We love it here. Large open space so close to suburbia. Great for a stroll or to exercise. Great views of the bay and over to the city. Lots of birds and wild life. You may be lucky and see a blue tongue lizard sunning itself. Loved the bike repair station great initiative. Bring a picnic or have a bbq at the bbq shelter. More

Beautiful bay views. Nice easy walk, while there are the stairs up one side, the path is pretty smooth round the other side of the loop, so accessible for prams etc. Definitely worth the visit, we wandered around for nearly an hour taking in the view. Several picnickers and bike riders. Great spot to get some fresh air. More

This is a place people would travel miles to see the view. You can see right across Port Phillip Bay, to the Dandonongs. Mount Macdon and a spectacular view of Melbourne city. I am lucky enough to have this on my doorstep. Highly recommended, no tickets required and very accessible. More

Good open view of city, great place to capture city line if you have good camera. 100 steps of federation is not much struggle, so everyone can enjoy. Good parking space. Got snake warning so be careful during hot season.

Really good place for the walk with kids.. And good views of the city from the top. There are few other walking trails available for everyday walks.. The views of the cbd at night are really awesome as well

  • Debi Slinger

Nice part of Altona with lots to see, particularly nice to walk to what is known as Federation Hill. Great views to the city. At the moment a few ‘works’ going on but still worth the walk or cycle around

  • Gary Charman

Great Melbourne and Port Phillip Bay view. Also over the Cheetham Salt Works and the ever expanding western suburbs. There’s picnic facilities at the base and a gradual ascent to the pinnacle (100 steps).

A really nice place to go for an early morning walk with your dogs (on lead only). Wonderful views across the bay with plenty of different tracks to pick to make your walk either short or long. More

Quite beautiful and relaxing open area. Can see the CBD and some coastal scenery but as usual there are fences so visitors are fenced REALLY far away from the coast.
