rating? -1,000,000 I was 1 of the only 2 black women in that night when my girlfriend and I (with a couple of white friends) had beer bottles thrown at us... 2 MINUTES IN!! My friend was VERY upset so we went to the washroom, cleaned ourselves up, and went to the bouncers who said that since they didn't see anything, what we told them was 'heresy' & they can't do anything about it. We then spoke with a front bartender who laughed us off saying that if we want our money back, we're not going to get it. At this point, I'm PISSSED OFF & my friend just wants to leave. I track down the manager who I've replayed the entire incident with (including his 2 indifferent employees) and he said "I will give you the $5 back, BUUUUUT I don't have to..." All we really wanted was a sincere apology that this happened under their roof and that what had happened wasn't acceptable. Instead, we were given nonsense excuses and what seemed like a response in which HE was doing US a favour... We should not have to talk to 3 different employees for someone to empathize with our situation... & WE DIDN'T EVEN GET THAT!! In conclusion, if you are someone of colour, do not go to this establishment. This is not the first time something like this has happened, and clearly, the employees won't care about your safety/security.
Once upon a time I would have told everyone I knew to go to this place. Not anymore. After waiting in the coat check line for over 30 minutes, we were told "it's full". After already paying cover and buying drinks while waiting. My friends and I were forced to try and hide our jackets. Mine was quickly stolen - along with a very important medical device. Guess I shouldn't put that much faith in people... After calmly approaching security - who referred me to a "manager" I was told they would not assist with security footage. Not we "can't", but we "won't". "We are not liable" - aka we just don't care. A msg to stages management: The LEAST you could do would be to not immediately brush me aside when I mention a life-saving medical device was stolen. Time to go to a club not owned by this guy.
Went to Stages against my will to go dancing. I don't even like dancing. I got there and the music was too loud, the speakers sounded awful and the floors were disgusting. I met a girl on the dance floor and we hit it off. I should have known it was a bad idea because she was at Stages voluntarily. We went back to her place and her room was a complete mess. I couldn't believe it but I powered through and got the deed done. I left because I couldn't spend another minute at her place without calling TLC to have her on and episode of Hoarders. The next morning I woke up at home with a wicked headache and a case of pink eye. What I've learned from this is not to go to Stages. Go to Stages, get pink eye. Not a deal that I consider worth it.
Security didnt even check my coat, just patted my front pockets. People were smoking vape pens EVERYWHERE, saw maybe two guys get told to put it away because they were blasting huge clouds. Floor was sticky and broken beer bottles everywhere. Fist fight broke out and the musicians security was the only one who stepped in to stop it. Bouncers just stood there. Drinks are overpriced, and the glasses are dirty. Service is super slow (you literally have to wave your money out in front of them to get served)and you will be waiting in line outside at least 20 minutes longer than any other bar in town. Hadnt been here in a couple years, now I remember why I stopped going. Would go to The Spot before going back here.
Went in at 11pm paid 10$ for me and my friend for cover , one of the bartenders took a photo of us above the dance floor and we left to go get food quick.we went back in around 11:41 By the time we came back my stamp didn’t glow and the lady was telling me they don’t wash off as her was on for 3 weeks. Clearly mine washed off or wasn’t put on correctly, The bouncer said he remembered my friend but not me, we showed them the TIME STAMPED photo of us in stages that night with the same outfits on less then an hour earlier We paid an extra $5 to get in and the cover lady was rude and yelling at us. Don’t waste your time going here,

Bouncer with beard has denied entry of over 6 completely sober patrons who have not had a single drink on multiple seperate occasions, using the "too drunk" excuse excluding entry of a whole group of POC, and allowing a group of clearly inebriated caucasian teenagers in without verification of identification. at this point this feels like a racial issue is at hand between the security and patrons, and this needs to be rectified immediately as this is the fifth night I should have been allowed in and was denied entry for what appears to be my skin color.

