So me and My friends decided to go to this bar on a SATURDAY night... The place was dead and I was shocked. I ordered a jack on the rocks and basically got a glass with ice. There was a cancer fundraiser going on which I'm sure was one of the reasons for it being a ghost town I'm sorry but if I'm going out trying to have a good time with my friends the last thing I want to think about is cancer. As the night went on my friends got hungry and ordered food 3 of them ordered chicken tenders. My first friend got basically chicken nuggets that looked and tasted like they were heated up in the microwave on top of shredded lettuce. My second friend got chicken tenders a different shape but also looked like they heated it up in a microwave also on top of shredded lettuce. The third friends order got forgotten but when they finally brought it guess what? They were chicken nuggets like the first friend on top of shredded lettuce. They also got fries which looked like they heated them up in a microwave and tasted horrible and on top of that my friend ordered bbq sauce but they all got honey mustard which tasted like it was expired and literally almost made me throw up. As were ready to leave and close out our tabs the waiter brings over ACTUAL CHICKEN TENDERS and says " hey I was told to bring u this on the house" me and my friends were confused. Even though they were actual chicken tenders the tasted very bland. Also when we got the bill it did not show what cost what just the total and the total was way to high for a meal that was worse than what you get in McDonald's. Anyways this place is horrible and is need of a serious bar rescue because its in a great area and on a saturday night it should be packed. Me and my friends will never step foot in this place again.

Usual type of crowded and noisy bars. Near Barklay Center. What was unusual, they are disrespectful to their patrons and biased to the Barklay Center goers. They are scamming clients with the hidden charges even prices of drinks are high enough for this kind of place. Look at my bill and read the management's response to my questions. !!!!!!!! A Martini is a mixed drink that we charge the price for the base liquor used then up charge for it to be a martini as it is more than a standard pour. Our martini glasses aren’t small and we like to fill closer to the top. The top number is the price of you just got a neat of the main liquor. -There is a credit card fee on credit card transactions. Is standard industry wide and posted on several locations around the bar as well as in the menus -we charge a service fee on event nights such as Barclays events. You are welcome to add more and if you feel service in such a busy night wasnt to your likening, You are welcome to speak to the manager on duty. !!!!!!!! I did not order extra liquor to make my drink "looks good" because of establishments wrong glasses, I didn't see any posting about credit card fee (first: they put their own expenses - credit card processing-running the business on you and second: you come to the bar and start immediately looking for credit card fee postersreally ). Also, I feel offended as Barklay Center attendee. By this bar standards I am not as good as local clients . So disgrace .

The WORST experience. Do not go. The new owners are terrible. They clearly do not know how to run a bar and are obviously brand new to the food industry / hospitality business. I have several years of experience in the food industry and can understand the high demands of a busy bar, but there’s absolutely no excuse for the way my friends and I were served. My friends and I were there to enjoy a few beers and some food before a concert at Barclay’s. We got the owner’s attention to try to place an order since it was so busy and there was only one server. First thing she said was “I’m the owner not a waitress and kept walking”. Since the owner couldn’t find her own server the she finally decided to take our order, not before attempting to take the entire by memory before realizing she needed to write it down. After 30-minutes which is a reasonable amount of time to wait we asked the owner if she could check on our food. She said our order was next. COMPLETE LIE. In the end... we NEVER got our food after waiting 1.5 hrs and we came to find out the Owner had never placed the order. She blamed her own server when we had actually ordered from her directly. We only received a 20% discount on our drink tab. The Owner said she was taking off the food - as if doing us a favor - Obviously we wouldn’t expect to be charged for the food that we never even saw. This was a very terrible experience which put a damper on our girl’s night out. We left the bar STARVING and ANGRY rushing to get to our show. WILL NOT COME BACK AND DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I came to That Bar for my birthday kind of as a last minute plan and I was very happy that I did. For a Saturday night it wasn’t too packed and as more people started to come in later it still didn’t feel overwhelming. My friends and I were seated and one of the tables towards the back. The table comfortably seats 6 and there was a bit more of us than that as the night went on but thankfully the table behind was available so we made it work. The food really was the best surprise. It was absolutely delicious. The fish tacos were perfection my sister and friend had the salmon burger which they enjoyed and some of us shared wings which were also just heavenly. Drinks were just as good, I didn’t have any specialty drinks and went to my go-to, an old fashioned, which was exactly as it needed to be ☺️ The only major downside is the way you have to put in an order. Wether you’re seated at the bar or elsewhere, all food and drink orders have to be made at the bar area. Other than that great place over all. It’s clean, the space is great, food and drinks are good and staff is very nice. Can’t wait to go back.

