So this is a collection of the many times that I have been there for shows or just nights out. First of all, the location is easy to get in and out of if you are in a compact car or doing the Uber thing to get there. Most country fans do drive trucks, so the parking is tight and has poor flow. Once you get through the three step entrance process, props there for safety, you are in. If you arrive past 9, just expect to stand on a ramp or make new friends that might have a table. Music is usually great! We have been to three national/regional headliner shows there and they do a great job. The local "country bands" are more cover bands, so expect good dancing music but nothing phenomenal. Drinks are slightly overpriced, as expected, but better if you go to the bar to order versus expecting a waitress to return in under 30min. If you are expecting a dance hall the likes of Texas or Oklahoma, be forewarned it is far from that. The dance floor is very small and always packed. You have a collection of levels from those who are just learning to dance to those who think they are on 'Dancing with the Stars.' There is a HIGH chance of getting kicked in the head or ran over by someone who is energetically swing dancing to a slow dance song. I would say it is a one off, or just that one time, but out of the 20 or more times we have gone, I have been kicked three times and ran over by someone who was spinning with their partner that got away and ends up spinning into the crowds forced to stand on the walkways onto the dance floor. In Albuquerque, beggars can't be choosers, and this is all we got...

Came to enjoy myself and forgot my ID so my sweet husband drove home to get it. We showed it to our second waiter since the first waiter never came back to our table after serving us. The waiter also charged the wrong tab to our card btw! Then 45 minutes later and into having a good time after dinner, (8;45 pm) I was asked by a very fat heavy set man to step outside. I said no for what? He did not want to explain and that was very off putting and threatening. He escorted me outside where I was met by 5 large security guards. This is unnecessary for a petit 5’3 woman who weighs 115 lbs. Felt completely threatened and there they are questioning my ID again after I showed it to my waiter 45 minutes ago. The security guards were Laughing and getting a thrill out of how upset I was. C’mon I’m 45 years old, just trying to enjoy myself. What an embarrassing time. I never get out and the one night I do, I get harassed by the staff. Shandra the manager never apologized even after I tried to explain how uncomfortable the situation was and instead argued with me and accused me of harassing her. (Who knows poor thing she has to try to make a living off of this gig, so I guess I’d walk around with a chip on my shoulder too.) How did it take them another 45 minutes to come and verify my ID after I had already showed it to my waiter?! What a joke. And lack of professionalism. These guys were laughing at the fact I was upset and throwing peace signs for my photo.

Ok- so the first time my husband and I came to this live bar was on a friday and was so fun and carefree. This is why we decided to return this weekend with some friends and family. Fast forward to tonight (7 days later on a Saturday night) my husband gets escorted out for having ONE modelo beer and ONE shot of Patron! Literally!!!! We did absolutely nothing wrong and were there a little over an hour! Yet there were other white woman and white men hammered everywhere! PLEASE REVIEW THE CAMERA FOOTAGE!!! DISCRIMINATION is only to blame. We are a mixed race: white, hispanic, native american, and black. We did absolutely nothing wrong to be kicked out of this bar and you better believe that we will take this to the US Department of Justice Civil Rights Division and the Better Business Bureau along with further proceedings as there are so many Google comments of this issue constantly continuing at this bar!!! THE DIRTY BOURBON SHOULD BE A PRIVATE VENUE IF THEY DO NOT ACCEPT PEOPLE OF COLOR! I addressed this to the "manager" on-site her name was SHANDRA. She was very condescending and extremely rude as I was trying to speak to her about this matter. This will not go unseen nor unheard!!!

Overall a fun experience, but definitely a one time experience for me. The bartenders were beautiful but stuffed into awkward costumes. The bouncers waited with us outside until our Uber scooped us up! I appreciated this and felt safe. Bouncers were respectful and protective. Inside was loud and crowded. Live music was so loud I could barely hold a conversation or order a drink. Cannot walk to the dance floor or bar without bumping the swarms of other guests. They do not carry grapefruit juice for a Paloma. This is crazy for New Mexico! Live music was fun, but I wished there were some classic Western songs thrown in the mix. I entered the venue hoping for some Dolly Parton or Marty Robbins and was disappointed by the 2010’s era country. They played a singular Shania Twain song. This was the highlight of the night. Decor reflected white, conservative values. Decor included blue lives matter flags and transphobic bathroom signs. I am left with mixed feelings and do not think I will return. Be sure to arrive before 9 PM if you want to park.

