was quick + responsive, they had everything we needed to host our band's show (A/V setup, projector, etc.) Everyone was super helpful and friendly and the event went off without a hitch. Also, the Gutter is just a great bar in general! Cozy, neighborhood, family feeling place. I always loved playing shows here.
Laid-back bar and bowling venue. We came here with a group of 10 on a Saturday afternoon and waited about an hour and a half for a lane, which was enough time for everyone to show up and share a few drinks. One lane for 2 hours (with people taking turns bowling) was the right amount of time for us. It was easy to keep pizza and pitchers next to us at the lane. Will definitely come back again.
Great bar, nice staff, though the bowling lanes can be a bit finicky (breakdowns and peculiar breaks) and it's tough to find a ball if you have big hands, but otherwise I love this place. Great for just hanging out or if you want to have a group bowling session. They'll occasionally have live music in back, have plenty of seating, allow for outside food, and have a pool table. Good stuff.
It was super old; probably as old as my dad.. The bowling alley is so run down and old. I can't even see the weight number on the balls anymore. The machines mis-counted the scores. Nevertheless, it is so casual and a fun experience. We don't need to pretend to be high class and trendy here. They got cheap drinks. We had a lot of fun at this industrial-like bowling alley/bar/pool house.
Here's an awesome afternoon or evening for you and your friends. The vintage alleys and balls aren't anything too special, but you're coming here for fun, not to bowl 300. The bar is well stocked, great beer selection, nothing to complain about here... Aside from the price maybe. If you have 6 people and you want to bowl 2 games, expect to take about 2 hours if you have one lane.
I've been to gutter bar many times without a problem but went to see a friend's band play sat Nov 3rd and had only a two month expired state I.D. Despite being clearly sober and polite the doorman wouldn't let me in even though I'm 47. I didn't think it was a problem after my 42 year old friend was let in just before with an expired passport....Biased doorman be aware.
I saw Math the Band and Teenage Halloween play a show in the back room and it was really fun! The whole experience was pretty laid back, it’s nice to be able to go from bowling to the bar to a show and not get locked in to one place. The show space is small but has its own bar and was perfect for the crowd that night. Sound was good and the music was too!
Got to our lane and the guys next to us were aggressive about wanting to take our lane because they wanted to spread out and refused to share seating. Then they took the balls we picked out along with the group that showed up after them. The crowd here all look like it’s their first time bowling and have zero etiquette.

Fun old-school bowling alley with vintage wood lanes and scoring screen systems. The pricing is also very reasonable; we paid $49 for an hour of bowling and three pairs of shoes rentals, and got in two and a half games. It also wasn't too crowded and had the quintessential dive-bar feel, so it was a great cozy time with friends.
I went for the first time last week and brought someone who had never bowled before. They had a blast! The lanes are definitely old-school. The pricing is not really on par with your average bowling alley, but I presumed it would be like that because of the neighborhood. Overall, good strong drinks and good music in the bar area.
Great dive bar with a pool table. Wouldn't you know it, there's also a bowling alley in the back, nice place to hang out at late on a Monday night when it's less busy. Staff was great. If you wanna get a lane when it's busy, you may have to wait a while, which is what you have to do anywhere when it's busy, wait. Check it out.
They have the most educated personal. You cannot start working here if you don’t have at least a PhD and 9 years experience as a bartender. Highly recommend for small talks. Don’t leave there your resume with the bartender, they will probably throw it in the trash can :)

Excellent spot for bowling that isn't insanely expensive. Yes you have to wait to get a lane, but while you wait you can get beer and bring in food. The lanes are old and a little crooked, so if you're a serious bowler this might not be for you. But if you just want to toss some balls at some pins, this place is perfect.
Everything you need to know about this place is in the name and that's what makes it amazing. It's a dark, throwback bar with ancient bowling balls, lanes, and scoring machines. The staff is super friendly and helpful, drinks are good, and the atmosphere is playfully antiquated.

I love the Gutter because it is so retro! They made something out of nothing and the place has got character. It is much cheaper than bowling in the city. There aren't many lanes so you will have to wait awhile but overall it is a fun and chill thing to do in Williamsburg if you are not into the bar scene.
super fun spot, loved the old school vibe. the beer prices are fantastic and the bowling is great. there’s only 8 lanes so i recommend checking in a bit beforehand in case there’s a wait. love the fact that you can order food delivery to this spot since they don’t have a kitchen! we’ll definitely be back.
Terrible service. Security is terrible. Got jumped along with my girlfriend getting punched by a guy. Not a single person did anything and her bag got stollen. The person in that picture I believe is the one that took it.

