I will not be booking at this location again nor will be able to refer it I rented a room at Bishop Arts Hotel Blue Lofts from Wednesday, April 5th-Saturday, April 8th. I was very disappointed in my experience and regret booking at this location for my sister-in-law's wedding. I will not be booking at this location again nor will be able to refer it. I feel feedback in important in order to improve. I have emailed the company and their response was that they were sorry for the things I listed and will look into the, and that it was disclosed prior to booking about no housekeeping. Everything pertaining to this hotel is done through text. There is no on-site staff to assist with things. They text you all information needed for check-in as well and if any issues occur, it is through text. You have a code to get in the parking, a different code to enter building, and then a third code to enter your room. There is no cable. Streaming only and you have to login to your own personal streaming as no streaming services are provided. There is not a USB port for charging, so be sure to bring your own in-wall chargers. No housekeeping on-site, so if you need another roll of toilet paper or towel, you have to go get it yourself. The toilet paper and towel holder were both broken and hanging partly off the wall. I was given only two very thin hard bath towels, two wash cloths, and two hand towels and there were small stains on some of the towels. There is no elevator, so caution as far as all that you pack if staying on the second floor because you have to carry it up two flights of stairs. The day of the wedding my door handle feel off. I tried to use it by placing it back on throughout the day and notified the office via text, but they said that due to the Easter holiday, no one would be available to fix it. Later that day the entire insides of the door handle feel out getting black grease all over my hands and I notified via text again that more of the handle had come apart. Their response was just to lock my door. I was not about to do that and risk being permanently locked out and stranded outside the door without my belongings. The rug was so dirty and worn that I rolled it up and put in the closet as I did not feel okay walking on it for the weekend. The top of the writing desk had white worn stains, the couch had stains on both seat cushions, the coffee table book covers were worn and paint was chipped on back of the door and the wall under the window. The two reading lights on either side of the bed did not turn on. The light would make a small flicker, but neither would turn on. Everything is just worn and needs a facelift. I would hope this hotel could continue to succeed, but I see several areas that need improvement to receive re-bookings or referrals from people. I travel a lot for work and stay in all sorts of hotel accommodations within varying price ranges and feel that this is not a place that I can recommend at this time. Do yourself a favor and book at another name brand hotel where you can have the "luxury" of cable, housekeeping, and breakfast. If this was priced exceptionally lower than other hotels, it would make sense, but it is not.

Terrible experience getting into hotel! I had a last minute trip from San Antonio to Dallas which required an overnight stay. I chose a French restaurant in the Bishop Arts District and then a hotel within walking distance -- which was this hotel. My schedule was to leave the next morning at 6:00 AM driving a rental van. I booked through Expedia at about 10:00 PM. I received a confirmation from Expedia within a few minutes. Deal done. Now just go to the hotel and check in. Right? WRONG!! This hotel calls itself 'contactless' -- which is a euphemism for no service. I arrived at the address. The hotel name is not on the building. There is no clear entrance. The entire block is surrounded by a fence or buildings. All doors were locked. After double checking the address and walking around the block, I was able to get into the parking lot as a car left. Then waited at the rear entrance until a family exited. Inside there was an unmanned reception desk -- with a phone number. I called the number. The person that answered was taken aback that I had not read my email which contained four codes -- for the entrance, parking, room, and pool. To him, I was at fault for not knowing the secret codes. Turns out the codes were in an email sent at 12:56 PM that afternoon in a email via Expedia. At that time I was on my way to the Arts District -- with no reason to open an email from Expedia. I had already received a confirmation. The hotel's web site gives no indication that you needed 'secret' codes to get into the hotel. The Expedia confirmation made no reference of the codes or an indication to look for an email containing the required codes. My suite (201) was clean and attractive. Obviously designed by someone with good taste but no knowledge of what is required in a hotel room. For example, my room had no desk or table -- so setting up a PC or eating a takeout meal was not possible. The bed was too high to sit on to tie my shoes. There were chairs -- but they were designed to relax on a patio, not for work. The thermostat was impossible to understand. (You can see room 201 on the hotel's web site.) I never saw any staff. Luckily, I did not need any assistance. I blame these problems on both the Hotel and Expedia. The hotel for not being honest about what to expect and Expedia for not knowing what the hotel was requiring. The make things worse, when I took the 14 minute walk to the French restaurant, it was closed for a week due to COVID.