First time here in the 6 years they've been open. Here for a local indie band and JD McPherson show. Very weird. Strange signs about no gang apparel and to leave the parking lot by 2am or cops are called. Other weird things: then I walked in I thought I was in the wrong place; seniors were at the door checking IDs, tickets, etc. So, little old ladies and men as bouncers. Thought I was here for bingo at first. Nice folks, just, well...different. The sound seems okay for a live music venue. Two long 53ft bars...yup, 106 liner feet of bar and yet no beers on tap; all bottles and cans (so just clap your hands) and they cost twice as much as the weak sports bar next door. I think they have a mechanical bull, but it isn't out this evening (in fact, they're normally closed on Mondays and this is a Monday...Which explains the lackluster crowd for a national touring act. Smoking patio in back. We're it not for the bands playing tonight, it probably wouldn't be worth the $20 Uber ride. Your mileage may vary.

I will never go back to this place!! Worst experience ever! My daughter left her review and did not get a response from management, lets see if I will. My daughter reserved the VIP section for our family Thursday April 4th. We were having a bachelor/baccalaureate party. We got there around 8:30 so we could decorate our section. Everyone was having a good time but no one was drunk. My dsughter was on the dance floor and she was wearing some high shoes. She was dancing and the clumsy person she is she tripped on her own foot and fell. The security guy thought she was drunk and kicked her out. Even after explaining to him what happened he told her that our entire party had to leave. She paid 100 dollars for that VIP area and they just kicked her out like she was trash!! I will tell everyone I know not to visit this establishment! They are rude and very unprofessional! My daughter and her fiance's party was ruined and they will never get that moment back!!

Went there last night with a few non white friends all over 35yrs old looking to have a few drinks. They kicked my wife out from the smoke pit for nothing. Old security lady told my friend to take her hand off the heater, then told my wife to come talk to her. No one was loud or drunk but they escorted her to the exit, with no issues or yelling since she wasn't even drunk. Watch your own security camera. During that time they tried to steal her phone sticking up from her purse. Luckily we noticed it gone and went to ask security about it. They acted and said they didn't know anything about it. My friend called the phone and the same security guard pulled it out of his back pocket after everyone heard it ringing. Check the camera on that too. Should of had the police involved for theft but whatever. From the other reviews on this place and my own experience, place is fun but seems racist to non whites with shady security. Go somewhere else!!!!

  • Reid Rivenburgh

We went and were having a decent time, but I was getting tired apparently, because someone thought it was important to come by and tell us to leave. Stopping by the restroom was not an option. Heavy-handed for no reason. Will not return. Addressing owner comments: I don't know where you get this idea that you have to ask people that you think are intoxicated to leave. It's a bar! Your only obligation is to not serve them alcohol. (Honestly, a responsible bar owner would ask such a person if they need a taxi, etc., rather than just kicking them out.) In my case, I was not asleep, not even drinking (yes, we had gone to the brewery next door before), and not causing any trouble whatsoever. Not allowing me to use the restroom on the way out was the final straw. What was the rationale for that? Your responses here are polite, but your policies and your heavy-handed staff say otherwise. It's your choice to treat your customers poorly.

  • Paul P

BEWARE!!! This establishment has very self serving ideations accompanied with an unprofessional vulgar staff that likes to escalate situations both inside and outside of the business. The heavy set security guy pictured in the blue shirt on the phone is customarily verbally abusive in the parking lot and can be found egging on illegally parked customers getting towed to do property damage to surrounding businesses. He also stated he had zero respect for the Military and Veterans! I’m sorry his mother didn’t teach him any better. Looking at their reviews, the owner condones this type of behavior against “certain people” and takes pride in fostering an environment of disrespect and utter chaos! This property should be declared a public nuisance and shut down! Please call 311 and file a report if you agree. Avoid this place at all cost unless you want to be disrespected and experience world class drama!!!

This is definitely the spot for two-stepping and swinging! Good sized dance floor and for the drinkers, bars all around with quick service and beautiful bar tenders. They have a zero tolerance policy which is GREAT. You don't see drunk people falling down everywhere or ruining the evening. They move them out quickly. Security is top notch! Cover is typically only $5! Unless there's a concert. These other local spots are ridiculous with their covers lately. LIVE music! Always bands, both local and from out-of-state. The sound is perfect. It's loud enough to feel like a concert, but the sound is clean and evenly distributed so you can also still have a conversation without blowing your pipes out. Even attended a wedding there once and it was probably one of the most fun! Because we got to dance into the night! And now they have the new side with TVs for sports and bar food!