I really liked this place. We dropped in to grab food but, just missed the cutoff. The food we did see looked good. We arrived around 11 so I would say that is the cutoff. Bartender let us know we were more than welcome to have food delivered and eat it there while drinking. The atmosphere was friendly. They have an upstairs area and what looked like a downstairs seating area as well. The bartender was super friendly. Decent selection of drafts and bottles. Not too expensive. $5-$9 beers, $9-$12 wine glasses, and $12ish cocktails. It was a Saturday and they were pretty dead so not sure if this is the place to bring your bachelor party, although someone did. I prefer the lowkey atmosphere. Lots of TV's showing various sports and a beer and shot special. What more do you need?

An absolute amazing experience. Went to the bar for the first time to watch the F1 Saudi Arabia GP. Matthew was working the bar with Rodger working in the kitchen. The bar opened at 1130 and the race started at 1230, about 1215 the place was already crowded and only bar service going on. The place stayed crowded the entire race, with Matthew and Rodger working tirelessly the entire time to keep the drinks and food flowing as well as they could with a large crowd, huge props to them for that. As for the food and the drinks, it was good bar food with fast service, most likely an awesome place to be on a Friday or Saturday night. I would highly recommend That Bar if you are in the area and they are open.

  • Alexis Parker

The food is so gross, I don't understand how they thought switching from fried to baked would be a good idea. I know I'm not alone on this, after hearing complaints from the other patrons as well as reading the reviews on Google and Yelp. I saw a review on Yelp that mentioned the cook being rude, and I witnessed their attitude firsthand. I couldn't make out what they were saying to the customer but judging from their body language they were acting pretty hostile. Maybe they knew each other or something, but you just don't act that way in a place of business. The customers around them seemed uncomfortable, too. I know I was.

Went there on Friday with a and had a blast! We got the fries, which were fine. I had a delicious Moscow Mule and my friend had some kind of frozen thing (I wasn't listening when they ordered), was also good. The bar vibe was great; chill but upbeat and fun. AMAZING MUSIC, and the staff was excellent! They seemed to work well together and to have fun. As someone who used to be in the service industry, it's always nice to see employees enjoying their job. I stopped by on Sunday b/c they had said it would be the same people as on Friday. The girl wasn't there, guess something came up, but the guy was and a good time was still had. Can't wait to come again.

An entertaining, lively place with lovely bar tenders and under the new management and a new chef. Nicely decorated with a full bar, tv's and live DJ. The food menu had a nice variety of options to fit the appetite. Nicely set up tables allowes some privacy, but at the same time being a part of the main bar. VIP section above is also available for private events. We were there for such event Location of this place is great, about a block to Barkley's Arena. Perfect for before and after game get togethers. Street parking wasn't bad, a couple of walk mins and apprx half a block. Overall a nice atmosphere to spend some time at. Enjoy!

Went to That Bar for a girls night after work and had a great time in the upstairs private space. We tried the cocktails and my Bellini was delish (just the right amount of champagne with mix of juice). The ladies and I shared wings, giant pretzel, potato wedges, burgers, brie and fruit compote, and brownie. I especially enjoyed the meaty fall off the bone BBQ wings, soft giant pretzel that came with mustard and cheese dipping sauces, and warm brie with cooked apples. The ambience was super cute and our selfies with the neon flower wall turned out amazing. Be sure to visit on Thursday if you like karaoke. We will be back!

