The Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) is a sports stadium in Sydney, Australia. It is used for Test, One Day International and Twenty20 cricket, as well as, Australian rules football and occasionally for rugby league, rugby union and association football. It is the home ground for the New South Wales Blues cricket team, the Sydney Sixers of the Big Bash League and the Sydney Swans of the Australian Football League. It is owned and operated by the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust, who also hold responsibility for the Sydney Football Stadium. Sydney Cricket Ground is traditionally one of the most spin-friendly international cricket grounds in Australia, because the soil and foundation of the pitch and playing surface is primarily 'Bulli soil' from Bulli, New South Wales. The SCG along with the Gabba in Brisbane are the only major test venues in Australia not to have switched to a drop-in pitch.
A truly magnificent sporting arena! I have been going to the SCG periodically since I was a young boy in the mid 80s and the ground still holds all the charm in the world despite the many attempts to modernise the venue over the past 40 years or so. Located in Moore Park, you can reach the ground via a tram from the CBD or a 20-25 minute walk from Central Station. The Members & Ladies stands are heritage listed so they will always be there regardless of the many other modifications that will continue to be made. What’s more, there truly isn’t a bad seat in the entire ground. You can get in and out with your tickets however, there are no food venues near the ground so take a packed lunch and drinks (no cans allowed) in your backpack if you don’t want to buy the average food they sell inside the ground.
The tour of a life time it was terrific and the history of the ground the players and the building was amazing, Ron our tour guide was entertaining knowledgeable and told brilliant stories all Iam sure were true but his delivery was gold. I thought I had a good knowledge of the SCG but I was wrong. Ron gave us a history lesson not only about test cricket but also state and local cricket rugby tests state of origin games, AFL football various entertainment functions at the ground etc The background of the game why the SCG is the best and THE OLDEST ground in the world it was fantastic. Even who used what locker in the change rooms across all sporting teams etc Great value for money and Ron you are gold Do it folks go on the tour Trev and mates
What can I say. Buddy awful . Making sure you step past the poo on the ground. Then making your way past the scanning experience into the ground, you could tell this amateur ground couldn't take a full crowd of 45,000. Untrained staff and customer service didn't know where to direct us. Poor little green signage and as you walk up the poorly made stairs with cracks in them again the signage doesn't help. And there was no staff again. Check out the slow bar staff who take 10 minutes per customer to serve. You could be stuck in a line for food and drinks for over 30 minutes. If you need to go outside the ground during the game then don't.. Would not recommend this as it was one of the worst all round customer experiences ever.
Watched my very first cricket match live in Australia at SCG between India vs Netherlands, so it's special for me. I had my fan boy moment with a couple of Netherland players who took time off, happy to pose for the selfie. Appreciate Logan van Beek, Stephan Myburgh happily posing with fans. The atmosphere was electrifying with passionate supporters of India. Best place to see the strong crowd of India migrants living at Sydney is SCG with about 50,000 people in attendance, in my view, experience so far. Needless to say that the best moment was when the National Anthem was played before the start. Would definitely love if it can be renovated, accommodate more people >90k such as MCG.
First cricket match ever! T20 NZ vs SL. The match itself was not competitive, but a great atmosphere. The seats, views were decent. The food options could be great, and obviously the prices were a bit spendy but not ridiculous as some venues could be. Also, as long as it's not alcohol and no drinks in cans or glass, you can bring your own drinks and also your own food. I don't think they have much restrictions. Chips and any snacks is good, and there were people who had brought Tupperware of sandwiches to share with family. Good opportunity to have fun with family, relatively cheap. Very helpful staff and easy to get there with public transport as well!
Really interesting stadium, but very small compared to stadiums in other states. I heard lots of people mention this stadium is very small, but had to go there and see for myself. However, given the small size, it has all the facilities and wonderful atmosphere for an AFL or cricket match. I went there to the Sydney Swans v Geelong match on 30 June which ended in a rare draw, and the atmosphere and crowd was so good, just like any footy match. Obviously there are many food and drink stations in the stadium so you won’t go hungry or thirsty, and there are several places that sell merchandise of the Swans AFL team.
A great experience on the stadium. Watched an AFL game there from a private box and I can definitely say that I was impressed both with the service and the quality of the food. As far as the stadium itself, it seems very well organized. The approach is structured - the security check and the ticket validation - but it moves quickly and efficiently. The signs point you in the right direction and the staff is helpful and courteous. The view from the stands is good and the atmosphere during a game rules! Definitely recommend if you have a chance.
Watched T20 World Cup between NZ v Pak and the atmosphere was electrifying indeed. We were close to Members stand and the view was amazing, the match experience was surreal and the facilities in the stadium are top notch. The public transport is so easy to access and that makes commute to SCG a hassle free one. An iconic ground with rich heritage, and a place that's worth the visit. The seating is excellent as the field views were stunning...loved every bit of it.
Went for the first time, found it a little strange you have to go to certain entrances depending where you are sitting rather than go into any entry and walk around to respective seating. Good access inside, escalators, plenty of food and bar facilities. Main hassle I had was so many people trying to access public transport in such a small area allocated. Found it better and quicker to walk to Allison Road, either get an Uber, Taxi or be picked up.
Have been to almost every section of this great ground (including the private boxes and Members). Starting to feel a little old in some parts but being the spiritual sporting home for Sydney siders, we can let that slide. Service, food/beer is what you'd expect. Perhaps adopting greater variety of food/drink like Sydney Showgrounds Stadium (Giants) or Western Sydney Stadium (Bankwest) would be the next step in making the SCG even better!
A great place to watch live cricket and AFL. The seats are decent and the new stands make the SCG feel new and contemporary without losing its signature feel and pavilions. The food selection is really good and priced fairly reasonably. There is enough toilets and there is adequate wheel chair access. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Definitely a place to be at when you are in Sydney! Go for the scg tour and explore all the hidden gems of this place that connects to the cricket history. My experience so far has been amazing since the last many years. I have been visiting this place for a lot of cricket matches and never go home disappointed. Can't miss the best wraps at one of their food stalls. You won't regret ever. See pictures.
Good cricket ground to enjoy all kinds of cricket matches. I watch T20 world cup match between Ind & Ire. We enjoyed the match and Stadium’s atmosphere. Stadium is located in the heart of Sydney, it is very close to central station. It has ample parking space near it , so taking your car is not a big deal. Stadium has all kinds of amenities which will make your experience a memorable one.
We went to the Sydney Cricket Ground on a Saturday night to watch the right with friends. They were members so we got access to the members and ladies pavillion which was awesome. We had great views of the grounds. The other advantage was that it was under cover so we were shielded from the rain. The food options were not great in the line and the wine was decent but not good .
I’ve visited the SCG twice for the cricket and never had any problems. My favourite ground to watch the cricket at. It’s easy access to your seats. My opinion go on the day where everything is pink! So many activities to do just outside the stadium also really cool beer gardens. If you’re coming from central station just hop on the light rail and you’ll be there in no time.
The SCG tour is worth for any Cricket enthusiast. SCG is home ground of my all time favourite Steve Waugh. The tour staff at this Heritage cricket ground are knowledgeable and very supportive. They welcome everyone with pleasurable smile. I had a wonderful time @ SCG.