Dirty Bourbon has become the single most inclusive club in Albuquerque. Lots of phenomenal dancers willing to share their love of dance, you can come alone and still have dance partners all night long. If you drink, say hi to Lauren and Bonda at the bar. If you don't drink, the water is clean, cold and crisp, so you don't get dehydrated dancing. Great live music Thurs - Sat, and the Sat night midnight dance music always includes the Wobble. Whether you two step, line dance, or Southwest Swing, DB is the neighborhood bar Cheers claimed to be on TV.... and after a few weekends, everyone will know your name. The best food is available before 8 pm, and the pool tables are decent but you will be happier bringing your own stick. See you there!

Don’t go here! They will kick you out either for no reason or for not tipping the bartender. I would totally understand if I was showing aggressive behavior or falling over and slurring words but, I only had two mixed drinks and a beer, was perfectly aware of everything going on and wasn’t starting any problems or falling over and was told that I was “too intoxicated” so I had to leave. Manager and wanna be police officers couldn’t explain to me the “intoxicated behavior” that I was implementing or show any video proof because it’s private property and they don’t have too. Save your money and go some where else. Management is horrible and very unprofessional and unreasonable. Bottom line I think one of the bartenders got hurt because I didn’t leave a tip and told wanna be police officers to kick me out.

This place is such a dump! I went to a party where a table was reserved and the cocky bouncer guys kept going around taking our drinks from our table! They charge enough for drinks even if you want the ice, it's yours, you paid enough for it. It must be their motive to get you to keep buying drinks. Scammers. It's obvious the big fat bouncer wanna be rent a cops were the guys that got picked on in school so now they get off on the little bit of authority they have. How sad. They all look so miserable and probably can hardly wait to get home to beat their girls. They're totally that type. YUK! I'm glad I'm not desperate enough to go there. I saw the bouncers harassing the table next to us probably because they looked at them wrong. Or maybe simply because they were breathing. Get a real job, losers!

You want to Dance? This is your place, matter fact it’s the only Country & Western dance hall (this size) left in town. We got there at 6PM as they opened the doors. ID’s checked, no fee at this time to get in. Picked a table near the floor got our drinks then hit the dance floor. For hour & half there were only about 3-10 couples dancing. Felt like we had the place to ourselves. As the hours pass we were told the younger crowd shows up. Well… can’t verify because we left before 8. As a senior this was perfect night for us, dancing, great atmosphere, friendly employees, clean environment. I know Covid has scared many people away from going out, but if you go at 6 any risk is minimal. Others can tell you about the late night scene my goal was to tell you about the over 60 experience

Last night was my first time here and won't say it's my last.. haven't gone out with my family in awhile and it was such a good night with great drinks to a great venue. One of the male bartenders were amazing on making drinks to my choice! 3 stars though because towards the end of our night i just had 3 beers and 1 shot and i was there for over 3 hours and well i'm going to get WATER and the lady comes up to me and asks for me to step outside i said okay because it was my first time there next thing i know they don't wanna serve me anymore? i had everything inside with no way to get to it. Jason and the other gentleman working outside were so sweet and helpful with helping me find my family! thank you for such a great night!

  • Mariana-Rae Garcia

Security is very rude! My first time there and my last!! I feel as if I was singled out of the large group I was with. A male security asked me to step outside with him and I did refuse as a single female, I didn’t know him and I was uncomfortable. So he called 2 more male security guards with him and I made it clear that I wasn’t going to talk with them outside. I asked what the issue was and what I have done and all they said was “We’ll tell you outside.” I was uncomfortable with that so they brought a female guard and she was extremely rude with me as well. If you want to have a good time I HIGHLY don’t recommend this bar. Boots and Burbon is a safe and fun environment and I suggest them over this place.

My perspective on this place is fantastic, the only thought about concerts are chaotic, a lot of us pay to also enjoy a dance space, when people clutter onto the dance floor, making it tough, I think if they want to be on the floor like that, part of that should be cut off for the dancers and make the price higher for those that want to be in the front, controlling the crowd. Knowing that is the only time alcohol can be permitted on the dance floor, but any other night it’s prohibited. I think there should be a better crowd control when concerts happen. Other than that I don’t have anything against DB I love this place it’s my passion, dancing and learning is my way of comfort.

This establishment is horrid! Not only is it always so crowded you can barely move but the security staff are just awful and feel like they can treat people disrespectfully. Is it necessary to use profanity as a professional on the job Should the security team be allowed to call patrons, that are making the owners profits by the way, obscene names and man handle people? This behavior by the “good ol boy” system fostered at this establishment is appalling! They should definitely be put out of business for the numerous safety violations that I witnessed. Instead of security fostering a safe environment, they instigate and try to create problems and fighting! DO NOT VISIT THIS ATROCIOUS RACIST PLACE!!!!!!!