My friends and I were visiting kingston for the weekend and Stages was one place we really wanted to go. Unfortunately we were not able as the bouncer refused to let me in as my drivers license ID “did not look enough like me.” Not once has this happened to me in the US. The bouncer did not scan my ID and said the only way I could get in was if I had a health card (which they don’t issue in america). When my friends and I asked to speak to a manager, the bouncers refused to get one stating that “it wouldn’t make a difference.” Will not be attempting to go here again! Overall awful experience.
It was pretty fun for the most part but at the end of the night me and a few girls just wanted water before we left and the lady at the bar wouldn't give us water she said it was against protocol to give out water. We went to go ask the manager and then he took us to another bar and the other bar gave us water. The girl was completely rude to us. And before all that we tried getting a hold of them to get on guest list and they never returned our calls. So I called again the night before and he's like oh your on the guest list. We showed up and the girl said we weren't on the guest list....
Awful experience. My friends and I went all the way to Canada just so that we could all go to this club. However, after waiting in a huge line one of the bouncers denied my friend at the door, even though she is 21 and used her legal ID. The bouncer refused to even scan the ID or look at her other forms such as her school ID, her debit card, her birth certificate, etc. Eventually we asked to see and manager because we spent so much money on our trip and just wanted to get in, and the bouncers refused to get a manager for us to speak to. Will never be going here again.
I'm hoping this place has a fresh start with a reopening after the pandemic. Before closing it was still a lively place to go with friends on a weekend, however some things were lacking. The staff was extremely unprofessional and undertrained. (Some people that could be on Jon Taffers Bar Rescue). However the owners hearts have always been behind their business and I will always love the location. Hoping for the absolute best when things are back up and running fully. (Will update soon)
Stages is the place where am I the most me. The bouncers let me be myself. I can wear anything I want (sweats or nips out) I can be who ever I want (first year queens girl or exchange student from Australia). Stages has allowed me to discover, despite a complete lack of classical training, that I am a world class dancer and I am now pursuing professional dancing!!! Thanks Stages, for allowing me to discover and solidify my career. If only walls could talk, amirite?!??
Traveled across the country to see what the hype was about and I absolutely regret it. Waited on line for too long to realize staff allows people to cut the line so you best believe I tried it. I got closer to the entrance cutting the line and then they told us they were at max capacity as staff started fishing for people they knew and people willing to pay staff them to let them in. Never coming back to this place.
Every weekend there is something different happening at stages so you aren't going to be disappointed, however that also means that there is almost always a long line for stages as well. Cover is cheap always under 10, but I highly suggest pre-ing before hand because the drinks inside can get a little pricey. So if you like the club scene stages is a good place to head to for a night out.
This club has a negative reputation in Kingston and unfortunately it is accurate. The "manager" is extremely unprofessional and seems to have zero customer service skills. The club is dirty and literally stinks like rodent feces. I'm not sure how the bathrooms would pass a basic health inspection. So many liabilities in this place; women in particular seem to get overserved.
RUDE coat check girls wouldn’t give me my coat despite describing it, also showed them a picture of my number for my coat & they refused to give it to me still. One of them was literally making fun of me for getting upset. Don’t know why they felt the need to pick on me for wanting my coat, probably bored with their life