Points for being in a nice location, but this is just a very strange hotel experience. It's not your typical 3 or 4 star hotel. All interaction with staff is done via email or text. There is no main entrance, instead you need to drive in through a gated lot (marked only with a small sign and key pad) with a code that is mailed to you. A different code is needed to enter the building and a third to enter your room. The locks on the room are a retrofit keypad deadbolt lock which doesn't auto-lock when you enter, so you must remeber to lock it, plus there are other deadbolt locks on the door, so don't accidentally lock that one and lock out your family. In our room there was a refrigerator, but it was hidden away in a closet inside the bathroom which is also where you had to hang your clothes. There are loads of decorative items and furniture to fit a theme (which you aren't told about ahead of time, so if you don't like animal skins, be warned), but no dressers. The shower was nice, but there was no shower door or curtain, so water gets all over the floor. Warning, there is no elevator to access the second floor. There is virtually never staff on site, at least on the weekend. On our last night a large party of people was playing loud music at the pool after midnight and there was no way to contact management. Also, the hotel is apparently next to an appaetment which shares the same pool, so who knows what rules they have there.

Furnshings are all super comfortable, especially that wonderful sofa! The bed was so comfy, and the pillows so perfect it made it difficult to leave to come back home. We forgot our shampoo, but, never fear, there were sample sized toiletries provided! They also have two handicap ♿️ parking spots.
Nearby activities
Very near the Kay Bailey Hutchison Center. Drive your own vehicle or rent a car, if you don't, you will wish you had. Great restaurants (Charco Broiler and Gonzalez Mexican) are nearby, don't miss out!
Safety
Felt very safe, locked and gated parking, locked lobby, locked rooms, we felt very safe. Even out for dinner, we felt safe.
Food & drinks
Free coffee and Tea in the lobby! Also books to read for the insomniacs and early risers.

This place was absolutely amazing? Staff is extremely friendly and available to help at all hours of the night with fast communication. Location is safe and backed with gated parking and pass code locked doors. The room is extremely comfortable and clean! For me, it felt like an extension of home where I was and not troubled by odd smiles or peculiar feelings of furniture. The cleanliness was second to none and created a healthy balance of feeling comfortable at home but still excited being on a mini vacation. The location was not far from downtown and has pretty drives where you can see the skyline when driving into downtown. The environment of the location was quiet and peaceful. Overall, I highly recommend staying here. Originally, I chose here because I had to for my first Airbnb stay, however, it ended up working out for the best and I will definitely be choosing to stay here again for future stays.

We enjoyed our stay for a few hours until we couldn't access the handicapped spaces. The person on duty chose to park in-between the two handicap spaces. If you are not handicapped, you may have done this before, thinking that it's no big deal. The reason that these spaces are so big is to accommodate opening up doors fully for various reasons; including wheelchairs, using the doors as leverage to lift up, etc. When I informed them of the issue I was told to park in a space that didn't allow the passenger side to fully open as it was a space along a wall. Even worse, I was threatened that if I parked outside the lines of said space that I could be towed! All of this because whomever worked daily at the location didn't want to move her/his gigantic truck from in-between the designated handicap spots. Just plain rude.

Check-in process was easy and the room was lovely. There are several things the hotel could do to enhance the experience of staying there. Cable or basic television hook-up was not available which would've been nice instead of being forced to log into one of your TV/movie apps and hope you remember to log out before you leave. There was only one small trashcan in the bathroom instead of their being a few around the room for easy access. No tissues so if you needed to blow your nose you had to use toilet paper or bring your own. No full length mirror so a person could check their appearance before they left. I will say that the bed was incredibly comfortable and we had a good night's rest. This hotel could be great with a few changes.

