I wanted to go to Tales for some years now, well sometimes you need to be patient to get a reward. Tales is this incredible little, cosy, timeless cocktails bar. The concept is far away from the frantic run after the newest trend. Down here it’s leather, dark wood, jazz music, sit down only, a massive bar and some of the friendliest and skilled bar men in town (we had the pleasure to be served by Adrian). Classic and classy. You can go with the menu or let them conceive a unique cocktail for you based on your preferences. I started with a classic “One night in Paris”, wonderfully refreshing in the mouth, on the first summer night out just perfect. While my fiancé let Adrian make a custom cocktail based on Ardbeg and Portobello gin, a swish of lemon zest. A smoky martini of the house, which he enjoyed to the fullest. After followed a fantastic version of a Clover Club with Frangelico for me which I adored (this goes straight into my favs ) and for monsieur a Mr. Bumblebee also whisky based, with honey cordial and wax which it’s his favorite. All in all, Tales got a from us in all aspects and we can’t wait to come back.

Relativ teuer und ich darf aufgrund meines bisherigen Lebenslauf auch die Qualität der Cocktails beurteilen, wo ich bei einigen Cocktails, welche auf der ganzen Welt gleich schmecken sollten, wie z.b. Ein Gin Fizz, mehrmals grundlegende Fehler bei deren Herstellung beobachtet habe. Was mir ganz extrem aufgefallen ist, war das Publikum , sorry aber durch alle Schichten hochnäsig, arrogant und wenn man mal jemandem ganz normal anspricht, wird man behandelt, als sei man ein Ausserirdischer!! ( Wobei mir das in der Stadt Zürich allgemein auffällt.) Warum verhalten sich die Zürcher so verschlossen? Obwohl ich doch schon bald 15 Jahre hier wohne, habe ich div. Versuche gemacht, mit jemandem Fremden, ein Gespräch zu führen. Quote: 70% ignorieren Dich oder zeigen dir deutlich, dass sie nichts wissen wollen, 10% erteilen dir eine Abfuhr in dev. Varianten und die restlichen 20% fragen dich als erstes oder sicher als zweites: " Was schaffsch du?"!!

I was in Zürich for a few days and decided to go to Tales Bar on a whim. I was happy the first time I went here and visited again the next evening! Talk about being a repeat customer on your very first visit! I asked for options based on my general likes, and I was served cocktails that were surprising and excellent! Water and nibbles are complementary. Mother-in-law is an amazing cocktail! Highly recommended if you like the classic Old Fashioned cocktail. Go for it! That was my first cocktail here and it set the expectations high up. And it kept going! The Tales Bar has a cosy, welcoming atmosphere, and conversation with the owners is easy and engaging. And the cocktails are superb! Go by the menu or off it — you will not be disappointed. I'm surely coming back here on my next visit to Zurich, even if I'm just passing through! Cheers!

Probably the best cocktail bar in town. The owners and staff are proud and care, and you feel it in every detail! First thing you get as a guest is complimentary water and nibbles, which is strangely uncommon in Zurich but, to me, shows that they want you there to enjoy good drinks, and not fleece you for being parched the drinks are amazing and you really notice that the staff working the bar are professionals. It's what a place like this is supposed to be run like. It can be a bit difficult to get in because it's usually packed, but it's no mystery why.

Einer meiner Lieblingbars in Zürich, wurde noch nie enttäuscht. Unmittelbar nähe Casino gelegen. Die Gastgeber sind wirklich sehr locker, freundlich und beraten stets professionell. Die Karte gut gemischt mit ausgesuchten Drinks. Diese sind schmackhaft bis speziell mit teils spannender Präsentation. Die Öffnungszeiten haben sich positiv verändert. So kann man sich auf ein After-Work Drink freuen ;) Eine Reservation ab 2 Personen halte ich für empfehlenswert, da die Bar sehr gut besucht wird und begrenzte Kapazitäten aufweist.

