(Bad attitude, Hateful Human Being!!!! (Dr.Alanna Patsiokas!!) I went to the hospital a Few Days Ago 10/22/17 with my two-year-old daughter she had a area on her leg that look like a spider bite I took her to the TriStar Children's Hospital ER on Patterson in Nashville,TN and was treated very well by the ER Nurses (Thomas)who was all around amazing!! thanks! w( Dr Allie Evan MD).At first she was diagnose w cellulitis and was sent home with antibiotics the doctors and nurses in the ER I want to give a big thanks to !!! well as the night went on Saturday evening we were called back to the hospital because my daughter had elevated blood cells so we go back to the ER Thomas which was there again he is amazing coach me and my husband made us feel welcome letting us know that everything was going to be okay and that they were going to take care of my daughter she was very very sick temperatures chills vomiting she was not herself !!we get to the Pediatric floor in the upper level of the building third floor and we are placed in a room 3204 to be exact. At first we were accompanied by: knowledgeable, very educated, very compassionate ,welcoming warm nurses!!!! a few really stood out to me Jonelle ,Marinda, and Dyrell (she a girl)these women really enjoyed my daughter as me my husband really enjoyed them for making us feel important while there ;and they were taking care of our daughter. My daughter had Shown positive for a pus pocket in her thigh, which required her to have surgery!! Which is very scary to any mother that has a toddler and feels helpless in a situation like this. Surgery went well she had a fast recovery! we were walk back to the room by the recovery nurse and was accompanied by our floor nurse Jonelle, as she (Recovery Nurse)read the procedure that was taken for my daughter's Health she happened to mention that my daughter had a cultural positive result for MRSA. For any parent or person reading this that is not aware of MRSA it is a souped-up staph infection that can kill an infant! If not treated in time. I had to excuse myself from my daughter's room to take care of personal business and my daughter was accompanied in the room by her father . We had asked the nurse why did she say that my daughter was positive for MRSA and she said that we would have to speak to the doctor on the floor Alanna M Patsiokas) my husband mentioned while I was gone dr. Patsiokas entered the room asking why did we say our daughter had MRSA when the diagnosis was not true!!!! She was very definitive about the situation as I go on to speak to her she was very rude as I asked her a question about my daughter's Health just being a concerned mother who has been through hell the few days prior to this incident I felt very defeated! She was not understanding she was not compassionate she talked to me and my husband as if we were making up our daughters diagnostic and was very just rude I would go on to spell about what else happened but it's just too much to even try to relive again I honestly feel that this Hospital should reevaluate the way doctors treat family when they're going through a hard time it's very understanding that stuff can be stressful but when you're a doctor on a Pediatrics floor it is your job to be compassionate caring and very light-hearted with situations when involving a chop this woman has shown the upmost disrespect a doctor could show another human being I had called the administrated office to make a complaint about her and I was informed by several nurses on that floor that behaviour that she has had with my family is how she deals with other families there for any person who has a child that is sick you want to feel comfortable with the doctor that is treating your child and to allow such nasty human beings to take care of your most precious child is very mind-blowing I hope they reevaluate the doctors that they have working there so that cases like this do not happen again and when somebody is there they treat them like they are their own family and not just a number!

My recommendation is to avoid the Children's hospital at TriStar Centennial Emergency Department if you care for the well-being of your child. Following a sleepless night of our three-month-old vomiting in his sleep and having a temperature creep up, we decided on visiting this Emergency Dept to get him checked out. The staff was pleasant, which gave us a false sense of security. The Dr. was completely dismissive of the fact that we felt he had begun teething and belittled us regarding our opinion. Our regular pediatrician confirmed not two days later that he is definitely teething, which could have contributed to his situation. Furthermore, simply because the Dr. is "unfamiliar" with a situation should not be grounds for invasive testing, especially on an infant. This Dr. ordered a urine sample, which requires catherization for an infant. Being new parents, and sleep deprived, we hesitantly agree to this procedure. Our regular pediatrician was angered upon hearing this, as he states that a UTI is highly unlikely for an infant male unless you introduce something that could cause such…like forcing a catheter. I am mostly angry with myself for allowing potential harm to come to my child, but I am very disappointed with the fact that this Doctor/Staff did not feel the need to explain risks to us at all. Or perhaps they themselves do not know the risks of what they are asking, which is a much scarier thought. I will be contacting the hospital directly regarding my concerns, but hopefully this review can save at least one child & family from going through such an ordeal.