If I could leave a review with 10 stars I would. I absolutely loved my stay here. When I stay in hotels I prefer not to be fussed with too much, so this hotel is absolutely perfect for me. Easy check-in with clear instructions and a fast response if you’ve got any questions. The room was comfortable and cozy, decorated impeccably. The hotel is quiet, not too busy, and the pool was very relaxing. I extended my stay on very short notice and they were more than accommodating. Overall, I feel like I found a little hidden gem in Bishop Arts and will definitely be returning in the future as I do come to Dallas regularly.

Very little on site staff presence to ensure guests behave and make sure the hotel is safe. Had a couple of girls playing loud music directly under my window. Sent an email (as nobody at site) and addressed them myself after which they became quiet. No breakfast service or drinks. Airco switch lights up when it detects movement (read, every time when I turned in bed). Airco quite loud. Very annoying code locks to enter the room. Multiple attempts needed to enter the room. If you unlock the door from the inside, the door doesn’t lock when the door closes. Bed was OK. Good shower. Nice neighborhood with many nice restaurants and fun shops. Comfortable sofa and nicely decorated rooms. Many books lying around.

I love this hotel. The rooms are each unique and spacious with plenty of character and charm. It's a small boutique hotel in the heart of Bishop Arts with private parking and a small modern, shallow pool. It's great for adults. I actually love the contactless check in and accommodations. The rooms could be cleaner and I would prefer as many fresh towels in the room as nights I'm staying. But fresh towels were available at reception anytime so it's really not a problem. I stay here often, it's the perfect blend of downtown hotel and AirB&B. I will definitely be back.

Disappointing. It was difficult getting in parking gate. 3 different sets of codes before you get in your room. We didn't see 1 single staff member the 2 nights and 3 days we stayed. We had no tissue, no room safe to store valuables, never received maid service. No extra towels, or trash emptied....nothing. The shower needs a door on it. It floods the complete bathroom, and the water doesn't go down the drain. It was extremely dangerous, especially since we had no extra towels to soak up the flooded bathroom. The blanket on the bed was FILTHY! Looked like urine stains on it!!! We will not be back.

  • Jay Burkink

The contactless entry and process was very easy. Communication from the hotel was immediate and consistent throughout the stay. I was concerned based on earlier posts, but I had no issues. I did arrive during the day which helped for sure. Rear parking and entry into the building. Overall great stay. The rugs in the room could have been cleaner. Heated and lit toilet seat was nice for evening, no night light required.

This place is so beautiful. A real hidden gem that deserves far more recognition. All the rooms have different city themes which we thought was the coolest things. want to feel like you're in Singapore? Get a Singapore themed room! And so on. Highly recommend. The staff is extremely friendly, the location is perfectly centralized near all the great places to go to in Bishop Arts and minutes from all the good places to go to in Dallas.

Overall, this property is nice. However, this hotel has no amenities besides coffee. The Bishop Arts is a nice quaint area in Dallas with lots of good restaurants around. My room was okay, while they had a TV, No live television to track the local weather. There is no maid service at this property. Only one small trash can for an entire suite, and one tiny ice machine in the lobby for the entire hotel.

This is the spot to be in!! 4 minute drive to Bishop Arts which is perfect for strolling, shopping, dining and nightlife. The room was nice and clean. We felt secure and safe at all hours, and didn’t have any loud traffic interruptions while we slept. Seriously could not have asked for a better host/spot for my first time in Dallas.

Excellent spot to stay when in the Bishop Arts District. Comfortable rooms at a very good value with Easy check in and attentive service through text messaging - room assignments and access codes are provided ahead of time. Asian worldly feel with City/Region themed rooms. Extensive stock of travel books and comfortable sofas in the lobby area. Great location - only 15 minute walk to the excellent shops and restaurants in the main district.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The room was stylish and comfortable. The pool was great and the location was perfect. They were also very helpful when we realized we left our AirPods in the room and they made sure they grabbed them for us before the room was cleaned. We would definitely stay here again!
