AVOID!!!! Believe every single bad comment they have on google reviews probably 80% of them are true because we did experience every one of them. Unfortunately, I had to give one star because there is no option as no star. We booked our stay for three nights but we had to leave on our first night. They made us pay on the property and they also tried to charge the same amount after we checked out from the place. Be prepared if you book this place that the walls are paper thin you can literally hear everything that your neighbour does literally EVERYTHING it's almost like they are in your room that's how you can hear them, we had a private bathroom but the drain in the shower just STINKS we smelled it all over our room, the bedsheets and the pillow sheets are covered with stains even found random hairs on our beds when we arrived. If something wrong going to happen during your stay the manager will refuse to talk to you and the staff will be unhelpful to resolve your problem, and if something will go wrong with your room they will offer you a room WITHOUT A DOOR which is unheard of or they offer you an UNCLEANED room with a charge of £20. This place gave me the worst night of my life and we had to leave on our first night at 2:00 am because this place was that awful. Please I'm begging you just AVOID this place!!!

**Edit: The whole weekend my party stayed here there was never hot water in the showers and there is only one late night food outlet close by (kebab shop near the Earl Of Chatham pub) which is obvs not the hotels responsibility but just worth noting.** Area best described as 'up and coming'. Cheap and cheerful, lots of fresh white paint, clean, minimalistic with colours and decoration, just the bare necessities. Shared bathrooms for some rooms. It's right opposite the DLR at Woolwich and a couple of minutes from Elizabeth Line at Woolwich with a Chinese and a Nisa under it and coffee place and pizza place around the corner. So decent location - if a little rough around the edges at night! Lots of regeneration works going on around here, still has a Saturday market behind it. High street has Superdrug, JD, Greggs - the usual suspects. A few minutes walk to some upscale pubs with decent menus and the Uber Boat to central London. Excuse the bed - forgot to take a picture before I used it!

Was off to a very bad start when I was struggling to locate the hotel. Me and my friend are both females and arrived late on a Friday night so wanted to find the hotel quickly for obvious reasons. When calling the reception I had a extremely unhelpful phone having to repeatedly confirm my name and spell it so he could locate my booking it resulted in him hanging up on me. This was a very frustrating and appalling service. When we eventually found the hotel and got to our room it was not what you would expect for and the amount you pay. The bathroom was lovely however the room only had a window and little fan to keep cool which made it very/impossible to sleep. There was a lot of damage to the actual room such as holes in the wall and stains on the sofa bed. There was also a lot of hair in the bathroom which isn’t expected when staying in a fresh room. All in all very disappointing and wouldn’t recommend or stay again.

DO NOT BOOK, DODGY AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS! Female travellers beware! Despite booking 3 months in advance our stay was cancelled by the hotel on the day we arrived. Learning us stranded in London without a place to stay. The hotel claimed our card was declined - they say they tried to take payment the day before the booking. This wasn’t in the T&C - it was pay on arrival, as is standard for most hotels. And the card worked fine and was used on the day of arrival to pay for emergency last minute accommodation - costing us twice what we were due to pay for the booking. The hotel offered us some very dodgy alternative accommodation to the room we booked - sharing a space with a total unknown male stranger (I am female) divided by a curtain and no bathroom. Shocking! I would have felt incredibly unsafe. The whole set up was very suspicious, I suspect we got off lightly. I strongly advise - DO NOT BOOK, DODGY AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS!

First off it was a little hard to find, as there is no sign that says Simple Stay. There is, however, a hotel sign, and the entrance is just next to a Chinese restaurant. It's 2 minutes walk from the station. The room is nice, the bathroom is so big I didn't realise it has a shower. Lots of cubbord space and a TV in the cubbord, so you can close it off when you don't need it. The desk is in front of the cubbord so can't open two of the doors. It has a fridge, kettle, tea, coffee, creamers, milk, iron board, hair dryer, and extra heating. We do not need the heating. The room is warm (has floor heating) and we've slept with the window open in November, so might be worth looking into from management but better than being freezing cold. Windows don't close all the way in one side but the curtains takes the worst of the draft.

The location is always fantastic, but the hotel or whatever it is called is really frustrating. Toilet and bathroom very far away, in fact going to the ground floor, and crossing 2 or 3 passages to get to the toilet which you may even be occupied upon your arrival. I cant count the number of people using it. The shower barely run well, last night there was no hot water for me and my little kid to shower after a long day stress. This morning, we waited for over an hour while queuing up to use the bathroom. Had to check out without tooth brushing and bathing. No one at the reception to complain to. I had to travel back with my kid in a very rough state.

No hot water, shared bathroom was disgusting, bins were never emptied and nothing was cleaned. The reason was that due to Covid, staff would not enter the rooms unless there's an emergency, but I think it was an excuse not to hire more staff or buy protective gear like masks and gloves for them. The place was more like a hostel than a hotel and I would not recommend at all for that price. The one gentleman at the desk was the only person we saw but we only saw him at check in, so it was impossible to bring up any issues at all. The desks were abandoned after we received the keys.

Very well positioned not far from Elizabeth line underground (Woolwich stop), room was ok compared with price paid.. some stuff as some tv Channel or air conditioning was not working properly as well as sofa in our room has many history on it and should be changed it but room in general was fresh and renovated, cleaning of facilities was good and people in the reception were nice and helpful.

It took me a while to find the hotel which was at the side of the building pictured in the publicity photo. Also, there is no signage saying 'Simple Stay'; it just says 'Hotel' which seems a bit seedy. I would recommend changing this. I nearly changed my mind and went elsewhere, but once I got in it was fine. Very helpful, polite staff and a large clean room and bathroom high up overlooking the urban landscape. Very handy location for the O2 as there are various buses 161 or 462 going to North Greenwich or the DLR across the road.