Like all three girls in this photo are underage and know them personally, I am almost 19 and wanted to come to stages for my birthday, I will not be doing so since my sisters 15 year old friends hang out there too apparently. Either you don’t ID, don’t care enough to check even slightly if it’s a fake or genuinely enjoy having minors in your establishment. Disgusting.
My shirt was ripped and nothing was done about it. I was kicked out and thankfully the person who ripped it was but the only helpful person was Raheem. Matt the manager of security was impatient with me and no ID’s were taken after the fact. The photo is of “Matt” the man who did not help me after my shirt was ripped which gave me marks on my skin causing bruises.
This is a horrible and dangerous place. Bouncers attacked my stepson for no reason and almost beat him to death...when a female bystander who didn't even know him saw what was happening and tried to intervene one of the bouncers punched her in the face. When police came he was blamed by bouncers for everything and charged. Don't go to Stages. It's an unsafe place!
Coat check staff seems to subscribe to an alternative facts version of how to count money. Coat check is $3/coat, I gave them 3 coats and $14 and they claimed I only gave them $9. The manager and staff refused to hear my complaints and said I could either proceed into the club or I could go home but I wasn’t getting my money back. Such a lit night!
Extremely disappointed in management allowing the individual who assaulted me in the DJ booth back into the premises after I had him escorted out with security twice. Extremely unprofessional and posed a huge safety risk to me and my friends that night. Found out later he “knew” the owner and would have no trouble getting back in.
Went here on a Friday with a guest list, and was told to pay cover since the guest list ended at 11pm even though their website clearly states that it ends at 11:30. Music wasn't even good, sometimes you don't want to dance to imovie instrumentals. We didnt want to pay after the unprofessionalism we faced so we left.
Have people ever think about what stages influence the nearby neighborhood? Every Saturday morning, the street outside stages is full of garbage. Also, if you just pass by stages when its open, there will be plenty of buzzed people. Sometimes there are even puke on the street. And it is really loud at night.
At least go here once during your undergrad if you are a Queen’s Student. It’s not clean, half the stalls in the washroom doesn’t lock, the drinks are expensive, the lines are long af, the staff isn’t friendly. BUT it’s a great place to just let go if you’ve had one too many drinks at a pre.
Wrost bar ever . The bouncer are racist and use there power to do wathever they want . Seriously never go there it’s dangerous!!! The bouncer really do wathever they want even you did nothing wrong . Seriously never go there !!!
These bouncers are awesome!!!! My friend tore her ACL and the bouncers made sure she could get out and paid for our cab home…. Never been anywhere that cared so much about the people there, the bouncers deserve the world!
Club is of decent size for the city. Dance floor is tiny (filled with drunks). Bartenders are great. Security is polite, didn't quite like the music selection. But hey... Few shots and will make the night dance away.
I’ve been going to this place for 9 years now, back in the day it was ran great! Coat check always available, security being actual security and knowing the difference between the rights of guests and workings.
Floors are always sticky, terrible music with no beat and the bass us waaay to much, drinks are always wayyy too expensive. If you're a woman make sure you stay with your friends its not a safe place for women.
Don’t like French people, a friend of mine got kicked out because he didn't understand what the security was saying (the security spoke fast English and didn't try to understand and kicked him out of the club)
Bouncing club but unfortunately they can’t be trusted with jackets. They lost a Patagonia jacket and sent the bouncers in claiming we never handed it in. If you don’t have a jacket it’s a great place.
If you know about Stages I don't have to say much more than its name. If you're unfamiliar I just have one advise for you. Make sure to be decently drunk to make this a somewhat enjoyable experience.
Under-qualified staff, went for one night, waited over 2 hours for coat check alone, would just let aggressive people in first. Very sad place, much different than it was 3 years ago. Embarrassing.
I love stages but got kicked out tonight. Worst experiences ever. Was in there for MAX 2-5 minuites and got no refund when wrongly kicked out. Attitude from workers who are power/money hungry.
Absolutely disgusting. I, a female was physically assaulted by a male and as I ran for safety was not allowed access to my coat and private property. This is not a safe place for woman p
All the local skanks in one place. And there picky on who goes in.... like its the place to b blaaah.. fights outside all the time. Just bring 5 rubbers if u want to go lol
The only place in kingston with good music and good service from the staff. The people in stages can be super sketchy sometimes but overall a fun place to go.
Worst bouncers, they work at Kingston for a living and act like they something special haha broke insecure losers. They kick you out when they get jealous
Always a fun time. Great service and the only times I got asked to leave I was walking sideways. Good music and people are there to have fun like me.
Kicked me out after like 4 drinks, for no good reason. I went out for a smoke and they said I was cut off for no good reason and said I had to leave
They are literally allowing underaged students into here. It’s a lawsuit waiting to happen

Couldn’t even get in. Think astroworld in kingston. I was stuck in a mosh pit of people in front of the entrance. Definitely not worth it
The security was friendly, bartenders as well. Music was good. People were also friendly. I went there with my classmates and liked it.
Guy went crazy, bouncers and owner took his side. The people involved should sue.

Stages and The Spot employ the same people. If you've heard about The Spot, you should run away. Especially if you're underage.
i went the night r3hab was performing and it was unbelievable!!! best lighting ive seen in a club and no fights or conflicts
Fist fought my step dad here once at 4am. Great place to settle generational feuds and other familial conflicts.
Horrible and disgusting. Can help it if its the only club in Kingston. It's like a mating jungle here.
One of the more high quality clubs in Kingston but very crowded so not much room to do anything.
Don’t waste your cash here, the owner is a complete goof

sick beats. expensive beers. too many underage humans running about. but i had a good time.
Four words: Sticky. Stinky. Sweaty. Deafening. Will be returning soon. Love this place.
Good set up, horrible music, mixes and dj'ing. Cant fully enjoy the experience.
It's a great place for having a great time, good music. It's an amazing place
It's been around and around and around! Always a spot for the younger crowd.
Ah must go night light club for dancing and having a good time
Horrible bouncers, ale house and other places way better.
Music is garbage and hasn't changed in the past 5 years.
Love the place the dance floor is just really small
Definitely looks to be a first / second year bar.
Bonne endroit ou aller dancer et faire la fête .
Great music, great atmosphere, great experience!
Sometimes its the bees knees, sometimes its not
Always a good time, but also always packed!
Definitely the best night club in Kingston.
Kingston's attempt at a sketchy nightclub.
