Needed a locksmith to open a jammed door for my workplace on a Tuesday just after 9am. Called a mobile number of another locksmith business (Smith Lock Melbourne) who sent out another "technician" as they were unavailable. They sent Jason from Swift locksmiths from another business (only found out when I saw another business name on the eftpos receipt). Came quickly and did the job well. In regard to cost, I felt it was high for a week day ($750 for call out, replace two locks when only one was jamming the door and "safe entry") but the handling of payment was what I was distraught about. Note, the original approval for the quote came from another manager via phone. After the job was done, Jason demanded the fee to be paid upfront. I was approached by staff to handle it but I was not aware of this. I informed him our business does not have funds readily available, we would normally send invoices to head office and they would process payment. I requested an invoice for our accounts department, he said only after payment has been paid. The quote he provided was verbal. I called the original mobile I rang that morning to ask for an invoice, then Jason then tells me that I am "dealing with him now" and to pay him, ignore whoever I called over the phone. I felt intimidated and backed into a corner. In the end I wanted it to be over and I had to pay out of my own credit card. I ended up getting the invoice the next day. After finding out he was not the original business I reached out to and the way everything was handled with payment, I was quiet upset.

$230 for a 5 minute job is called taking unfair advantage of people needing help. Your $30 call out fee is misleading, especially if you don’t mention the the hundreds you plan on stinging people. You should definitely advise people of the price (which I did ask over the phone but was brushed off) because now we can’t afford to eat this week. I have had 2 other past experiences with locksmiths & I have never ever paid that much. I will definitely be supporting someone with a less impressive website next time, or just buying a new lock, because $230 is just plain robbery

Jason from Swift Locksmiths was extremely fast to arrive (fifteen minutes) and resolve our emergency situation. The privacy latch of our bathroom door handle had broken, trapping someone inside! We really appreciated Jason's calm demeanour and understanding. He very carefully opened the door and then replaced the latch entirely. The door handle is now as good as new. For a reasonable price on Boxing Day, this was greatly appreciated. We highly recommend Swift Locksmiths. Thank you Jason!

Not recommended! Very rude customer service! Maybe because I’m not white skin? Shame on you! U should appreciate customer give u chance to serve and make money, otherwise just bloody turn off yr phone and stay in your bed. If u don’t want make money just don’t take take the job is fine mate, you’re not the only locksmith in Victoria! Customer paid 200 bucks for your bad attitude?! I paid 200 bucks for 5 minutes job not 20 bucks!

I needed an electronic deadbolt installed, it was a kinda complicated install, Jason and his associate came within the next day on a weekend, installed the lock. They did it efficiently and neatly. I did confirm prices upfront, it felt higher than the other quotes, but the level of communication and quality was 100%. They do have EFTPOS service available. Totally well worth it for the quality of the job. I highly recommend them.

Quoted $30 callout fee. Was quick to attend. And after 5 minutes had my door unlocked. $220 was not a fair price. I’m still waiting for the tax invoice I requested on the spot. Perhaps he lost my business card? 5 days later - STILL NO INVOICE! Pathetic. How long can it take to send an email?

$50 call out fee, $180 service fee, total $230 for a Saturday 8.40pm service. Arrived within 15 minutes and opened the door of our house in 5. Read online about how much locksmith services cost and it's the normal market price. Wish it were cheaper but better than being locked out :(
