Very poor correspondence from the French Door and overall disappointing service. My fiancée and I were wanting to purchase our wedding bands here after we initially had good service with resizing of the engagement ring (purchased elsewhere) by Manuel. The service was poor and rushed. i.e having a rude attendant have my choose my wedding band in under 2 minutes while standing up at the display cabinet. She didn't even offer us to take a seat when discussing my fiancée's custom ring so instead we stood behind the 2 pushed in chairs while she was behind the table. There was then no follow up with the quote, which prompted me to contact the owner and express my overall dissatisfaction with the service. AGAIN, after then promising to follow up with a sample ring/discussions for the next step in designing they failed to deliver... in fact, I'm STILL waiting on a message or phone call from March (now June). I would have thought that after already displaying poor communication that an extra effort would be made to follow through and satisfy the customer even at a basic level but clearly not. Regardless, this was a blessing in disguise as we now have an incredible 10/10 custom diamond ring to fit the engagement ring to absolute perfection by 'Bentley De Lisle', which is a true 5 star business that actually delivers on their word.

Poor customer service and time management, let alone defensiveness and sheer arrogance from the staff. We visited the French Door in early-mid April for an in-person visit for a custom quote for wedding bands to be ready by late July. They said that this should be fine as their turnaround time is 6 - 12 weeks. Since early May, we have followed up multiple times to progress but received roundabout replies and repetitive questions that were otherwise already answered. They can't even give us anything written, whether that is a legitimate quote or payment details, nor do they bother to follow up. I can see that we aren't the only couple who have experienced this here. During this same time, we got quotes from 4 different jewellers - all happy to deliver within timeframe ‍♀️ How on earth do you run a business? Depending on your reputation is running thin here. Just sending text messages and a verbal agreement doesn't mean that the job is going ahead. Complete waste of time.

The process of getting our wedding rings made by French Door was so easy and fun. We came to the team with a photo of a ring I liked online and they were able to create matching rings in the exact same style for us. We thought it would be extra special to have matching wedding bands - Manuel suggested making one thicker and more masculine and one more delicate and feminine. At first we were worried the rings would be too expensive but we were even able to set the price upfront and Manuel worked to that. My partner rides everyday so Manuel also suggested lowering the gold content of his ring to make it more durable. Manuel alloys the gold himself, so he was able to make the most beautiful subtle rose gold colour for our rings – and even though they had different gold content they match perfectly. Our rings get complimented all the time. We absolutely love them and couldn’t be happier with the colour, quality and design of our wedding rings. Amelia :)

I began about a year ago to take some items of family jewellery to The French Door for minor adjustments/repairs. From the displays of beautiful jewellery I thought that they would probably not be interested in minor bits and pieces of work, but I was welcomed warmly and attentively, provided with expert advice and very pleasantly surprised at the cost. The latest project has been the restoration of a dress ring of my mother's as a gift for my niece. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the completed work. It was transformed from just being old to looking absolutely stunning, and exceeded anything I could have hoped for. I was in this evening with my family in regards to a chain we sent in for a clasp repair and clean. A simple thing any jeweler could do. When we got the chain back it was stretched and the pendant has a significant deep scratch (we believe it might not even be the same chain). The attendants serving us completely denied any responsibility and then the older attended brushed us off, and then went and loudly talked about us to other staff. His behaviour was rude, embarrassing, and down right disrespectful. I've had great experiences here with previous purchases but this overrides all of my previous experiences. I hope this message brings a conclusion to this incident.

I cannot speak highly enough of Manuel and the team at The French Door. They were extremely open, honest and forthcoming with their advice from the outset. They worked with me to achieve exactly what I was looking for at the best possible price rather than trying to convince me to go down a more expensive route. Manuel gave me excellent advice regarding certain aspects of the ring that I wanted which I hadn't thought of, he then took my design idea and did an amazing job of creating the exact engagement ring that I wanted for my fiancée. The level of service and quality of the finished product was impeccable and I would recommend The French Door to anyone.

I can not speak highly enough of the service provided by Manuel and Lourdes at The French Door when designing and purchasing an Engagement ring for my partner. They provided a service like no other from start to finish, where they were very informative, extremely genuine and worked around me at every opportunity. I picked the ring up last Friday, proposed on the Saturday and dropped back in on the Sunday where they resized the ring for us within 50 minutes on minimal notice. The finished product is absolutely stunning, exactly how I had imagined. We look forward to using the French door for our wedding bands in the future.

Went in this morning to enquire about getting a ring I had custom made in Dubai re-sized. Whilst I knew it needed a lot of work to be resized I did not expect to be laughed at and treated poorly. The woman who served me - older with glasses was rude, condescending and laughed in my face, she also questioned why I couldn’t go to where I had it made. I have previously used this store for jewellery cleaning and other purchases but after today I will NEVER EVER come here again and give them my time or money. If I wanted to be treated like rubbish I would have gone to prouds or gold mark. Absolutely disgusting!!

Manny and Lourdes were fantastic! I cannot recommend them highly enough! I am very fussy, and Manny has the gift of creation! He made my ring better than I could have imagined it! Almost 2 years later and I am even more in love with my ring! It is a momento and being so happy with it makes it that much more special. If you want quality and what you want! The staff at French Door went above and beyond when we were looking for the dress ring I had in mind. They sourced a number of stones to find just the right colour and size and then made the ring exactly how I envisaged. We returned when we inherited some rings to have them remade into one gorgeous ring. Again they were so very helpful with drawings and photos to ensure the ring would turn out just as we imagined. Very grateful for their patience and beautiful workmanship.

I approached the team at The French Door to see if they would make 9mm plugs for my ears. Most plugs from body piercing shops are made with cheap metals, whereas I wanted quality silver and gold. Obviously this was an unusual order, but they all worked with me on what I wanted and went out of their way to make them fit and to let me choose the stones. A big thanks to everyone at The French Door. I am deeply appreciative and now have earrings that I can wear proudly.

Manny has +30 years experience so knew exactly what I was chasing. Lourdes is always warm and welcoming. We had a wonderful experience with The French Door. The owners are lovely and they knew exactly what we were after. We had a custom ring made with my great grandmother's stone and it is absolutely perfect. The prices were reasonable and it felt good to support a small business. Came in with a broken chain on a bracelet, was greeted immediately and by a super friendly staff member who gave me a quick response, said it would be 20 minutes and only $10, called me not 5 minutes later saying it was ready for collections and because it was such an easy repair they didn’t even charge me. What a fantastic experience! We had some gold jewellery handed down from a grandmother that we took into the French Door to have it melted down and made into wedding bands. The staff were so lovely, they took videos/photos of the melting process etc to show us. The end result is fantastic. I will not use another jeweller. This place is the best. :)