Terrible! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE FOR SURGERY. First of all, the very first person you will encounter will attempt to get you to sign your HIPPA forms via an iPad, BEFPRE READING THEM AND REFUSING TO PRINT THEM OUT PRIOR TO SIGNATURE. She said this was a legal document and we were in no way allowed to alter this document. She instructed that we could sign it, or we would not be having the procedure. That is illegal. Angela needs to be retrained as to the proper legalities of HIPPA. If I do not want my child photographed during her procedure, that is my right. If I do not want my child to be operated on by a student, that is my right! Proceed to the next station, the second floor. Same attitude, different lady. Proceed to the pre-op. The nurses were great. The ONLY saving grace of this hospital. Kelsey was very sweet and great with my daughter. The anesthesiologist arrived and REEKED of cigarette smoke. It was as if we were in the twilight zone. The hospital is very old and dated. We had a procedure at St. Thomas Midtown and I must say it was far better than this. We will not return here if any additional services are needed in this capacity. Totally unacceptable. Please properly train your employees, not only to ensure proper delivery of information, but for overall attitude. I would like to add, we were NOT in the ER. I have no opinions as to that area. The moms in my moms group seem to love the ER. I will be certain to advise all of them how terrible the surgery department seems to be.

Both of my children have been patients of this hospital, and I cannot say enough good things about them. My son had surgery a year ago here when he was 8 months old, and everyone from his surgeon, to the anesthesiologist to the nursing staff was absolutely amazing. Their compassion that they show to not only to the patient, but to their families as well is truly heartfelt and they strive to make your experience there as comfortable and easy as possible. A month ago, our 4 year old daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, and was in Acute Ketoacidosis. I had her transferred by ambulance (where she watched Frozen) from Vanderbilt to the Tri-Star PICU. I couldn't be more pleased again with the level of care and compassion that was delivered to our family from the EMT's that transferred her, to the PICU nurses to the Specialists. They went out of their way to even get us a courtesy room in the hospital, so our family could stay together. Again, a devastating event in our life averted to an educational and caring experience for our daughter. All of our specialists have been transferred to the Tri-Star family now. I love this staff, and I highly recommend this hospital to any family. Thank you, TriStar!

If there were no stars or a negative star, then it would be appropriate to make a ranking selection. My son had an infection, and there he was laying down on the table. A nurse came in and was giving some medicine through the IV. She threw away, into the trash can, one of the syringes that had medicine in it. She thought it was empty and when she realized that it was full and she mistakenly threw it away, she picked it back out of the trash and was about to give to my son. I did not realize it, but my wife saw the whole thing and instantly stopped her, yet she continued to argue with both of us that it was clean and sanitary. We were shocked and instantly asked for the doctors and nurse in charge and reported it. We also reported it to Patient Relations, as the robot who replies to people complaints suggests in these posts. This happened to us A while back and I am just now getting to report this. I felt compelled to report this to the public because something very, very traumatic happened to my family at Vanderbilt in the past couple of days.

Normally this ER is good I have been very impressed. I’ve been there once with a head cut and a couple of times with an ear infection. Today my child had symptoms like he had with strep in the past but was negative but they didn’t test for flu even though I told them there are people out with the flu in his school as we speak. I also requested a retest because the nurse had a hard time getting the sample and I was not sure that they got an accurate sample. They dismissed my concern of that too. Plus I need to add that while waiting for the doctor to come back in I walked around the corner to the bathroom and two mins later got back and she had already did her exam without me in the room ‍♂️. Not a busy day either so why the big rush and lack of through exam. I’m sure insurance will get a whopping bill for the short stay. I was told to call my pediatrician on Monday if not better. Worst ER experience that I can think of.

My 4yr old son just yesterday had an MRI done at your PICU unit. From the RN (I believe her name was Stephanie), to the child life rep, the Anesthesia Dr....everyone was so incredibly amazing to him. This was his first "major" procedure and the first time with anesthesia and they treated my son and us with the most respect and took the time to let him recover on his terms. My have another son who is grown now who used to be seen at Vandy. When my 4yr old was born he had some issues that Vandy simply kept putting off. I transferred his pediatrician to Tristar who put me in touch with a ped Neurologist (whom I love)... and there was been no postponing or putting off of testing or procedures..they got busy with finding the root of my 4yr olds issues and began a course on correcting them. My experience with Tristar children's had been better than I could have ever hoped for.