  • Sean Standiford

I love this place, one of my favorites in Albuquerque. The only reason it's not 5 stars is that the live band is just too loud. Being on the dance floor, it's so loud your ears will physically hurt; and I'm a young person who loves going to loud concerts and blasting music in the car, but this was just TOO loud. The volume when they play music is awesome, but the bands play so loud I hate them automatically, depsite the fact that they're pretty talented. Bring cash when you go, they have excellent cash only door prices on drinks. Pros: Good drink specials ($2.50 well drinks before 10PM some nights) Pretty girls Large crowd Roomy dance floor Smoking area out back Cons: Music is way too loud!

  • Jolene Rael-Baca

Honestly seriously disappointed. I paid the $100 fee for a table and my table was surrounded by security waiting for someone to do something wrong. And sure enough yes we had one friend who had too much but she was drinking water and we were kicked out. Security response : I don't like the way she's talking to me. No communication from management at all. This is unacceptable and not okay. I completely understand rules and policies however when they are enforced violently and in a manner of harassment that is absolutely not okay. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! AND ALWAYS WATCH YOUR BACK. Really unfortunate because the band was amazing!! And the bartenders were amazing especially Amanda!

2nd time I’ve had a bad experience. I’ll never go back. Took my friend to check it out. After 20 minutes, we were asked to leave. We had no idea what for. This was already after we payed their cover and our first couple drinks. When asked why they wouldn’t tell us. When I asked to close my tab they made a remark saying we could close out check or be charged a 30 percent extra charge on top of that. The entire time we were confused. My friend was blown away. If we had done anything we were confused. They really need to get new bouncers who treat people with respect. These guys should have stayed closed after the pandemic.

After getting my parents excited to go to this place to go dancing they were rejected because they weren't carrying their passports despite the fact they had their Australian drivers license which is accepted internationally by every car rental and any other place on the planet. We were told to leave because of "policy". What really is their policy? To prove that 70 year olds are faking their identifications. Forget about this place, not sure what kind of discrimination this was but it was truly unpleasant to see my parents rejected because of "policy." pretty dirty policy to me.

One of the bouncers was very rude to a friend of mine and I. We were there for s class reunion and he told us in a rude way that if we went outside we would have to pay to get back inside. The other bouncer had to correct him and told him we were with the reunion party. He didn't even bother to say he was sorry or anything. Other than that the place was great. I wish I would have gotten the bartender's name because he was awesome. He knew what I wanted (I wasn't drinking alcohol) and he would get it for me. The food was really good.

We loved this place on Thursday ladies night! $5 cover for my bf and free for me. Happy hour was still going on with $4 rail liquor + mixer. The music starts with traditional country and older people on the dance floor. As the night went on, it transitioned more to pop country and pop music like the electric slide/cupid shuffle/etc. It was such a fun time with plenty of sitting room around the dance floor! If you're from out of state like me, girls generally wear jean shorts/pants with boots and spaghetti strap/tank tops :) this will be our first stop when we come back to New Mexico!!

  • cayla vigil

You don’t have to be rude to ensure your business is following the rules. The staff has bad power trippin issues. Rules that aren’t even a part of NM liquor laws or business guidelines are enforced for whom they pick and choose. Ive been kicked out for leaning against the railing. I was sober but my feet hurt. if I’m in line talking to someone on the patio over the fence, it’s against the rules. I’ve written a bad review before but deleted because i thought this place redeemed itself. This place has potential to be the best but the staff ruins its own reputation.

  • Julie

This was the worse place I have ever gone too!!i was treated so rude!! Due too triple seven at isleta casino being to packed we decided to try somewhere new to dance. I have bad feet but I love to dance my husband doesn’t drink at all. We were kicked out saying I was to intoxicated!! Two shots!!! Just because I use my husband to help me walk right! We didn’t cause a scene or do anything to deserve the way they treated us!! I will never be back!! To bad for this place I spend money and mind my own business!! Triple seven is so much nicer of a place anyways!!

