If I could give my experience 0 stars I would to be honest. I waited a week to write this review because I'm not really one to write negative reviews but I really felt I needed to share my experience with Erika. I was at the salon for 8 hours (the longest it's taken anyone to do my hair) and still left the salon with my hair looking like i hadn't just gotten it done. I am a very light blonde and my roots were brassy and dull when I left. She did 3 different toners on me and washed them out immediately instead of letting the first toner sit like every other salon has ever done on my hair. She was an hour late to my appointment (I was her first client in the morning) and even when she got there she kept leaving me for long periods of time before I was completely foiled. I found her on Instagram and thought I was going to love my experience and I really wanted to, but I ended up paying $190 for a full highlight with no cut and for a service that was the worst I have ever had. Then I had to pay even more to have someone at another salon fix what she had done because I didn't want to step foot in that salon again. I definitely won't be going back or recommending anyone to this salon. Update: 9/23 - 25 days later this salon proceeded to make the situation worse. No one reached out to me days or a week after my appointment in August. Instead 25 days later the stylist sent me a text asking if there was anything they could do for me to take my review down. I proceeded to tell her that the only thing that would make this right for me would be a full refund. She responded that the salon doesn’t offer refunds and she was thinking more that I could come in for some blowouts/deep conditioners. I told her I didn’t feel that was enough to compensate for how much time I was at the salon, how many times she left me sitting there unfoiled, and how I left upset with how my hair looked. Not to mention I had to pay someone else to fix it. A very experienced stylist who said it didn’t even look like I had just gotten my hair done. She then basically told me that I was wrong and sent me 6 different before and after pictures. I have gone to multiple salons with my hair in the same condition as the before photos she sent me and they had ZERO problem getting my hair to what I asked for. I have literally never had this problem with any stylist I have seen. Hence the reason I have never written a bad review before this one. I have also never asked for a refund anywhere else. So instead of making this situation better, 25 days later they just made me mad all over again. I will make sure I let everyone I know not to go to this salon.

Oh my goodness, I did not post a review for studio 1514; but it appears as though I did nearly a year ago...and after 500+ views I have just now received a message about it~ so very odd. What a peculiar thing to do with someone else's gmail account. ...weirdos *time to change my acct psswds..again..smh* Anyway- let's set things straight then, eh...First of all, rarely do I leave reviews; b/c I'm super private; and don't like to share publicly the places I frequent. Lastly, I would NOT contribute to a negative social media reputation for any person or business; that's simply NOT my style. I would def not give anyone 1 star, nor write whatever gibberish "rrr" means . I mean; whaaaa? Was that supposed to be a dark scary growl in the night? ..a random urge to "virtually" trill that famous Spanish Double R at unsuspecting google review readers "Olé" ? ..Maybe the impersonation of a car that won't start .. hmmm..I could go all day with that one; but I'll spare you-‍♀️ (it's obvious a pirate did it anyway...duh) Jokes aside, I gotta make sure to say to anyone reading this; I've always had a great experience at Studio 1514. I sure hope anyone who read that bogus review by "me" did not choose another salon due to this. I love all the ppl at the salon and know they are all great at what they do. Katie R. is no longer there making mermaids since opening her own salon, but Erika is an amazing mermaid maker, along with many others! They are experts in their industry; brilliant colorists, full-range stylists who consult w/one another for best results for clients; and just happen to provide a brilliant venue ambiance as well. So, to you guys at the salon, I wish I'd known this fraudulent post was up for so long unbeknownst to me...wish you would have asked me..but, I hope this legit post helps those looking for a salon they can trust! all my best~ katie k

I can’t speak on the hair treatment, but I was left extremely disappointed with Haneen El-Hallaq, who does eyebrows and eyelashes at this salon. I was here in October 2018. Not only was she unprepared for my appointment (her excuse being she was in New York the day before and doesn’t do lash perms often — so she didn’t have the necessary chemicals), she was rude and had me wait close to an hour for my appointment. Possibly the most ridiculous part of this appointment was that I had reached out to her earlier in the morning to ask if it would be OK to switch the appointment to a later time. She said no because she was “all booked for the day.” This wasn’t true, because when I got there, she asked if I wanted to wait or reschedule for later in the day. Had she checked her inventory to make sure everything was set to go before hand, this all could have been avoided. As if that wasn’t bad enough, when she returned from buying the chemicals, she said: “I went all the way to Mesquite to get these treatment chemicals” — as if she was doing me a favor in getting what was needed for my appointment. As this was my first eyelash perm, I did not feel at ease. I was shocked that she wouldn’t own up to her mistake and was disgruntled — she was irresponsible and unprepared , as a professional should never be. It’s none of my business what someone does before or after my appointment, but a professional is expected to be prepared for ALL his or her appointments, without excuse. It’s necessary to check your inventory and guarantee success for a client before even accepting an appointment. If it were me, I would have given a discount or some kind of gift — not including another service — to make it up to the customer. The perm lasted one month at best. I definitely will not be back nor will recommend.