This place is so much cuter than Brooklyn Bowl! It's small and dive-y, like a proper local bar. And there's no cover ever, unless you're coming to see a band. Just make sure that you get there early, as lines start forming around 9:30-10pm. Teriyaki jerky is okay, but tastes like beef soaked in soy sauce.
Cheap and cheerful and a load of fun. The bar is excellent. Basic furnishings with eclectic decor highlights, the staff are great and the drink is cheap. Bowling is a time warp back to an older era of the game with the monocolor computer systems. Highly recommend coming here with a great of friends.
It's okay if you get there early enough. By 9pm it is so packed that it takes about 20 minutes to get a beer. Bouncer is a jerk to everyone and loves yelling at people. It's a cool place otherwise. If you get there early before it's crowded you can have a damn good time there bowling and drinking!
Really great spot if you like dingy dark bars. The pool table is a bit worn, but it works! Not the Best lanes if you are a serious bowler, but the bar allows you to order takeout so I think that makes up for it. This is a great bar to hit up with a few friends. I'll definitely be back soon.
We came across this place quite by accident one rainy day in Greenpoint and had such a great afternoon. Laid-back people of all ages were playing pool, talking, and lining up to bowl in a super cute old 4-lane bowling alley. Great beer and drinks, but it is cash only, which is annoying.
I like it. It's a no frills bowling alley and large dark, hipster dive bar. Bowling wait times can be long and bowling isn't cheap. But the atmosphere and crowd are unparalleled in experience with the NYC bowling scene. It's a great time all around. The name says it all, read it again.
This is very much a vintage 80s bowling alley with all the old fixings. What I like most about this place is that it’s great to get together with friends and bowl or just kick back and grab a drink. Nothing high tech here just pure fun. My group had a great time. It’s very nostalgic.
Lane equipment routinely needs maintenance during games & the small (but fab) staff is obviously overworked as of lately. Regardless -- the great adjacent bar, old-timey/unshaven feel & on-brand staff for the neighborhood make this place worth visiting on a **weekday** evening.
A dive bar with bowling! It gets pretty crowded and the wait time for a lane can be super long. But they have a good selection of pitchers. They don't have a kitchen but they'll provide you with a binder of takeout menus and you can get any food you want right to their door.
My favorite place in all of Williamsburg. When you walk in it takes you right back into an 80's bar. The bowling is a plus but love to go for the beer/shot combos and just hang out. CMYK comedy shows are every Wednesday and Saturday for only $5, cheap night for some laughs.
Bring cash and be ready to wait an hour or more on a weekend night for a lane. No servers at the lanes so make sure to bring extra friends to go grab drinks. The crowd will be a good mix of birthday parties, hardcore rockers/punks. Put a smile on and have a good time!
Had so much fun at the Gutter! Great simple lanes (although, there are only 6 or 7 lanes so it can get crowded). Went here for the Google NYC open bar event and it was so much fun. Between a great bar (with a wonderful staff) and bowling lanes, you can't go wrong!
The Gutter is great bar with amazing atmosphere. The music is great and the bartenders are in the mood every time I go there. They can make really good drinks and the price is okay. The bar is full of people most of the time and I had really crazy evenings there.
Cool bar. Totally vintage. Good shot and beer combo. Fun vibe. The band's were great tonight. If you're looking for easy going campy fun it is a great spot. Always has been. If you're looking for bowling gimmicks there is a better place around the way for that.
Nice punk rock vibe with group seating. Old school bowling alley in there as well. It's a vibe . You can deliver your food to the bar and they are cool about it. The place doesn't serve food