We being cricketers of our college days were eager to visit it as it is a world famous cricket ground. We went to the museum fortunate to see the pics of the greatest batsman Don Bradman photos bats and many old and present cricketers used kit, shoes, gloves, caps, jersey's etc. You can also see the famous and legend Pele' s Jersey also.
Good stadium with the normal stadium food. Everything clean and organized. Passionate fans. Went there for AFL. If you don’t know it you can probably skip it, high scoring makes the fans disinterested and some (most?) games not interesting at the end

It's beautifully maintained and must visit for cricket lovers who are traveling to Australia. The way they are keeping each and every memory it's remarkable. you feel proud to see the museum.... I loved it, its worth to spend 90 min to live the real experience. Dressing room, physio section, commentary box, media room..... Go for it.
Love this ground. Watched a few T20 games here, absolutely great fun. The stadium capacity is around 48000. You can easily reach there by public transport, best is to catch light rail from Central, only 2 stops away ( Moore Park ). If you are watching an India game, It will be fully packed and the atmosphere will be lightning.
We attended the Sydney Cricket Ground for our first Sydney Swans game. We had the privilege of sitting in the heritage protected members pavilion. The venue oozes history without sacrificing comfort and top class amenities. The unique setting only acts to amplify the atmosphere amongst the passionate AFL fans. More
Brilliant architecture and many facilities in the premises.TV screens all around the ground also Toilets were very clean. Please select good gate staff for the entrance. Some of them (looks like south asians) were very aggressive and didn’t know how to communicate with the people who come to enjoy the events.
Greant event to the Sydney Sixers smash bash and hit 6 after 4 after 4 after 4. The SCG is such a sensational field and it's still got the old members stand there for her and him. Great location 2 minute walk to the Sydney light rail tram. An absolutely great field to go to and watch a great sporting event.
Did a tour of this iconic cricket ground and loved to see the stadium which has so much history. Home to the NSW Blues in cricket and Sydney Swans in Australian rules football it has rich sporting history. Even though the SCG museum is not as big as the MCG it is definitely worth having a look.
This stadium is one of the best in Australia I highly recommend going here to watch your favourite sport team. The swans smashed the giants today and got a final score of 112 to 39. The food was good for stadium food and the noise the crowd made when the swans scored was on another level.
What a great evening. Visited for the BBL match against Hobart and we really enjoyed it. Loads going on for the whole family, a great atmosphere and reasonably priced. Great match too with Sydney holding out for a solid win in the last over. A real highlight for our trip.
Definitely it's a must visit place for every cricket lover if you're in Sydney. But I feel that Melbourne Cricket Ground was much better and it was sort of open but this was in a closed vicinity. Nevertheless do check this place out if you're in Sydney. Well maintained.
Truly iconic venue. If you are a cricket fan and are visiting Sydney as a tourist, do not miss a chance to attend a game here. Very easy to access. Most stands are undercover if rain disrupts. Friendly staff and easy to navigate. I would recommend to anyone …
This is an amazing stadium! I come here to watch test matches and the BBL. It's always a great atmosphere and seats aren't cramped. Perfect for a day out for the cricket.