  • Stephanie Shiriaev

If 0 could be given it would. Talk about racial profiling at its best. Observing an interracial couple then taking someone who is 100%sober and not the same color as others in the establishment outside to “check” them yet leaving those that are 100% intoxicated inside. If you look like an out of towner or are in an interracial relationship…you will get profiled like no other. The security walks around and acts like they are vigilantes. But on the bright side of things, we were able to see a PPV Fight for free outside the establishment after closing…#SKODAN

  • Jane Rubi

We were there on a Wednesday night and it was basically empty with the exception of numerous older couples enjoying the country music and dancing without large chaotic crowds. Even though it was empty the staff from the guys checking Id to the bartenders still made it fun. They invited us back for ladies night! The environment itself was EXTREMELY clean and has the country western feel which being in Albuquerque is pretty cool! It's just a fun place to go and let loose enjoy the music and very very inexpensive from cover fees to drinks.

I stood in line forever at the great big bar with all the fancy booze, order a Knob Creek Manhatten and they don't have "the stuff" (vermouth and bitters). They send me over to the other bar where I had to pay $16 + tip. Then, my wife wanted to order food. She had to scan a Qr code. The site was messed up and it took her 1/2 hour, with help from staff to order Buffalo wings. My friend wanted a cup of water in the cup she already had. They only sell bottles. This place is a hassle

extremely racist! Group of african americans who weren’t aloud in the club for claims of a member being too drunk. I spoke kindly to security and manager who both were very sarcastic toned and rude to me. I felt belittled and disgusted and am a fair judge, and my judgement was nothing less than sheer racism . When I said i’d leave a review owner giggled and said she did not care! Horrible experience. Security threatened for me to calm down “or else” when I wasn’t disrespecting him I was just merely trying to get clarity.

If you love country music, good liquor, great atmosphere and great service this is the best place in town. Great vibes always! The security guards here are some of the best people I've ever met and are definitely looking out for your wellbeing. The bartenders are so friendly and although they get really busy are always tending to you , and are very friendly! I come to this place at least once a week and it never disappoints. If you are new to town and want to have some fun check out DB.

  • Melissa A

This place is fun if your in albuquerque. The bad things about this place is the bathrooms being so tiny, on a weekend expect to wait in a line that stretches out of the bathroom doors. They need to update their country Playlist. They play the same mainstream country songs every weekend or maybe everyday. Also go early to find parking and to avoid the annoying long line to get it. I think they should move this place into a bigger building that can handle the parking and people.

  • Pam Champagne

The patrons are friendly, fun & fun as f**k! The band is terrific. The waitstaff is awesome; friendly & attentive. The atmosphere was one of energy, fun, and enjoyment. The dancing was great to be doing and watching. The pool table was taken up. Cover charge: $5. A shot, soda or beer: $5. Ten bucks covered me for the night. note that the (women's) bathroom was clean and neat. And the smoking area in the back has heaters and plenty of room to social distance.

  • V Gonzales

This place is really fun, especially if you like live country music. The dance floor is spacious for all the people that go there on the weekends. If you're a young straight person 21-35, there is quite a lot of single people to meet and dance with. The cover charge is decent for the live music. One of the best night clubs in Albuquerque for the young folk, but certainly older people will find it fun to dance and listen to live music there.

  • Sharon Kale

Great place to get some C&W dancing in. I love line dancing and attempting to swing dance but I don't listen to much Country music, don't drive a pick up and don't wear Western clothes so I wondered if I'd feel out of place. No problem - it's a friendly and welcoming crowd and Friday night line dancing lessons are great. The Saturday swing lessons are also good. The place is clean, the drinks are very reasonable and the folks are nice.

  • Tina John

I'm from Farmington. When I'm in Abq for the weekend I always plan to go to DB. It's too bad my friends from Jemez can't go in. DB should have a second chance for ppl like my friends. They are the ones who introduced DB to me. I've went to Isleta Triple 7, don't like it, too snooty for me. The Downs is okay BUT not DM. The place is down home welcoming place I love to go. It's a 5 star place I always talk about. Thank you! Tina.

  • Kristen Archibeque

THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. THE BOUNCERS ARE AN EVEN BIGGER JOKE! I should have read the reviews before wasting my time. Didn’t get let in because we threw away an empty beer bottle before walking up to their entrance. We literally had one beer beforehand and had zero signs of being drunk but apparently the bouncer can just assume you’re drunk and not let you in?! READ THE LOW RATED REVIEWS BEFORE SUPPORTING THIS DUMP.