The absolute rudest, most disgruntled guy running the bowling "desk". Snarky comments punctuated any interaction with him. The guy managed to shroud the enjoyment of an otherwise cool bar with nice bartenders and decent drinks with a lingering unpleasantness.
A dive bar of a bowling alley. Lanes aren't even, balls are all banged up, and the shoes are falling apart. There is some charm in its rough and tumble nature but don't expect a high quality bowling alley and know that you will be paying for the "ambiance"
A gem of a dive bar with tons and character and everything you want in your local spot. A couple bowling lanes in the back, pool table, and some arcade games scattered throughout, this should be your go-to spot. You can even order food to the bar ;)
I love it! You walk in to the bar and see a window looking into the bowling alley next door. The decor is really interesting, especially these vintage lampshades (?) hanging over the bar. Good drinks. Friendly bartenders. I'd definitely go back.
Came on a Friday afternoon and there was 2 for 1 bowling and a happy hour going on. Cool retro feel, good beer selection, friendly people. It can take a while to get a lane but their bar area is spacious so you can get a beer while you wait.
one of the employees here ruined this whole experience. Incredibly rude and screamed at my girlfriend for taking a picture of me, because she unfortunately had stepped one step onto another lane (that was not in use) he came running in and
After waiting for 3 hours to bowl, and after 10 minutes on the lane we were FORCED to leave because one of our friends vaped once, without prior warning. I understand the policy but we were literally pushed out and aggressively thrown out
Racist place. 2 black bodyguards who where hostile at the entrance. Who only let in people they liked. Mostly women. They threatened me because I was too close to the entrance while trying to ask why they barred me. Upon questioning why I
The gutter isn't your newest, shiniest, fanciest bowling alley, but if you're not too serious about bowling, its a lot of fun. The lanes can be a bit bumpy, but with the all you can drink deal it wont really matter. There are about 10-15
Blatantly rude bouncers. Tried entering but my partner didn’t have an id, so we asked a couple questions politely to clarify the id requirement. The bouncer immediately became hostile and impatient and started a confrontation with me. I
IF you can combine tattoos and bowling (like you should :-)) then you have: the Gutter. Great drink prices, great fun. IT's what all the cool kids are doing. :-) Young crowd; college range, but still fun for the older punk in all of us.
Bowling is great and its easy to sign up. They have socks to buy if you need them. Drink prices are great, I bought a round of midshelf liquor and didn't break $50. Would much rather bowl here than some expensive location in Manhattan.
We had a great time here. The staff is friendly, the music is cool and the prices are not too high. I was little upset that they don't serve food, but I like that they allow to bring your own. Overall it's a great place to hang out!
Came to this place with my girlfriend for free tattoos and Sailor Jerry drinks last week. Chill crowd overall with a good staff. Its pretty much like the dive version of Brooklyn Bowl since they have a few bowling lanes too.
This place has an awesome vibe. Nice full bar, pool table and games. Lots of seating. BYOF (seamless is A-OK here). The bowling was really fun too, but we had to wait 3 hours before it was our turn. No reservations.
Fun place to hang out, have drinks and bowl! Old style place, old lanes (which I love).. only 8 lanes and it can get crowded. The Moscow mule wasn't great but gin's tonic was yummy. We really enjoyed our time there
A very awesome dive Bar. Typical dive Bar vibes, meets professionalism, meets amazing venue, meet excellent bowling alley. Could rant and rave. Definitely better than venues like The Fire in Philadelphia
Had a fun time with my partner on a double date. A little bit more busy than expected but very good beer selection and liquors. Bowling was spaced out and equipment was sanitized after each group's game.
The place is really good but the bowling is messed up. Nice selection of beer and the restrooms aren't that clean and the bartenders are friendly. This is the perfect place to organize an office party
Person who is handling bowling is the worst. She needs to get proper training on how to handle the bowling lanes. I could give 0 stars if I could

Great local staple bar and bowling alley. Its amazing to see the sport of bowling hasn't died. Everyone was friendly and the prices were cheap. Very packed for a Tuesday night but a whole lot of fun!
Vintage 8 lane bowling alley only $7 a game. The beer prices are also good and the even have a few pool tables. In the back they have a nice section for live performances from up and coming artist.
such a fun vibe for a bar! Went on a saturday and there was a 2.5 hour wait for bowling- we expected it to be busy but we werent able to bowl after waiting the time. They make a mean whiskey sour!
Great drink prices with beers and cocktail for $7-11! Awesome activities for you and your date, like bowling, billiards, foosball, and occasional live shows. Definitely a spot worth checking out!
Pretty cool and fun place. You can play bowling and also drink a beverage here. There are many other things you can do if you're cool enough, but you don't need me to tell you that, do you?
Went for a company event. Seems all the cool kids come here to get drunk and bowl. A millennial bowling alley. What entertains me is the gym that has garage door windows across the street.
A dive bar and very old nostalgic bowling alley that grows on you as you spend time in both. Pitchers of beer make for a fun group outing and the whole place is something out of the past.
The ideal bowling venue. Vintage, quaint, chill. No obnoxious neon lights or screaming kids. Good beer, great music. Perfect for a night out with your friends without getting a headache!
No Kitchen; Bowling is great! Just remember to come earlier to claim a ticket for your place in line. First come, First Serve!

Perfect dive bar experience. Bathrooms we're fully tagged, pool table had tape struggling to cover holes on the felt and the drinks were affordable. Staff was really nice too!
Didn’t let us finish our game in the middle of the 10th frame. Cleared our screen before we could see the scores. No warning at all. Bowl somewhere else.

Great ambience and service! Drinks are well priced. Some of the bowling lanes were not functional which created crowding. Would be nice if they added small food items too.
Half bar and half bowling alley with eight lanes. Bowling mostly centered around entertainment VS not entirely ideal for competitive bowling. Has great atmosphere.
Great staff, friendly service, amazing prices, and an all around chill vibe. Super fun night anytime you go here. Bowling isn't very expensive either.
The Gutter is a Williamsburg institution. It should be registered on the list of national historic places. Children should take field trips here.
Awesome spot. Cheap drinks and bowling is reasonably priced. Lots of fun! Came her mid afternoon on a Sunday, not too busy. Service is friendly.
Great bar for a larger group. If you're planning on bowling on a weekend night, prepare to get there early or have a very long wait for a lane.
I probably shouldn’t give it 5 since I’ve yet to bowl there. But it is a fun space for the comedy shows and they make pretty good drinks.