  • Reinhard Nann

Cheese steak was like steak umms, supposed house-made beer cheese was like nacho cheese from a can. Definitely not worth $19. A $2 upcharge from chips to fries isn't right at that price point, though the fries were very hot and good. To top it off, server didn't check on me at all after delivering my food (didn't ask if I needed ketchup or anything else) and when she brought the bill she was eating an ice cream cone! Also a credit card surcharge is not right either. Definitely not a gastro pub and I won't be back.

My new favorite bar in BK. Celebrated my birthday with them this past weekend and it was amazing. Gene was easy to work with to coordinate everything exactly as I requested. Upon arrival the place was lively and jumping. I received superb service from Andrei who treated me like a VIP. Everyone I came in contact with was friend, polite and professional. The super cool, down to earth, owner checked in to make sure everything was perfect. She's a beautiful black woman inside and out. Drinks were good and reasonably priced and the food I tried was tasty and fresh.

  • Robert DeCaul

It became an interesting spot as the night wore on but the food was equally as bad as the drinks. I ordered a gin and tonic with a splash of orange juice and got a a glass with tonic and mostly orange juice. Second time around I said light on the orange juice and the drink had more orange juice than the first. The upstairs space was pretty nice for private event and though there were speakers there was no music pumped into the area. The wait staff were really cool and friendly though and the overall decor of the place was pretty neat for a sports bar.

  • thegripify

Poor service and poor food. I was charged almost $40 for 2 glasses of wine and a burger with “fries” (ruffles potato chips). That did not include the tip. Trying to get the bartender’s attention was nearly impossible. I was unable to ask a question about my bill because the bartender and a mop head kid behind the bar completely ignored me. I didn’t argue or have any difficulties in the bar so I don’t understand why the staff was so rude. I would avoid this nonsense place like the plague since there are MANY better options within a 5 minute walk.

  • Greg H

Quick stop for a beer after some Thai food with my friend (you know I love IPA's). The bartender was cool. The venue was clean and spacious. But most important of all they had a nice selection for your choice of drink . There were like 3 or 4 IPA's to choose from - and that was just the tap selection alone. I'd go back for another round or 2 for sure. Also, their bathrooms have such high ceilings!!! I was wondering why it was so huge in there. I guess they wanna give us a taste of the rich life along with our choice of drink

  • Michael Huling

It’s a sports bar near the Barclays center. People want to go there before games and watch sports. They started kicking people out of their seats in the middle of the titans ravens game because they were getting ready for “ladies night”. Listen you’re a sports bar don’t try to be a weird club Also Ordered food before the game and after an hour had to cancel the food order cause we had to go. Food never showed up. They approached us and asked us earlier if they could record us talking about the bar for social media which was weird.

  • gg me

I got there for happy hour the guy bartender was really cool and then it got late in the day by 7:30 they close the happy hour which is supposed to be on to 8pm but I guess they were losing more money than they were making that night female bartender came and took the place of the male and started watering down our drinks from that point it got doe and very loud and I wanted to leave the buffalo wings are good try at your own risk go there during the day which is much quieter and much more Pleasant..

  • Ben Tantanella

Service was awful. Waited thirty minutes for the bar back to come over and ask if we needed anything. Ordered a beer from him and the waitress came by two minutes later and chastised us for ordering from him. Watched the same waitress - there's only ONE working a sports bar on a football Sunday - sit around and eat upstairs with her friends while I went to the bar for a drink. Had to flag her down for everything we needed. Overall disappointing experience.

  • Nick Mako

Absolute worst restaurant / bar experience. The owner took our order and made sure to tell us she was the owner. I Paid $80 UP FRONT for food that ultimately never came. After an hour of waiting I notified the staff and waited another hour. Got a refund and left. Completely absent staff that tends only to tue bar apparently. I travel all over the city and country and never experienced such disorganization. So now I'm waiting 5-7 days for a refund.