  • Yoruichi Soifon

It’s a shame that this is the only country bar in all of Albuquerque, you have a bunch of but nothing rude power trip bouncers. They will kick you out for the littlest of thing's that don’t make sense even if you haven’t drank!!!! It was not like this 4-6 years ago I would recommend just avoiding this place the only positive thing I have to say bout it is there bartenders they’re always so nice and attentive

  • Marco S

I've been here mainly for the live music and the country dancing! Great location to meet new people and enjoy a nice atmosphere. Really appreciated to be checked at the entrance from security and felt the whole event safe. The band was engaging and everyone had a good time dancing on the dancefloor. Recommended location for country music and dancing in the Albuquerque area!

They kicked my friend out for ordering water; he was our DD. Such a weird and unprofessional concept. Edit: even their reply is unprofessional, instead of believing that they might have a bad apple among their staff, they immediately resort to calling me and my friend a liar. They said no one has ever been kicked out for asking for water, but I witnessed it happening to my friend.

  • Keno Kiehne

Absolutely my favorite bar in Albuquerque, a lot of the negative reviews, are the reason I hate going to other bars in Albuquerque (especially downtown) they let you drink and have fun, but by doing it responsibly, and not by letting you get out of hand and be disrespectful to others. I recommend to everybody that comes out of town to go to this bar because of the environment.

  • Estevan Roybal

Nice bar and environment, but they kick you out and don’t tell you why. Came to the reviews to see why they are kicking people out. Turns out if your intoxicated you get kicked out? What’s the point of having a country bar if you can’t get drunk and have a good time? At least a warning before getting kicked out would be nice. Would probably save you a lot of bad reviews.

  • Crista Long

I been going to Dirty bourbon on and off for 10 years, This last lady's night was so weird. There was alot more line dancing and Every time they started to line dancing wridos with there phones would start recording the dance floor. They would be walking around In the way of people trying to dance. Very strange. My group felt uncomfortable watching them recording.

  • Paola Castillo

I have been here time and time again and every time, a disappointment. I’ve been giving this place a chance for over 12 years. Power trip to the max. Don’t go here if you’re speaking Spanish and you’re buzzed. You might just get kicked out for asking for a drink on your Birthday. 5 out of 5. World record.

Was there Thursday with Friends to celebrate a birthday. The staff was super nice friendly and attentive. We were surprised by a live country band, they too made sure that everyone on the Dancefloor was having a good time. There was an extensively mixed group, from young to old and every ethnicity appeared to be having a great time. Great job owners and staff!!!

This place is garbage. The staff is always in a bad mood and they give attitude to everybody. Good news:they dont discriminate theyll treat every shape and color like trash with a smile. Miserable nobodies working here at the the good ol strip mall. No wonder this place is empty half the time. dont come here. Youll find cheaper drinks and happier staff ANYWHERE.

  • Danielle Pixley

This establishment won't allow backpack style purses inside which is absolutely ridiculous!!! Security not only searched my bag at the entrance, which I understand, but they tried making me leave my $200 bag at the front door ON THE FLOOR outside? I ended up going downtown to Bourbon and Boots, much better service. I will NEVER spend a dime at Dirty Bourbon!

Really cool place but they should make their rules more obvious rather than immediately kicking people out without a warning. How can someone know they did something against the club’s rule if the only rule sign they have is being blocked by security or to small to notice.

Honestly use to love dirty bourbon until last ladies night worst service from security. Not only cowboys and white people want to go there. Dress code applies to those who they want to apply it to. It was some of my friends First time some turned around at the door other while inside and they couldnt give a reason why! Wont be going back so disappointed!

  • Michael Mcgranahan

The bouncers take their job way too serious and don't allow others around them to have fun. But the worst is the management. They do not have any loyalty to anyone. They treat the people who have spent a lot of money over the years and never caused any problems like crapand with no respect at all. I do not recommend this bar as a place to have fun.

  • Quenton Fuller

If you're looking for a place where you have to explain what your drink is so they can skim and make it without even a full ounce of alcohol in it, then be told you can bump the $9 up to $12 if you'd like a double; this is your spot. Unprofessional, dishonest, unknowledgable, and extremely unpleasant when you corre t them on your own order.

  • Oswaldo Lujan

Drove down from Santa Fe, to be told my green card isn’t an acceptable firm of id. Excuse me, WHAT?! A green card is a government issued id so maybe the staff member should call and share that with the government as clearly they the government are doing something wrong. Incredibly racist and rude staff. BOYCOTT Complete waste of my time.

  • Logan Whitney

Drinks were cheap, vand was good, lots of people dancing. Overall a really good time. I am not usually one to hangout at country bars despeite having grown up in the Midwest, but the lively atmosphere and mixed crowd was nice. Can be loud, but it's what you'd expect for this kind of thing. Dance lessons on Saturday bare a nice plus.

