"A very beautiful and newly-refurbished 1770s church - I think the only church in London right on the river bank"
Our Daughter Ella was a most lucky girl to marry her husband at St Mary's Church last Saturday 11th April.2015 Words cannot express how moving the service was in this beautiful old church. Her Mother and Father thank the Rev Peter Wintgens for conducting the service with such dignity and reverence. Organist Tyrone Whiting left all the congregation spellbound. Wonderful day thank you x.
This is the most picturesque little church tucked away on the south bank of the River Thames sandwiched between modern apartment blocks, close to Battersea Square. Sit and read a book or newspaper on lovely benches while watching the River go by. There's a great little bright orange pop up coffee and snacks ţrailer in the grounds that serves great coffee and pastries. .
I lived with my family in Park Cottage Battersea Church Road when the second world war began. When there were bad raids we sometimes had to go to the church for safety as we had no shelter at the house. I must have been between 3 and 5 years old. The memories are still quite strong. I never realised what a grand history it has.
For a quiet calm late morning service on Sunday, meet and interact with others, make conversation with others. Drop by to know more about the history of the church and you will find people ready to welcome you. I felt a part of the church (not a stranger) on my first visit about 8 years ago. I still like it there.
A very beautiful and newly-refurbished 1770s church - I think the only church in London right on the river bank. Wonderful music. Lovely Book of Common Prayer and Choral Evensong services as well as more family-oriented services. A great place to worship and enjoy.
St Mary's Church, Battersea, is the oldest of the churches in Battersea in the London Borough of Wandsworth and the burial grounds of Benedict Arnold. And Where M.W.Turner Is Said To Have Painted The River Thames From The Vestry Window
Turner, Blake just to mention a few have worshipped here over the years. The regular Sunday service has an intelligent and modern approach. With a genuine Georgian interior, it's a delight to visit and perhaps take in a service.
The area has changed a lot since I first visited here. Lovely little church on the edge of the Thames at Battersea.

Wonderful Georgian building, lots of steps but there is a lift down to the crypt! I was there for a music workshop but could imagine this would be a great place to come to worship.
We stop by regularly to light a candle and say a prayer when out dog walking on the river. It's a very old and interesting church. Every time you visit you see something new.
Peaceful place to do a stop on a bike ride, great view and there is a little cafe.

Such a charming & quaint little hitch hidden amongst the huge surrounding buildings. This was our local church and we had my uncles memorial service there today. More
Beautiful church. Well worth a visit. And if you're a history buff, this is the location of the gravesite of the treacherous traitor, Major General (Benedict Arnold)
Went to visit Benedict Arnolds grave located in the crypt. The crypt has been converted to a pre school but the grave markers are still available for viewing.
Such a beautiful church, St John Bosco College had their Christmas concert, great performance from everyone and we all had a wonderful time.

Hired their hall for a party a few years ago and they were absolutely amazing and the space and facilities were great.
Finally managed to get inside and look closely at the stained glass of Benedict Arnold and William Turner and more...
Great place to visit. Full of history, awe and wonder. People have worshipped here continuously since around 800 AD.
Closed when I tried to get in this time - lovely oldish church with Benedict Arnold burial crypt in the basement.
Really welcoming Church. I woul have given it 5 stars but none of the stained glass windows had Jesus in.
Pleasant walk and surprise to find it was burial place of Benedict Arnold the infamous American traitor.
