Bistro had good food I enjoyed, got the parmi, chips & salad, decent size, couldn’t finish it as full and satisfied. I’m taking 2 stars off due to pokies room, that is where I always end up losing. Have only ever won a couple of 300 - 600 jackpots in beginning when I moved to Tas, approx 8 years ago, nothing since and as a regular that is bad. I am at a financial loss from The Club. Also, this venue is the only one in Tas I’ve been to without a decent free coffee machine for patrons. They only have hot boiled water, you make your own International Roast Coffee Sachets and that disgusting long life milk in small pods they provide. If you want them to make you a better one from their coffee machine, you’ll be charged 4.50. This is really unfair conditions considering the amount of money I and others have lost. On a ratio, maybe 1-2% people will get a decent return (you’ll always see one or two in the full house being ahead of what they started with which causes envy for everyone else because the other 98 - 99% people will lose lots. I’m planning to quit pokies because I feel like it’s all rigged and only designed for high rollers who will ultimately lose anyway. In quitting the pokies means I’ll be quitting the dinning area too, I will have no interest in visiting The Club ever again

Very disappointing. Food flavourless and overcooked to the extent that it resemled nursing home cuisine, dirty drinking glasses with lipstick marks and unspeakable filth in the laboratory. Front of house disorganized, forgot my order and left myself and my husband waiting for a long period of time with no apology or curtesy unfortunately, also couldn't remember what IS or ISN'T available on the menu, then to top it off our ’vegetable plate’, costing at $12 was a very small (one cup) bowl of grey mushy vegetables. I understand if the venue was busy and not everything in hospitality can be perfect, but the restaurant was dead quiet. Therefore no exception to this incompetence. On the bright side, one of the front if house showed excellent customer service whilst serving myself and my sister. I feel sorry for the poor owner or the general public that experience the Club Hotel establishment. Hopefully there will be improvement! One star is generous

Dunno about this place. Food was kinda like hospital food. The bistro is like a big food hall, although it was no where near full. Plus it was really bright and white walls. Not much atmosphere. Had to finish off my families leftovers, cos I felt bad. And then they wanted to get some food on the way home. Not a good sign. I reckon buying beer in a can would’ve been a better choice than the tap too. However, I loved the Aussie only music on rotation playing in the background. And the family playing pool in the front bar where representing Glenorchy for sure. Definitely someone called Sharon amongst that group. So Aussie. I’m sure certain families go here every week for dinner. Then have a bit of a poke in the pokies room. We probably won't be though. Would be hard to convince the my family that's for sure. I wonder what this place was like before it was “done up”...or “done over”?

Poor service, average meals. When I went to complain that some people on the table had finished their meals while others were still waiting, the manager was quick to dismiss me stating the orders were on separate dockets. When I asked how that explained my husband and children all getting and eating their meals while I was still waiting, she didn’t say anything except what did you order and I’ll go see in the kitchen. No apology, or any kind of care factor (and I had been polite when speaking with her so it wasn’t due to that). 3 out of the 4 staff looked like they’d rather be anywhere else the whole night, coupled with average food and haphazard service, definitely won’t be going back.

This review is specifically for the counter meal experience at the Club Hotel. While price is amazing not much else is really. Meals are obviously cooked with price, quantity and ease of portioning in mind. The atmosphere is one less of a pub dining experience and more of a mess hall or cafeteria. Seating is jammed in to maximize profits tables and chairs are obviously very cheap, you certainly start to feel it in the rump when you are waiting forever for your meal. Over all the old motto "you get what you pay for" rings true here, if you are out to fill a hole with some palatable food on a budget look no further.

Way over priced normal menu good specials but rude customer service I had to go ask for kids drinks that come with the meal then the guy looked at me funny when I asked for them food was over cooked and burnt and must have been why the 40 minute wait or longer for meals plates weren't collected for ages plates left outside the kitchen door from the while night like 50 plates only takes 1 to fall off and hit a bystander underneath kids play thing werent all working and over priced $1 for a 20c piece of gum. Wont be planning another dinner there any time soon

For the past 3 years I have organised a family Christmas lunch each Dec. For approx 30 people. Never again. A few weeks ago we had our lunch. The pork was dry and tough. The xmas pudding was 'stringy' and unpalatable. Piece of ham steak, not sliced ham. Beer was flat. My partner had a Texas burger. One dry meat burger and 3 onion rings in a stale dry bun. No bacon or salad or anything else. He could not eat it. Children lost their money in machines that didn't work. Very disappointing.

I'm giving this one star for many reasons... The staff were about as arrogant and rude as they come, with exceptions to the waitress that was working the floor, clearly the only person that has any manners at all. Secondly the meal was one of the worst I have had in a long time, and last but probably my biggest peeve for the day was that my meal came with a pint, now as I was driving I asked could I have a small lemonade instead and was actually told NO.. awesome customer service.. NOT. will not be visiting again, nor will I recommend.