Genialer Laden, klein und fein. War vor einigen Monaten das erste mal da (nach eigentlicher Schlusszeit) wurde hervorragend beraten. Man merkt hier das das ganze mit Passion betrieben wird. Wollte noch was essen aber Küche war zu, ja klar, Der Laden war ja eigentlich auch schon zu. ... Bekam aber vom Barkeeper ein selbstgemachtes Rum/nuss Eis/Glacee offeriert... Was für ne Liebe zum Job, Und eine Passion.... Bin sehr dankbar das mir jemand diesen laden gezeigt hat...

Tales is not your typical Zurich bar. Here, you tell the barkeepers what taste you have and which flavours you feel like. Then Sabrina will mix something up and then keep you discovering new tastes for the rest of the night. Sabrina basically takes your words and makes flavours out of them. Expertly. It's not about drinking here, it's about taste flavour and giving you a nice place to sit down. All in all, chances are that you will find your favourite bar here.

My favorite bar in Zürich. The staff is really kind and serves also water and some snacks once you order. The quality of the drinks is optimal and there is really wide range of drinks to choose from. Also, there are different glasses depending on the drink you choose. Given that it is not cheap, I can definitely recommend investing 2-4 CHF more to come here.

Immer sehr gut besucht, daher unbedingt reservieren. Die Cocktails sind wunderbar und alle frisch zubereitet mit den besten Zutaten. Sehr freundliche Bedienung die auch gerne Tipps zu Drinks gibt. Zum Essen kann man ein wunderbares Plättchen mit Oliven, Aufschnitt, Brot und Käse bestellen. Zudem wird immer kostenlos Wasser nachgeschenkt und die Knabbernüsse aufgefüllt. Wirklich meine Lieblingsbar in Zürich.

Für mich die beste Cocktailbar überhaupt! Es schmeckt immer! Ungewöhnliche Cocktails a la carte, die man nicht überall bekommt. Und bei sonderwünschen oder untenschlossen Kunden helfen sie immer kompetent weiter und mixen den perfekten cocktail. Super freundliche Bedienung! Reservierung vorab ist sinnvoll, da immer gut besucht. Leider keine Zweigstelle in meiner aktuellen Heimatstadt :-(

In keiner Bar erhält man Drinks, welche mit so viel Können und Kunst zubereitete sind. Die Auswahl und Qualität ihrer Alkohole sind vorzüglich. Der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich und man wird stets freundlich und kompetent beraten. Weiss man nicht, was man trinken soll, hat jedoch eine Idee nach was es schmecken soll, so wird man gerne mit Ideen unterstützt. Ich gehe immer wieder gerne!

Hier kann man sich einfach nur wohlfühlen! Kompetente Barkeeper, die ihr Handwerk verstehen und mit Leidenschaft dabei sind - das schmeckt man! :-) Hervorragende Cocktails in tollen Gläsern, ästhetisch und sehr schick angerichtet. If you know cocktails this is THE COCKTAIL BAR you want to go to! They'll make you one of their amazing creations or maybe an old classic that you read about in some crazy old cocktail book. 10 stars if I could!

In the centre of Zurich's financial district, a no nonsense dim-lit cocktail bar, with an extensive drink and spirit selection prepared by experienced mixologist. Try the classics such as the Old Fashioned but also one of their more modern creations. The bar food section, especially the curry wurst, is worth a look for any late night craves.

Fantastic cocktail bar. One of the best in Zürich. The place itself is very cozy and not too loud. The cocktails are fantastic and the selection is huge. If you can't choose the staff is more than happy to recommend and create something special for you. Staff is overall very friendly and relaxed. Cannot recommend the Tales Bar enough.

We got put into the waiting section and 2 other couples who arrived after us were seated before us. That's definitely not good customer service. The reason we picked this place was based on the reviews so here's an honest one. Unless you're a couple, don't bother. Cocktails we had was good but when you're left with facing a wall...