From beginning to end, the level of dedication, care, and knowledge this hospital has is unmatched. Our 1 month old baby boy had NEC. We stayed at the hospital for 2 weeks. A place that’s typically filled with stress, worry, and fear turned into a place of comfort. We knew our son was in good hands. Everyone from the nurses, practitioners, physicians, dietitians, nursing students, etc were so welcoming, warm, and caring. They truly cared for our son and wanted to see him fully recovered and healthy as quick as they can. All we ever heard was how sweet our son was and how he was such a good baby, but I think our son felt safe in their presence as well. Babies know. Naming each name would do a disservice because it wasn’t just a handful of people, it was a village that took care of our boy. We are forever grateful. Thank you Tristar Centennial.

Nurses are nice, but do not wash or sanitize their hands OR wear gloves when interacting with your child. The room I was put in recently was not nearly as clean as it should have been (hair on floor, dirt stains on floor as if hadn't been mopped. Sink was not clean) therefore, I just decided to hold my baby the entire time. I did not even want to lay him on the bed. Lastly, my toddler was given the wrong dose of medicine! He was given too much, which I was not aware of until I read the discharge papers that listed the correct dosage. When I asked the discharge nurse why he had been given an incorrect dose, she made up an excuse that made no sense at all. This type of mistake could be very harmful to the patient or even deadly!!! BEWARE!!!️

Very small waiting area. No security and people walking in and out, loud and very roudy. I took my daughter because she has a head injury. We were taken back to a room immediately; and waited there for 90 minutes or so. Finally a nurse can in to give my daughter Motrin. She smelled of bowel! It was aweful. Her appearance was not that of a professional. The doctor came in 30 min later. She talked with my daughter felt the knot proceeded with the standard neurological test and said " I don't know if you have a concussion or not, but time will tell and pediatricians are really good with those". She was very nice....but that's not all we look for in a doctor. She got our discharge papers and we left. First and last time there.

I absolutely love this hospital. All hospitals have there horror stories but you cant save everyone. Somethings are beyond them. This hospital is always prompt, loving, educated, attentive, and patient with anyone. If you dont understand or they even think you may not understand, they will make sure to continue to go over it until you do. Or find someone to elaborate better. Your not just dollar signs in their eyes your a real human being and so is your loved one. Theyre going to treat you like your loved one is their own child.EVERYTIME. I cant say enough great things about this hospital. Their A-M-A-Z-I-N-G beyond words.

I am truly blown away by how great the staff was during our trip to the ER and our time that we stayed at the hospital. I took my young baby and the staff was wonderful with him but also they were great to me. They were very supportive and encouraging during a stressful time for any mother and went above and beyond to make sure I had snacks and water. If I needed something as simple as a bottle poured for my son, they were right there ready to help. I am grateful for all of their guidance on the best plan for my son's care and should we need to take him back to an ER, we will absolutely be making the trip to come here!

  • Dawn Cummings

Had my baby at Centennial and my experience here was fantastic. I was scared to death being my first birth and also because I'd never stayed in a hospital before. But the staff was superb before during and after the labor. They are very very attentive and always making sure you are comfortable and feeling ok. The nurse that was there while was in labor stayed past her shift just to see me through the birth. The nurses afterwards were very very sweet and always making sure you are taken care of. Without asking they brought me a huge cup of juice and a sandwich after the long labor! I highly recommend this hospital.

I wouldn't give it a one but had no choice this is the worst experience ever in my life they get in absolutely no hurry I got here yesterday there was a lady waiting to tour the nursery I'm sure she waited for over an hour I ordered my brakfest at 9:18a this morning here it is 10:47a I still haven't received anything to eat as I haven't ate already in 4 days bc I've been so sick I just wana go home this is crazy as hell and apparently they don't understand being pregnant dehydrated and not being able to eat for four days actually is I'm able to eat and still haven't received what I ordered lol joke of a hospital

This is not the place for children with true disabilities or minorities. My son is a patient in pediatric rehab. I was called today and asked not to bring him back because he has a legitimate medical GI issue which I shared multiple times with the therapist who should have already been aware. If I were one of the West End elite they are happy to serve and familiar with, I have no doubt the outcome would be different. Surprise, though I am a humble and modest Muslim who rarely flexes - I am the attorney mother of Muhammad Mustafaa, and you have excluded the wrong child.

We were displaced from Florida in Nashville (staying there to avoid Hurricane Irma) when my 8 year old injured her knee. Ironically the remnants of Irma were hitting Nashville when I had to find somewhere to get my daughter help. Carrying her with my 6 and 4 year old in tow, The Children's Pediatric ER at TriStar Centennial was so good to us, and got us through quickly...didn't complain when my little girls started pushing the wheelchair around the hallway. They were able to X-ray her knee and provide everything needed in one exam room. Everyone was very kind. A big thank you!!!