Absolutely beautiful inside. The customer service was great, the prices were fair and the location is perfect. I love the Jameson BBQ wings and wedge fries. The drinks were a perfect balance of yummy and strong. I felt welcomed there. The vibe was friendly. I definitely recommend!

Cool, laid back. Great neighborhood spot to stop by in the evening for a drink, catch the games, or just unwind in a chill, regular folks pub. Great selection of tasty pub food, variety of wings, cheese sticks, onion wings, and fries, at fair prices. Service is courteous, prompt, and attentive. We had a really nice time eating, talking, catching up. We made a memory, and we'll be back to make more. A+

  • Casey Durrence

Spent a lot of time here last year during college football season. You’re new bartender didn’t want to change one tv in your half empty bar because he said it was too finicky and didn’t know how. Fine by me, I’ll go somewhere else for 3-4 hours every Saturday of college football season and spend money. I’m glad you guys are doing so well you don’t have to worry about patrons of the neighborhood.

My girlfriend and I stopped in after a concert at Barclays. The bar was a bit crowded but we still found a seat. Sadly the kitchen was closed when we got there around 11. Earlier in the day the had a Sixpoint event so all Sixpoint pints were $5. I had a Sixpoint Lil Raspy which I've never see and it was delicious. As this is one of the closer bars to Barclays I'll probably be back.

  • Dale Haynes

Cons: The cook failed to follow what the menu offered. Our order came missing items, replaced with other items (without notice) and something resembling a burger, but couldn't tell We chose to leave and take home whatever they wouldn't remove from the bill and went to another establishment a half mile walk on the same street. Pros: The in-house DJ was really good. @djkilla_court

Came here for a networking event and was pleasantly surprised to have such a GREAT bartender who accommodated a cucumber martini for me and wow I cannot believe they have such a nice UNFRIED menu. I had the best chicken tenders that were baked with some great gourmet honey mustard.

Came before the Islanders game on Sunday. When we arrived, there were maybe 5 other people in the place. Took 10-15 minutes to get our drinks and another 10+ minutes to order. The beers that were ordered (Sixpoint Bengali) weren't Bengali, and were barely cold. We couldn't even ask for our check being that the waiter never came over. Will not be back.

  • Bilal

Roberto and Joseph, good lord. Best service I've gotten. I've come back about 4 times because of how friendly and great Roberto is to me and my friends, treats us like family! Drink specials are so damn cheap for being in the city, food is solid with some amazing special houses sauces for the wings and the fish n chips! Highly recommended spot!

  • jonathan herrera

This place just needs a little TLC to be five stars. Things look nice and well designed but they're actually falling apart. The beer list was inaccurate, the food wasn't terrible, and the staff were mostly nice even if they looked stressed. I bet if I hadn't been working in food & beverage for the last 15 years, I would have liked it more.

  • Mark Linford

Pretty terrible bar. I went for the Mayweather / McGregor fight. They shut all the windows and doors and closed the blinds so no one could see the fight from outside. The real issue is they refused to turn on the ac. Apparently it was "broken". After sweating for 1 hour, I wrote off the $30 cover and went home. Never going back.

  • Roman Shapiro

I went into the Montrose and was so impressed with the badass chick bartender w the wolf tattoo. Even though they were obviously very busy, she had a fun, positive attitude and was extremely attentive making sure we were all taken care of and having a good time. I'll definitely be going back to see Laura for Sunday and nights!

  • Bill Livingston

LOVE The Montrose! They have the best thurs night karaoke and DJ Sara is an amazing hostess who emits a beautiful, crowd-pumping energy. She also has one hell of a voice! Last Friday, we happened upon their karaoke in the street party and it was such a beautiful Brooklyn moment. I really hope they continue with that! Cheers!

  • Moshiko H

This place is under new ownership, the young lady owner is very cool, it has seating upstairs with waiter service, downstairs has seating too, plus the basement has some games. The main floor has space for dancing and bar space. They have Karaoke (not sure which night) Music was great. Very neat place, I must say!