A friend introduced me to this bar, nestled away near the trainstation Selnau. Seating space is (severely) limited, but the bar does make up with intimate atmosphere and fantastic cocktails. No idea what you want? Just tell the bartender what you like and he'll come up with something - we have yet to be disappointed by the results.

Excellent cocktail bar reminiscent of Smuggler's Cove, but with more Prohibition Era inspired options. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and clearly appreciate the craft. Don't skip the Trinidad Sour--the unicorn of craft cocktails, very rarely seen in the wild--since you may not have the opportunity to try one again soon.

Incredible place with amazing cocktails, a very much needed bar that is open till late. The service is top class and I have always had a great time here - the place is lively, but at the same time not too loud, so it's great if you want to have a good conversation. Try "Bob Ford" cocktail, you won't regret it.

Cocktail bar with a wide selection menu. The place is small and usually gets very crowded already early in the evening. Sometimes it is so loud to make the stay unpleasant (especially when 20yo groups are there), but otherwise a nice bar. Drink are pricey (around 18 chf) but at least made in an original way.

This is one of the best Cocktail bars I've ever been to. The staff is AMAZING. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. If you are confused on what to order, just ask and they will create something special and taste just for you. I visited this place more than once on my trip and it was wonderful every time!

Top Service, Top Drinks. Ich habe selten so einen guten Service in einer vollen Bar erlebt. Wir hatten bereits einen Platz, wurden dann aber gefragt, ob wir nicht direkt an der Bar Platz nehmen wollten. Atmosphäre war cool und HIntergrundmusik passend und auch in der Lautstärke angenehm.

This place far exceeded my expectations. The waiters are very professional and friendly, and make amazing cocktails. They have a very large selection of liquor and they close very late. They also serve pretty decent food until pretty late in the evening. A bit pricey but well worth it.

Eine meiner liebsten cocktail bars in zürich. Man wird immer sofort bedient und bekommt immer etwas züri wasser zum drink. Ich selber besuchte diese Bar bis jetzt immer zu randzeiten und fand daher jedesmal einen gemütlichen Platz. Die Drinks sind sehr gut und mit liebe zubereitet.

Die Getränkekarte ist so riesig und man kann auch seine Vorlieben äussern um den perfekten Cocktail zu erhalten. Wir waren alle 6 Personen absolut begeistert und werden das Lokal sehr gern wieder besuchen.

Great cocktails. Interior is very cosy and great for a first date or a small group. Perfect for after-work meetings as well, especially for people in the hospitality industry as bar opens usually until 3 am and small bites are served until closing time.

One of my favorite bars in Zurich. The service is very professional and the interior is very classic. If you want a good and professional cocktail, I would recommend here to go. Be careful of WC. It’s underground and the stairs are very sharp.

Nicely quiet cocktail bar. The drink menu could be a bit more specific whether a drink will be on the rocks, or tall etc. They also have a weird habit of snatching away your menu. Maybe print more menus so you can avoid the awkwardness?

Very classy bar, quiet, with a large variety of drinks. Good snacks, professional service. If you ask, the employees can tell you a lot about anything they serve, I had an amazing whiskey which I learned a lot about.

One of my top 3 cocktail places in Zurich. Cosy location, very friendly service. More a sit-down place, so not very suitable for bigger groups. Not exactly cheap for 20 quid, but they only use fine spirits.

The glasses presentation is stunning and they have a rather consistent theme around tales (stories). The drinks are also decently good. It's a standard noisy bar I'd say Servers were knowledgeable as well.

Very well made drinks, cozy atmosphere inside. I had the mother in law which is like an old fashioned and it was delicious. They even had their own branded ice cubes!

Some of the best cocktails I've had. Beautiful setting and wonderful atmosphere. Wolfgang was incredibly knowledgeable and helped us all choose drinks that we loved.

The cocktails are really good. Some of the staff members are really rude though. Service can definitely be way better. Super disappointed by that.