After being let down by another place to stay the amazing lady at the desk managed to find us a room. We was shown our room and keys. We had a room with a private bathroom. The room was lovely bright and spacious... the bath room was really nice too! Busses to 02 and dlr literally opersit you! Can't recommend this hotel enough. You literally made a bad situation better and for that we are so greatful. Only thing that may be an issue is no one to contact if need help.in the night to do with the room.

The bathroom was impressive; a good soak after a hot day's walking. The main room was spacious, and in good decorative order. I didn't much like the array of ceiling spotlights. The breakfast provision of kettle, coffee and tea-bags & milk sachets was helpful if basic. The screen panel across the (former) kitchen was "work in progress". Worst feature were the window blinds: quite inadequate. The little balcony created a quiet space and a source of ventilation.

It was a very dirty room, and there was Black hair on the bed sheets and in the bathroom, the shower was old and very cold it took like 10 minutes before it got warm, there is a noise in the bathroom that won't stop, the windows can't close for the full 100% so it's cold in the room, when they send a cleaning lady to our room, she didn't see the hair and there were bread crumbles on the floor so i don't like the hotel, and if u ask for another room they refuse to give u one.

The rooms were really spacious and very clean. The beds were comfortable and also clean. Tea and coffee were provided. The check in process was very simple and straightforward (it was self check in) and the owner was friendly. The location of the property wasn’t really great, and it was a bit hard to get there. The shared bathroom (shared among 4 rooms) was a bit inconvenient and the sound isolation was not really effective, we were hearing the noise from other rooms.

This is a great location to travel into Central London and the surrounding areas. The O2 is only 20 minutes away and now the new Elizabeth Line (Crossrail) is open you can get into London in 20 mins. At night it was a little noisy in our room but the building is situated in the middle of a busy area. The room was clean (I have stayed in a lot worse for a lot more money) the staff were friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate to go back.

The room was very clean with an excellent modern bathroom. There was a fridge in the small walk in wardrobe which was a bonus for the warm days. The area is not the best but it is a short train ride to Central London from the Elizabeth line at Woolwich station 3 mins walk away. The entrance to the hotel is at the side of the building opposite Woolwich Arsenal Station. The staff are very friendly and helpful. All in all it is good for a short stay and I felt safe and comfortable there.

Room and bathroom very clean and nice size. Fridge/iron/tea and coffee facilities all supplied. Central to all services and central London. TV signal poor so needs looking at. Shower takes about 5mins to get the hot water through but great once through. Shower room probably the best I have seen in a hotel for some while and very clean. Bed comfortable but pillows a bit hard. All in all a good stay and would use again.

This property is very calm, cool and comfortable for couples or individuals who chose to have some time off. At the heart of Woolwich centre where everything is reachable like DLR train station opposite the property, Elizabeth line which is just 4 minutes walk away from from the property, Tessco and so many things you could think of. My stay here with my partner was awesome and we'll definitely return whenever we come around.

I cannot recommend this estabilishment. Staff at reception are scammers, making you pay on the spot and then cancelling your reservation. We were lucky we had a place to stay at all. Also, with the quality of service provided, if you are picking something in a similiar price range, decent hostel closer to the center will provide of basically the same level of comfort.

Fair considering the price for London in July. Has all the basic necessities for a stay but do not expect anything extra. This place is designed for sleeping and showering nothing more. The area is well connected with Elizabeth Line and DLR but quite shady. Lots of police sirens in the night and a lot of druggies. Not the most inviting neighbourhood.

Noisy hotel, both inside and outside. Apparently popular with guests who came back in the early hours of the morning shouting and slamming doors. When I complained about this, they did nothing and apart from keeping me awake - it just made me feel unsafe. Reception is not staffed 24/7, so this feels more like a house share than a "hotel".

I stayed with my family for one night after spending a day in London. Didn't have hot water from night until we were about to checkout. When asked for fixing the issue there wasn't anyone available. It was disappointing and inconvenient especially when you are staying children. Other than that rooms were neat.

Perfectly clean and the room was very quiet with modern furnishings. Very comfortable bed. Location was perfect for getting to the O2 Arena as the bus stop was just around the corner and the train station is across the road. Staff were pleasant. I stayed for a night with my partner. The room was nice and clean. But in the middle of the night there were electric noises l. So if you are planning on staying here please bring earplugs with you. Service wise I had minimal interaction with the staff so can't comment and location wise it's perfect because it's near the public transport and the market.

Would definitely recommend if seeing a show at the O2 . Just two stops to the East on the Uber boat, and at the end of the night as most people are going West back to the capital we were straight on the boat with no queuing. Opposite the DLR station and a 2-3 minute walk from the Elizabeth line. 30 minutes to kings cross.

Nice hotel, conveniënt and near the station for busses and metro. They do not clean the rooms due to Covid, which is ok, you can leave the dirty towels outside the room, but they did not replace them, so this morning we had no towels. Otherwise big room but no window to look outside.

I was spending one night in the hotel. The room had no door, just a curtain, the sheets were dirty and the pillows were full of hair. And it was a shared bathroom, (and the bathroom was equally horrible and unclean). The lady that showed me the room was really nice, she helped us even though we said we wouldn’t stay there, these 2 stars I give them to her. But please, don’t go there!

You have to call the mentioned number, so you can get a keys to your room. I tried to call the number so I could get inside and noone answered me for 30 minutes. Thanks to this, I was late to an important business meeting. I also felt unsafe. Would not recommend this place to girls, who travel alone.

I asked for a quiet room. I got one. I asked for a water glass and was assured one would be put in my room. Err…. The older man who was on reception last night and again this morning needs a refund from the finishing school he attended. Weird place but as an ex bank the walls are very solid so all very quiet.