Met up with a large group of army mates and their partners, the food was great, and the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. It's definitely worth a visit

Chicken Mignon was delicious. Had a flutter on KENO and won small amount. Nice way to have birthday dinner with family :)

Quite disappointed. Ordered 2 chicken mignons. After a 45 min wait (not informed it takes 35 to cook), we received our meals. The menu described it as Chicken Beast stuffed with garlic butter and wrapped in bacon. What arrived had not even a hint of garlic & was so dry it was inedible. The salad consisted of shreaded lettuce, a couple of tomato pieces and a couple of cucumber pieces. I know the staff were pressed due to an earlier fire alarm but it was well below the standard I have had here before.

my wife and I for years have been going to the club hotel for lunch and a beer yesterday we went for lunch i ordered the 300 gram rump when it came no joke it was like a lump of gravy beef and it was just as tough i had a bit and sent it back i said i ordered a steak rare to medium the waitress said the cook said cut it in half you will find it rare to medium it was to tough so i left it and left the hotel never to return if you do go there don't have the steak until they change the cook

Incredibly disappointed. I ordered the Oven Baked Blue Eye which looked delicious when it arrived but unfortunately it was uncooked in the middle and barely luke warm. I told the waitress but the chef refused to do anything about it. Sorry but fish should not be difficult to cut through or barely warm. Kudos to the waitress who talked to her manager and gave me a free drink. Will never go back!

A nice modern venue with easy parking, lots of room, and plenty of options on the menu. Steaks were cooked perfectly, and spaghetti bolognese went down well for both kids and adults. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was well priced and quick to arrive. Overall a very good experience.

This was the first time that we have been to that club hotel in Glenorchy. The Club itself was very roomy. However, the lights failed constantly all the time, and although the service was friendly the food was overcooked. We had chicken backed in cheese. The chicken was extremely dry plus there was only one Cab Sauvignon available, no other choices in that category.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Vegetarian options not clearly displayed which was a slight inconvenience however wait staff were able to provide options on asking. No loud music was great, could easily hear conversations. Gambling areas were discreetly tucked away and not prominent which was nice as it didn't detract from the dining. Nice place, would go again.

Great value meals reasonably priced, huge dining area, very friendly staff and nice big pokies room .

Went to the club hotel for dinner twice in around 3 months , BOTH times the meals were very very average... Over a 1 hour wait for our meals which where just chicken parmys (small, tough over cooked) Our most recent visit we had 9 children with us who got all their meals within around 20 minutes and then 45 minutes later our chicken parmys came out.

I had mixed grill was very nice in particular the steak was tender. Highly impressed. Highly recommended. My wife had fish & chips

Visited from Melbourne and took my mother and sister out for lunch, my Mothers meal was ok but unfortunately for me I had the Roast of the day and the meat was lukewarm and the vegetables over cooked and cold and my sisters Steak wasn't great either, plenty of parking, friendly staff but need to look closer at the food aspect.

Wont go back. 2 kids meals bought out 20 mins before 3 other kids meals. 1 kids ckicken snitzel raw in the middle!!! Apparently after complaining its called a bloodline in the middle...they did cook another 1 without bloodline **** adults meals well...5 adults finished meals before 3 adult meals appeared.

Absolutely disgraceful! Dry , unappealing and after sending back the first 'blue eye fish" the second was even worse... like a heavy brick..would have enjoyed a dry weetbix more than this. $90 later, we left starving hungry, takeaway for all...never going back and wouldn't feed to the dog

Very disappointed with quality of meals. Garlic pizza was over oily. Spag bol was bland and watery. Meal was ordered as parmi with veg, and a side of chips, but came as parmi with chips (no salad) and side of veg. Vegs were tepid and oily. Won't be heading back in near future.

Went with my mum and dad. Mum and I had a pork roast which was nice however the crackling was undercooked. Dad had a Beef Parmi which was too tough to eat. For dessert they had cheesecake which had too much gelatin in it giving it an awful texture. And we didn't get refunded.

Great for a value priced meal.. good food. Great staff .

Great staff - friendly and helpful. Inexpensive, simple bar meal (main dining area was full); meals arrived quickly considering how busy they were. Just would have liked more white wine choices - but the bottle we ordered we enjoyed!

My Dads favourite lunch spot on our outings. He religiously has the crumbed scallops and can't sing their praises enough. Highly recommend for a good meal at a good price, friendly staff and a relaxed child friendly dining area.

Great service and didn't have to wait to long and there was a few ppl there as well. Nice environment the only thing that's missing in my opinion is a play equipment for the kids. But yeah i do recommend this place

Terrible terrible experience more then once. Shame on me for returning after the first of many many screw ups. I've had less screw ups and better service at hungry jack's down the road and that's saying something.

Had a great porterhouse here last night, it was cooked to perfection. Veggies could have been a bit better presented but the meal was tasty and good value. Bar staff are nice. Place was very clean. Will come back

Meal wasn't the same as last time I was there, staff usually friendly but there was 3 tables being used and nothing here is your meal so take a while before we will go back.

We had meals there on Sunday and both were inedible, steaks were too tough to eat then to add insult we were offered a free drink as replacement for the meals. DISGUSTING

Good value, choice of 4 x $14 specials with main and dessert. Good size meal, well made pub food. Menu selection also looks like good value for only a couple more dollars

You always see food left on plates and the meals look yuck. Some staff seem to need refreshing on their RSA regulations. Go to Carlyle better meals and way better staff.

The best roast of the day and best value I think I've ever had. Been coming here for 20 years and the steaks can't be beaten.

I mean it's okay. The turkey was surprisingly good, but the portion sizes for the money could be a bit bigger on some meals.
