Stayed at the Guesthouse Hotel for a weekend in Chicago. Wanted a hotel fairly close to Wrigley field as we would be attending a Cubs game. The hotel served its purpose for us, a family with two teenage boys. The two-bedroom option was large, clean, was nice to have two full bathrooms, and the full kitchen was nice even though we like to dine out while on vacation and not cook, we only used the fridge. Beds were comfortable, A/C worked well. Balcony was very small and on top of or beside all of the other balconies, so no privacy and just a view of the parking garages and junk cars from the auto repair shop next door. The only TV was in the living/kitchen area, no TV in the bedrooms. For the luxury prices, I would think there would be a TV in the bedroom. Also, no USB plugs, except one in the back of an old-style alarm clock beside the bed. Parking turned out to be nice. I emailed ahead of time to notify the hotel that I would need parking as their confirmation email requested. Parking is limited, and a tight squeeze in enclosed garages, be sure to request parking before you arrive. Location was close to several restaurants and numerous local independent shops along Clark St. If you are looking for a location in Chicago within walking distance of more than just restaurants and local shops, or one of the theaters, this is not your place. We walked up Clark St for an hour and saw all that we wanted. Other than that, we rented bikes for a 1.9 mile ride to Wrigley Field and Uber everywhere else so we didn’t have to pay for parking again. Overall, the Guesthouse Hotel was nice and I would recommend if you have an extended stay, a need for space, and the location meets your needs. For the price, I expected more luxurious accommodations. You are paying for size of the rooms, not necessarily luxurious amenities or location.

Great small hotel in a great area on the north end of Chicago. Easy to get to and very close to the main street of Andersonville and walking distance to Uptown. This is a modern space with a vintage vibe. The main lobby is very open with coffee available 24x7, a very nice sitting area with a fireplace and a well-stocked library with comfortable seats and a large table. The staff is outstanding, warmly greeting us whenever we came and went and had some excellent recommendations for the area. Truly a guest-centered hospitality. We picked this spot due to the walkability of the local area and within walking distance of the Aragon where we were going to a show. Booking it kind of blindly, we made a great choice. Good restaurants and bars in the area and very walkable, even late at night. We really appreciated the reserved parking as it was easy to get in and out. Our room was a double on (405) and, while right off of the elevator, it was very quiet. The room was actually an apartment - fully furnished kitchen, a nice living room and sparated bedrooms. Both bathrooms were very large, and there was even extra blankets, towels and pillows available within the room. Good lighting, and excellent view, and everything was clean. The room even has a small balacony (a bit cold for sitting on while we were there) with excellent views and a ready-to-go gas grill. The beds and furniture were very comfortable and the full-sized refridgerator was a nice touch. Overall, a great stay, great staff, and a great location. Definitely stay here again when coming to the Chicago area.

We had an exceptional experience at the Guesthouse, I think we've found the hotel we will return to when staying in Chicago. The rooms are large, well appointed, and very homey. We were very comfortable during our stay. Footsteps do travel through the floors, so if you are light sleeper, be warned, you may want to get a top floor. The neighborhood is very safe and only a short drive from downtown. If you want to be in the heart of Chicago this hotel is obviously not for you, but if you are looking for a clean, comfortable, and spacious hotel that is just outside of downtown, then this is a great option. Actually, the rooms here are enormous compared to most hotels in the downtown area, making this a great option for family groups.

Focusing on the negatives since others covered the positives well enough: Ritz-Carlton prices but more like budget hotels on a some things. I couldn't believe that a place this expensive and seemingly nice provided no robes in the bathroom. The bed sheets were itchy polyester and the beds were terribly uncomfortable. Checkout is an unreasonably early 10 a.m. When I asked to extend it, they only could add 30 minutes. Steam shower controls were broken, the hot water wasn't hot enough to shave with, and the floors are quite loud (we were woken by upstairs neighbors getting up quietly in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.)

We stayed here after an AirBnB mishap and it ended up being a blessing in disguise as The Guest House was amazing! We had two dogs and it very dog friendly with bowls and doggie beds. Everything was clean, well appointed, and the area felt safe. The Guest House is in the Andersonville neighborhood which is full of many cute bars and restaurants. Shout out specifically to Zoe who helped me book the suite last minute and had answers to every question we asked. She was amazing! When we come back to Chicago, this will be our new first choice for accommodations. Thank you!

What a lovely experience and beautiful hotel! The staff were amazing and also always available for our questions and to give recommendations. The details were so thoughtful around the lounge and lobby and we enjoyed having a spacious two bedroom suite. It was tucked in a charming neighborhood and we enjoyed walking down the street to the local coffee shop and cute plant store. Would love to stay here again!

We just returned from a girls weekend where we stayed one night at the Guesthouse. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel messaged me that our room was ready early and that we could check in early if we wanted. Parking was easy and really nice. The room was phenomenal…clean, spacious, updated, and well stocked with everything we needed. Amazing service and accommodations. Definitely recommend!

The Guesthouse was an exceptional stay for my family. We were in town for my brother’s wedding and I have an 8 month old infant. The Guesthouse was incredibly accommodating. They had so much of the baby stuff that we needed so we didn’t have to bring it, and the room was perfect for a small family to use as a home base during a busy wedding weekend. I’d absolutely stay here again.

It's a beautiful hotel. Front desk was helpful and knowledgeable. We were traveling with a toddler who escaped the room. No deadbolts or chain locks, I'm assuming that's because of fire code, but we had to get creative to make sure the little one stayed inside! Other than that it was a nice refuge after exploring the city.

My son and DIL booked this place for us to stay and it was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. Lovely staff, very attentive to details and took great care that we had a garage to park my car safely. I would recommend this hotel

Other than the friendly staff there are no positive aspects to note. The hotel (room #302) was dirty with grime on tables, bathrooms, and floors. The linens are cheap and heavily scented with a sticky feel from way too much fabric softener.

0 star if Google has the option. THIS IS NOT IT. This place judges u by the way u appeal to them. I think they might judge a book by its cover. The interaction I had with the hotel was the most unpleasant. We definitely were uncomfortable

Hands down, this is the best hotel in Chicago, especially if you're staying longer than a weekend. Staying here felt like I had moved to Chicago. It was outstanding. The apartments are airy and spacious. There is plenty of natural light.

Best kept secret of Chicago hotelery. All the staff was friendly, helpful and attentive 24 hours. The reception area has comfortable furniture, a library, and they sell snacks and beverages, including a nice selection of beer and wine.