Went into Studio 1514 a month ago and had a great experience with a haircut, so I decided to make an appointment for today to do a full highlight. I took the day off of work and drove 30 minutes to the appointment. When I arrived at noon the hairstylist said that her manager made her take a walk in to put in extensions and it was going to take her 2-3 hours to finish and she asked if I could come back later. I could not. Then I asked if they could move the walk in to later since she was….a walk in. They said they could not and asked if I could reschedule. As nice as the stylist is I will never be back as this was completely unprofessional by management. The appointment was confirmed at least twice and this was a huge disregard for the clients time. I do not recommend trying Studio1514

I have picked this salon because I was staying in a close hotel and had a wedding to attend to . Called after looking them up on google map . The girl who picked up the phone put me with Louis . . He was amazing. Did my hair twice during my stay . The 4 stars because I did straight blow out first day for $50 + tip Second time around I did wavy blow out paid $60 + tip . They are way overpriced because they are in downtown and they take advantage of us who are visiting in those hotels from other destinations.

Was a good place that I drove from Mckinney to downtown for every 8-10 weeks but when my hair was admittedly not done as planned I received an an apology and FULL charge the next visit! That was my last visit after reviewing things and being told - thought we resolved this when I apologized, maybe we’re not a good fit for you... yes you’re right, if you think only an apology serves to fix an admitted stylist error it is better to live on! They are independent so you know who you are - Alex.

Brittny is the best at what she does! It was my first time getting my hair done here & she made my experience awesome! I’m very happy of the outcome!!! She’s informative, professional and so sweet . She worked her magic on my hair & made sure I got the hair I’ve always wanted and also keep my hair healthy. I really love that she took her time on my hair and being very patient and she explained through the whole process with me. Highly recommended!!

I cannot say enough about Brayana other than she’s amazing! She’s been doing my hair for about 2 years now and does not disappoint. We have done all over cut, color, highlights, balayage to extensions and always delivers exceptional service. She’s passionate about her work and wants you to feel your best. I make the drive from North Frisco as she’s the only one who can touch my hair. I would highly recommend this sweet & super talented lady! ♥️

I been coming here for almost 2 years even though i don't come in too often lol, about every 6 months lol but i love my stylist Michelle. Always on point with my haircuts. Takes her time with my hair. I usually book around 4:30 sometimes 5 bc of crazy work schedule. I have thick hair and my appts take about 2 - 2 1/2hrs She stays after closing & when she comes close to being done with my hair she still asks if i want it curled or anything.

My biggest regret was getting my hair done here before my cousins wedding. The hairdressers tools were super cheap and it took him forever to blow out my hair and style. As soon as I got back to the hotel it was all flat and a mess. To top it all off he totally fried my hair. The girl on the phone said it would cost $50 and they charged me $65. I could've done a better job with my Dyson blowdryer. Huge mistake.

So unprofessional. I've had my hair cut here once, it was so load, stylists were gossiping about other clients and other stylists were asking how to do color/styles to other stylists. I tried to book another appointment and got canceled on day-of because the person doesn't specialize in short hair. It's a LOB, not a pixie cut. For a place downtown, this place is so unprofessional and overall cheap.

Stevie was AMAZING! She did such a beautiful job on my balayage. I had never had my hair professionally dyed before and she made me feel super comfortable and confident in her abilities. She made sure to let me know every step that was happening so I could understand the process. The results came out amazing. The salon was clean, modern, and had a cool vibe. I will definitely be coming back!!

Front desk friendly. The salon was decent. Erica was always running behind and my appointments took forever. Her work is okay with extensions but color she has no experience. I am overall disappointed and upset I wasted my time and money driving all the way to Dallas especially downtown to receive such bad service and overly expensive. Don’t waste your time with Erica.

I wanted my hair dyed blue, but instead I got jet black hair that faded almost immediately. The guy did not listen when I pointed out missed spots and just generally did not seem like he wanted to be there until a friend showed up and they discussed parties and getting wasted after work. Definitely not worth the cost if you can’t even get the color you asked for.

New in Dallas. I'm very picky with my hair person. Friend recommend Amanda. I did a consultation first. I liked what she said she can do. Went in a week later to get my hair done. Wow what an amazing job. She is a perfectionist. She made sure everything is even. She took her time. I'm so lucky to have found her in this new city I live in.

Four years ago, I had my hair done at Studio 1514 for my Mary Kay Awards Ceremony night. I came to Dallas once again for Mary Kay Seminar Awards, and of course I went back to Studio 1514! The stylists are talented and fast, and their pricing is very fair. I am always thrilled with the results!

Your go to girl is KARLA!!!! I sit in that chair and trust her vision completely and I don't say that often! Aside from being highly professional she is super friendly. I get so many compliments on my hair once I visit her, and walk out feeling like a total BABE! LOVE IT!!!

Totally love this place just moved to Dallas from Orlando FL and checked this place out for a haircut and color correction. I highly recommend Cindy Bui as your go to hair stylist! She was amazing and super nice! Loved her not to mention she did a superb job!!!

Dion has been cutting my hair for 20 years and always happy to see his smiling face at Studio 1514. The space is east to find and has a great chill vibe. There is a great parking lot very close but be sure to pay, there is a guard always watching !!!

Nice salon with attractive environment. Staff is friendly but having to wait more than 30 minutes even though I had a scheduled appointment was irritating. I will give them another try when they open back up again.
