Where to start! The opening hours on their sign have never been kept to in the times I've tried to pick anything up, and it appears to be completely run by a single arrogant lazy jobsworth. They should take this 'Post Office' licence away frankly, but for the local area (N18) it's the pick up point for any Parcel Force failed delivery. If you get a choice, use a different delivery company, so you won't have to visit this Office. I stood outside at 8am today, and gave up waiting at 8:20am as no-one was there. Their sign clearly says 8am for 'some services' - doesn't say which. When I called to complain the owner said "I was here at 8:30am this morning". When I told him his sign said 8am he dismissed it saying collections can only be sorted from 9am until 5:30pm. Previously I've picked up items needing a signature from the 'shop' side not the counter so he's talking b*****ks. When I've tried to collect on weekends, he'd roll up at gone 10am at times. So if you want a parcel that's been left there, I suggest you try and close to noon as possible, as I think he considers his opening times as an inconvenience and a guide time - not something that needs to be kept to.

DISGUSTING SERVICE - The old man in this post office is very rude, ignorant and disrespectful. Several times my mum and I have attempted to use this post office to collect or post parcels, as it is local - and everytime it has been an issue with this man - turning us away or telling us our parcels are not at that Post Office, when the Royal Mail tracking states otherwise. Man, If you are going to abuse power then DO NOT operate a Post Office for Royal Mail...Deliberately causing people an inconvenience for no credible reason is completely unacceptable, especially when my mother has disabilities. I will not stop complaining to Royal Mail, and I will take it to Consumers advice and directly to the Government if I have to. The younger man that works here, though he was more attentive, blasè stated "he is like that with everyone" - as if that makes his bad behaviour ok. It's ridiculous - CUT IT OUT & DO YOUR JOBS PROPERLY AND RESPECTFULLY!

The customer service at this post office is non existent. The older guy working behind the post office is unfriendly, quite rude abrupt and inconsiderate. It’s clear he doesn’t like his job. He should not be working in this customer oriented service as he doesn’t give any service. He makes one feel that we are bothering him by coming to post our mail. Also he doesn’t respect the opening times that are displayed. He decides to close the counter and turn off the lights even though there are people queuing up to post their mail or use the post office services. When confronted he just shouts come back tomorrow. This is not right and this guy should be investigated. So disappointed I will not go back there again and I am also speaking for my neighbors whom all have experienced similar incidents of very bad service. I urge you to leave your job if you are not happy there and clearly you don’t respect your customers

Can’t lie I’ve been going to this post office for years and the customer service from the old Asian man specifically is appalling. I said I had a voucher on me and needed to top up my electric and explained to him what Scottish power told me. He didn’t even give me a chance to speak and had so much attitude for no reason. If you don’t like your job by all means please LEAVE. He literally started full on shouting and arguing with me cause I said he had an attitude. I had to ask him to lower his voice cause he was shouting all of the above and then said I’m not serving you. Good! Cause I don’t want to be served by someone as sloppy and rude as you. He’s probably 40 years older than me screaming at me. Get a job you are happy I’m not be miserable to customers . Horrible customer skills. I will say the younger Asian man is very nice and I will be returning for him only.

I just want to say about my experience in this place one of the most horrible experiences, because they should have a good customer service instead of that. I just went there and by mistake asked to pickup an order and the “Sir” started screaming me and treating me badly, I told him that I was speaking to him in a good way, with respect and he wasn’t and he was more rude, and this is not the first time he treat like this the customers. So if he doesn’t like his job or he doesn’t know how treat with customers is better to think about change his profession or do something different. Because the most important in this kind of business is the costumers and more when they have good manners. Or maybe the place need another person with more sensitivity.

- 5 stars (as in minus 5 stars.) I had the misfortune of going to Silver Street post office recently to post some parcels. The man told me that I could not post them unless I paid extra for a signature per parcel even though I had already paid postage for the parcels online to be more efficient. Apparently being efficient is a bad idea for this post office. I thought post offices were places to easily send parcels from. Apparently that is wrong. I later found out that he was completely wrong, after I got home when checking with Royal Mail. So I didn't need to pay him extra money. It looks like other reviews are also negative. That is not surprising. I recommend going elsewhere. Westerham Avenue post office is excellent.

The old man does not respect customers. He is very rude. He does not help people. He is always not smiling. He is always angry. I do not know why he should be replaced immediately. He does not deserve to be there. Sometimes I meet some young men there. It seems that they are his children. Frankly, they are very kind and helpful to people. I love them very much and I wish them a bright future. I hope that old man learns. Lessons from these young people

Really rude staff and so miserable. The staff asked an additional £1 fee to process a package in which I already paid and printed a label from PayPal. I’ve had no other post office ask for this extra fee and he told me to go to a sorting office to do it. Just greedy I’d recommend going to the post office at Westerham avenue and you shouldn’t be doing customer service if you dislike customer!!

  • ShutYerGob

This is quite possible the rudest man I have encountered. He has no people skills at all and even seems to hate children. He overcharged my aunt who when at Westerham Avenue post office realised just how much he has ripped her off. I've lived in silver street for 35 years and I recommend Westerham Avenue post office instead. They are fantastic!

The old man working at the post office is very disrespectful and rude. He does not help in any way. I don't understand how they employ such a person. He constantly shouts at his customers. When we ask something, he replies, "Am I your teacher? Are you blind?" This man needs to be removed from this position immediately.…

Man behind the counter absolutely clueless and rude!He refused to deposit into my account old pound coins because he said they are 5 years old!So what they are 5 years old??!!You can still deposit them into your account if you find them!!Go and educate yourself or read Royal mail website as you are an ignorant!

  • The Invincible V8

Asked the gentleman at the post office counter for another V62 Forum due to doing an error in my writing, member of staff replied with 'I can't keep giving you papers, if I give you one more you will ask for hundred in a very aggressive tone, totally unprofessional which he then refused to give another one.

Prompt service, receptive to customers. The younger man is professional, courteous and friendly, but I've never had any problems with the older man either. I'm actually really happy to have this post office as my regular go-to now, as the one I went to before was not good at all.

  • david smith

Never on time ....always late to open.....apparently they are open now....not according to this pic and the line behind me. Walked in without a care in the world at 9.15am without an apology or explanation for the disgruntled customers in the line.

  • So L

Rude owner, will try and lie to customers to make them buy signed for. E.g. 1st class mail can take up to a week, but if you buy signed for it will be quicker. Does not care about customers, very rude owner, hopefully he has to close down.

I came to this post office to collect my parcel. Post office was closed in the middle of the day for 1h 30min because a man who works behind the counter had a break. No information on website that this place has break time.

Not quite sure why it is so difficult to have a decent staffing level when visiting. One person for a Q of about 25 is ridiculous. Not that anyone cares enough that the post office here is a silly idea.

  • Nidgy Nadj

Surprised and disappointed to discover this PO closes at 6pm on Saturdays. The clerk I spoke to asked me to return on Monday as he did not know how to process car tax exemptions. I won't be returning.

  • Ga Queen

Rude staff. I called to ask about a service and they said sorry call your local post office! I WAS CALLING MY LOCAL POST OFFICE! They hung up on me!

  • haley

Not a review for the post office, but the small bakery section. This cake is amazing! If you're visiting, you will not regret picking this up …

  • Dillan B

Scammer, do not pay £1 for extra prepaid labels! Do NOT give him that money he will pocket it. No post office takes money when you've already paid.

  • Jiayi Liu

The person owns the post office was very rude. I would rather travel far for a better and pleasant service. I won’t go back again.
