On my first visit to Stand Your Ground I was extremely impressed with the knowledgeable and professional and friendly staff. Although I had a coupon to save 30% if I ordered online from the manufacturer, today I invested four hours in a round trip to support a business that I think provides a very valuable service to the community. I waited in the parking lot for 40 minutes until my appointment, then went in. I was greeted immediately and then shoes were brought for me to try. I was extremely disappointed in the selection available, because when I made the appointment I asked them to confirm that the style and size I wanted was in stock. I was told that old and new versions were available, and that some were on sale. I had tried on one pair when the person helping me went to check the stockroom. She was intercepted by another employee and asked to serve her customer. While she was doing that, a different employee asked to to help another customer. I think I would have been ignored far longer if a fourth employee has not pointed out that the person had been in the middle of my fitting. At no time did anyone ask if I minded if the person helping me - a customer with an appointment - served other people. I was tempted to walk out without buying the shoes I had tried on, but instead I decided to buy them and not look at anything else. I did explain while paying that I was made to feel like a second class customer. I don’t expect to return. I can get a better selection of the same shoe online at a lower price. I went to Stand Your Ground expecting the same great service experience I had last time. They did not deliver. No stars for service or selection, two stars for accessibility - parking at door, level entrance, spacious waiting room, and wide corridors.

I have weird & unique feet that makes it incredibly difficult to shop for footwear. We must've tried every store in Kingston that sells shoes and couldn't find anything. We were at our absolute wits end. I almost cried at our first visit because it was the first time I have ever been able to enter a shoe store and leave with a pair of shoes that actually feel good to wear. I haven't gotten shoes from anywhere else since. Every single employee I have interacted with has gone above and beyond to help me and refused to let me leave with anything that I wasn't absolutely 100% happy and comfortable with. They do not take "it pinches a little but it's fine" for an answer. If you're the kind of person who even slightly struggles to find shoes that fit properly I HIGHLY recommend giving Stand Your Ground a look. If the length of this review hasn't already demonstrated, I cannot overstate how much time, effort, and pain Stand Your Ground has saved me. I hope they remain in business for a very long time because I can not and will not buy shoes from anywhere else.

Yesterday was the first day I have been in to Stand Your Ground in Kingston since Linda retired. Linda looked after me at every visit prior to that. Yesterday at my appointment Hayley was the staff member helping me. Hayley was very helpful and patiently tried a few pair of sandals to ensure the right fit prior to ordering. She also called their supplier and was able to find another colour other than black for a second pair I was looking to purchase. It's a busy spot at the front of the store with all the people coming and going so if I could suggest anything it would be that clients make an appointment before coming to the store so that the appointments of other customers are not interrupted by people coming in to the store without an appointment and expecting to be attended to right away. I recently went to Stand Your Ground for both new footwear and orthotics and was incredibly impressed with the professionalism and service. After being given advice on the footwear I needed and had pictures taken of my feet for the creation of the orthotics I returned to pick them up and try them out. The pedorthist (Matt) advised me to take them home and wear them around the house to see how they felt. I returned and let him know my ankle still felt like it rolled a bit so I left him the shoes to make modifications. Got the shoes back quickly and the modifications are so great that I don't even think about my foot/ankle anymore, even when golfing. The job done was so amazing and professional. Thanks so much!

I have had the pleasure of working with Linda (before she retired) for a number of years. And her compassion towards helping people is intoxicating, however it is also shared by Amy. Amy is patient and will give you the right advise and recommend solutions that will make a difference in your life. I struggle with foot pain and continue to use services at stand your ground; and I am never disappointed. The staff at the front of the house is also very personable and pleasant to deal with. Danielle at the reception will make sure you get help as soon as possible! Overall an awesome experience for me and I will continue to use their services.

Both over the phone and in person I found the customer service to be rather poor. I came in with a unique and complex foot & leg brace and despite briefing the women assisting me on my current situation she was not very accommodating or insightful as to what shoes would be best. I felt rushed and uncomfortable. The shoes I purchased are poor quality and have had to be mended three times within three months of wear, and not even the foot that needed to accommodate the brace.

Lovely store, with cheerful, knowledgeable staff. Danielle was the one who helped me, and she was great! Patient, caring, and with the info from my 3D reading, helped me find the best shoes for my feet. She made me feel very at ease, and not rushed while I tried on a few different pairs of shoes. The Birkenstock orthotic insoles were also a great suggestion from her! I’ll definitely go back when I need another pair of shoes!

My first visit to Stand Your Ground was impressive as *Megan* made me try on "Stay-Put Toe Spacers" and I have found finally success, after 10 years of excruciating pain as a result of a careless driver! It was like Christmas! *Danielle* made my 2nd visit enjoyable as well! Great Staff and Great Selection and lots of remedies for foot pain, or foot comfort! I had to make an appointment regarding beige compression socks for wearing with sandles. On the phone I was told yes, they carry all sorts. I got there, turns out they don't. They could have told me that on the phone. I take the time to get there, go thru the safety protocol, just for them to tell me they don't carry them and can't order them. Try to but local but this is frustrating.

Stand Your Ground recently made some adjustments to a pair of newly purchased Birkenstock sandals. I needed the heel on the left sandal to be raised. Stand Your Ground had made the same adjustment to two previous pairs of Birkenstock sandals. As ever, the work, which was undertaken this time by Matt, was exemplary. I came to stand your ground having already worn orthotics made by another technician associated with a local Physio clinic. I can tell you that the service, expertise and product I received from Stand Your Ground was superior in every way. I have had the orthotics for several weeks now and they are finally doing the job they should be doing. Wish I had gone here first.

These folks are truly awesome they have the most update/modern technology on the market today. Their customer service is second to none all I can say to that is outstanding. My first visit to Stand Your Ground was reassuring. The young lady who assisted me was very polite and courteous at all times. She was exceptionally observant, answering and explaining in detail all my questions. It was very ensuring that she had the knowledge and understanding of her job. I wish Megan every success in her chosen medical profession.

The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. They were extremely patient while assisting my teenager with choosing new shoes and making sure the shoes were going to have the right support to eliminate the knee, leg, and foot pain. The staff member also immediately picked up on and used the correct pronouns that my child uses, which was appreciated.

I had foot pain and felt I needed better shoes and perhaps orthotics. Geneva approached me, asked me how she could help and before I knew it, I had a few selections of shoes and orthotics to try out. The help I had was thoughtful and not pushy. A month later and my shoes and orthotics are still terrific and my feet feel great. I highly recommend.

Patient, professional, courteous and efficient - from diagnostic digital imaging and video analysis to digital shoe-sizing and appropriate footwear choices, Stand Your Ground delivered big time. The owner Linda is very knowledgeable and kind. My first appointment I had to bring my 3 year old son and she was so sweet and patient with him, even letting him help her. The product I got was high quality and works great for me. The staff were very nice as well. I wouldn't go anywhere else! I would recommend for anyone and everyone!

She took care assessing my needs for footwear which would best suit my gait, foot size and previously purchased orthotics. We went to Stand Your Ground without an appointment and they helped my husband right away. They checked his walk, measured his feet and he was lucky to be able to try and purchase 2 pairs of shoes, that fit him properly. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. I would highly recommend them.

Thanks to the staff at Stand your ground, I have my insoles and they feel great. I also want to thank Megan for the great customer service in picking out my new walking shoes. My new HOKA Bondi 8’s are a great fitting shoe and I felt the difference as soon as I put them on.

Highly recommend Stand Your Ground for orthotics. I went to Stand Your Ground because they use digital technology for precise measurements of the feet. The measurements are not only precise but they are far more accurate than the traditional molding/casting method.