Fantastic experience visiting this ground for 5 days of Ashes cricket in January this year, albeit the wrong result! Plenty of parking next to the ground, also good bus links. I was travelling from Manley beach, a combination of ferry, tube
SCG corporate box. Not catered. No drinks. And a stack of old food that just sat there for the entirety of the match. Ultimately just a weird experience.

Got a chance to watch INDIA Vs AUSTRALIA T20 match.A dream come true. For a die hard cricket fan what better than to get a chance to watch a match in Sydney Cricket Ground. Electrifying atmosphere.Spectacular show by both teams and a nail
Historic ground! Have been here several times to watch cricket. Entry to the stadium on the 5th day of a test match is free. Also, all the Shield games are free. Have a look at the little museum inside the stadium. It is great!
It was fun watching game. We were on the first row so we could see player easily. Thanks to my friend for that. Ground is large so it might be difficult for you to find your sit. I was lost for few min searching for my sit.
Great venue as always. The historic SCG last night hosted the Sydney Roosters impressive win over the Tigers 72-6. Beautiful food at the corporate lounge and atmosphere was electric Love the feel of the ground. …
First time at this historic place after years of seeing it on TV. Simply stunning mix of old and new. Easy to navigate and find seats in general admission. Perfect for an evening of Big Bash cricket …
Only my 2nd time to the SCG, however thoroughly enjoyed the cricket games. 1st time in 2015 Australia played against India. Today’s game was final day of test against South Africa. Was a draw!!
Went on a SCG tour. Fantastic experience a highly slick ground. Our tour ground was very knowledgeable and kind. A child threw up and he handled the situation with respect and patience.
'The' place to watch excellent cricket. Sunset view from level 4 of members stand in a day/night game is a treat to the eyes. The heritage and history associated is fascinating
Attended the open game of the T20 World Cup, Australia V New Zealand. It is a great venue and the atmosphere was superb. This is one of the best sport venues in the world.
Excellent venue had lots of fun! Managed well and helpful staff!! We saw the India Vs Netherlands match here during the ICC T20 World Cup and it was a great experience !
A great stadium used for Cricket, AFL and music. A mix of old and new stands make a great venue. One downside is the cost of a beer, $11.40 for a schooner of pale ale.
Corporate box was great experience with friends, Level 5, O’Reilly Stand was awesome view on the wing. Swans played terrible, food, company and service was amazing!
Very well organised event between Pakistan and South Africa cricket match. The attendance was 30,351 and the management of the crowd was very smooth and controlled.
Lovely scg tour.... In a detailed manner ..the tour is super recommended

My first live match experience was here. It was good. Might need few more food and drinks stalls/shops particularly coffee shops at least during busy days.
I’ve lived in London, Sydney and South Africa and would comfortably say that the SCG is visually the most stunning grounds I’ve seen.
We visited the SCG on the morning of 22nd of October for the approximate 11am slot, I honestly can't remember but the date was right.
Highly recommend the tour. Vanessa, our tour guide was very knowledgeable, and her passion for the history of the SCG shone through.
Magnificent place to watch an AFL game of Sydney Swans. The atmosphere is amazing and the views and people around us are adorable!
Fan moment when you visit the ground where you have seen your favourite cricketers and legends play. So much history associated
Not the MCG but it was a great place to view the AFL at. Another ground I can tick off I've been too.
Fantastic facility. Great seating. Only problem is one of the ground viewing screen should be larger.
Good seats. Expensive beers and food, 24 bucks for two beers, along with $10 chips (almost)
Really enjoyed the SCG Tour.Tour Guide was an ex tv commentator and really knew his stuff.
