A small but beautiful arcade tucked away in a corner, it's full of art galleries selling unusual and original modern art. But the real gem in this arcade is the terrarium shop at the far end, it's one of those magical, slightly chaotic emporiums full to the brim with absolute treasues...moss balls, air plants, all manner of glass flasks and containers plus all the plants you need to start a terrarium. There are some very large ready made terrariums which are like miniature cloud forests, if you squint you could imagine yourself inside the jar in a scene from Lord of the Rings...the lush vegetation of New Zealand springs to mind. This shop, (and I'm so sorry, I didn't spot the name) is run by a charming and knowledgeable chap who obviously loves his work . They also stock some carefully curated home wares....I bought a splendid sequined parrot and my son bought some moss. I highly recommend this shop, perhaps don't take dogs or toddlers, this shop is compact and bijou!!

Wow I loved this place. The Shops were so vintage, the floor was so beautifully laid. The staircase at the end was as if you were walking into a massive house. There were shops just on the righthand side open when we went. As a wheelchair user it was disappointing that the toilets were at the top too, but I think with it being an old property I didn't expect anything less. There was loads of room down the corridor between the shops. All the staff in every shop were lovely but none of them beat the lady in the first shop called Jemima (the shop NOT the lady lol) was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. She moved things so I could get through with my Wheelchair, she passed items down so I could have a look at them and even offered to order anything she hadn't got in stock and have it posted to my home address.

Primrose Cafe is great. Other than that I think the arcade website needs updating as currently misleading particularly as one place I wanted to visit seems to have downsized to a smaller unit, only a few items and I don't think two mirrors can be the largest selection in the S. West. Also it needs to be made clear that while the arcade is open on a Tuesday several of the businesses aren't! Obviously people need time off, just be good to be aware which days, we travelled specifically to see Dustbowl Vintage and that and a couple of other shops were closed, so it's obviously a chosen day to close by some unit holders and I think Monday too, so should be mentioned that this could be the case on the website.

A lovely little collection of shops in an old Victorian arcade. They have shops selling everything from cacti, succulents and plants, to old and rare jewellery. However, my favourite shop by far is the Hidden Gem art gallery. This boasts some incredibly rare originals and prints from some of the most famous fine artists and street artists in the world. They have signed Picasso and Banksy prints amongst others, many of whom are local to Bristol.

The Arcade is a place of real charm offering something so different to the multi national shopping areas. Indeed, small as it has a atmosphere that makes it worth walking through even if you know you can only window shop. Parking in the area is not the easiest but then all around the arcade there are wonderful places to have a coffee and cake, the Downs to stroll around, a great independent fruit and veg shop. Something different.

The Clifton Arcade has something for everyone. Arts and crafts, antiques, clothes and more interesting shops. The Hop House is a good pub with a variety of ales. And the cafes are great. Primrose has great food and drinks and the eateries spill out wonderfully onto the pavement creating a great atmosphere. Edpecially with a bit of sunshine.

This wonderful quirky Victorian Arcade was built in 1878. Its cast iron construction typical of Victorian practicality ...it houses little 20 shops, all of which reflect the surroundings, a little eccentric and quirky, with each strangely complimenting the other...it makes for an interesting shopping experience in the heart of Clifton

Amazing place with a lot of unique shops full of character. I popped into a little shop called Sulisa which stocks fossils and minerals and could have spent a small fortune. In the end my wife tempted me away by promising a cooked breakfast in one of the local eating establishments. Definately the highlite of my day

The old Victorian shopping arcade in the heart of Clifton, is nice a place to visit. It maybe on the small side compared with some, but there is a good selection of unusual little shops selling some unusual items. Cool, if only to do a bit of window shopping. A well kept and clean little arcade.

One of my more favourite places in Clifton. Lots of character and little shops to explore. Lovely cafe at the end with plenty more places to eat on the same street. Can be busy at peak meal times but worth a visit if you're checking out the bridge and the area …

Quaint arcade with great shops - art stuff from pictures to sculptures, coffe shop, brides’ dresses, a trendy barber who does kids too… and great architecture and natural lighting in a small space. In the heart of Clifton which is an oasis in the heart of Bristol!

  • r brook

OK little shopping arcade, pretty pricey, but to be expected in Clifton. You'll find lots of weird and wonderful things that you can't live without once you know that they exist! Just take out another mortgage before you visit …

  • Andy Reynolds

A pretty Victorian shopping arcade with a good range of independent shops. A fabulous bookshop, amazing art shop, furniture and antiques shop. At the entrance is the legendary primrose cafe - a real Clifton village institution.

Lovely place, some great art pop ups. It's a bit empty since covid but hopefully it'll fill back up again soon. Great area to walk around! There's a new cocktail bar through the side door which I'm looking forward to going in!

  • San Ya

We were only there for quick drinks. However the food smelled insanely good so we're planning to go back for full experience! Nice space. It was very beautiful inside. Friendly staff. We'll be back to taste your food. …

Having known this arcade since it opened over 20 years ago it's delightful to revisit and to see it matured and with a great offering of boutique stores, the art gallery had some exceptional and unexpected pieces.

  • Isis Rose Bee

Lovely little shops, a few are quite pricey so a lot of people go there just to window shop. I'd recommend the antique store upstairs if you're interested in antiques, and the Primrose Cafe at the entrance …

  • Ishani Abeywardena

I love the gift shops it has. Some shops are magical. You can send hours watching the items. Could find best gift items. Some coffee shops, bridal shops, salons, jewellery shops are there. Worth to visit.

  • Martin Belcher

Good for paddling and finding interesting stones but no sand and careful entry to the sea because of stones and rocks doesn't make it child friendly. Cafe and toilets and no crowds all on the plus side.

  • Jane Berrie

Super Euro-style atmosphere on a sunny day. Lots of coffee shops, inside and out. Sophisticated buzz. Parking in Clifton can be hard. I recommend the 505 bus from Long Ashton Park and Ride.