  • Allie McGrath

We went here after being told that Vanderbilt walk in clinic could not handle our 3 year Old’s finger laceration. It was a wonderful experience from check in to discharge. Everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable! They even had a Child Life Specialist with my son almost the whole time so that he wouldn’t be unnecessarily worried while getting stitches. By the end, he was just happy to have two new teddy bears and a red popsicle. I hope we don’t need the ER again but if we do, I won’t hesitate to go back to centennial.

  • Shanna

I’ve never felt the need to leave a post until now. We will never go to ANY other hospital other than Centennial Children’s for the care of our son!! The entire staff there are absolutely amazing!! All are so caring!! They answered any questions we had and helped not only figure out what was going on with my son but, got him better!! We have to go back for a final procedure and I know they will take good care of Wyatt! Can not thank you ALL enough!! Thank you so much again!! A loving and much less worried mom.

  • Erin Loggins

We are from Birmingham visiting Gaylord, and our four year old son ran into the hotel doorknob. We were so upset to have to make our first ER visit, but these kind folks took such good care of us we had no need to fear! Todd the nurse was great, along with Dr Alley and Dr Jones. We were in and out in just a little over an hour, three stitches later, including the 35 minutes for the lidocaine gel to take effect. Absolutely wonderful experience, take your babies here; you won't regret it! Thank you guys.

I'm so blessed my 13 month old was accepted at tri star childerens hospital she was diagnosed with rsv and was very sick and we had to stay the chriChris Holliday in the hospital but it was very pleasant she got gifts that the hospital gave her for Christmas even my oldest daughter got gifts too the staff were very professional and polite and my daughter Charlie bounce back and is on the road to recovery thanks to all the staff that took care of her rsv is no joke as we found out.

I took my son to centennial children's hospital monday (04/19) and they told me he was fine just had a respiratory infection but they couldnt give him any behind the counter medicine because of his agebut bc he had a cough and fever he was eligible for a covid shot...AT 2. Hell no!! So I take him to his pediatrician today (04/21)and soon as she sees him and hears him cough she said he has Croup and a ear infection. Never going there again.

  • Ben DerisGreat jr

This hospital is terrible and should be avoided at all costs.!!!! The doctors misdiagnosed my child. They have claimed he had hand, foot, mouth disease without running any tests just a brief look. I took my child to an urgent care unit today in Madison and they said he has scarlet fever (they ran tests)!! Luckily he's being treated for it but that's ridiculous that a hospital out of all places misdiagnosed a really sick child. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

  • Katy Snyder

My 10 year old broke her leg in two places on our trampoline. After an absolutely horrible experience at another hospital, I drove her and hour and a half to this hospital every single staff member was top notch! They were so very nice and extremely gentle with my daughter who was in excruciating pain. She had not ate or slept in two days from all the pain. She got the best care that she has ever received from anywhere. Thank you so very much!!

  • Glenny Yanis

My son got admitted to this hospital on the third floor and had to get a procedure done in the OR. His nurse Whitney, the doctors, the anesthesiologist, the nurses in the recovery room, the child life representatives, absolutely everyone we had to deal with was just wonderful. The hospital did not seem busy at the time we got there and during our stay so maybe that was an add on to why everyone was so attentive and helpful.

  • William Lindsey

I can't say enough good about all the staff at Centennial Pediatric ICU, and all the specialized asassociates. The staff to patent ratio is unmatched, and the nurses are so caring, sharp, and reactive. Also, the doctors are immensely knowledgeable, and amazing at communicating what is going on, to us and each other. We have been so blessed to have this group for our son's care throughout everything he's went through.

  • Undead Viking

We live two hours away and where They are acting very rude and disrespectful and did not care about my wife's pain or feelings and stress. When they kept stressing her out and they were accusing my sister of threatening the nurses and my wife of saying racist things that she did not say. When she White and has's five have latin kids and two black best friends and my our baby boy is half native American.

  • Harriett Jameson Brooks

Our toddler had an unfortunate run-in with our coffee table that ended in 5 stitches. As hair-raising as that was, we had a wonderful experience at the pediatric ER at Centennial. Dr. Riley, Nurses Brittany and Todd, and everyone else we encountered were kind, calming, professional, and efficient. I was amazed at how quickly we were admitted and taken care of. Our family is so appreciative!

  • J-Dolla Simmons

Centennial Women's Hospital has the best staff I have experienced of all the different hospitals we have visited during my wife's pregnancy...the staff was excellent before, during and after the labor...everything was like clockwork...I recommend this hospital to anyone..they made us very comfortable...very professional and sincere...the people here love their jobs and that's important..