  • Ashton Ngwena

Worst service I have gotten in ages. Ordered drinks and ended up having to cancel order as service was just too slow. Place wasn’t even packed but things seemed to just take too long. Ordered water and had to follow up multiple times to get it delivered to our table. Overall just a terrible dining experience.

Didn't see our waiter again after ordering. Our drinks were very late because the 'Bar was backed up' and we weren't told this until we asked another waiter. Then we asked for water but even getting that was a struggle. Yeah the customer experience can and should be improved.

I visited this place due to a photo exhibition there in which a friend was participating. While there I enjoyed the space and ambiance. Not suited well to the showing of photography, however, the food there seemed very good for a bar and the staff were very friendly.

What a bar for my friend and us to share together! The amazing time we had on Thursday was so good that we had to come back for Friday! The cuties both behind the bar and serving us made it so much fun last week! Can you say Local Bars Rock! #BarLife #FireBallWhiskey

I came here for a SpareRoom event. I couldn't drink since my surgery but I wanted cranberry juice as it helps my system. Alas it was the type that comes from the tap - the watery stuff, for $3. In any case, I do give the place props for really nice decor.

  • Geoffrey Si

The Montrose has great ambiance, with a lower and upper floor in the back. Very cool design, it had plenty of TVs for those who want to have a beer and watch the game. Daily specials on food and drinks. Drink prices are on the higher end. Has board games

  • Scarlett Hammond

Came here for a concert out of town and asked what the house was tequila was the bartender asks me if I would like to try it and pours me a tiny baby sip in a shot glass. Once my tab came he charged me $9 for it. Come here if you like getting swindled

  • Katie

Had the chicken wrap which was great and there was a good selection of summer ales. Windows were open when the weather was nice, music was good, not too crowded on a Saturday night. Great date night spot that was low key and very enjoyable.

  • Terence D. Towler

Always a fun time. Bartenders are great and prices are awesome. If you can't get into the Barclay's Center for the Nets game and wanna see the Nets game, go there!!!!!! FYI....Mon,Wed & Fri, the bartender's Playlist is bangin! Great music!

  • Jeannie Martin DeLoach

This sports bar actually has ambience, but the biggest winner here is the unbelievably friendly staff. The beer selection is on point. The bar food is surprisingly good. And of course there are enormous TVs showing all the important games.

  • Kade Doyle Griffiths

Service was lovely and music and crowd was great—I was very disheartened to hear the apparent owner (?) threaten former staff with calling the police in them given my god for the evening of patronizing black owned business in Brooklyn.

  • Brandon Davis

The have a really great looking bar. The wood block interior is very interesting. Beer list is very boring. If you are just looking for a quick cheap drink, go for it. If you are looking for some ambiance, try somewhere else.

  • Roxana Guerra

Large bar with plenty seating. They have 5 TV screens so the chance that your sport game is on is high. Few bars in Brooklyn had the GoldCup (soccer) tournament on and this was one of them. 5 stars just because of that lol.

  • Majic Coven

Was there tonight! My server was so nice and funny, I think her name was Kayla. The music was great. Love a bar that can get into the spooky szn and the bartender made my drinks so good, 10/10 will be coming back. …

Incredibly rude owner. A true, genuine A-hole. 1,000 other bars in this fine city that I’d sooner return to. Oh, and he’s dishonest too. Stay away.

The Thursday night chips n dip was soggy. Plus it almost killed me. But the sliders were spot on. All and all a small, well seasoned vibe.

The drinks are great ... it was a little slow that night so there was only a few people in the bar. other than that it was pretty mellow.

Nice little corner bar/pub. Great food and service. Had the Reuben sandwich, which was one of the best I've ever had. Highly recommended.

Great sports bar with plenty of TVs to catch whichever game your looking for. Nice place to pregame before heading to Barclays Center.