  • Kat Peter

I love the DB! Been there five times and had so much fun! I will definitely be going back. The bands are awesome, the beer is good, it's really popular, and the place is really clean ;) I also heard that they will order you food and have it delivered to the front if you really want it (not sure if this is true).

  • Devyn

No bull! I went to celebrate my birthday and was looking forward to riding the bull. Even though they've got pictures online of the bull and there's signage in the bar talking about pricing and rules for the bull, apparently they haven't had one in a while. Really disappointing :( My drink was good though!

  • Marbeya Duran

It was great. I ordered a mixed drink Don Julio with Red Bull of course I got more ice than liquid for $10. The place was very packed and it was hot but if you want to have a good time you can have a good time I did not go for more drinks that line was very long it took me 30 minutes for glass of water.

  • Brad Villa

Country Western saloon. Plenty of Dancing and good music. The staff is friendly and sociable. Overall the staff is top notch! This place is fun for two step dancing and learning how to dance. If your wanting to play shuffle board or pool they don't have a lot but some. Overall awesome atmosphere! :)

  • Jonna L

Went to watch will banister. Busy place, good variety of drinks, good sized dance floor, clean bathroom. Not enough tables with places to sit on a busy night. Bartenders were ok, took a while to even be seen sitting in a stool at the bar and only had 1 drink because of it. Pretty mellow atmosphere.

  • Dominic Pritzl

When they are too busy they kick out random people to get to a number they think is reasonable. Me and my friends went there last night and after I had 1 beer me and a friend where taken outside and told that we where to drunk to serve. I had 1 beer. Security is crazy here. Not worth the cover.

  • Greg G

It has a club style outdoor line at night which kinda sucks during winter. It's definitely a party bar and more lively. Spacious dance floor with live music on weekends. Bar service was quick and easy to access. Not terribly expensive but expect to spend money on cover and drinks.

  • Jackie Kelly

We come here every year for our HS reunion. Its not my favorite dance hall but we get what we can. The live bands are pretty decent but they play way too many slow jams at the start of the night.

This is a great place for two stepping, however a bad place for meeting people! The music during the concerts and at times is so loud that you can talk into a persons ear on the dance floor and they can't hear a word you say and you cannot communicate with them. It is horrible!

  • Liz G

Great place to go out dancing! Sitting is limited so you have to show up when they open to grab a table or you're stuck standing all night. There is always a cover charge and once you're in you're not allowed out. Thankfully, bathroom is always clean. There's a few pool tables.

  • Tonya McAlexander

Burgers were good. Drinks even better. Atmosphere on point. It was enjoyable experience. However, service was off to a slow start and not necessarily reliable. A lot of things were happening at one time and our apps came out after our meal came. We will be back!

  • Vincent Montoya

Great place to get your two step on! Thursdays are packed but fun, and Friday and Saturday are worth putting your boots on for sure. Go early to grab a table if you want one. Great crowd and shenanigan free. No bites? No problem. Come as you are, you're welcome.

  • Blake Hubbatd

Security is super tough seen a security guard a guy(rent a cop ) . Act like a super cop and push a lady down she was asking to speak to a manager . Was uncalled for . They're all fake cowboys and want to provoke a situation . Depends on the weekend you go .

  • Alyssa Wilson

Mediocre place with generic drinks, nothing special. Most of their food is fried and easy. They just need to work on their concert set ups and execution. Lastly, parking sucks if it's a crowded night.

Trash music from the 70s and 80s. They don't play anything from the last 2 decades and get mad if you ask. This place has lots of potential but it's being mismanaged into the ground. And what's with the female bartender's "uniforms"? This is 2022. Gross.

  • James Hartsell

What a neat, fun little honky tonk, tucked away in the corner. The female bartenders are dressed as old time saloon girls, and the guys are dressed as old time barkeeps. Fun atmosphere, great live band, and ice cold beer. What more could you ask for?

  • Nate Haslett

I don't like country music but my group had a get-together there. I guess it was okay but the drink service was a little slow. Everyone was nice though. I will be back if I need to hit otherwise maybe not. Probably should have given 4 stars.....

  • Kim Lewis

This place kicked us (and other out) for literally no reason. We spent more time outside smoking then we did drinking and were still asked to leave. Thankfully the security guards were nice but I’m appalled that a place like DB kicks people

  • Matthew Marquez

Place would be much better if they had Modelo, or Cerveza from Marble, or at least some kind of Mexican beer. Dos Equis doesn’t even cut it! Dos Equis Amber would be ok but damn, something! Come on get with the program! Modelo is Everywhere!