  • Abby Johnson

We have taken our toddler to the ER twice and we have had great experiences both times. First, there was no wait. We were immediately brought back which is priceless when a concerned parent is worried about their child. Second, the staff were all pleasant and had good bedside demeanor with our daughter. Third, treatment was thorough and completed very quickly.

  • M Keating

Got good care initially in pediatric ER then got treated like cattle. Pinned us in a room for half a day while they waited for transport and refused to let us drive our own daughter 20 minutes to the follow on caregiver. I assume it’s all about them making more money because there isn’t a rational reason to treat your customer/patient this way.

  • Nancy Flores

By far the most EXCELLENT hospital my family has been to. ER staff got us in right away. The nurses and doctor were very caring and helpful. We eventually got admitted and the staff in the pediatric department was also exceptional. Very professional and knowledgeable. We will go back to this hospital if needed. Totally recommend!!!

  • Brooke Gafford

We are from out of town and had to make an emergency visit. My daughter crushed her finger in the door. Super quick to get us to the back! The staff in the ER are amazing. They made my daughter feel comfortable and not afraid. They even gave her a toy after she was so brave after stitches. I highly recommend this place!

  • jay gang

  • Quang Le

My daughter, Abigail Le, had her belly pain very bad. They moved her from Smyrna to here and all the doctors and nurses so nice and good to her . Doctor Morrow, the one did her surgery, so nice and good, he took out her appendix right and her pain gone. I appreciate all doctors and nurses over there !!!!

  • Stephan Dotson

Our 8 year old had to have an appendectomy. From the time we arrived at 4:30am, until we left, everyone was great! Dr. Morrow was great and kept us informed every step of the way. Her night nurse was as good as it gets! Thank you Liz for taking such good care of her! Highly recommended!

  • Dayna Ramay

Sadly I've been here twice in 1 month for my little one. And both times have been a great experience. Everyone from the people in the cafeteria, house keeping and nurses are super friendly. I also like the fact this facility is clean and nice. By the way better than Vanderbilt. A+ CARE!

  • Thompson Fam

Drove an hour away from Fort Campbell Came in tonight with my son who had tested positive for blood in his black tar stool. Since he was acting fine and no other symptoms we were discharged. No blood work to check if anything was going on. I will not be bring my child back here

  • Brooke Conrad

We came in to the ER after my three year old busted her chin open right below her lip. We had the greatest experience we could have. Everyone was SO kind and friendly. She was treated like a princess and this helped her feel comfortable. I am so grateful. Thank you!!!!!!!

  • Dede Bites

High quality healthcare with nurses that love their jobs and patients. First baby born at another local hospital and cannot even come close to the care that I received with my second baby’s birth and both our care! I would highly recommend Centennial Children’s

  • Christine Accetta

I brought my 14 month old son into the ER in the morning for a very high fever. Everyone from the triage nurse to the physician and the registration staff provided kind, attentive, quick, and efficient service and care to my son. Thank you, TriStar Children’s!

  • James Huddleston

Excellent care. Upon my child being admitted, I could see the compassion and care in the eyes of the staff. From triage to staying overnight, these fine people know what they are doing and definitely care about what they are doing.

  • Nadine Webb

Our latest son was born there and was in the NICU for a few weeks. We have had a lot of experience in NICU(S) and we loved all the nurses and doctors at TroStar. We appreciate every thing they did for our son.

  • Nanny Adcox

My personal experience was heart surgery---please pray for my great grandson who is being transported today...Centennial Hospitals are the best for all...great doctors and nurses ....... X

  • Mel

My daughter spent 8 months in the nicu and had the best experience! She has also attended the physical, occupational and speech therapy at this hospital for 4 years and we love the staff!

  • Andrew Hartman

Was discriminated against at this hospital and my 4 year old daughter was turned away, even though she had major injury to her hand along with having a broken arm. WHY.

  • Josh Parker

Highly impressed with the level of care from the staff here at Centennial Children's. Everyone takes a vested interest in your child's healing and wellness.

  • Mary Thomas

Tri-star facilities all are business (money) focused. Patient care is far from the top of their list. Avoid any tri-star facility but especially this one..

  • Arturo Almaguer

So happy with the quick service we had and were so friendly. Got there and quickly got us in a room check her and out the door within 30 minutes.

  • Miguel Gonzales

They don't care about children or your opinion as a parent. If you care about your child and want to been apart in care take them to Vanderbilt.

  • Sarah Skittles

My daughter had to be sedated for a small procedure. They were so sweet to her and kept me calm. Thanks for taking care of my baby girl.
