"I don't really like Sutton its close to me so it's my local high st but sadly it has lost many of its individual shops so is the same as many others and now is losing even the chains with the tightening of the economy (which in my opinion there were too many of here anyway) it is very bland and samey, the only difference between it and Croydon is the size of the chain shops and that our shopping centres have more empty spaces- Which, according to a friend who once rented a shop in st Nicholas centre, is because they regularly raise the rent with few services for the shops they even have to share the public toilets, and it's a requirement that whatever happens you must be open and closed when the centre is Times square is a little better but since its refurb has no public access toilets and sadly the Games Workshop there is now closing from lack of custom, probably because most people only use Times square as a cut through to the high st"
"Sutton is currently undergoing some improvement works to the station with the roof, however from the photos I got today and everything, it seemed like a well-organised and lovely station"
"My train came up as delayed and I asked for advise from one of the staff members to be told that “I don’t know but don’t use logic” What does this mean? I continued to question why the train is late and do you know how long? To be met with sarcasm and rude comments like ‘get a cab’ and ‘let’s kill this conversation’ I asked if he could phone the other stations to find out more information and all he says is there is nothing he could do? These services have gone up in price"
"I actually live in Sutton and the black taxi drivers are some of the rudest I have ever met"
"Sutton Station is a main out London station, meaning if trains are cancelled from London they tend to always stop at Sutton"

Sutton is currently undergoing some improvement works to the station with the roof, however from the photos I got today and everything, it seemed like a well-organised and lovely station. Some parts seemed a bit out-dated and run down but I do suppose this will be changed from the improvement works. It has many services including services to Epsom and Dorking on southern and a terminating stopping services that go all the way to London Bridge and London Victoria. Thameslink also run on the Sutton loop here and the train goes all the way to St Albans City. There are plenty of benches and even a starbucks located inside the station! it is also Step Free, I think if it was more clean and the platform 4 wasn't so narrow in certain areas it would have been a 5 star. However, once the refurbishment has taken place it may be 5 star.

To be met with sarcasm and rude comments like ‘get a cab’ and ‘let’s kill this conversation’ I asked if he could phone the other stations to find out more information and all he says is there is nothing he could do? These services have gone up in price. Please tell me why when you have rude employees. Others around me were asking normal questions and agreed that the staff should be more apologetic and less rude and sarcastic, Sandor was extremely rude and unpleasant. TfL please hire nice informed staff
I actually live in Sutton and the black taxi drivers are some of the rudest I have ever met. I have lived in other parts of London and they've been the friendliest and most helpful. If your journey is too short they don't like it and if it's too long they don't like it either. One driver actually refused to take me because it was a short journey and I was called 'lazy'. I was actually unwell and had been in hospital all day. I know longer use them. The mainline station is good. I've not dealt with the staff but the train line is 20 mins to London Victoria and has it's usual problems like delays but overall it's a good service and gets me from A-B.
Sutton Station is a main out London station, meaning if trains are cancelled from London they tend to always stop at Sutton. Positioned at the top of the highstreet. The station has two entrances, lifts to the platforms, toliets and average waiting areas. Starbucks coffee hut available on platform 1. Staff are usually helpful, and usually repsond to change fairly well, given the lack of communication given to them. ATMs out side the station and a newsagents to the left out of the station for oyster top-up. Plenty of public houses, restaurants, takeaways and shopping within walking distance.
Your staffs treatment and lack of compassion for another human being. One of which is already in a vulnerable possition is sickening. Of that is the stardard of the calibre you staff posses i am trully dissatisfied and disappointed with the state of our so called professional workers. You should all take a look at yourselves and truly consdier what value you have a people let alone professionals supposedly in authority possitions. Sickening trully is. Anyone confused with my comments should just Google "sutton station homeless man abused by staff."
Sunday, in a bit of a hurry as needed to get back to central London quickly. Didn't realise that Southern services were down and as I tapped through the barrier I asked the attendant staff member what the best way would be to get to London Victoria - he just replied "good luck" and offered nothing further. Unbeknown to me the train I should have been on was just pulling in, needless to say I missed it. Afterwards my robot phone gave me the information I was looking for in no time.