  • tcastil83

I paid $100 for VIP and we had no waitresses and had to kick people out of the area more than 3 times, the rude "waitresses" would only come over to clear the tables of empty cups and bottles, when we would try to order drinks she would act

  • Sage Rose

Terrible venue. Extremely Overpriced drinks, the atmosphere is not inviting. Went there to see a friends' band perform, at the end of their set they cut the power to their equipment and didnt even give them the opportunity to thank everyone

  • C T

Dishonest business practices. Careful with your credit card!!! Bartenders will “forget” to return your card to you when you sign your receipt. (My friend had to ask for her card back). Multiple charges showed up on her account the next day.

  • Marissa Chavez

Really lame clientele and bad staff. Went here on a Friday night and the staff checked our ID before we were allowed inside and right after we bought drinks and they checked our IDs again; which I feel is very redundant. If you are a local

  • Vanny Tee

I gave this rating back in march. I just got done reading the ones below me. I’m African American and I had NO problems here whatsoever. Everyone from employees to guests treated me with kindness and respect. Just thought I would add this.

  • Billy Morse

I have been to country bars and dance clubs all over Texas and Oklahoma, but I find that the Dirty Bourbon is one of the best. The drink specials are especially alluring and there is always a good variety of music played here. In addition

  • Adam Vigil

This place does not care about customer service. Make sure your on the bouncers good side or you won’t get in. Boots and bourbon is a much better atmosphere they are kind and welcoming dirty bourbon had a very hostile environment….

  • jill dema

Very disappointed They wait for you to pay a cover charge and then kick you out if you order water! We live in a desert, I can't stay hydrated? They also discriminate against anyone who is not white. I have seen it over and over.

  • Drew Einhorn

Great venue. Great dance floor. Great place to see a great band. Strict enforcement liquor laws. Don't forget your id! You won't get in! I prefer the AMP Concerts shows @ DB. I've never seen AMP Concerts book a bad show anywhere.

  • John R. Eisenberger

Friday July 9, 2021 Todd Howell band was outstanding. Bartenders super friendly, rest of the staff extremely rude. Please please leave my drinks alone...if you set your drink down to dance they take it!!!! Very disappointed

  • Lauren P

Barstaff, security and management are all very accommodating and friendly. Great drink prices and live bands are always good. Does get busy so if you want a table, come early. Always a great night at Dirty Bourbon!

  • Dana Wyss

Very friendly staff and patrons, good prices on drinks, lots of dance partners willing to get out on the floor. The dance floor would be packed for the line dances, but plenty of room to spin and twirl otherwise.

  • joe gomez

Good music an vibes environment is friendly bartenders have no idea what's going on as far as drinks it's supposed to be 2 per a person halfway through the nite one per person worker's in front say 2 per person

  • Evan Sedillo

Security staff is trying to compensate for something. They remove someone for being intoxicated yet over serve the whole establishment. A group of men who try to be something more then they are, losers.

  • Beau Hightower

Best nightlife venue in Albuquerque, live music is fantastic, clean and safe, and the owners Mark and Kyle are amazing stand up guys. Definitely check this place out when you come to Albuquerque!

  • Leonard Padilla

On 7/16 the band played slow music and old music. Was not fun at all. The last time I went was in 5/24. The band that day was amazing they played fast and good music. But the bar was really good.

  • Natalie Spasic

This place has good energy and Good Vibes and it's always packed no matter what day of the week. People are very nice there it's like everybody is neighborhood friendly. Bartenders do a great job

The live band was great. The staff was on top of clearing empties from the tables. A fight broke out and was quickly taken care of by the bouncers. Overall a good experience.

Love this place! Live bands every weekend, amazing environment, and phenomenal bartenders! Never felt so safe and perfect place to have a great and fun night! Must go!

  • Pride Tax Service

It's a meat market. The band was good. No control over alcohol. Saw several people inebriated beyond means. Crowded. Last time will go unless Loaded plays again.

  • Chriss N

Security needs work. Hope they have something else going for them other than this dead end job.

Very nice place, staff is friendly, drinks are not that expensive, and the environment definitely lives up to the reputation of the country theme

  • REBECCA “SMILY5200” WILHELMSEN

Great place they had a swing/jazz band and Hillary Smith. I enjoyed myself. They didn't serve food, we had food delivered. Drinks were reasonable

  • Dalton Roberts

Great hangout, but disappointed they stopped allowing you to order Doordash since they started serving reheated Wisepies pizza after 8pm. …
