Past student. Went on to study Science and got a degree in Applied Chemistry. Then went on to win an European Union Marie Curie Scholarship from the University of Cambridge which meant I obtained a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Bordeaux, France. Lived in France for 5 years fully paid during studies. My European PhD scholarship involved free fully paid trips to Australia, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, UK, Canary Islands, Netherlands, Spain - while fully paid to live in Bordeaux, France. Little did i know I when i picked Chemistry and French in St. Michael's for the Leaving that id end up with a PhD in Chemistry from a French University. Most if not all of my leaving cert class went onto get Masters and a few other PhD's. Only downside of my school days was the unnecessary heavy schoolbag left me with a badly curved back - id recommend using tablets instead of books

Just a little feedback for the start of school. My daughter got dizzy and then sick from having to wear the mask. She needs to be focused and able to learn, to communicate and enjoy her time in school. Maybe kids could wear the mask only to cover the mouth but not the nose so they can get a bit of air. This is only the start of school, going forward we need to consider how they will be affected and heavy bags, homework and transition in adolescence was enough they had to deal with until now.

Best school ever. Teachers and staff are above amazing. We have received so much support during online school when in lock down. A big thank you to everyone working in St Michael. You are all the very best. Every student dream. Helpful, supportive, encouraging.