The station is convenient for the town centre, if you use the main entrance/exit, you emerge straight onto the high street. Being a junction, there's a mix of destinations and services available from here, London Victoria, Epsom, Epsom Downs, Wimbledon, Horsham, Dorking, Mitcham, Croydon, Balham, Clapham Junction. Make sure you note what platform your train is departing from, the majority of trains from Croydon terminate here, with only one an hour going beyond.
Recent events regarding the homeless person and water aside, this isn't a good station mainly due to the appalling service from both the train service and the customer service provided by Southern. It's easier to dodge rain then find a day when a Thameslink or Southern service isn't cancelled or 15 minutes late. The facilities are decent enough with lifts down to the platforms, toilets, ticket office and shops. But still, the overall service ruins it.
A well provisioned station with friendly staff, three lifts and a nice little Starbucks kiosk on platform one. It is a local hub station, so there are plenty of destinations both in central London and elsewhere. Trains to London Victoria are the most frequent from here, but you also have the Thameslink line with several central stations available, including St Pancras.
Some real moron jobsworths work here, unhelpful, customer service verging on the moronic, have twice been told by one of their cretins when asked why a train has been delayed and when I can expect to complete my journey "Don't Know mate", seriously. The sooner our rail service is nationalised the better, southern and its employees are a joke.
There are always delays, this is Britain after all. If you forget your ticket or you can't top up your oyster because the machines are broken the staff will not help you, they lack compassion. There is only one toilet available and I suspect that those who spend a lot of time in there are not using the amenities in the usual way.
I am just being nice , first station smells like piss , they always have strikes at the station . I think its the cleaners do they have cleaners. The staff are just horrible because they throw freezing water at the homelss people outside the station.
Great services but I would ask if Thameslink can have more services. Southern PLEASE put more high speed services to London otherwise lots of passengers will sleep on the slow one. Station is good but the train services . …
Sutton is normally a nice place to be depending on what part you are going to numerous coffee shops ice cream shops supermarkets clothes everything you could want it's better than Croydon by a long way more friendly for a start
Runs southern rail so not sure you can ever expect much, but not the station's fault. There are quite a few steps here but I believe there is a lift if you need it, but not certain on that, is not obviously placed if there is
Screen displaying wrong information on daily basis, clueless and unhelpful staff, also they really need to change their microphones they use to make announcements. Apart from this shamble, the station itself is ok.
Sutton is your bog standard railway station. The staff are always nice and polite. Overall the station in general is clean and tidy. The waiting area is sheltered which is convenient if it pours down with rain.
Not good is it the way water is thrown over the less fortunate. I won't be travelling your way. Hope that man is sacked and ends up in the same situation himself. He doesn't deserve a job
Platform 1 staff rude and aggressive and didn't answer polite question. Should be an ignorant bouncer rather than Southern Trains staff. Not surprising given Southern Trains reputation.
Train delayed and complete lack of customer service given out by staff. Charles Horton you need to manage this station staff and customer service extremely more effective
Rude and aggressive platform staff when politely asked how many coaches the next train would be made up of. But then what would you expect from Southern Trains...???
4 supermarkets are along high street. Both end are morrison and Saintsbury. In mid of high street you can find asdar and lidle. M&S ,wiko at the mid of street .
Unfortunately southern use this station. So don't expect much. Customer service all round could be improved. But always seems cleaning and tidy
Hello all is there a part time job at sutton station I really love trains and to help people to their destination any availablity?
Sutton station is only rail station one line. There are some good stores around it. It is nice and full of people.
Taxi drivers glad to see a resus kit on hand at Sutton station, especially with Just Eat on the side of one taxi.
Famous for its seeds and I believe the first McDonald's in the UK Like the new T. K. Max and Monday market …
Have haidreses and train station kiosk next to police station pub Morrison's supermarket PIZZA very nice town
Found it a bit difficult to find platform 4, but this is probably due to alcohol and not a lack of signage.
Decent station. Good information boards and helpful staff help make your journey that little bit easier.
A pretty standard station. No frills and no facilities to speak of. Generally clean but understaffed.
Rail workers hear are MAGGOTS throwing water over the homeless...you will be remembered trust me
Em londres não existem bairros. Na minha opinião sutton é uma das melhores regiões pra morar.
Bad black taxi service near the station. Always shouting and arguing with other users.
Friendly town. No more department stores but good cinema and places to eat/drink
Very useful and safe, no delays all time the right time programmed
